Is FPGA Auto - supported reset?

Hello

Is it possible for an R series FPGA (7841) to do an automatic reset?

The reason why I ask, is I want to do a FPGA reset in case the host application needs to crash unexpectedly. The host must send a "heartbeat" from time to time, and if the FPGA has not received the heart for a long time, i.e. the host probably crashed, the FPGA should go in a known state for security reasons. I know there are other ways to do this, but it would be super easy to implement this feature is supported.

Feature not supported.

-Engineer of Application NOR confirmed.

If it does not, you will need to either have the BIOS chip replaced by HP or a BIOS repair company. That's where she is now.

  • FPGA NI 9401 reset high method exit glitch

Someone posted about this problem but no answer OR

    http://forums.NI.com/T5/LabVIEW/FPFA-reset/m-p/2582555/highlight/true#M777501

Some electronics got fries because that when you call the reset on the FPGA method outputs go high for (way longer than they should have been...) about 100 MS

Is there a reason that the reset method on CompactRIO FPGA works this way? I have not studied how it works with other modules that the 9401.

Could this behavior if you please at least be documented in the help somewhere? It is quite important.

I finally got the hardware configuration and was able to test a 9074 9401 module. When you use the method Reset FPGA, it in effect exports 100 m we do it is documented and that KB is updated. I'll also be sure to contact the right people to see if we can get this put in 9401 help files, where it is more visible.

  • Auto numbering Reset

I have a reserved in InDesign CS5. Page numbers have been added to the master page by placing a text at the bottom of each page box and put a self numbering text inside.

A few pages in the book, however, are empty and do not need a number, I went and manually deleted these page numbers. I did it by pressing command + shift and clicking on the dotted line at the bottom of the page text box. The text box would then be possible to manipulate. After that, I did two things:

    (1) deleted the page inside the text box number

    (2) delete the text box itself.

(I think I would have just deleted the page numbers, but in some cases, I have deleted the entire text box).

Now the text has changed slightly, and a few pages who used to be Virgin are more virgins, so I need to add some in. back of page numbers

    (1) in case I deleted the page inside the text box number, I know I can just type the correct number in but is possible I can get will to automatically add the correct number?

    (2) in case I deleted the entire text box, I know I can add a new text box on this page, but it will not be connected to the automatic numbering system. Is there a way I can restore the text-auto box?

    Thank you.

use: Mac OS 10.9.5, InDesign CS5

To restore the original master page text frame, reapply the master by dragging from the top of the pages Panel and the applicant on the right page in the lower section.

  • Resetting Vixia HF G30 auto resets all settings

Let's say I'm filming a few scenes using the manual mode and have changed some settings. If I decide to shoot some scenes in Auto mode, auto reset any settings that I used when shooting in manual mode? I use Vixia HF G30.

If I understand the question I don't think you lose the settings you used in manual mode when you return to the manual mode in the auto mode.  In other words I don't think that the auto mode reset the manual mode to the default settings after you use the auto mode, and then move back. I have the Vixia HF G20 and will test it to make sure I'm right about that.

  • In win 7, missing menu firefox, toolbars; Unable to access the reset

Using Win 7 64 bit. All of a sudden everything disappeared from firefox except the URL line. When I ran a checkdisk, there was corruption in a bunch of files. May have caused the problem. Went to try the mozilla support reset suggestion. Can't do it because I have no Firefox icon in the upper left to click and so cannot enter in Help menu or anything, except what I can access it through the line of the URL. Cannot find any other advice on what to do. Is Firefox uninstalling and restarting the only answer? Do I lose bookmarks, add ons, etc.? Thank you.

Hello jgdolan, please try to close all firefox windows and then by holding down the SHIFT key while you start again - this will bring up the mode without failure of firefox with the ability to reset the browser.

  • Broken the FPGA VI but the empty error list

    Hello!

I'm trying to run a vi which includes a 'Open FPGA VI Référence' function. However, an error and it says that "not compiled FPGA VI. When I try to compile the FPGA VI a message saying "The VI is broken". I try to run the FPGA and when appears in the error list, there is no error or warning in the list, although the name on the fpga includes the Red 'X' ('show warnings' is checked). Any help?

    I'm using Labview 2013.

    Pablo

    Hi Pablo.

Sorry for my delay in responding, you managed to get the respected FPGA.vi yet?

