Is MOM dictate speed of memory?

Hello world

I have a motherboard P5LP - THE 2 yr old Compaq Presario sr 5050 nx, Intel pentium D 925 processor. I have 3 GB of ram installed, with 1 GB on the channel 1 & 3. 512 MB on the channel 2 & 4. Put in a new hard drive comes after a failure and now I want to upgrade the ram to 4 GB.

Here's the question: my card Asus says mobo supprts until DDR2 5300 667 mhz sdram. CPU FSB is 800.  HP recommends care DDR2 4200 533 mhz. So if I can run 667 or he will get restricted to 533 in other ways or works not at all which means I'll just size my extra dollars to the faster RAM memory?

Is there something else in the system that dictates the speed in addition to the motherboard and processor of ram but not channel configuration, because I want to install 4 - Crucial 1 GB sticks?

Thank you for your support

This unit will support up to 4gigs memory DDR2-5300. The speed of the memory will be at 667 MHz. If you want to use more 3gigs of memory, you must run the 64-bit operating system.

    Apple says the following:

    General requirements

    • OS X 10.6.8 or later version

    • 8.8 GB of available storage

For best performance, I would say not less 4 GB and preferably 8 GB or more.

  • AMD APU Kaveri (like E555) - what speed of memory?

Anyone know the max memory possible for Thinkpad E555 speed in a more recent double module and with BIOS configuration?

AMD lists in some documents of different possible speeds for single SO-DIMM and SO-DIMM and dual level as single or double rank. He claims that there could be a fall to 1333 MHz even. But what is the reality for the Lenovo Thinkpads? I found no official document on this.

There are brands (such as Kingston HyperX Impact) which have DDR3 SO-DIMM available for 1600 MHz, 1866 MHz and 2133 MHz, so that this is not offered specifficaly as being compatible with the E555.

  • Speed of memory X 51 - R2, what's the problem?

So, from the first day my bios has read my memory speed as 1333 in the BIOS and AIDA 64. The sticks that came with the computer were SK Hynix (16 GB) and I have just recently went down and bought (16 GB) memory Corsair. I did several tests memory with Mem86 +, ePSA and also the memory Windows... Tested each stick individually and both together. Because the BIOS is locked by Alienware I have no options to adjust the voltage or frequency. Am I missing something or is capped at 1333 motherboard? The Alienware specs clearly say 1600. Thanks in advance.

BeamerMT79... thx 4 the answer... its 1600 list now. I got a stick on the computer and it showed the 1600 in the bios... so I turned off and put the other stick and now it shows 1600 for both. I guess you who call the fix 1 stick?

  • Speed of memory after adding memory and upgrading the video card problem.

My XPS 410 ships in September 2007 with a Core 2 Quad (Q6600) 2.4 ghz processor and two gigs of 800 mhz DDR2 SDRAM. Recently, I added two concerts more than 800 mhz DDR2 SDRAM and replaced my GeForce 8600 GTS with a GeForce 9500 GT with 1 GB of video memory. When I started the system, all four gigabytes of memory have been recognized, but was only running at 667 mhz. Can I fix this? This means that the original memory, or the new memory is really 667 mhz DDR2 SDRAM and not the 800 mhz DDR2 SDRAM I paid for? There are other possible reasons for this?

    Hi RuralDigital,

I will need some additional information to help you best.

Ø you have 32 bit or 64 bit Vista?

O do you have 667 MHz RAM in your computer?

When you use one more memory RAM clocked with one less clocked the two Rams, RAM will run at a lower speed RAM, that means that when you install a DDR2 667 MHz and DDR2 800 MHz clock speed, maximum RAM memory will be lower among the 2 cylinders speed, i.e., 667 Mhz.

Then I suggest you to check if the speed of the Rams is the same.

  • Speed of memory M6400 seems slow

    I have a BIOS A13 M6400 running.  8 GB RAM DDR3-1600 installed (4x2Go).

