Is it Possible to connect HP Photosmart C4780 to FiOS without CD?

When I arrived at the origin of my printer, I have Verizon DSL and haven't had no problem setting, the printer via the software CD. Since I spent to Verizon FiOS, but my sister lost the CD. How can I connect my printer to FiOS without the CD and then connect it to my laptop? I have a MacBook Pro (OS X 10.9.1) Mavericks running - any help would be greatly appreciated. I wish I could print wireless again!

Hi AJoyner,

You do not have a rare problem.  You must use the software on the CD for the printer connected to the network.  You may not use the software on the CD with OS X 10.9.1.  Once the printer is connected to the network, you can use this document to install the printer driver.

http://support.HP.com/US-en/document/c03967522=

You can use a Windows or Mac running a version of the OS that is authorized by the CD.  The Windows driver can be downloaded and used.  But you would need to use another computer to get the printer on the network and then it might work wireless with 10.9.1

  • Is it possible to connect the HP Photosmart C4780 Wireless printer without USB cable?

    Hello

My family and I recently moved and while moving, something inevitably get lost or left for account.  I am fighting to get this printer and will so I don't have to bother people at the front desk at school to print my documents for me.  I have lost/misplaced both the HP Photosmart C4780 printer software disk and the USB cable.  I have no idea where these things are and have not found them within two months, we've been in the new House.

I solved the issue of the loss of the installation disk by downloading it from the HP site.  My problem is now getting beyond the USB connection and get the currently installed software.  Because I run on a MacBook Pro, it always tells me that I need the USB key to continue the installation.  I'm on a Verizon Wireless router, and I even tried to find the printer on my wireless network with no luck.

    Help, please!

    Thank you.

It's the type of cable you will need (ignore the color of the cable, the ends are the important part).

Have a new router is not a problem, but remember the SSID and password wireless exactly, otherwise it will not work (if you decide to try Method 1). It's a bit like "trick" your printer into thinking that your new router is your old a long enough to configure the network settings for the new (desired).

  • Cannot connect my Photosmart C4780 to my network wireless (home)

    Hello

I searched this forum and tried to solve my problem, but none of the elaborate suggestions.

    I have a Photosmart C4780 and am under OSX10.8

Recently, our internet provider changed our wireless router and our SSID. As a result, the printer that is connected to the original network and properly functioning has stopped working. I tried to connect the printer to the new network, but failed. He said now that the printer is connected to the hp network (something) and I can't change it for the new SSID.

Could you please tell me what to do? I have installed the software mentioned in the HP website, plugged the USB cable into the printer to try to set it up, but it says that the printer cannot find any existing network (although I'm next to the printer and connected to the intended network wireless)

Fact a little kind of hard-reset on the printer can be a good strategy? How can he do?

    Thanks in advance

    Pedro

PS: The printer works correctly when printing via USB

PS2: It is not an option to return the SSID of the router to the previous

    Hi @pedroa

You say "I have installed the software mentioned in the HP website", but there is no software for the compatible with 10.8 c4780. Mountain V10.8 OS X Lion: installing and using the printer on a Mac with the Mountain Lion.

As you know, this printer has not a wizard wireless version in the front panel instead us would typically connect the USB cable from the printer to the computer and run the installation wizard.

Because you have 10.8 on Mac, and it there is no full feature software and drivers, you won't be the configuration wizard, to configure the printer. You may be wondering now, well how can I set up then?  Good question, we will restore the default network printers and the printer will have its own IP address designed for whats called an Ad-Hoc connection (wireless router). We will put the computer on the network printer and then print a report to get the printers IP address. At this point, we can access the built-in web server (EWS) and run the wireless from there. Once the printer on the network with the router, we can put the computer on the network and vuala that the printer and the computer will be on your network.

To restore the default network settings - since you have done this before I guess you know how, but for others who can see the message, here are the steps

    1. Press the wireless button
    2. Select wireless settings
    3. Scroll and select default network.  Press Yes to recognize
    4. The radio turns off (the blue LED turns off).  You may need to press the wireless button to turn on wireless

Put the computer on the network printer (temporary)

    1. click on the symbol of the airport on the upper left side of the screen Mac
    2. choose the network looking compared to the printer (we could say a variant of the name of your printer or HP setup) - it may take a few minutes to make it appear

Print the wireless network test - wait a few minutes to make sure the computer have established an ad hoc connection, otherwise the report will not have an IP address

    1. Press the Scan button (it also the wireless menu button)
    2. Select wireless settings
    3. Testing wireless access, then select.

The wireless network Test prints, search and note the IP address.

Open a browser (Safari) and enter the IP address in the URL (address bar).

Click on the network, on the left tab, click on wireless or 802.11.

At this point, we are looking at fore 'start the wizard' should be on the right side.

As soon as we will have to set up the printer to your network, you can put your computer on your own network.

Now you can add the printer in system preferences and print

Please let me know if that fixes the problem, thanks.

