When can we expect to see the new custom image ESXi 5.5 Update 2? I just checked VMWare site and I see 1 update but not update 2.  Is there a method of supported / recommended update servers UCS to ESXi 5.5 Update 2 in the meantime?

    (1) use this utility to understand what enic / fnic is necessary. EG.for U2 5.5 ESXi

    Adapter = 2.2 Firmware (3)

    (2) install ESXi 5.5 U2, iso regular (Non OEM version) of the VMware Web site

    (3) get the fnic above / enic pilot since an ISO image of the UCS-based drivers

  • Could not import data - ESXi 4.1 Update 1 Bundle Update Manager

I try to import the update on my vc Server Pack to update esxi 4.1 update 1. vCenter is already updated to the most recent updated release as is the Update Manager.

I'm not sure what Im doing wrong or what lack of Im. I tried the zip and iso. They two results in the same error. Saying can not verify the checksum data to import the upgrade file, blah, blah blah blah blah...

I wanted to add, I have reviewed the article and the time stamp is displayed as correct in the package so I'm really at a loss.

vcenter to go home - Solutions and Applications - Update Manager - Configuration Settings - download Patch - click on the link that says "Import Patches" and see what happens.

In addition, for what it's worth, you need not import the zip / ISO to go to U1, has created a patch base, and U1 will be in this patch database.

    Well, I have work.

Here's what I had to do:

Follow the instructions here free: http://kb.lsi.com/KnowledgebaseArticle15548.aspx

They are a little dated, but they get the essential overall.

He suggested significant changes to the CLI:

    Add a c - to order.

    So, I found myself running:

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware vSphere CLI\bin > vihostupdate.pl perl-Server x.x.x.x - root username - password rootpassword - b D:\Sandbox\3ware\offline-bundle.zip-i c

Regarding the out-of-line-bundle used: take the file listed for the 9550 for ESX(I) non - here: http://kb.lsi.com/KnowledgebaseArticle15753.aspx#vmware

There should be a link to VMware_noncertified_ESX_and_ESXi_4.0_GA_4.0_u1_4.1_GA_4.1_u1_driver_and_twcli_for_9500s_9550sxu.zip

    Inside, it is a 3w - 9xxx.iso (a tw_cli)

the off - bundle.zip extracted the ISO and use it.

  • ESXI 4.0 Update 1 and 2

I have a two nodes in the cluster running ESXI 4.0. I have the cluster managed by Vcenter 4.1 running Update Manager. I try to use Manager Update to patch my nodes to update 1 and 2.  Whenever I try to import the ISO it fails. I am told that this update manager cannot verify checksums. It is possible to update ESXI 4.0 Update 1 and 2 using the Update Manager?

You should not download the media in MUV.  Just create a patch for U2 host base and attach it to your host.  U2 is out on 10/06/2010. If you can take a walk or after that date.  There are also patches of U2 released 09/30/10

  • Restrictions does not not after ISO put 10.0.1 update with the new iPhone 7

Restrictions does not after ISO put 10.0.1 update with the new iPhone 7 any which option of ranking app I don't choose no changes are made.  All the patches?

    Thank you

    Hello Launcher,

Thank you for bringing your question about Restrictions here in Apple Support communities. My understanding of your question is that you change the Restrictions, but no change is noticed. I tried the same on my iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 10 and noticed a similar situation. Please allow me the opportunity to explain how the Restrictions is designed to work. First, I put my limitations for applications, do not allow Apps and together 4 +, which basically means everything beyond 4 + will be blocked from buying. Then I went to the App Store and the first app that caught my attention was NCIS: hidden crimes. This app is rated 12 + and is definitely an application I would not want my toddler to help. It is that Restrictions come into play. When I type on NCIS: hidden Crimes, the Get option is grayed out. Restrictions does remove all apps, songs, books, etc. from view, but it will prevent the purchase, download, and install all applications rated above the setting you choose when you set up restrictions. It's the help article that discusses the Restrictions and prevent purchases: Use Restrictions in order to avoid buying on iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

I checked on the restrictions help articles, and I understand where it can be a bit confusing. In the help article Use Restrictions on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, it says "You can use Restrictions, also known as parental control, to block or limit specific applications and features on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch." This means in fact that apps, features or services (rated above that helped you, or if you have turned off completely) can he no longer appears on the device if the restriction is activated and starts blocking them. I also tested this by activating Restrictions and turned the cursor for Safari to off. When I went back to the home screen, Safari doesn't show any more and I could no longer use it.

I hope this helps to clarify how the Restrictions. If my understanding of the issue was not accurate to the issue that you are experiencing, I will be happy to pursue this issue with you. Please indicate exactly what you took measures, and what expectations you had or the some restrictions, applications, features, or services you are restricted. Thanks again and have a great rest of your day!

    Guys,

I tried found Installation ISO for premium Cisco License Manager, deployed in a brand new installation of 10.x responsible for Cisco's Communication. The virtual machine will be independent PLM, I read the installation guide, downloaded the EGG file to deploy on the vCenter, but I couldn't find where is the file ISO of downloadable Installation of PLM, maybe I'm not looking for the correct download page site.

Any help on this is appreciated.

    Thank you

    The ISO non-bootanle is here:

    https://software.Cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=286265616&flowid=... (2) & relind = & rellifecycle = & reltype = last

You can convert not bootable to bootable with some searching in google.

The ISO bootable must be requested through the tool SET.

