iTunes says phone has 5 GB free, phone says nearly full storage.

My phone is constantly telling me that I am almost out of storage space, usually with less than 100 MB left.  When I go to the storage management zone, the data used by the various programs comes close adding to use all my storage space.  iTunes confirms this when I plug my phone telling me I have 5 GB of space.  What is happening and how to fix this?  I can not even often take a picture because he says that I don't have any space left, but I should have half of the hard drive of the free phone at least.

The amount of iTunes is just an estimate. The amount of phone under settings > general > storage and use of iCloud is the amount to be exact. Add the content does not include the system or hide them.

This may help explain: different from 'Available' amounts reported by iPhone and iTunes

I did a full restore and got 2.9 GB of free space, but in an hour (without using phone at all) I was at 0 MB of free space. Phone is unusable!

Anyone who has had this and what I can do about it?

Since your not sure what the 'others' are I would recommend you to restore your iPhone. I know that you will lose all your data, but not restore from a backup of iCloud so start as a new phone. You can back up your choice and if necessary to write all your contacts on a sheet of paper and then add hide them. Depending on the severity, you want that storage

  • iPhone wants to update to 9.3, iTunes says phone is up-to-date 9.2.1

My iphone wants to update to 9.3 but is unable, guard return error "you are not connected to internet" message. I am connected of course. Tried through iTunes that says phone is up-to-date 9.2.1. Have updated most recent iTunes, restarted phone and restore network settings. I don't understand. I have an iphone 5s with 4.2 GB of free space. Any suggestions?

Try to restart the computer and connect your device once more.

Also, check your network connection and restart your router.

I don't know, but maybe your problem is somehow related with the last bug in iOS 9.3.

I'm trying to connect a new Iphone to itunes to phone, he told me an I need a newer version of itunes... I later?

What version of iTunes and Windows you have?  An iPhone IS requires at least iTunes 12.3, which in turn requires at least Windows 7.  Refer to turingtest2 for Windows guide excellent iTunes:

You can run the latest version of iTunes for your version of Windows, but you are not running the latest version of iTunes is available and it's iTunes 12.3. You must run Windows 7 at least. I'm not a Windows user, but I think 7 is newer than XP.

  • iTunes saying hello Service does not, but it is

iTunes says that the Bonjour service has been disabled, so it won't recognize any of my phones i6 or my iPad when it's connected, but the Bonjour service is running.  I checked each thread posted, uninstalled and reinstalled many times by following the procedures I found, deleting files/folders and even lost the backups of the device trying to remove all the files and folders of Hello and Apple. I checked my firewall and antivirus settings, ensuring that there is no blockage and I even added exceptions on both Hello. More radical step, I took was disable my home router firewall, PC firewall and disable my antivirus when the last attempt to re - install the iTunes software, nothing helps. I am running Win7 SP1 (64-bit) with the latest updates and software AVG Internet Security. I have no problem connecting to the iTunes store or by downloading the app updates. Whenever I connect a device, the mobile driver load successfully and my PC is grateful for connection. Checked after each installation that Hello both Apple Mobile Device services are actually run, but iTunes continues to say that he was disabled and my devices will not connect.

Does anyone have an idea? Thanks in advance

    Hi plennon54,

I understand that, despite your efforts on this point, iTunes is saying it can't connect to your devices due to Hello and services Apple Mobile Devices (supposedly) does not. In some cases, it may require that a good few more configuration in which concerns the isolation of security (such as antivirus software) of the image software. Still, an overview to the information described below.

If you still have problems after you test your connection, your security software may interfere with the connection of your computer with iTunes.

In some cases, it may be necessary to temporarily remove your security software to isolate a problem. Some Internet security applications don't completely uninstall, then you might need to download and run a utility to clean for your security software so that it can be completely removed.

Work with your security software provider to allow the complete list of ports and services that use Apple products or if you need assistance with their uninstalled software.

Make sure that there is not more than one type of security software installed at the same time. If you have more than one type of security software installed, you may experience other performance problems.

  • iTunes says different model?

I have a weird problem. I own an iPhone 4s, but iTunes says I have an iPhone 3.1, yesterday he said that I had iPhone 4 and I have no idea how to fix that... Quite some time, I remember it wasn't a problem because it shows me that I have an iPhone 4 s. well I decided to try and update my iPhone 4S recently due to the new trend in the world 'Pokémon Go', I'm not a guy from the app, I just wanted to test this agitation , but when I tried to download the application, he stated that he does not support 7.1.2 iOS. I looked if the iPhone 4S supports iOS 8 and most of the sources I've seen says that he can, but when I try to update, it says that this version of the iPhone does not support iOS 8. That's when I realized that iTunes shows me the wrong model of the iPhone

My main questions are, how do I solve this problem? How can I update my iPhone 4 iOS 8?... If that's even possible.

If iTunes says iOS 7.1.2 is the latest version which will accept your phone, then you have an iphone 4 and not a 4 s. I don't know why you're getting different reports a 4 s, 3, 4. You can search for your phone model number to confirm what you have.

  • Why iTunes says my iPhone 6 s must be updated to iOS 9.2.1

iTunes says my iPhone 6 s must be updated to iOS 9.2.1 despite the fact that it is already on iOS 9.2.1. Updating the phone software shows that it is up-to-date, yet iTunes seems to think that's not. What should do?

Try resetting your device. This will not erase your data stored on that device.

    • Press and hold the sleep/wake button
    • Press and hold the Home button
    • Press and hold both buttons until the display turns off and on again with the Apple logo on the subject.

Alternatively, you can go to settings - general - reset - Reset all settings

If that doesn't work, restore your device to factory settings. Please note that this will delete the data on your device.

Take a look this Apple Support article:use iTunes to restore the iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support.

  • Why can't I just save it on an external drive that has 279 GB free

I'm trying to backup to an external drive from WD. On the window of the Control Panel, it reports that there are 279,74 GB of free space. When I try to run a backup Windows it works for about 10 minutes and I get a message error - "that your backups are being saved on the disk doesn't have enough space frtee.

I use an external drive Western Digital and a Dell 64 bit XPS 8500.

I suggest avoid you the Windows backup program and you get a good commercial backup program. This forum meets for a windows problem reports. I know that I was very impressed when I tried it. Three I'm familiar with and like Norton Ghost (which I use for 8 years no 1 problem), Easeus Todo Backup free, you can download it from

http://www.TODO-backup.com/products/home/free-backup-software.htm and Memeo , which has 30 day free trial and you can buy it for $29.99 - you can download it from http://memeo.com . You can get Ghost for almost nothing (like me), if you look at the sales.

The March 2012 issue of PC World is very high on the program FREE of Easeus and I tested it recently in a variety of configurations; and must say that I am very impressed. As Ghost will support up to a network drive and it will create a bootable CD for when your PC does not start. See commentary to PC World to

External hard drives are the best for backup. You can get a 500 GB one for $70 and a 1.5 to one for about $90. You can also buy a flash drive of 32 GB for less than $20. It is the best insurance you can buy ever!