To answer your questions, if the project is ok with an empty FPGA.vi, then in theory, your hardware is configured ok. However, due to the vi being blank, you haven't tried to use one of the modules on your system, so it can introduce errors. The most common mistake is differentiation of mode Scan Mode/FPGA by installing the project in the first place. Also be aware that not all FPGA targets supports everything, for example some dislike for the rows that have an index to calculate the number of iterations, rather than a constant wired at the entrance to "n".

Out of curiosity, why you place every measure in the DMA separately and also specify address? Is there a reason you don't just place all the measures in a table and put everything in the DMA, then divide the table on the other side?

Generally speaking I don't think that incorrect programming should never cause LabVIEW crashing and you should always report the problem to the OR in order to take a look and see if they can fix it.

Hope that you managed to get your problem sorted and again sorry for the late reply.

    Darren.

  • Download Bitfile to Flash on FPGA in VeriStand

    Hello

I was wondering how to download a FPGA bitfile for flash memory on a FPGA using VeriStand. I use a PXI chassis and a FPGA PXI R series.

I hope that the answer is

    (1) configure the FPGA VI to run when loading on FPGA

    (2) open the VeriStand System Explorer, set the initialization of the system to run a system to reboot definition.

    (3) deployment.

Or is the bitfile stored on the hard drive to the chassis and then imported on the FPGA whenever the chassis is started?

If I cancel the deployment of the system definition file I guess the flash on the FPGA is deleted, is it true?

    Thank you

    Brent

    Hi Brent,

I heard R & d today. VeriStand uses the open FPGA VI reference, which means that the bitfile will not be replaced if it detects the correct bitfile already running.

"(Par défaut pour certaines cibles FPGA, cette fonction s'ouvre et exécute le VI FPGA compilé sur la cible FPGA si le VI FPGA n'est pas déjà en cours d'exécution)." - 2012 help FPGA open Reference VI.

When the system definition is canceled the FPGA is reset to zero, which is the default behavior of the close FPGA VI reference.

"Farm the reference to the FPGA VI and resets the VI if no other references to the VI is open. Reset of the VI returns VI orders and States flags by default defines global variables uninitialized shift registers default values and clears FIFOs. "- 2012 Help close FPGA VI Reference.

  • Support of NI CompactRIO for LabVIEW 2015 missing

    Hello

I have one NOR cRIO 9038 I want to use for a project, but I continue to have problems with incompatible software. I downloaded the two 64-bit LabVIEW, CompactRIO 15, FPGA Xilinx tools, FPGA Module OR and then 32-bit LabVIEW. All these components are updated in the Service Manager OR.

I am trying to learn to use this device, and I am going through the guide of http://www.ni.com/compactriodevguide/ where the first example is a Turbine including different screws when you open the files it succesfully scans and all the screws under loads, but only at the opening, I get the following error message

Here is a view of the software installed in my MAX

Looking for 'The NI CompactRIO for LabVIEW 2015 drivers Support' brings me to this page http://www.ni.com/download/ni-rio-15.0/5363/en/ which I already downloaded and installed.

How can I solve this problem?

    Thank you

EDIT: also miss me cRIO sample projects referenced by the guides NOR as a good starting point for any new application. They must be visible when I want to open a new model/sample. Is a further indication that I'm missing something - or should try to reinstall? Simply, I can't understand what it is that I might be missing.

You also have LabVIEW Real-time and LabVIEW FPGA installed? You probably need to install those before the CompactRIO drivers. I don't know if LabVIEW RT/FPGA is supported in LV 64-bit - it does not look like it does in LV 64-bit in your screenshot MAX.

Edit: Sometimes the installation order can be important - LabVIEW/FPGA/RT first and then the CompactRIO drivers - you might want to do a reinstall and see if that sorts it.

  • Drivers Xilinx/Multisim and Labview FPGA

Where can I find drivers for my FPGA OR if I use Multisim/Xilinx and NOT of Labview?  All the links I found are Labview be installed.  However, the explicit manual FPGA indicates that you can use Multisim/XIlinx ISE in place.

OK, I tested just outside. The Driver of LabVIEW 2013 DEFB contains 2 separate components, the driver and Module FPGA support. If you run this installer, it won't check if you have LabVIEW FPGA installed unless you check the box for LabVIEW FPGA support.