  • Photosmart C4780: connection for Photosmart C4780 wireless

I spent two hours through the simplistic menu of the printer, only to print copies of the Configuration Page of HP network and Test wireless network without success reports. I think I made all the necessary steps... such as the restoration's default network.

"Your HP printer cannot find your wireless router. Check that your wireless router is powered. Make sure that your network printer HP (SSID) name exactly matches the network name (SSID) wireless routher yout. If they do not exactly match, run the installation of the wireless network to set up your HP printer.

Well, I have entered my IP address of the router as the url of the browser and connected to my cable account, but was not able to change the SSID.

I also looked at the Youtube page help HP and on discussion forums and tried to use the suggestions.

One who seems to be similar to my situation is this:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/LaserJet-Printing/driver-for-HP-Photosmart-C4780-for-OS-X-Mavericks/TD-...

I, too, can't find "the HP network configuration.

I also downloaded the Printer Driver HP Patch for my OS.

At this point, I'm not sure that I can do. The other suggestion on this page was to find a friend with a PC. I phone my mother on-site, running Windows 10. I also downloaded its respective driver. I don't know what I should do next. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a D-Link router, and I can provide additional information, such as IP, WiFi SSID, pine, etc., if necessary.

    Hello

Please, try this and let me know how it goes:

  • Once I connect my Photosmart C4780 to my wireless network, I lose everything internet.

My router is a Netgear WNDR3700v3 with firmware version V1.0.0.22_1.0.17.  I can get internet to work on my HP pavilion dv7 with windows 7 64 bit, my smart sony TV, my xbox 360 and a phone that I connect to my wireless router.  The second, I configured my HP Photosmart C4780 wireless router I lose internet on all devices.  I can connect to the router again but can't get out to the internet. What would be the printer could prevent me from accessing internet?

We will set an IP address of the printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') 250
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Enter the IP of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the gateway.
-Enter for the first DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for second DNS.
    -Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

After that, you will have to redo 'Add printer' using the new IP address.

  • is it possible to change the photosmart c4780 gateway ip address?

Changed our digital modem / router setup at home at a single gateway to Arris TG862 (all-in-one: dig modem + router).

The new gateway uses a different IP that before then now my Photosmart C4780 does not work wireless.

My old gateway port is 192.168.0.0 now its 10.0.0.0

The printer is configured for 192.168.0.0

I tried to have the router & printer synchronize themselves using WPS, but it did not work.  I went through basic configuration several times via a USB cable too.

    This printer is obsolete?

    PC running Windows 7

I think that I thought about it.

On the small screen of the printer, I pressed SCAN, MENU wireless, WIRELESS SETTINGS, then NETWORK by DEFAULT

But then I did two different things and I'm not sure of the one who fixed it:

    (1) via the control panel of the PC, I have modified the properties of the printer.  I deleted a TC/IP port that uses the address of the old network and created a new using my new network address

    (2) I used the printer WPS function and my gateway (modem/router unit dig.) to synchronize.

Given that my printer is using the IP address that I hand-entered when I changed the properties of the printer, I think the change made things work.    I'm not sure.  Since his work, I'm done.

    Hello

I'm trying to connect my HP Photosmart C4780 to my network at home.

Whenever I try to set up my printer to my wireless network, I get the following HP Network Diagnostics Error Message:

Problems may exist with functions of the network printer.  Please try to solve the problem, and then click Retry, or click next to continue.  See below for details.

Your printer is unable to communicate with your printer at 192.168.1.69.  This can be the result of firewall software.  If you use a software firewall check that the 427 UDP port is unlocked for the incoming and outgoing traffic.

  • Photosmart C4780 wireless Mac connection failure

I, like some others I've seen messages on, will have exactly the same problem with my HP Photosmart C4780 of wireless connection to my MacBook.  I just bought this printer a couple of days with a new iMac (which I have not yet unpacked, yet).  I decided to see if I could go ahead and get the printer works with my Macbook.  Here is a breakdown of the specs, measures and tests.

    1 MacBook OS X 10.5.8 (Leopard) running.

    2. software is installed.

    3. to set up a wireless connection, the "Device unavailable" error appears in a dialog box.  This is the same error that others have had.  He continues with... "The network configuration has been correctly transferred to the device.  However, to continue the configuration of the device in the network, your Mac must have access to the device... ».

    4. I can load the page HTTP for my router (a Qwest Actiontec M1000) and see the IP address of the printer.

    5. I can successfully ping the the IP address Mac printers.

    6. I cannot correctly load the HTTP page to the printer via the IP address and the view that it is different pages.  I can even change some of the settings, however, apparently never really complete updates.

    7. After talking with HP support for more than 90 minutes (after waiting on hold for nearly 45 minutes, not a joke), we arrived at the conclusion that the modem/router must be the cause of the problem.  So, I was told to contact Qwest to get help.  Furthermore, technical support had me through many of the same steps I've seen on other items (for example, reset the printing system, uninstalling and reinstalling the software, reset my router, etc.).

