It does screen on startup

Im having a lot of trouble with windows vista. Im not computer retarded and I normally know how to fix things that go wrong. I have recently returned from college, turned on my computer and walked downstairs while I waited to get everything started. When I got back to my computer, I noticed that the screen was discolored with pins on it and it just looked very poor quality and low resolution. (I can upload a photo if necessary) Then I noticed the error "windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown. Panic on the low quality of the screen, I saw and all fading, I restarted my computer. I noticed the same thing when you restart. And then I saw the error "host process rundll32 has stopped working." I don't remember not all see that before it happened and maybe that's the problem? I tried to download a registry scanner is still says that my resolution should be at least 800 x 600. (My resolution is equipped like 1080 x 724 or something like that). So, I was shocked to discover when I opened my control panel that my resolution is 600 x 400. I thought that maybe that's why my computer monitor image looked like on these *. So I tried to change my resolution to its original setting, and it won't come back. In addition, System Restore does not open. I click to open it and nothing happens. When I click on it again, it says that system restore is already running. What can I do? All my files are still intact. Could it be pilots? Virus? Hardware issues? I am naïve. PS. even though I am relatively well with computers and are rarely problems, when I encounter problems they are bad. When I searched the support for my last problem with my previous, it took me 2 weeks to understand it, and it was actually a melted video card. 0 technicians were able to understand it. Im seeing on my monitor graphics remind me of a melted video card, while the last time it happened in the 2 weeks. I don't think that it is a fondue video card this time because my screen happened to be perfect, to be horrible after an unexpected shutdown that I wasn't at my computer to see. I think that im problem with graphics experience come from the 600 x 400 resolution. but I CAN UPLOAD a photo if necessary. Thank you for the help

Thank you for your help. I was doing the troubleshooting-monitor-and-card video problem (method 2) and then completed my analysis of the registry. The end of the analysis of the registry I restarted my computer and the problem was solved. I didn't like a messed up registry that may affect the way my computer was watching etc. Thank you for your help

    Hello

You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer as a 2nd disk (best) or external
Drive USB enclosure and then backup to removable media such as CD, DVD or other USB drives.
Of course a real store of the computer or the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files.

Or you can use a boot Ubuntu CD to back up data.

can also cause the error. When you get to the section of the driver to use the Troubleshoot utility my generic
methods in the next message and then return to the if necessary troubleshooting tool.

    Cause

SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED bug control is a very common bug control. TO
interpret, you must identify which exception has been generated.

    Common exception codes are:

    • 0xc0000005: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION indicates a memory access violation has occurred.

For a complete list of exception codes, see the Ntstatus.h file located in theinc directory
the Microsoft Windows Driver Kit (WDK).

    Solve the problem

If you do not have to debug this problem, you must use certain basic troubleshooting techniques.

    • Make sure you have enough disk space.
    • If a driver is identified in the bug check message, disable the driver or check with the
    • Reference of the manufacturer for driver updates.
    • Try changing video cards.
    • Check with your hardware vendor for updates to the BIOS.
    • Disable the BIOS memory options such as implementing caching or shading.

If you plan to debug this problem, you may find it difficult to get a stack trace. Parameter 2
(the address of the exception) must identify the driver or function that caused the problem.

If the exception code 0 x 80000003 occurs, a hard-coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but the system
has been launched with the /nodebug. switch. This problem should occur infrequently. If it occurs repeatedly,
Make sure that a kernel debugger is connected and the system is booted with the Switch/DEBUG .

In case of exception code 0 x 80000002, the trap frame provides additional information.

If you do not know the specific cause of the exception, consider the following questions:

    • Hardware incompatibility. Make sure all new hardware that is installed is listed in the
    • List of Microsoft Windows Marketplace tested products.
    • Service driver or defective peripheral system. A service driver or defective peripheral system can be
    • responsible for this error. Hardware problems, such as the incompatibilities of the BIOS, memory, conflicts
    • and IRQ conflicts can also generate this error.

If a driver is listed by name in the bug check message, disable or remove that driver. Disable
or remove drivers or services that have been recently added. If the error occurs during startup
sequence and the system partition is formatted with the NTFS file system, you may be able to use safe
Mode to rename or to delete the faulty driver. If the driver is used as part of the system startup procedure
in Safe Mode, you must start the computer by using the Recovery Console to access the file.

If the problem is associated with Win32k.sys, the source of the error may be a third remote
control program. If this software is installed, you can remove the boot of the computer service
by using the Recovery Console, and then by removing the offending system service file.

Check the system log in Event Viewer for additional error messages that might help identify the
device or the driver that generated the bug check 0x7E.

