iPod Classic Toyota Camry reading questions

Recently, I traded in my 2012 Toyota Camry hybrid for a Toyota Camry hybrid from 2016.  In my old Camry I could recharge my iPod Classic while listening on the usb port.  In the version of 2016 of the Toyota Camry, the unit, no fees, but it also constantly freezes.  Is there something I can do to fix this?

I rent cars often and I plugged my iPod Classic on a lot of different cars and it works fine.  The only time where I had problems with my iPod Classic is in my Camry from 2016.  Help, please.

You should consult the user guide for the car audio system, to check the list of supported devices.

NOTE: In systems modern car audio the connected device is as a storage for the files of the song.  Car audio system made the song played, by accessing the iPod as a storage device.  The iPod is not playing through the car audio system.  The iPod performs the same function as a USB at low prices with records of songs, when it is connected to the USB port on the car's audio system.

If you haven't already, do a Reset (reboot) on the iPod.

Learn how to reset your iPod - Apple Support  (see iPod with a click wheel)

If this does not help, in case there is alteration of the data on the iPod that causes the problem of 'freeze' when the car audio system tries to access the iPod as a storage device, you can do a restore of the iPod using iTunes.  This erases the iPod, reinstall its software and sets it to the default settings.

    An interesting problem.

I used my 3 year old, iPod classic (160 gb) via the entertainment system in my VW Golf of 2014 without difficulty using the VW (at the time) the connector cable supplied

Earlier this week, I have acquired a new Golf and connected the iPod to the Golf using a connection cable usb/30 pins.

Book audio playback (my main use) is distorted (as if it runs at high speed). Music playback is fine

However, if I connect the iPod, then select an audio track via the car's entertainment system menu, audio playback is fine.

If I turn the engine off then come back to the iPod, playback is still blurred

I can live with that, but it means tedious navigation through the menu in-car entertainment system whenever I log in order to get correct audio book reading.

The adjustment of the audiobook reading speeds available through the iPod settings have no effect

    Ideas and suggestions gratefully received

However, if I connect the iPod, then select an audio track via the car's entertainment system menu, audio playback is fine.

Is there another way to play the audio book?  Looks like it's the normal way of playing the audio book.

  • iPod Classic 7th gen Shuffle play Question

A week ago, I was playing random songs on my iPod through shuffle. Today, I used shuffle and the same exact songs to play in the same order of a week ago... The iPod's battery die since then, so it was restarted. I find it weird that this happened. I was just checking to see if anyone has had a similar experience. This is not the first time that I've lived this BTW.

    Thank you.

Under certain conditions, I can cause my iPod repeat a sequence of songs in shuffle mode. For example, if the third or fourth in a sequence random song and I press the "back" button a few times to return to the first song, repeat the sequence.

    Consider this:

random playback of the songs actually means "to randomly choose another song", and yet it is in fact very difficult for the same a real computer to generate a random number because computers operate on a regular and predictable. Even if an iPod is a computer, it is nowhere near as capable as a full specification and I suspect that the mixed songs are actually a hidden playlist (or two), who (s) get updated when the iPod is synced with iTunes. It could explain why some users report seeing the same songs being synced over and over again, even though they have not played against them.

Even if I say 'playlist', it is more likely to be a list of numbers, stored on the iPod that are used to select the next song "at random".

    So this isn't a bug, it's just a limitation of the power of an iPod. Are two things that you can do (well, three actually!);

    1. When you use the iPod, start your random game with a different song. The first song was a 'number' and this number dictates what "random" list is used. Every list is different.
    2. Sync your iPod with iTunes frequently as this will be the time that hidden on the iPod playlists are revised.
    3. Accept the status quo. (Okay, I'm being facetious...)

It is a theory so I may be wrong, or even be shot down in flames (but only by more experienced contributors), but I don't think that this will never change as iPod Classic software is unlikely to be updated now.

  • is it possible to mix a playlist on ipod classic?

I have several lists in memory on my classic ipod but do not know how to mix songs on a single reading list. When I select it shuffle shuffles all the songs stored on the ipod which is all my mixed together playlists. Am I missing something?

