IP WLAN configuration

OK, so I have a windows 7 exploited labtop, it's fairly new, bought last summer and now it will not work with wlan. It works perfectly well with the wireless network card and it worked fine with wlan until earlier today when I got a short outages that turned on my router for about 20 min. I had this problem at the beginning when I first set up the computer with it is not able to connect to the wlan then I did something wonderful that i can remember what it worked for about six months and then now it isn't yet. I tried the windows setup program, but I just got the invalid ip-configuration message. I don't see anything wrong with my settings that seem obvious to me, you have tips or what can I use to analyze where is the problem or what I should try?

Hello

Assuming that wireless router is configured correctly, it is a signal and the wireless card on the computer is physically in.

Maybe this can help.

These steps and tell us where is the breaking point.

Check the Device Manager for the wireless card valid entry.

http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_dm.jpg

If there is no valid entry, remove any entry from fake and re - install the drivers for the wireless card.

Check network connections to make sure that you have a network icon/entry wireless connection, and that the properties of the icon (right-click on the icon) are correctly configured with the TCP/IPv4 protocol in the properties of network connections.

http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_connection_tcp.jpg

------------------

The wireless card drivers much also install utility wireless of the seller.

Make sure that if there are teas from Wireless Utility of seller does not work with the native Windows wireless utility (Service WLAN).

----------------

Make sure you firewall No. preventing / blocks wireless components to join the network.

Some 3rd AV/Firewall/security software part, s costume keep blocking aspects of Local traffic even it they are off (disabled).

If possible set up the firewall correctly, /Security costume otherwise totally uninstall and get rid of its remaining processes that permit the own local network traffic flow.

If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .

party like Hello and NetMagic 3rd network managers can block local traffic too.

---------------------------

Stack TCP/IP work should look like.

Right-click on the wireless network connection card, select status, details and see if she got an IP address and the rest of the settings.

http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/status-NIC.jpg

Description is the data of the card making.

The physical address is MAC of the card number.

The xx must be a number between 0 and 255 (all xx even number).

YY should be between 0 and 255

ZZ should be between 0 and 255 (zz all the same number.)

The date of the lease must be valid at the present time.

* Note 1. IP that starts with 169.xxx.xxx.xxx isn't valid functional IP.

* Note 2. There could be an IPv6 entries too. However, they are not functional for Internet or LAN traffic. They are necessary for Win 7 homegroup special configuration.

---------------------------------------------------

A message in the small window that says connected wireless doesn't means that you are really a valid functional connection.

Above everything is OK, you must be able to connect to the router.

Connection to the router means that you can enter the IP of the router base in an address bar in one go, being able to connect and configure the router menus see.

If it doesn't connect to the router, journal newspaper from any computer that can connect to the router wirelessly with a wire, disable wireless security, make sure that the wireless SSID broadcast is enabled and try to connect with no. wireless security.

Enable security wireless after you eat to make a functional connection.

    Hello

46TL938G unpacked yesterday, updated the firmware on the Internet.

Wireless set in place with WPS works, but configuration is lost after turning the TV market / back.
I can't use assisted because of hidden SSID configuration.

I recommend you try different configuration scenarios:

-try to connect with prior authentication ON and OFF

  • Problems with the WLAN configuration

I can connect my raspberry using PuTTY on a static IP, but it does not work using WLAN.

WLAN using my router sees a device no is not an IP address, which I suppose Raspberry.

I guess that the tutorial is wrong, as it provides the same IP for the eth0 and wlan0, and it does not show the 'network' line in the section wlan0.

    Or I do something wrong?

Here is the final solution to my problems. At the same time, there had been several configuration errors:

    1. I provided the two devices, eth0 and wlan0, the same IP address, as has been requested by the guidelines of Tom. Of course, this won't work. I had to provide separate IP addresses as @stainsb correctly pointed.
    2. My router was set to "isolate the wlan" which means that wlan is routed to the internet but not lan. Certainly to be able to communicate between lan and wlan, there must be no insulation. So I dropped this security feature.
    3. My router was set to "restrict the mac addresses" which means that only devices can connect to WiFi. Of course, I had to relax this restriction by adding the MAC of the WiFi dongle to the list of allowed devices.

With this three changes I use eth0 and wlan0 successfully at the same time!

BTW, it was not necessary or use wpa pairwise or wpa-group, as suggested by @khooke_acn.

Thanks to all and sorry for bothering with my stupid administrative problems!

  • 32L4333DG TV - need help with configuring WLAN

I bought a flat 32L4333DG of Toshiba, but cannot configure the wireless connection.
    Help me please.

Message was edited: assignment has been translated

What's the problem? Have you read the instructions in the manual how to connect WiFi TV?

