• Issue of V-Switch virtual network, possible configuration of VLAN

  A screenshot of doc word of my virtual network is attached. I'm trying to get my external labeled Virtual Switch (vSwitch2) talk to the VM (vSwitch0) network switch. My goal here is to be able to connect a physical PC into the switch labeled vmnic1 external physical and be able to convert a virtual PC VM via a cross over cable. I don't know that it would be in the same subnet as the network of VM vmic0. Do I have to install some kind of vlan etc... The physical box with XP on it can perhaps start with DHCP and enter an IP address on the same subnet bridged somehow of the external vmnic1 in the VM Network vmnic0. What is the easiest more quick to make this work? Please see the attachment.  Thanks in advance for your help

• Switches distributed without uplinks

  In ESXi, you can create a vSwitch and not bind a plink to the vSwitch.  This allows for connectivity for virtual machines connected to this switch.

  There is a similar option for vSphere?  We love named latter distributed switches but not having does not add an uplink.

  This will allow communication between the virtual machine, but does not affect the physical network.

  Any suggestions?

  You have a distributed without uplink switch, but if you plan to use in the set of boxes, it will not work. Distributed switch requires the uplinks to communicate between ESX' are.

• Management switch fabric interconnect?

  I have installed a proof of concept system UCS blade for a client and you notice something a little strange. After racking and cabling, I configured the ports for the management of access to the ICF and configured VPC on the Nexus 5010 for uplink of the FIC. I was a bit of a hurry and did not check the two management ports have been active (stupid mistake, I know). The system comes with firmware 1.3 installed so I've been upgraded to 1.4 to illustrate the features of the latest and greatest. During the upgrade process I kept problems and had to recover some bad BIOS upgrade. I also started having problems connecting to the KVM console. I assumed it was also related to the firmware update (not always smooth the UCS still) and tried to diagnose the problem. After checking status CIMC and the event logs, reset, reloading the firmware, reseeding of servers, done pretty much everything I could think of, I thought maybe it was a problem upstream. A range of IP addresses that was perhaps already in use elsewhere in the network. None of this has been the problem.

  Instead, the issue was that the management interface 0 on FIC - B was arrested on the uplink switch. I activate the port and everything is cool! I can connect to all KVM consoles for all servers. My question is, with the L1/L2 connections available, why has no access MMIC browse this link? Why at least didn't UCSM reviews management on FIC - B interface was declining and forcing all connections of CIMC by FIC - A or give some sort of warrning FIC - B 0 management interface is down?

  It was a very frustrating issue. I would not for someone else have a link fail management and need to iterate through all the possibilities for a day as I did.

  L1/L2 cables are only for the clsuter and have no data flowing into it. The answer or the solution to what you ask does not exist in version 1.4.

  You must enable the "Interface political Monitorning of management" (from the tab Admin-> Management Interfaces), which is disabled by default.

  Once configured FIs them will have intelligence to monitor the status of each FI and failure mgmt0 interface dependencies will be moved to the other END.

  I had two of them in a row.  It happened when I unplugged a switch device.  I don't know if there is something of a known issue with this switch, or I see a hardware failure.

• MAC Flaping after I Uplink AP chest

  I have configured my APs to transmit the SSID on VLAN 204, with managing IP's in 98 VLAN. Customer are authicating but now I get messages stating syslog I have MAC beat betteewn the uplink of the AP and the uplink switch. I have not now what is cauing this. Here is the error.

  Hi Atle,

  Yes we need a l2 of common platforms for VLAN set them on the UCS, as the two FI create two different fabrics (A & B) and all traffic on the blade on B A and vice versa should be settled by the switches upstream. If you do not have a common upper the 3560 and 3750 the then you need to have a link between the two switches. Make sure that enable the VLAN (set on ucs and others if necessary) on these ports but also to ensure that the protocols spanning-tree does not block the.

  I'm not very sure of your second question, but on what I understand:

  (1) If you have several links will even pass his favorite to put in a purchase order

  I have 1 uplink 10 Gbps each of my FI. I need to remove 10G and connect 1 G instead. A two cables in parllel to 10G and connect to uplink switch and then remove the link to 10G without no interruption of service.

  Also can I connect the new 2 x 1 Gbps links in portchannel.

  Option 1

  (1) so that the 10 g link is present

  • Connect 2 x 1 Gbps link in parllel to switch corresponding upstream
  • Remove 10 Gbps link

  Option 2

  (1) so that the 10 g link is present

  • Connect 2 x 1 Gbps link in parllel to switch corresponding upstream
  • Group new links in portchannel from the uplink Manager
  • remove the 10 Gbps link

  After you have create a pc 1 2 links, the new outgoing sessions will be loadbalanced on the pc and the link to 10 G; also, UCS will re-balance the outgoing sessions (I think that its about every 10 minutes) and achieve a same load (sessions! bandwidth).

  I ended up connecting to a laptop computer directly in the uplink switch to a virtual LAN management port. I'm using the correct user name and password. I have disabled the firewall on my laptop. Still no luck. The backup fails every time.

  Path you have given is not correct. C:\SCP that the installed application will understand.

  To the FI, you must provide the path to the linux format. For example if you have the ucsbackup under the C:\SCP folder, and then specify the name of the folder in the remote path.

  Hello, I have a question about the API VeriStand using LabVIEW. LabView is able to open a specific project of VS; now, I mean VS to open the same project file with a file from another workspace (.nivsscreen) similar like the box below, but with the API:

  There is not an API to directly modify the screen workspace or ask running workspace to load a particular screen.

  I think going that you can accomplish what you want, leaving to know the definition of deployed system but by program by selecting different workspaces to display via the API. It is a small roundabout and there are a few quirks of cosmetics that I mention below, but it's probably worth a look. I am attaching an example below, you can play.

  The main idea is to create a system definition file, and then create several separate project VeriStand files which all related to the same system definition. You can do this in the dialog box create a new project by selecting the tab system definition to use a definition from existing system rather than create a new one. For each project you create, modify the file to corresponding workspace screens for some display you like.

  Once you have done this, use execution > Workspace screws to deploy by programming the system definition file. It is important that do you rather than deploy the system through the project definition file, as I'll explain below. Then, you can take advantage of the project API screw for programmically load and close projects, as well as launch and close the workspace for this project. To view a particular workspace, just close the current project (if it is open) and load the project associated with this workspace. Then ask this project to open his window to the workspace.

  The key thing to note here is that if a project load and it detects that VeriStand bridge is already linked to its definition of linked system, it will just adopt that opens the connection. In addition, if the project is closed, it will NOT cancel the deployment of this system gateway definition connection, because it doesn't have to deploy it in the first place.

  See the example below. Just unzip all the files in the same folder and open the Automator.vi workspace. Make sure VeriStand is open before you run this VI.

• Because I downloaded the new firmwear I have been unable to renew my subscription titles.