    Hi alex8199,

Thanks for your question.   If you want to mix all the songs in a single playlist on your iPod Classic, you need to activate Shuffle for songs.   This will be random songs in an album or playlist you choose.

Do this select Menu > settings > Shuffle.   Press the Center button to toggle your options and choose songs.  Press and hold the Menu button to return to the main menu.

Now, go to your playlists, choose a playlist and press play.  You should see the shuffle icon in the upper right of your screen, and only the songs in the selected playlist should play.   If you do not take a specific playlist, all the music on your iPod classic will be mixed.

Alex, take a look at the iPod Classic User Guide for more information.

    Have a great day!

  • I have a iPod Classic 30 GB. I have a new macbook pro and I managed to put my iPod, but now I can't synchronize my iTunes to iPod. What should I do next?

iPod Classic does not sync with iTunes on MacBook Pro.

If "reset" means you did a restore on it (to erase it), after the restoration, the iPod is set by default to use the parameter manually manage music and videos] .  If you expect not to sync automatically, you need to Sync music.

Connect iPod and to find his button on the device to iTunes.  The screenshot below shows the left upper corner of the window of my iTunes, iPod button circled in red.

Click this button to display the settings of the iPod summary screen in the iTunes window.  Along the left side, in the sidebar, under settings, click on music.  Parameters of music from the iPod screen to the right.  Check the box to Sync music.

NOTE: For anyone else reading this, all the songs of the iPod that are not in your iTunes library will be lost.

This enables automatic synchronization.  You can choose to synchronize your entire music library or a part of the selection .  Implement this screen as you want, and then click apply to sync iPod.  Further, iTunes automatically keeps iPod "in phase" with the changes in your music library (or the selected part of it), when you connect the iPod (or click sync , if already connected).

If this isn't the problem, thanks for posting back with additional details about your situation.

I called Amazon to try to recover the serial number of my old iPod classic two weeks ago, and they gave me a kind of account; They pronounce it account 'seen - It '. I don't have to ask how, because I thought I knew, but I was wrong. Would what type of account be? And how it's spelled? The name of the account is a tiny s followed a 7-digit number. (Of course I will not type the numbers.)

  • My iPod Classic retains a break himself

My iPod Classic keeps pausing itself randomly while I'm listening to music. I had this problem before, and it is fixed using different headphones. However, I'm tired of having to buy new headphones (I use headphones to Apple, which is said by the way) whenever this problem arises. Is there something wrong with the headphone jack, and if so can I do something about it?

A sensor tells the iPod there is a plug in the headphone jack.  Maybe it becomes defective and sometimes does not see that the headphones are connected, so the iPod stops playing.

If it's a hardware problem, there are accessories that connects to the dock connector, to provide a separate audio output.  Here is an example

    https://www.Amazon.com/GP/product/B004V9CW7A

Sound quality is supposed to be improved (compared to the standard headphone output).  And you get a reading on the cable remote.

  • iPod Classic and TV displays error

So I have an old iPod classic that I recently started using again, but he seems unable to sync the TV shows that I own. It can sync music very well, but even with sync settings, the 'all TV shows' value, it may not. When I try, the iPod is as there is nothing to synchronize. Even more curious, I got a movie and some clips on it since the time and they play well on the iPod.

The shows are certainly downloaded on my system, and I can read on my PC. I found some old tips recommended I download an "iPod Version" of the show, but I can't find any option like that.

I have a Windows 10 operating system with iTunes 12.4.3. The iPod is running version 2.0.5.

My iPod classic is currently synced on my old windows pc - how can I send it to my new Apple Mac without losing any of my music.  All my music is downloaded from the ads?

If you still have your old PC in working condition, with its iTunes library intact, not to use your iPod to transfer the library to your new Mac.  You transfer your data from user (not just your iTunes data) directly from the old PC to the new Mac.

There is an automated system called Migration Wizard, if your system meets the requirements.  Be sure to have a backup of the data.

Alternatively, for the part of iTunes, this paper outlines how do it manually, using an external drive.