There are 3 different methods to configure the WLan configuration:

    _1) easy Setup (WPS) _
+ If the AP is WPS compatible, this method can be used. +
+ WPS is a standard of the industry, designed to facilitate the wireless LAN connection and security settings. WPS automatically configures all the wireless settings. +
+ NOTE: WEP encryption is perhaps not able to configure through easy implementation. +

_2) assisted Setup (installation using notification s AP information) _
+ Name network, authentication and encryption are decided according to the information provided by the AP. You can manually set the security key. +
+ The security key must conform to these conditions: +.
    + TKIP/AES: ASCII 8-63 or 64 Hex characters +.
    + WEP: codes ASCII 13 5 or 10 or 26 Hex characters +.
+ There's a key ID to set for the WEP encryption. +

_3 _) manual configuration (manual entry of all parameters)
+ Some types of encryption are only compatible with specific authentication types. +
+ When authentication is an open system, only WEP or none is compatible. +
+ When authentication is shared key, WEP is compatible. +
+ When authentication is WPA - PSK or WPA2-PSK, TKIP or AES is compatible. +

+ When the inconsistent authentication/encryption pairings are detected, a warning message will be displayed and no connection attempt will be until the conflict is resolved. +

+ There's a key ID to set for the WEP encryption. +

The WLan led can only be ON or OFF. If the light comes on (any color) then it means that the Wlan switch is on!

It seems that the WiFi is enabled. In this case, you will need to properly configure the WiFi network.
You can use the own WLan settings in Windows or a Wlan configuration tool like Intel ProSet utility.

First need choose the right SSID (wireless network name), right of encryption (WEP, WPA, etc.) and password encryption.
Please note that all of these parameters should be the same on the router WLan and WLan configuration software!

Please check if the firewall does not affect the connection to the internet as well!

PS: make sure you use the latest version of the WLan driver

  • Problem connecting WLan on Satellite A60-186

I have a problem with Atheros AR5004g wireless network card on my PC since I bought it.

But... and it's funny... If I set up as manual connections of the "network list" a set up as the only automatic connections (e.g. access point) and I turn off the access point I can see it disappear in the form of the "network list". If I turn on once more and click on update network list, the wireless connection to the access point will automatically launch. Hello

Your ad is a little confusing.
You do not write on the connection. Have you used the windows WLan configuration or the Atheros WLan utility?
I advise to use the Atheros Wlan utility to configure the WiFi connection, because it is an Atheros Wlan card.
Of course, you can also check the availability of updates. If the new driver has been on the Toshiba site so you can try to install it.

  • My Satellite C850D has problem in WLAN signal

I had a problem with the connection to the internet wireless in recent weeks.

I sometimes luck and he would take our router at home, but more often there otherwise the computer monitor with the x bit red in it at the bottom of my screen.

He could not pick up any network at all. If I help it, he just repeatedly told me that I needed to install an ethernet cable, but I want to connect wireless.

I Googled it and saw a lot of things about the drivers and I assumed it was my problem. I uninstalled my two wireless drivers and then scanned a new hardware, like the many tutorials will tell you, but nothing happened.

I went to the Toshiba site and seemed to wireless drivers so I downloaded the Realtek one and followed internet tutorials to get this working but once again, nothing.

Now, I don't know what to do.

Can someone please. I need access to the internet at home for College work as soon as POSSIBLE!

    Thank you!

    Hello

I think you should start solving the problem by checking some key things:
First the wireless network card should be recognized in the Device Manager and it must not contain any yellow exclamation point. The WLan driver must be installed correctly.

Second, please check if the wireless network adapter is enabled. All Toshiba laptops media function keys and generally you can activate the WLan using FN + F8 keys or (in some cases Fn + F12)

You should check the WLan configuration.
You can add new Wlan profile in Control Panel-> network and sharing Center-> wireless (left)
    Add new Wlan connection.

Note: use the exactly the same settings that were used in your router settings.
Pay attention to the standard of encryption and the encryption key!

In the Device Manager-> card Wlan-> properties-> Advanced tab, you can see options as for example WiFi 802.11 A/B/G standard, etc.

  • Satellite Pro L300 - cannot use Intel ProSet WLan tool with Win XP

Hello! I have the same problem. I installed a XP SP3 and I can't use the * Fn + F8 * hotkey to activate the WLAN function on or off. Other Fn keys work correctly. The WiFi network also works, but it can be used by the built-in Windows. Intel ProSet or Atheros programs do not work. It seems "no wlan driver installed. The card is a Realtek 8187 B, downloaded the driver on Toshiba support original site. What can I do?

    > WLan also works, but it can be used by the built-in Windows. Intel ProSet or Atheros programs do not work
If the WiFi works fine using the windows zero configuration then the WLan adapter is enabled and don t get the FN + F8.