  • using vmware update manager to update Dell M630 ESXI 5.5 update 3

I use put vmware update manager (VUM) up-to-date Dell M630 ESXI 5.5 updated 3. The Dell build was published on 11/13/15.

The results of the baseline VUM are attached. I was surprised that some older patches from 2014 are suggested, and even complete full update and 2 update 3. Is a common practice to just update with whataver MUV said, or is it best to get VUM to apply the patches after the date of release of a version of the seller?

If missing the update you must certainly apply. I'm just going by what suggests Manager Update and apply all the patches.

  • USB or HDD space for new server ESXi 5.5 updated 3 current enforcement?

    Hello

We get a new DELL server to run ESXi 5.5 update 3.

Just find out there is an embedded version of ESXi 5.5 update 3 on a USB is connected.

We would like to know what meaning it is best to run ESXi - USB or Local HARD disk?  I think that if she runs on the Local HARD disk, we can remote access via DRAC card.   In addition, we do not use any local HD (i.e. no VSAN) and so there is no loss if VMware runs on the HD.

    Your opinion is requested.

    Thank you

    Hello.

With ESXi on USB/SD is supported by VMware, so no problem here. Remember that if you use these devices, you'd probably set the partition scratching at some storage 'persistent '. I personally use one of the data stores for all guests, I have it in one place.

I don't understand why you assuming that through a port USB as a boot device will not provide access to DCUI via the DRAC? Boot device has no importance here...

So, to answer your question: you

  • Update Server VC and 5.5 ESXi hosts to update 3 b (Build 3248547)

I'm in vCenter Server 5.5 and 5.5 ESXi hosts.  Both are updated 3A, patched to version 201510001, which is the build 3116895.  I plan the upgrade of update 3 b (Build 3248547) and I'm a little confused on the question of SSLv3.

I wonder if this point below ESXi55 U3b & VC 55U3b Known Issues applies to my config:

ESXi does not automatically added to the inventory of the vCenter servers
If you install an earlier version of vCenter Server and vSphere Update Manager for ESXi 5.5 updated 3B, then after the task of sanitation, ESXi does not automatically added to the VC inventory. Remediation process never gets done and ESXi State of connection in the VC inventory is presented as disconnected. Solution: When you restart ESXi after reorganization process is started, enable SSLv3 on ESXi (which is disabled by default). This will ensure that ESXi is added to the VC inventory automatically in minutes and sanitation as completed.

If I'm reading things correctly, upgrade to vCenter Server to 3 b first and then upgrade the ESXi hosts, will avoid lost communication problems.  Can anyone confirm?

It should be good if you update vCenter first.

The problem is that pre - U3b vCenter 5.5 forces an SSLv3 connection when connecting to an ESXi host on port 443 (not the reverse). It does this, even if the host ESXi and vCenter SSL/TLS libraries actually support TLS 1.0 + since at least vSphere 4.0.

So when you update one host to 5.5 U3b, the oldest vCenter again will try to force a connection SSLv3 that will fail, since SSLv3 has been disabled to the host. If you're updating vCenter, first of all, it will initiate a good TLS 1.0 + connection to more similar and updated hosts.

Here is an explanation of the (pre - U3b) vCenter SSLv3 handshake behavior:

  • Upgrade of the 3 HP VMware ESXi 5.1 update kills Emulex network and cannot be cancelled?

    People,

I have a serious issue here after the upgrade of the HP Blade 465 BL c G7 with adapter Emulex NC551i double Port FlexFabric 10 Gb..

The problem: after the successful online update of ESXi 5.1 Update 2 Patch 5 (2000251) in ESXi 5.1 update 3 (2323236) the ESXi server cannot be crazy, or it can ping to the outside network, so she doesn't have to reconnect to the VCenter server.

    Software/Firmware version:

The version before the upgrade of the server are:

    ~ # ethtool-i vmnic0

    pilot: be2net

    version: 10.2.293.0

    firmware version: 4.9.416.2

    bus-info: 0000:04:00.0

    ~ #

Since the version above does not work, I managed to download VMW-ESX-5.1.0-be2net-10.2.477.20-offline_bundle-2541837.zip for upgrade the driver VMNic in: 10.2.477.20 but still after the update and restart the network is not able-ping.

    ROLLBACK:

I also tried to restore to previous work ESXi Server version 2000251 to the help of SHIFT-R but the ESXi server still restart as 2323236 with a network that still worked.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated without having to reconfigure the settings of ESXi and the configuration of the switch distributed from scratch.

According to the recipe of HP/VMware here: http://vibsdepot.hp.com/hpq/recipes/HP-VMware-Recipe.pdf

There is a note about the NC551i:

  • Configuration of VLAN for vMotion (ESXi 5.1 update 3)

    Hello

We use a cluster of ESXi 5.1 updated 3 guests with Enterprise Edition.

Finally, our network is being upgraded and VLAN will be created for vMotion.  Currently, we use the local network for the management and vMotion (I know that's not good).

Network administrator asks me to provide information concerning the requirement of the VLAN for vMotion.

Is there any Document KB I can refer to mentioning that the administrator must put in place in the physical switch and I need to change in each vSwitch for vMotion on all ESXi hosts?

    Thank you

Belong to your network administrator if it can link your vmotion IP to the same vlan that he will provide den it's possible.

Otherwise, you will have to go to the configuration of your network administrator. so it can provide you the IP for the ports of vmotion.