Manage and backup your iTunes media library - Apple Support

To summarize, the first step is to make sure that all your iTunes data is stored in the iTunes folder ("consolidate"), which is located in your folder music user account.  The second step is to copy this folder iTunes on an external drive, to create a backup.  The third step is to restore that backup the iTunes on your new Mac folder.  Launch iTunes to use data from the old PC iTunes; It looks like iTunes running on your old PC, complete with all the songs (and other types of media) and data, such as reading lists, notes, play count, etc.

Your iPod continues to synchronize with it, because for the iPod, it's the same iTunes library (on another computer).  If you using your iPod as a data source, you add your old data to an iTunes library on Mac.  It is NOT complete.  The iPod sees it as a different iTunes library.  iPods are not designed to be your data from iTunes backup.

  • iPod Classic 160 GB Gen 7 BOTH of PROBLEMS!

My ipod classic automatically disconnect whenever I connect it to my pc. I checked the cable, it is very good and works with the other iPod and usb port of my computer is powerful enough to manage this device. There are a few points in time where he would connect after many many menu + button select restorations, but this is an unreliable method. In addition, 4 times the ipod says there is no music. I plugged it and itunes could not read music files. When I checked my c: drive he showed that the ipod was all my music on it.

I tried all kinds of breakdowns, apparently these problems have nothing to do with the drive hard because the diagnostic mode I can check his HDSpecs. I also tried disk mode but itunes does not show that the ipod is connected.

I'm at my wits end with this ipod. Help, please!

This type of problem can certainly be linked to the health of the hard drive.

When disconnected, the iPod still works correctly as an iPod?  In other words, does show the screen menus.  He plays songs (if there are songs loaded)?

The first step is to get the iPod in iTunes.  When you connect the iPod, watch the screen of the iPod.  It does not say 'do not disconnect' or give an indication that it is connected?  Is it just to show the symbol of battery?  Or not it reacts at all to be connected?

    My ipod classic automatically disconnects...

Before it 'disconnects automatically", which says that the iPod is connected?  He initially appears in iTunes, then disappears?  Please provide more details...

  • IPod Classic (and iTunes library) from Windows to Mac

Hey ppl, can someone help me with this one?
My iPod Classic was initially connected to a PC, because I didn't have a Mac at the time. But I an and for a long time, and now I'm about to get a second.
I was put in place with the PC mostly because my iTunes library has nearly 500 stored cd and I use my iMac only for work, I didn't want to fill his 500 GB drive with iTunes library. But now that I'm about to take my work to a new Mac, I thought that it was time to move my iTunes library to Mac, and I did it with the help of an external hard drive.

Now, everything is ok with iTunes on Mac all the CDs and the works of art and library moved nicely.

But when I connected the iPod it syncs ok, but does not receive a new cd that I just uploaded on the Mac.

I have noticed that an already existing CD which I modified the work on the Mac, sync ok for the iPod, but not the new CD. The CD is an original, not a copy.
I think it has to do with the iPod having been registered to another computer. I allow them the Mac, but still the CD is not transferred to the iPod.
I want to get rid of my PC, but I need the iPod to work with the Mac.
Can someone tell me what I'm missing, or doing wrong?
    Thank you

I had checked the discussions over and over again before posting the question and do not find an answer, and now after posting the question, I found what solved my problem - iPod sync fine with the Mac. (to goodbye PC)

"Kenichi Watanabe 26 February 2016 06:04 Re: Ipod connects to itunes, but does not synchronize "
    in reply to Umphreys21

OK, that's fine.  So, just what is currently on the iPod is already in your new library iTunes, correct?

When you start with a new iTunes library and add your existing content, the iPod sees it as a new iTunes library, not the old one that was previously used to synchronize the iPod.  The partners from iPod to your new iTunes library and the Tower WE Auto Sync, follow these steps...

Select the iPod in iTunes (click on its button on the device on the horizontal bar) to display the parameters of the iPod in the iTunes window.  The side left (in the sidebar), under settings, click music.  Settings of music from the iPod screen is shown at right.

NOTE: All iPod songs that are not in your iTunes library will be lost.

