Its lack on Satellite P200

Want to know why I have no sound on PC laptop Toshiba Satellite P200.
Also to identify the view/picture of a sound card in this unit before disassembly. All volume indicators show this unit of work but no sound at points of sale, HD Realtec allows or external unit speakers Logitech.
Laptop is just over a year and out of warranty.
Thank you all.

To be honest, your ad is quite confusing, and I don't know what the problem is here.
What you can do is:
Check the status of the sound card in Device Manager and make sure that the card is properly installed and activated
Check the sound properties and make sure that everything is OK
Check the mute box and do not forget, that it is not enabled
Check the volume selector

Do you have disassembled this notebook or Toshiba service?

    Hello

If you use WinXP SP2 on this laptop you need to install the drivers in a special order. Unless you do this, certain shortcomings of the driver may appear.
You also need download drivers updated Toshiba driver download page and look at the document update to SP2 driver!

  • Satellite P200 - minimizing on its own screens

    Hello

I just bought a laptop Satellite P200 - 1 K 8. I'm having a problem with the screen pages minimize while I'm surfing the net / opening files, etc at random times?
It's pretty frustrating - and I'm not sure if this is a Vista issue or the laptop itself?

Someone at - it experience of this or had the same problem?

Thank you very much in advance for your help with my question!

    Jay

Check the touch pad settings, go to control panel, Classic view - mouse, then player settings and click settings for the touchpad. Then go to the box 'type' and disable tapping.
"tapping" allows you to activate the touchpad to do different things when you tap the corners.

(at least it worked for me on a P200-1EE)

  • Satellite P200 - cannot install XP due to lack of HARD drive

    Hello...

I have the Toshiba Satellite P200, with Windows Vista home edition.
    I want to remove and install win XP but I have the problem;
I can t install windows xp. I have this message: Setup doesn't detect any hard disk...

A friend tell me what s due to the update of the Bios, but I can t solve the problem

    Please help me

    Thank you

    Hello

First of all you shouldn't t believe everything say this as some computer beginners.
It s NOT a BIOS issue.

Your HARD drive is not visible during the installation of Win XP because the SATA driver was not included!
The laptop supports the SATA controller and a SATA driver must be included in Win XP to recognize the HARD drive!

But I don t want to write the whole story again that this issue has been addressed 1000 times here in the forum. I recommend this forum a little bit and search for similar topics regarding the installation of Win XP.

A hint; Intel Storage Manager contains the SATA driver ;)

  • Satellite P200 - 123 No Post, but still the boots

    Hello

Have a strange, my old Satellite P200-123 worked extremely hot (70 inactive more than 100 of the load) 2 years so he disassembled and replaced the thermal grease, fans and cleaned. Standard maintenance went well, (apart from the microphone plug disintegrate at the start, but I use headphones so not really a problem).

First boot after the interview I noticed that the screen does not display anything until windows log in screen, no toshiba screen, no post messages, etc. At first, I thought it may have lack of an external port (VGA or HDMI) however I tried to connect to an external device and he still refuses to show anything until the windows log on screen.

I stripped and repaired hundreds of laptops (it's my job) but never encountered this in 15 years of maintenance and repairs PC and laptop. System running Windows 7 (not like it should make a difference) and the used thermal grease was the new Artic MX-3 and served on the GPU, the CPU and the Northbridge (and before someone says you must use the compound of unfounded pressure of toshiba ceramics, stuff I've used here are better for this the toshiba recommended stuff, believe me). The system works well (now idling at 39 and 65 at full load), I guess that's not much of a problem, unless I need to reinstall or restore my machine for some reason, all the world has an idea on how to fix this?

    Very interesting, Jaster! :)

Thanks for sharing this information with us!

  • Satellite P200-1EE PSPB6E: problem of battery and Webcam

    Hiya People,

New on the Toshiba Forums here and stuck on a problem I have with this laptop.
I have a Satellite P200-1EE model number: PSPB6E 0GM028EN. The election House of Uni a few days ago my refuses to laptop to turn on the laptop on and happening only when I put a Power cable in.

I took out the battery cleaned with a can of Air and put it again and it worked but the next time I did nothing happened.
Strange thing is that, once it is running, and I take the power wire, it works fine.

2nd problem is the software integrated Webcam won't work for me. Sometimes, and when I restarted the laptop it works fine again.
I tried to reinstall the driver but it gives warning that the newest is already installed on my laptop.
Am I right in thinking that its due to the new version?

It is maybe something wrong with the battery of laptops of s?
How old is your laptop? Guarantee is valid?

As far as I know, the guarantee covers the battery for one year. Then maybe you should ask and ASP in your country for a control? Maybe the battery doesn't work as it should.

I n t have a solution to deliver you but I assume that it s associated with the software/driver of webcam.
You should visit the European driver Toshiba page from time to time and need to check if an update is available.

  • Drivers Windows xp on Satellite P200 - 1fc

    Hi all

Don't want to look stupid. A couple of days ago, I installed xp on my laptop and I downloaded the drivers I needed, the noise, the wlan and so on. But what I really need to know how to install them? I know it sounds really thick but I open the files and double-click the installer and it says install, but after that's over nothing at all! I installed wlan and hotkeys, but able to get its installed.
    Please can someone help me?