I rum Memtest86 + and reports of memory is in 3 917 MB/s access.  It seems terribly slow for DDR3.  On my other units running DDR3 memory speed is closer to 8000 to 12000 MB/s.  This speed of less than 4 000 MB/s memory is more like the speeds of DDR2 ram.

I greeted Memtest86 + to run one day on this machine with no errors of memory and without overheating.

I have reset the BIOS to factory default... just in case.

All four memory modules are identical to the manufacturer and the model (I'm OCD like that).

Memtest86 + reports the bus memory clocked at 561 MHz (DDR3-1123).

The machine is still in good working condition (or it seems that Yes) and I wish to keep to a certain extent low around computing tasks, but not if this speed memory testifies to some kinds of chip failure.

The best, you have to get out of this system is 1066 MHz - the Core 2 Duo CPU cannot execute RAM faster than that.  If you see somewhere around 533 MHz on the memory bus, this is quite normal.

The following generations of processor (i7) authorized operation 1333 MHz - but that is far beyond the capabilities of this older system.

Why do you start multiple views on the same issue?
You asked him about it in your first assignment:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=13168

The fact is that the chipset is 865PE and ICH5 most motherboards with this chipset can use DDR400/333/266 DIMM memory modules.
With your first assignment you can find modules that you can use. (266 / 333 Mhz)
I think you can also use the 400 MhZ modules.

  • Speeding change memory

IM aware that updated the memory is memory must be written to the disk before it can be used, but how do I do as usual windows 7 well do things. Its able to write about 1-5 MB of data on the disk and then rising again.

I have a laptop HP G61 with 4 GB of RAM

    The current memory usage

    Reserved material: 98 MB

In service: 1267 MB (with 2 browsers explore open)

Updated the: 49 mb (I know it's not much, but I normally between 22-31 MB)

    Standby: 777 MB

    Free: 1905 mb

I know its something little, but I want to know how to write the data to disk and why its not properly to do on its own.

    Thank you guys

    Hello

I wish to inform you that there is nothing wrong with the memory of change to your computer.

Updated is a memory that has been allocated by an application and then deleted from the working set of the application, usually because it has not been used for a long time. The fact that the major part of your memory is in this state means two things:

    1. some app (or several apps) attributed a lot of memory and is not actively using most of it. Often (but), it's because of a memory leak in the application.
    2. the swap file is not large enough to make the system move all this unused memory to disk.

Please report if you encounter any problems related to Windows and we will be happy to help you further.

  • Satellite Pro A100 - 828 Max memory speed

    Hello

Can someone please tell me the max speed of memory for Satellite Pro A100-828, I'm wanting to move to the 4 GB maximum but is some sites say the maximum speed is 533 MHz while others say to 667 MHz. For example, the Toshiba site lists only memory 533 MHz under the "Compatible" Options yet other sites list 667 MHz memory as compatible.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

You should check which bus (FSB) front would support.
Install the hardware diagnostic tool like Everest home edition, and you should be able to find this value.

If your chipset would support 667 Mhz then you can use these modules and the modules would go with 667 Mhz too.

  • CQ61-319WM and AC twin memory RAM speed

I bought the CQ61-319WM with / 3 GB or RAM.  The provided configuration is a badly matched set of a 1 GB SODIMM (A-Data) and a 2 GB SODIMM (Samsung).  According to CPU - Z 1.54, both pieces is 400 MHz (DDR2 - 800 MHz), latency CASE 6-6-6-18-24 and according to Memtest86 + 4.00, the result is speed of the RAM of 3481 MB/s using 64-bit transfers (single channel access).

Upgrading to a configuration usually total memory dual channel results in a good Speed up, I decided to replace the 1 GB SODIMM with another 2 GB.

I had a piece of 2 GB to another previous project, but it was a version special high speed with latency CASE of 5-5-5-18-23.  I decided that a pair of them so completely taken over would be the best that I could reach, so I bought a second piece (about 80 $ CAN) and put them in.  I've also upgraded the BIOS F.13 (and my Memtest86 + 4.10).

