D10 bios, no ahci option?

Not short, I have no ahci option in the bios. Only compatible mode and enhanced mode (non-ahci). I have active test to about 135 MB/s with ahci and Intel matrix installed on the previous system, in that it is an installed drive. Installed in the d10 I get just shy of 90 MB/s, which is about the speed, I'll when this disk was used without ahci & matrix intel installed before. Information on the motherboard are sparse. The brief manual covers only a few options in the bios. Any help, PLEASE.

In fact, I found the solution. AHCI will be visible and available with raid disabled on the controller intel. No ahci option at all on the lsi controller, but I didn't see much variance in performance of single disc between the two.

  • HP Compaq dc5750 Small-FF No. AHCI Option in BIOS

I work for an organization that have a good number (400 +) this PC model in use. We have problems of slow hard disk access. All documentation and the forums I can find online speak AHCI is an option in the CMOS settings and I would like to try this, but all of our dc5750s have no option - they have only Legacy IDE, Native IDE (currently we use) and RAID. The connections to the MoBo are physically SATA.

I am aware that we must provide the operating system with SATA drivers to perform the boot (since using XP), and we did it with success on other models of PC, but this isn't the issue. I'm interested to know why the AHCI option is not available in the BIOS when anyone with this model seems to report here.

I updated the BIOS to the latest v2.35.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello:

I have provided the link for the BIOS dc5750 configuration guide.

There is no option of DCIS. Default value is Native IDE if you're not in the RAID configuration. The setting of DCIS came out in models that have made this series.

There is a management setting of SATA power that enables or disables the SATA bus or device power management.

I don't know what the default setting should be for that.

My suggestion is to upgrade the BIOS to its default values.

  • No SATA in BIOS on Z60t option

I wonder if anyone can help. I want to install an SSD on my Thinkpad Z60T, so I need to be able to switch to AHCI mode.

However, there is no "Serial - ATA" option in the BIOS. It should be in the Config, but SATA configuration is not listed. I am running the latest BIOS for the computer laptop (1.24). Someone at - it ideas?

The Z60 - series is based on T43/R52, which both also have a SATA controller but also a SATA IDE bridge.

The BIOS so don't have AHCI option.

  • Dell Inspiron 620/Vostro 260 NO Bios for AHCI

Dell Inspiron 620/Vostro 260 NO Bios for AHCI

Interestingly, I couldn't even update the bios without the INTEL drivers.

Check in the Device Manager, the machine uses the ATA drivers not AHCI drivers

AND will not install the INTEL RST drivers.

    Why is this?

I tried to upgrade to the version of the Bios A04, but this made no difference.

I did some research and discovered that the chipset in this system, the H61, simply does not support AHCI or RAID. There is no way to activate for a reason. :(

Wish I had known this. The value of this system really went down the tube if you intend to launch an SSD in there.

    Hi, Oliver:

Yes, AHCI is defined by default in most, if not all, of recent years HP consumer notebooks.

You will find only the possibility of changing the mode of SATA device on HP business laptops.

  • HP MIni 110 - Bios has no option of disk hard sata/IDE

    Hello

My HP Mini (Win xp home ELCPC HP) can not load in windows because there missing files during startup. So I decided to repair the windows.

However, I have some problems to load WIn XP Home CD SP2 (not ELCPC HP) at the start. I used closure of IDE - USB hard disk by replacing with CD-ROM instead of hard disk because HP Mini has no optical drive

The CD has been loaded, but when halfway incoming to the windows installation, I got the BSOD after F6, pilots and BSOD loading to the 'Setup starts windows..".

The error message was something like this:

"Search for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard disk or hard disk controllers. Check hard drive are correctly installed and configured. Use CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

    Technical information:
    "Stop: 0x0000007B (0xF7A22524, 0 x 0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)"

I browsed the site and found this recommendation to change from SATA HDD to IDE in BIOS. Strange thing is that I don't see this option in the BIOS. There is nothing a lot of option in the bios. I could only change the boot sequence, tool running, put in place under tension the password. That's all.

No idea how to change the SATA to IDE hard drive in HP Mini 110? I would really appreciate your suggestion.

I tried to restore but F11 / F10 takes me nowhere. Nothing happen after pressing these buttons. I wonder why the factory never create a copy for me restore my system if windows problem. I bought Win XP Home and Office, but no backup copy of the preload is created for the user when he is out of the factory. However, I am a little disappointed.

In any case, would like to hear from any of you on the issues.

    See you soon!

    Boot disk (ENABLE)

    (DISABLE) internal network card boot

    BOOT ORDER

    USB disk on key

    USB floppy drive

    CD-ROM ATAPI CD/DVD drive

    Portable hard drive

    USB hard drive

    Network card

Please indicate which of these Boot Options should I 'ACTIVATE' and

that the boot ORDER should I choose to be at the top: -.

    1. If I want to boot from my USB key USB

    2. If I want to boot my Portable external hard drive

    3. If I want to boot from my CD/DVD Rom

    4. If I want to boot from my laptop

The "boot" of Word to say 'start' in language computer, right?

So if I chose to boot from my USB key, my laptop cannot start to load Windows XP because it normal would be more until I go back to the BIOS to change the setting?

Why cannot it not auto answer to the user's choice to start the Windows?

BTW, what does "Starting the internal network card" means?

    Please notify.

    Thank you

To see if you can boot from a USB key, you must go into your BIOS and look at the boot order.  If you see "USB stick" in the list, then you can probably - but it should be placed in the order before the drive hard to make it work.

If you want a boot disc/USB drive for repair purposes, I highly recommend the free Hirens Boot CD.  This CD comes with a bunch of diagnosis and repair integrated tools.  If you can't fix it with this CD, it cannot be fixed without having to reinstall Windows.  Of course, this is not Microsoft.

    Download Hirens: <> http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/ >
Don't be fooled by the fake download links.  The correct link is a file .zip downstairs in a light green rectangle with a drive icon.

There are instructions to create a Bootable CD and bootable USB Thumbdrive:

  • S3-391 bios - few modifiable options

When I arrived the S3 Ultrabook last year, I was able to enter the parameters of the bios and make changes. More precisely to device boot order and set/clear bios passwords. Have a bios password that was rarely used easily lost. I managed to clear the bios password according to the Guide of Service Aspire S3 MS2346.

I can now access again the bios settings. However, it only will allow me to set the time and Date, and a HD password. All other options are disabled, including the ability to use F12 to select a startup disk. My OS is pretty messed up right now so I need boot from a USB key and reinstall.

My bios version is 1.15. The 1.29 upgrade is possible, but only after I have a working operating system.

So is it possible to reactivate the bios options to change? Specificially, enable F12 boot drive selection?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

That's all what I am able to offer.  I see no reason why a BIOS normally flashed would expose these issues.

  • D10 BIOS AND O/S SHOWING ONLY HALF THE RAM INSTALLED

Computor was purchased with 8 1gig chips installed. The bios and the operating system report 4 GB.

When I remove the ram in slot 2, 4, 6 and 8, the bios and the o/s report 2 gig.

I have cleared the cmos memory and reinstall the RAM chips.

Although the seller insists on the memory chips live are all good, I think that my next step would be to draw all and reinstall them one by one. What is the best way to do this, start with slot 1 and 3 and then add one piece at a time and restart?

The problem has been resolved. It turns out that the RAM chips come from different manufacturers. 6 microns and 2 Samsung. All the chips worked well within the brand but do not work well together, I guess with some timing differences. I got all installed Samsung and all 8 concerts now appear.