You can also disable memory cache BIOS may try to resolve the error. You should also
Run the diagnostics of material, especially the scanner memory, which provides the manufacturer of the system.
For more information about these procedures, see the manual of your computer.

The error that generates this message may occur after the first reboot during Windows Setup, or
Once the installation is complete. A possible cause of the error is lack of disk space for installation and system
BIOS incompatibilities. For problems during the installation of Windows that are associated with the absence of disc
space, reduce the number of files on the disk drive hard target. Find and delete any temporary
the files that you do not have to have files hidden Internet, backup application and.chkfiles files that
contain fragments of file saved to disk scans. You can also use another hard drive with more drive
free space for the installation. You can solve the problems of BIOS by upgrading the version of the system BIOS.

I bought this laptop in early March and had to return to store due to a problem at startup when half of the screen would be black on the Windows login screen. They ordered me a new I got about 3 weeks ago and I used it for about a week before I had the same problem of a half black screen on startup.

Now he has been running really slow and there is a time, I've had it freeze on me and my screen turn into a bunch of colored lines.
I had to reboot in safe mode and run a virus scan just to make sure it wasn't my problem.

I do not download anything on this computer other than basic messengers and photo editing programs.
I have a HP MP7170N desktop computer which I use to download everything that seems to work faster than the laptop and I use photo, download torrents programs and store most of my pictures and music on this one and it has only 1 GB of memory compared to this the 4 GB.

    What is the problem?
Anyone have any ideas as to what I can do.
I can't really go back to the shop because they give only a grace period of 14 days for returns.

Before contacting a professional Toshiba authorized service provider would be, it would be interesting to know if you have seen improvements after recovery procedure and BIOS updated.
I think you n t get a recovery disk because you can create it using the verification of software preinstalled Toshiba manual how to create the recovery disk

If, after installing new check usability of portable and so similar issues still persists.
If nothing will change it s is strongly recommended to communicate with an ASP.

    Hi poly

Please put more details on the problem, because it s not easy to say what has happened without any detailed information. You hear the operation of the HARD disk or fans?
Switch you to other devices to display, before this problem occurs?
Unfortunately it FN + F5 key combination doesn't work if the operating system has started so it could be a malfunction of the equipment. I don t think you can solve this problem by yourself. In this case, the only way is to contact the service.

  • Satellite P10: clouds white and purple fading across the screen during startup

I had problems with my laptop PC-10 so I bought a new hard drive (Fujitsu 60 GB instead of 40 GB) standard and have it myself. I was working very well with it for a long time, until suddenly I have had the strangest problem that I've ever seen on a computer...

Sometimes, when you start the laptop, instead of the screen normal red "TOSHIBA" and the message to start Windows XP, the laptop displays simply little weird white and purple clouds fading across the screen, fading finally on a screen very dark, but not quite black.

I thought first it was a problem with the DVD player, like when he finally gave and started normally, the DVD drive has been disabled. However, I noticed in the BIOS, under "Advanced" the Infrared Port shows intermittently - it shows with the [Disabled] setting next to him, but will be then disappear from the list, then reappear again and then go again and so on.

Sometimes my computer will function normally, then completely shut (mouse and all) and will restart with the clouds!

I looked in the Windows Event Viewer for when the laptop has locked up and have seen anything to do with a problem with IRQS for the Infrared Port. I disabled the infrared port in Device Manager (I managed to activate in the BIOS by loading the standard BIOS settings) and rebooted, but it started upward with the clouds once again, so I have the feeling that the infrared port is the culprit - loose connection may be defective material because it is located close to the DVD player and HD player.

I was wondering if anyone has seen something like this before on any computer, and if they knew how to solve? It seems completely illogical that a defective IR port could change what is displayed on the screen on startup, unless of course there is something wrong with my HD boot sector?

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

    Tom

    Hello

I've never seen like this problem before and I don't think that this issue has something to do with the HARD drive or the IrDA port.
As much as I know the IrDA port is not available on Satellite P10 - xxx

For me, this looks like a faulty screen or graphics card.
Have you tried to connect the external display? If this isn't the case, then try to do and check if it also appears on the external display.

I recommend also to recover the laptop with Toshiba Recovery CD and then check the functionality.
But if the malfunction appears so I would recommend contacting the Toshiba ASP for control from laptop

Is this a problem with the graphics card of th and it can replace? I've seen some other posts re welded/non-soude types - someone knows 100% what is in this model?

    Hello

I would not rely on statements like welding/resolder/etc. Since Don t you know really what could be the problem.

I suggest you to send your machine to a local partner approved since your description sounds really serious.
Maybe this link helps you find the next servicepartner in your country:

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/generic_content.jsp?service=EU&ID=ASP_SUPPORT

It s something like an «ASP "carrier who will guide you to the next available ASP.»

    Welcome them