The result is better, but not as good as it could be.  Reports of CPU - Z full CASE 5-5-5-18 is used and I think it's saying that the dual channel is active (or he's saying that the RAM can support double channel - I am not sure).

Memtest 86 + (4.00 and 4.10 versions) indicate that the CASE has indeed changed to 5-5-5-18, but that access is still 64-bit (single channel) and the speed of RAM increased to 3614 MB/s.

3614 MB/s is faster than 3481 MB/s, it is not as fast as I expect 5-5-5-18-23 memory to be if it is currently running dual channel (128-bit access).

I believe that the BIOS has probably decided to stay "single channel" because the RAM is in a configuration that was unexpected (because the latency CASE is too fast).  However, this probably means that if I buy another piece of 'standard' 800 MHz DDR2 (CASE 6-6-6-18-24) and install it with the original Samsung RAM, it will probably run at full dual channel (128-bit).  Such a configuration should be faster than what I'm running now, despite the fact that the RAM by piece real speed is slower.

Anyone used this RAM (2 x (2 GB, 800 MHz, CL6)) the installation program?  Can anyone confirm that the result is a configuration complete dual channel?  I can buy the RAM, but if she does not run dual channel, so it's just a waste of money.

Note: It would certainly NOT let fall to the bottom as for two-channel to 667 MHz.  Such a decline would result in approximately 2600 MB/s even double channel speeds up access.

I heard generally good.  Curiosity prevailed, and I bought one more piece of RAM.  This piece has been another 2 GB DDR2 800 MHz SODIMM, but this time with the same latency than the original equipment numbers (CASE 6-6-6-18-24).  I installed it with the original Samsung CQ61-319WM and speed of memory that result was exactly the same as the pair (CASE 5-5-5-18-23) faster RAM.  The computer has finished 3-pass of Memtest86 + 4.10 as the fastest pair of RAM, confirming also the speed.

This tells me that the speed increase had nothing to do with issues of latency, and she had to come from the increase in speed of access memory (128-bit) 'Dual Channel '.

As to why Memtest86 + 4.10 is reported as "single channel", I feel that the answer may have to do with the RAM 'Side Port' CQ61 graphics system.  According to published specifications, this computer has 128 MB GDDR2 (and memory).  It does not say how this memory is configured.  If it is the only channel (128-bit), then it could be that Memtest86 + sees.

To confirm this, I took the pair of quick latency RAM and put it in another computer that uses an older AMD 690 chipsets, and the same pair of RAM ran in dual channel mode on the other computer, but at a lower speed of 667 MHz.  Therefore, it seems that AMD memory controllers have probably no problem with this pair of RAM running in dual channel in general.

While nothing that I've done is quite conclusive, indicates that this computer was probably working with access memory dual channel for two configurations of 4 GB RAM I used.

In any case, I'll leave the slower RAM in the computer because whenever I change my configuration of memory, I have to lose more than 3 hours running Memtest86 + to check it's OK.  If I did not need to get an acceleration, I will use the faster RAM later in something else.

There might be a reason to use the best of the RAM (which is probably more recent technology and probably using a little less power), but I don't want to spend more time on this issue.

How much memory can I mount in a Tecra M10 - 1CN and should be in two 200 pin SO DIMM DDR2 PC2-6400 800 MHz modules

    Hello

Expand the memory depends on the chipset of the motherboard
The Tecra M10 supports the chipset Mobile Intel GM45 Express and this chipset DDR2 800 MHz RAM 8 GB max

So first of all, that you can use 2 x 4 GB RAM modules, and on the other hand the speed of memory is limited to 800 MHZ.

Even if you use faster modules i.e. 1033 Mhz FSB would clock speed to 800 Mhz so it s not worth to use faster than the DDR2 800 Mhz modules
