Is "Logmein" microsoft support service? is it a scam?

Is "Logmein" microsoft support service?  I think I'm scammed me and allowed a so-called tech from Microsoft to connect to my computer and then hung up. What should I do now?  How can I know if they are still connected and what they put on my computer?  Help!  I googled Microsoft Tech support and got this information

* original title - think I got scammed... HELP! *

No, it's not Microsoft.  Almost certainly, they tried to put malware on your computer or steal information from you.

The best way would be to assume that you have been infected by malicious software - the best advice of deletion I've seen are given by SpiritX in infected by the virus-how to remove?

If you have any password, account / card numbers or pins on your computer, you had better likewise assume that they have been copied.

Good luck with all that,

Yes, you are right not to trust that it is not windows or any part of Microsoft support services.

This is a complete scam and one that has become very common these days. . Don't think anything such a caller said, do nothing that he tells you to do and hang up on him immediately.

  • Microsoft Support person acting maybe in a weird way.

I would like to re - install Windows 7 on my desktop.
I tried to do this with my original Windows 7 Ultimate DVD, but it kept rejecting my original key.

So I contacted Microsoft Support. They have created a ticket and I was contacted a week later saying the key had been reactivated, and that I should try to download the ISO from the recovery site using my key. I tried, but I got an error - "we had a problem with the product key that you provided.  Visit the Microsoft Support page please contact us for assistance.  Refer to the Message Code 715-123130. »

So I contacted here again today, using chat support - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus/setupandinstallation?wa=wsignin1.0#gsproductselector/productid/509

This time, the person asked me to share my desktop using a service called "logmein". She then used IE to download Win - 7 ISO from this website - http://getintopc.com/softwares/operating-systems/windows-7-all-in-one-iso-free-download/

The said person so that I could burn this ISO disc and use my old key to re - install the operating system.

    So my questions-

1 is this normal for the support staff to this? like asking to share desktop just to download the ISO?

    2. Why does the person use a website non-microsoft to download the ISO? I asked this person the same question and answer - "I just provided you the direct download of the ISO file because the server is down." I'm sorry I did not inform you about the of this. »

  • Firefox will always be a way course surf the web using a Windows XP computer after that leaves Microsoft support Windows XP?

Windows XP is still my favorite operating system, but Microsoft will give up support in the coming days. If I understand correctly, shortly after which using Windows Internet Explorer to surf the web on a computer running Windows XP (or can) make the computer vulnerable to piracy. It will be the same for the use of Mozilla Firefox on a computer that is running Windows XP?
I think I saw an ad for Google Chrome with that they would continue to support the browser for use on a Windows XP computer. I think that Google said they would keep releasing patches to secure the Chrome. Can anyone confirm that and more importantly, is Mozilla Firefox secure? Also, should I uninstall Internet Explorer on my Windows XP computer when leaving Microsoft support?

Note - I am posting this with a newer computer that works under Windows 7 64-bit.

Firefox will continue to work with Windows XP. At best, in the near future, I could see the required configuration to encountered to Windows XP with Service Pack 3 (obligation is SP2 for now). Security in Firefox patches are the same, regardless of the version of Windows you are using.

Keep in mind that without security updates, the operating system itself will be precarious. What browser and software security that you use will not change.

Internet Explorer is a component of the system, and you should not attempt to remove it in Windows Vista and lower. From Windows 7, there's a way of kind of uninstall from the control panel.

  • Help and Support service does not

    Original title: Windows XP Services
I would like to first of all a service that is running, but when I try to open system information, I get a message that the help and Support service is not running.  How can I start the help and Support service if I can't in the system services?

Help and Support doesn't have to be set to automatic for her to work.  You can leave the Manual value and it will start when it needs start (if he can).

You will see only the message you describe if the H & S Service is disabled if your H & S subsystem is afflicted in some way.  If the H & S Service is not disabled, you have a different problem.

You don't describe symptoms suggestive of a need to run sfc/scannow or symptoms suggestive of a need to register the hhctrl.ocx file, but at least he has a link to a Microsoft KB article in this answer MSE.

You can unregister the file hhctrl.ocx and H & S will always launch very well (but the Index button will not work).

These ideas don't make sense to me.

Do try these things and see how they work.

When I'm in 'http://support.microsoft.com/?ln=en-ca' in the upper right corner of the screen, it is said: 'change of Canada. " Which I guess means that I am on the Canadian Web site, since I live in the Canada.

I click on Contact a technician of technical support by email, online or by phone

As it is Windows "Windows Vista Home Premium" edition. "Service Pack 1". "System type: 64-bit operating system. And my "Product ID: ' 12345-XXX-1234567-12345.

  • Bluetooth support service does not start on VISTA

When I go into the Services Panel it shows of Support Bluetooth Service is set to automatic but not started. When I try to start this service, it gives me error: 1053 indicating that the service has failed within a reasonable time. I have a MX5500 Revolution keyboard and mouse combo that works very well. But when I try to put the mini hub so he could accept the other BT devices, it hangs, freezes or crashes. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the software several times with no luck. I know that the reason that this happens, it's the BT support service does not start. Any help is appreciated.

  • Microsoft Customer Service - additional views Abomnitable

Can someone tell me how to avoid spending hours of frustration with the Microsoft Customer Service? I pay for this service. I have a firewall problem which was caused by a Microsoft technician last week and I'm trying to get it resolved. Microsoft response service invariably sent me to the wrong support group. Before that I have to find that point, I'm put on hold for a long time. After another long wait, I talk with someone who is trying to solve the problem and can not. This person either loses the phone connection. I must then call back and start over. Problems to be solved are deceptively simple.  I think those tech people would be really useful. Original title: cannot connect Yoga 11 on behalf of Microsoft (Win RT)

    Hi all

A week ago, I bought the new Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 11, win RT

All air well excluding the following problem: I couldn't move the laptop to my Microsoft account.
Currently, the laptop is connected to the local account, but that does not allow me to use SkyDrive and MS Store.

    I tried on:
Went to Setup, press the button, then I asked to provide my local password and then my email.

Finally, the white rectangle appeared for half a minute about, and then following message will appear:
    Connect with the Microsoft account.
The service is not available right now - please try again later.

I tried for a week, to no avail.

I don't know that my Microsoft account works well. I can connect using a web browser.

I called Lenovo support, but they won't help me because, as they say, they have no idea about the problems of Microsoft. And they directed me to MS support.

So I called MS support service, they told me that they do not support Windows RT. As they say: Windows RT IS NOT a MICROSOFT PRODUCT, every HW vendor built for her own use he wants. And they sent me to the support of Lenovo.

    Catch-22. Deadlock.
    ... ...

    Everyone faced with similar problem?
    What would you suggest?

    Thank you in advance!

PS. It was also a problem with the activation of Windows. Finally I did over the phone.

Finally, I managed to switch to MS account. The date of the laptop was wrong.

    The issue is closed.

Can you post the error message you get when you try to install or launch iTunes?

For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Review the other boxes and other support documents list to the bottom of the page, in case one of them applies.

The more information box has direct links with the current and recent if you have problems to download, must revert to an older version or want to try the version of iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) as a workaround for problems with installation or operation, or compatibility with third-party software.