The fact is that your 3rd party WLan configuration tool doesn t work because your wireless network card is * Realtek! *

Intel ProSet ONLY works with Intel WLan card and the Atheros Wlan configuration tool can be used ONLY if your have an Atheros Wlan card.

You have Realtek so use windows own zero configuration WLan!

    Hello

Your description is a bit confusing.
So here are my Tips how to connect the laptop for WiFi using the Vista operating system.

First check if your WiFi is turned on. You must use the key FN + F8 to go tot eh card WLan and then turn on the WLan switch on the side of the laptop.

According to your WiFi (Atheros or Intel) card I advise to use a WLan configuration as Atheros Client Utility or Intel ProSet Utility tool.

You can use these tools to configure WLan. I use one of these tools and I can connect and configure the WiFi network very easily.

If you want to use the Vista WLan own configuration options, can access the network locations and right click on the WiFi connection.
Choose then rebuilt Waln connection or something like that.
Then choose your WLan which has been configured on the router WLan and put the right encryption settings and you should be able to connect to you wirelessly.

    Good bye

  • Satellite Pro M70: Configfree and Wlan with WEP issue.

I have a Satellite pro M70. With Configfree (v5.90.07), I can connect to the wireless network (with SSID) of my router and go to the internet. But when I put a WEP key in the router, and then I can not connect anymore.
With Configfree, wireless Lan, I still can't see the network (with the name of the SSID, etc.) and I see that the network is secure. But I can't connect to the network more. This because the laptop adapter (Intel 2200BG) doesn t have the WEP key. My question is: How can I set the WEP key in Configfree? (A different key by different profiles).

(Try to solve the problem I have downloaded the new Intel and IntelPROSET wireless drivers.) This live program asked the WEP key and makes a link without problem. Now with Configfree, Wireless LAN, I also see a connection (secured with WEP). But the rest of the Configfree program does more (CFMain.exe problem). I read in another topic that this is caused by the Intel program. You must remove this to solve the problem of Configfree. So this n t the solution.)

My question is: How can I set the WEP key in Configfree? (A different key by different profiles).

    Hello

Firstly the Toshiba Configfree program is not software for the WLan configuration.
This program, you can use for the diagnostic procedure and it shows you the connection properties. But it of not possible to set the cipher with the Configfree.
It seems that the IntelProset utility has a bad influence on the Configfree. The problem is that Toshiba doesn't support any 3rd party applications.

Furthermore if this card doesn t WLan supports WEP encryption so you can not use it.
WEP encryption, you can set in the WLan card properties.
You also use the 3rd party WLan application like IntelProset or Atheros utility to configure the WiFi network but encryption depends on the WLan card not on the utility!

  • Toshiba Software by disabling the automatic Wireless Configuration Service

I have a problem with a Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop. When I start the system, the automatic Wireless Configuration Service is disabled and I have to go into Services and start physically whenever I start Windows (XP 32-bit sp3).

I think it's own software of Toshiba (Q-Connect/Summit?) it prevents start automatically with Windows, because everything else is as it should be.

Can you advise how to fix this so that the service always starts automatically and does not, during the trip, the settings for windows? Set up a wireless ad - hoc is quite difficult because there is no more headaches.

    Hey Buddy,

It s I don't know ConfigFree turns off this feature of Windows... As far as I know it s necessary service for all WLAN configuration tools

Is manual start automatically, or simply the value type? You must assign it automatically.

By the way: what laptop do you have?

    Hello

OK, it seems that you have properly installed the WLan card and everything directly in Device Manager.
You have configured the router WLan? Do you have some cipher and/or filtering by mac address?
    Please check again!

If you use the Wlan configuration option clean windows, you must verify the simple settings in network connections-> wireless network connection properties.

New windows should appear and you should choose the wireless network tab.
Please check if it use windows to configure my WiFi is marked. In the preferred networks field, you could add WLan network. Click on properties and you should be able to configure encryption.

I have problems with a satellite Pro M70, about gaining control of wireless connections.

    > Trying to make a connection through the classic way to windows, windows States that "windows is not able to configure this wireless connection - if you have another program to manage wireless connections, you must use it". I guess it refers to ConfigFree...?

It should not be a ConfigFree. According to you, an Intel ProSet utility or a Client Atheros wireless network adapter might be controls the Wlan configuration!

Please check if one of the two control the WiFi network tools and turn off!

    > where can I enter keys for WEP encryption for my friends in ConfigFree WLAN routers

You should have three different tabs in the utility Configfree.
The second device settings provides the list of devices, and you should see the wireless network connection.
Choose and use the button network connections.
There you should find some encryption settings!

Also check the profile settings tab and the option called security settings