I can change the text in the Installation Instructions to read "LabVIEW FPGA 2013 is required to install the LabVIEW FPGA Module Support component installation".

  • 9144 with FPGA and SGL EtherCAT custom user-defined Variables?

    Hello

I currently have a small instrument driver (rs485) running on a chassis of 9144. The output values are communicated to the master EtherCAT using FXP numbers. I would like to pass these FXP to SGL, since I've upgraded to SP1 2012 LV with FPGA now supports numbers of SGL.

Is this possible? I tried several times to create the Variables defined by the user of SGL in the project, but the date type is gray.

    Greetings from Munich,

    Götz

Unfortunately, SGL is not a data type supported for communication to and from a 9144. The types of data available for the I/O user-defined variables are:

    * Fixed point
    * Signed integers (Int8, Int16, Int32, Int64)
    * Integers (UInt8, UInt16, UInt32, UInt64)
    * 32 bit field
    * Boolean

More information on I/O user-defined variables can be found at:

  • project and the strange behavior of FPGA v

I had a strange problem with my main project and the FPGA inside screws.

It seems than a recent revision/replacement of a part of the code (replaced subVIs with the latest revisions with different names) prompted the VI to load screws unused when I save it.

The story gets more strange because I can create a totally blank FPGA VI within the project and it still load the same SubVIs when I save it.

I can save repeatly the VI and the same (now nonexistent) subVIs will be charged each time before the economy can complete

The SubVIs are not displayed in the VI hierarchy and are no longer in the project at all - but are always loaded by a VI that does no resemblance or relationship to the original VI.

    Is my project completely broken?

If Yes is there a way to fix without starting from scratch ?

Thanks for any help in advance

    Dan

you have a screw under the fpga target who could still make reference to the missing subvis? If the project think that you still have a dependency on these missing subvis, they will appear (with a warning that I think) to under the item "dependencies" of the target fpga. When you save a vi in the context of fpga, labview support the other screws in the same target to ensure they are still valid and up to date of the accounting information. If you have any other screws which are still divided on disc (even if they set up on top of the load), you will have to wait until they take whenever you save the vi in question.

  • Reset the factory default ssd is a sure way to wipe ssd

Using Windows7 64 bit, I have an option when reformatting a SSD (Kingston 64 GB V series with trim support) reset to factory default. Is that what will happen a secure erase so that I can sell the car without the risk of someone access to my personal information such as banking details online?

    Thank you

    Hey AlanTaylor_854,

To answer your question Yes Alan, when you wipe a SSD or 'format' you erase all the information out of him, so that your personal information will no longer be on this disk.

I hope that this was the answer you are looking for.

  • I contacted support and asked to remove all of the activations for my product. Software has been installed on a computer on which I can't use anymore. The computer is still in use, but I never have it disabled or uninstalled.

Basically, how long this person will be able to use my software until updates of activation?

This isn't how it works.  Even if the support reset your number of activations, products which have been activated previously will remain active.  (Unless it's a CC product, which requires regular reactivation.)

  • HP Elitebook 8460p: USB 3.0 ports do not work

Number and name of the product: HP Elitebook 8460 p - WX558AV

When I opened my laptop today, my wireless mouse will not work. Then I find that all my USB 3.0 ports on the left do not work or the other. If I plug in my external hard drive, I can see clearly (which means power is there), but the drive will not be displayed in Windows Explorer.

I also had another weird error that my computer will not shutdown. It will be auto-restarting/reset in a few seconds. Very strange.

Is this a software or hardware failure? This laptop was bought anything recently and I expect the quality of the business.

    Thank you

    Hieu

I solved this. It wasn't because of the driver. I reinstalled the driver from this link that you provided before the validation of this one, but it did not work. I googled high and low and found various fixes, but they do not work.

I have even come back to an image previous when I just installed Windows 7 (and at that time where the USB ports still work). However, after restoration, the ports still refuse to recognize any USB.

So I think that there are only 2 possibilities: hardware failure (1), or a BIOS (2) problem.

Then I updated to the latest version of the HP BIOS (using HP Support Assistant) and then voila. Problem solved.

I guess the updates of Windows 7 somehow comes into conflict with Bios HP, where the question.

I hope my explanation is clear enough for someone with the same problem can fix their computers.