    I have a Satellite P200 - 1fc

    Thank you

    Hello

Hmm. Your post is funny ;) but don't be angry with me about this comment ;)

The installation is really easy. If there is a setup.exe you need to start this file. Then, the installation should begin.
If the setup.exe is not present then you must install the drivers from the Device Manager. Here, you have to choose the device and point to the downloaded driver package.

Installing the audio driver is a little more complicated. First of all, you need to install the XP patches and fixes Microsoft KB888111 and KB83522. And then, you must install the audio driver.

    Ciao mate

  • Satellite P200-13Z - upgrade the hard drive - can I use SATA II hard drives?

I have a Satellite P200-13Z with simple standard Fujitsu 120 GB SATA hard drive. I want to change this to a RPM SATA II 250 GB Western Digital 7200 RPM drive. This interface SATA laptop does support SATA II? Thank you very much!

Not your portable computer does not support SATA II.

However, you can buy the SATA II hard drive and put it in your laptop. Only way to get it going is to restrict the new speed of SATA HDD, I accelerate. To do this is to introduce a jumper on the drive to restrict it to SATA I speeds up. Once it's done put in your laptop and viola, it works.

Good luck, but I would like to get a toshiba technician to install it if its under warranty. It's for your own good, so you don't turn your laptop into a boat anchor.

  • Satellite P200 - 1 K 9 and performance issue

I hope IM this ad in the right area...

    Hello

    I have a Satellite P200 - 1 K 9 with the following specifications:

    Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 @ 2.40 GHz CPU
    3 GB RAM
    32 bit
    Note Windows experience 4.8

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 map graphic and one
    HD sound card...

My problem is that since I bought my laptop about 7-8 months ago slowed down the performance. Of course, since then I had filled my hard drive (partition) with the media and understand that this is at the expense of the performance of the system. However, since this grateful I released a lot of disk space. I have 40 GB free on my C: and 90 GB free on my D:. Total, shared capacity is 250 GB (125/125).

Basically, while being largely ignorant of the technical questions, laptops and technology altogether, the way I noticed the inability of systems to "return" to its original factory running (which, I might add, I was very impressed by) is when it comes to games. Football Manager 2009, for example running very slowly. I had a peek in the Task Manager, because I play the game in a window, and the CPU usage works 100%, although I'm sure the culmination of the individual tasks and Applications is not equivalent to that (maybe there is a program hidden Hogging my CPU speed?). Call of Duty 4, which took place on medium-high graphics settings when the laptop was new, now struggles on the lower graph and the sound settings, without that there is a problem with internet connectivity. In addition, (for reference, I m not not the game breath) Battlefield 2, which is about 3-4 years of age very slowly also works. He ran too extremely fast, on the highest graphics settings when the laptop was brand new.

Basically, what I want to do, is to return the system to its original performance. It is always too slow when two hard drives were full of games and media. Now, despite the withdrawal of many of them, the system works like a sloth.

Means I ve done to solve performance problems are: disk defrag, disk clean up, error checking, virus scan (with Kaspersky), scanning of spyware (with PC tools Spyware Doctor), deleted the old files with CCleaner and erased files not deleted with a program called eraser... As well as the release of about 50% of the disk space.

Add to that, I ve noticed performance was much more when I first turn on the laptop and the sides of it n t had the chance to become hot. I understand what is normal, and he did before when the laptop was new and was operating at optimum performance, but perhaps I have an overheating problem? I'll let you know what is the temperature, but I put just t know.

I hesitate to return the system to its factory settings and if necessary I'll take to a computer store, if there is something they can do. But in the meantime I d like to listen to any advice on general issues that I face, and possible solutions to my problem.

    Thank you very much.

The problem with Windows is that it becomes slower and slower that you operate.

When the devices and programs are installed, they increase the size of the registry, activate the Services, add resident DLLS and drivers, slow down the file system by adding thousands of files. As well, the operating system can get damaged after some time due to the loss of power and software poorly written.
Even if you use CCleaner and other utilities and uninstall several programs, it is never as fast as a fresh installation of windows. Uninstalling programs rarely remove the program completely 100%.

The antivirus can have a huge effect on performance, that's why the system runs great when the image of the plant is installed (which has usually no anti-virus).

So basically if you want the system making a lot once again, you must back up your data and perform the recovery. I myself do it once a year to restore performance.

  • Satellite P200 - no integrated noise "subwoofer".

    Hello!
I have a Toshiba Satellite P200-1FM with a high "subwoofer". At least the manual says theres is one and its supposed to be at the bottom of the laptop. I can see it and it looks like the picture in the manual. I tried it prick with a toothpick (of course) just to make sure that theres a speaker it and not just plastic. There is some flex in it and it sure sounds like a speaker when I poke him. However, my problem is theres no noise coming from him.

I tried both Vista and XP, and several different drivers without success. Anyone got any ideas? Anyone got the same laptop as I do? Your "subwoofer" work? The other speakers work fine, btw.