Check the box to Sync music.  This turns ON Auto Sync (and associate the iPod to your new iTunes library).  If your library complete iTunes music can fit on iPod, choose the option to synchronize the entire music library.  Click apply.

On a separate note, since you started with a new iTunes library, you have added all your content to your backup, but you probably do not have the additional data (such as playlists, ratings, play head, date added, etc.).  Depending on how you have saved your iTunes data, it may be possible to restore your full (not only your media) iTunes library.  You need to be good with the help of your new iTunes library, but if you want more information, thanks for posting back. »

  • iPod Classic takes a long time to Sync

I have an iPod Classic which I love.  However, in the past month, it takes a VERY (re: 15-20 minutes) for synchronization.  In the past, it took a minute or two.

    Here's what happens:

    (1) plug the iPod Classic on laptop via a cable

    (2) iPod Classic recognizes the connection

    (3) iPod Classic watch synchronization on his screen and puts cautioned against disconnection.

    (4) stays like this for 15-20 minutes before it goes to the screen where it says "Eject before disconnecting" or something else (basically, sync icon is gone).

Now, here's something else to consider: I have my settings iTunes for my iPod Classic set to "manually manage."  It's not like whenever I connect my iPod Classic to my laptop it is addition of pieces... I don't want it to do that, so why I set it to manual.  For the life of me, I can't understand why all of a sudden it takes so long to 'sync '.  After 15-20 minutes (re: when it stops after that I have plug in the first synchronization), if I try and add music, music will add successfully, but that LONG synchronization process starts ALL OVER AGAIN and I still 15-20 minutes before he says it are safe eject to remove.

Again, I have my settings to manage the value manually.

    Any advice/help?

    Thank you!

  • iPod Classic keeps restarting. Already tried several solutions, I can find.

My classic iPod keeps restarting randomly. Sometimes he can play for a few hours, other times its a few minutes.

I got it over a year and he had a spare battery rise (by Apple), in December, but no problems until this week.

When I plug in my laptop (Windows) it gets usually recognized and appears in iTunes but usually disappears iTunes but says still 'connected' to the screen.

    So far I have tried:

-Reset the iPod. (sometimes it's very slow)

-Restore iPod to the factory via iTunes settings.

-Check MP3 files for MP3 Diags with MP3val errors. Deleted everything that could not be repaired.

-Put the iPod in disk and search mode of disk errors. No error found.

Is there anything else that I could try or nobody knows what could cause this problem? Thank you.

Take a look at Re: corrupted iPod classic. If the device cannot read the part of a multimedia file, it can skip to the next track, but if he struggles to read other data that may cause a reboot.

  • iPod Classic FREEZES up

I have and have had several classic iPod.  I started with the 40G iPod with click wheel and I think I'm going on my fifth 160G iPod Classic.  I currently own a 160G iPod Classic, iPhone G 128, 6 +, an 80G Classic iPod, iPod Touch 64G and an iPod 30G classic.  I prefer the classic because the commands work much better when I play Pac Man or Ms. Pac Man and, unfortunately, they abandoned the classics, but this is not the issue.

That being said, has anyone who never really understood the limits of the iLod classic?  What are the causes of accident/gel top/restart and why haven't there been resolved yet?

Please note: I want only responses from people who have experienced this problem or people who can extrapolate the information of what they are reading and not get hung up on the details of a minute on something that has been said somewhere that they think must be corrected, especially if it has been used as an example.

There are too many people who think that when you say you bought a 160G iPod and you want to be able to put 160G of music on what you really think you can exceed the limits of training and put 160G of music on it, rather than allow the loss of usual about 10 percent of the space, AND then there are people who think that when you say something like «» "IF I put 10 000 one minute songs about it" I did "10,000 SONGS a MINUTE."  Some people are ridiculous.

P.S. I use Windows from XP all the way up to Windows 8 and the vast majority of my songs is recorded as MP3 as opposed to Apple's AAC format, as I can finally decides to move away from means of control and manipulation of Apple.  Finally, I have over 70 k songs in my iTunes - most account which I personally converted CD purchased in the store with the most difficult to find songs from iTunes Store, when it is absolutely necessary.