8 next, before calling Qwest, I decided to see if I could get the printer runs on Windows.  Under WinXP SP2 on a platform completely separate (but), I was able to install the software correctly and successfully a wireless connection to the printer.  I rebooted the machine Windows several times and disconnected the power to the printer just to make the connection is when it was re-powered and rebooted.  And Yes, everything works perfectly on the Windows machine.  It tells me there is nothing wrong with the router (with a possible exception, which I will speak in a moment).

    9. given that the installation worked in the windows box, I decided to call HP.  This time I isn't that hold it for about 20 min.  I told them what the results were in the Windows world, and we proceeded to work on this issue with the Mac for about an hour.  We have made some of the same things, as for the first phone call, in addition to a few other checks.  It simply seems that software on Mac just cannot see the printer, which means that the HP software will be unable to see it as well.  It's very weird because I can still ping and also set up its Web page (on the Mac and Windows machines).  Now technology seems to think that this is a problem with Mac OS because it certainly works with a different OS with the same router.  I'm leaning toward the same conclusion as well.

    10. now for the question of the possible router I mentioned earlier.  I saw in another post where someone says hello.  Something the Actiontec only modems no routing of packets used by Hello.  I have absolutely no idea what the Hello devil is.  I tried to do a little research on this and am still confused as to what it is and what it does.  However, if Hello is something specific to the Mac and has nothing to do with the router itself, then it seems to me that the router had no knowledge of Hello (and certainly would not care).  Therefore, the ability of routers delivers packages for different platforms should not be affected by this Hello thing.  However, this does not mean the packets are not getting lost once they arrive at the Mac because of Hello (again, not knowing what it is).  Now if that's the case, then it seems to me that the problem would be with the Mac (in conjunction with this thing Hello), not the router.

    11. other positions reported this same problem wireless with this same printer using OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard).  If this is true, then when I finally unpack my new iMac, I expect to have the same problem... we'll see when I am near to it.  If he did not have this same problem, so maybe there is hope if I upgrade my MacBook to Snow Leopard.

If anyone has any other light to this problem, please let me know what might be the underlying issue, and how can I fix this (if someone already has).  Thank you.

Finally, problem solved!  Here is the solution, if someone else is facing a similar problem.

Since I found the IP address of the printer on the Web page of my router, I went in "Print and Fax" system preferences.  From there, I clicked on the sign "+" to add a printer.  Nothing appears in the default tab.  So, I went to the IP tab.  From there, I selected the Protocol for the "HP Jetdirect - Socket".  In the address field, I entered the IP address of the printer.  After a few moments, the printer was found and the field "Print using" is automatically filled with the print driver.  I clicked on "Add", and low and here's the printer now appears in my list of printers.

The second representative of HP I was working with me had to go through this same series of steps with one exception.  Never, we put the Protocol field.  He was left as default "Line Printer Daemon - LPD".  When this was done, nothing ever appeared.  So, I think that the trick was to change the field Protocol, as shown here.

I hope this helps those who have a similar problem.  Good luck.

OK, let's check some basic first things.  Are you printer connected to YOUR router or your PC?  Print a Test of the network wirelessly from the configuration > network area of the front of the printer.  There, it will tell you the name of the network to which it is attached.

Compare the IP address to your printer.  Is - it the same, except the last numbers?

My Photosmart C4780 worked just well, wireless, and now I can't print unless I connect it to my laptop or desktop via the usb cord.  I'm under that Mac OSX 10.9 with the Mavricks downloaded on both computers.  I was able to print from my Mac Mini, iPhone, iPad and MacBook Air all without problem, but now my WiFi network Test report said that I do not see "Network name (SSID found)".  The Configuration Page of my status Netowrk said HP network is Offline and my Active connection Type is None, but I can see my network under number of 802.11 networks discovered.  I think I just need to connect or reconnect the printer to the network but I can't find how to do this anywhere on the help site.  Can someone tell me how to connect my printer to my network now?  When I first installed it on the network, I had no 10.9 OSX with Mavricks so the installation CD works perfectly, but it does not work either.  One last thing, when I try to use the screen on the printer and go through the WIFI Protected Setup the two push button and PIN fails.  HELP PLEASE...

  • Problems connecting my computer to my wireless network when Photosmart C4780 is connected

    Hello

I recently bought a new printer Photosmart C4780 wireless. It works fine via USB, but I seem to have problems when I try to set up with my router.

    Here's what happens:

First of all, I run the Setup on the CD supplied with the printer (while connected wireless to my network).  I am going through the different steps and after Setup finds my network settings to give to the printer. After that, the Setup program tries to find the printer on the network.  It goes very well for about 4 or 5 seconds while the printer connects to my wireless... but then, once the printer connects, my computer disconnects causing an error Setup can not communicate with the printer because I'm not connected to a network.

    What is going on?

If anyone can solve this problem for me, that would be amazing and be a great help!

    Chuck

I'm sorry to say this but there are problems between SMC routers and HP printers.

Search this forum MUCH info on the subject.