    Help, please!

How do you know that your Satellite P200 subwoofer integrated?

  • Re: Satellite P200 - installation of XP and SATA driver

    Hi guys

    I'm new to the forum.

I know there are already 100 topics on installing XP on a Toshiba Satellite P200 and believe me I have lived all of them, but I'm still fighting trying to install XP.

I will describe the steps I've been through so if someone could tell me where I'm wrong or try something other way out then let me know:

I went to the following site to download Intel Matrix Storage Manager:
    http://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Filter_Results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2101&OS FullName = Windows * + XP + Professional & lang = eng & strOSs = 44 & submit = Go %21

    First of all, I downloaded
    32-bit floppy Configuration utility
    (F6flpy3287)

Now the first download did not contain an exe file, so I've been to unzip and copy the files on my floppy drive. I inserted my XP SP3 CD and rebooted the laptop, when XP installs the Setup files, I pressed F6 (that she mentions at the bottom of the screen) after installation of the files, that it says something like that couldn't detect the drivers and press S to select one of the pilots in total there are 4 riders, I chose all alone (so did 4 facilities in total) , but it keeps giving the same error.

The error itself says something like the hard drive is not detected and to be honest its make me lose the will to live because I spent hours trying to figure this out.

As there are two managers matrix downloads I tried the other as well:

32-bit floppy Configuration Utility for Intel Matrix Storage Manager version 5.5.0.1035
    (F6flpy32)

This one was an exe file, I have attached my USB floppy drive ran the exe file that has copied the files and I tried to choose once again each of the 4 drivers the entire installation, but it says the same thing no hard drive detected.

Someone help me please, I would really appreciate it.

    Thank you

To be honest, here are really quite subject to this subject and enough descriptions how to do this please, read it.

I think the simplest is that you download the storage on the Toshiba site manager.
Then, you can use nLite to integrate the driver on the CD.
After that, you must also start the CD and then the HARD drive is detected (you don't need to press F6 to load the driver.

And here's all the necessary links:

  • Graphics problems in World of Warcraft on Satellite P200-123

I bought a Satellite P200-123 to surf the net, play and for general use. I have read many reviews and chose the p200-123 because of his good grades. I play wow on a daily basis. World of Warcraft was an extension called burning crusade that came out a couple of years. When the expansion of BC the grx will all mess. Its as if there is a new effect of grx etc which does not agree with the toshiba range drivers. I get lots of polygons on the screen after being in the Burning Crusade expansion. I thought the grx was defective, so I exchanged it. Once again when I get the new laptop at home it happened again. It is a driver problem that it happens to the expansion of the BC. Ive tested it on other games and everything works fine. I want to know is we're going to have a bad selection of drviers or will they get updated.

    http://I219.Photobucket.com/albums/cc215/maltonbranch/WoWScrnShot_033108_213654.jpg

To solve this problem, I have to change the resolution, then back to the setting I use. problems with polygons etc seems to leave for 5 minutes then the pips apear. I thought he could heat or a damaged GPU. But getting a laptop brand new just to do it again shows me his non-defective material and a driver problem.

Ive posted this on world of warcraft forums and aparantly its a problem with the ATI driver toshiba shut down. Bottom line, I want to know if the drivers will be updated and not just old ATI modded those of toshiba. I feel ripped off the coast. In all my years of owning PCs and laptops, I never felt so disappointed by a company in terms of software support.

    Hello

I understand you completely, especially when you play with a few new engine that requires pilots who work quite at 100%.

Maybe you should check some 3rd third-party drivers.

This driver have been adjusted for mobile systems, so when you try these, your problem should go away and performance are expected to increase a little.

    Welcome and good luck

  • Question about battery on Satellite P200-1JV

Can someone answer this question please: what Satellite P200 battery and battery recharging happens at 100% load, and the light is blue are there continuing fees to the battery or does the pc disconnect the load?

I ask this question because my laptop is plugged in for long periods of time and I don't want to fry the battery because 99% of the time its used as a desktop pc.

    Hello!

Have you checked the manual for more information? I downloaded it on the Toshiba site because I have another model and I can find the following information on the LED power:
+ In normal operating mode, the power light is blue (depending on the model you have purchased). If the system is in Standby Mode, the LED flashes orange, while the light is off when the computer is turned off or in Hibernation mode. +

I put t know if this information is useful for you, but if the laptop is connected with the adapter AC/DC battery will not be used.

    Good bye

I am owner of a Satellite P200-1JV since last week and three days ago I had a strange problem.
My laptop * screen starts flashing * in different times.

The flash frequency increases by 3.4 times to 10 +.
In addition, the number of times to flash occurrence increases significantly.

The blinking persists even if I do * not * activate any program.
    All programs are by default.

    Thanks for in advance!

What do you mean by manufacturing problem?

It very difficult to imagine that how the display flashes or what might the case these flashing but it certainly looks like a hardware problem.

If its hardware issue you will need to contact a technician from Toshiba for a fix. I think it's clear

The P200 seems to be a new laptop and my knowledge, the guarantee must cover all
So, don t waste time and ask an ASP in your country for a control from laptop
