JPEG sizes

I have problems with registration of Photoshop projects that contain RAW files + additional JPEG that is 17 mb or higher layers.  My settings are the same in all areas for backups: economy, JPEG, Standard (Baseline) 12 - Maximum.

I have a file I edited in Lightroom and even manipulated in Photoshop.  I added a layer with a curve.  Saved in the JPEG format and had a 20 MB file size, approx.  I had to make changes to the original RAW file.  I went back to Lightroom, done my changes, re-imported the new file in Photoshop, and performed the same functions as the last file and even added a layer of Vibrance.  I saved the file and gave a file size of 10 MB.  I need to have files saved in JPEG format with a minimum of 17 MB.  What I am doing wrong?

I checked with Adobe Help Desk and told me that Photoshop decides on the size of the file as seems it.  I need to find a simple solution for the skirt of this issue and save files in higher MB JPEG form.

Thanks for any help.

Robert, you might want to look a little more closely on Alamy.com site.

They ask not compressed more than 17 MB file sizes.

In fact if you move your mouse over this requirement on their Web site, a tip appears which says:

"When you open a JPEG in photo editing software (Photoshop, for example)." It is uncompressed.

So they may not ask a file size > 17 MB in the Finder of Mac or Windows Explorer, but rather its size uncompressed in Photoshop.

For example, the image below is only 6 MB in the Mac Finder, but uncompressed in Photoshop that's more than 190 MB.

At the bottom of your image in the PS box, there is a field which can display the different settings of your image by clicking the arrow to the right.

Click the arrow, and then select the size of the file.

I don't know the size of your file is sufficient for them.

However, I have to pay attention to the list of "we reject images for... .   requirements.

  • When I save an image to JPEG size changing, why?

When I have an image and save in JPEG format is replaced and if a try to resize, change the size again

JPEG is a compressed format. Size of the file on the disk depends on the content as well as the compression level.

This is independent of the dimensions in pixels.

  • My album art does not charge even after it has been added by get info > add work then press OK

SO I recently did the music on my computer, and I wanted to add to my phone. After you download the tracks to itunes, I tried to add album art, I did. To be honest, it does not work. Here's what I do: Get Info > add an illustration. At this point, I see my art, and when I click it, it changes to be enclosed by a blue square free of deceit. Of course, I click on it so that it appears highlighted, as such, but when I click OK, nothing happens. ITunes is seem to be in the process of loading, but then the three notes "do - do" there, and nothing has changed.

For reference, the work is a compressed JPEG size 1625 squared.

What is happening with my itunes? Is this a known bug?

What is the format of the tracks?  If they are. WAV files, you can't combine work with them.  Otherwise, the issue may be that the files are read-only, or that the Windows permissions prevent the updated files to integrate the image.

  • Higher resolution of the photos?

Years I'm locked in a montage sequence Adobe to create (*.) PSD album pages) (8.5x11x300pix ~ 47 MB), then save them in (*.) (JPG) (8.5x11x300pix ~2.5MB). But the email them, it's to make them easily readable on any monitor, I have them shrink down to an acceptable (*.) (JPG) (3.86x5x300pix ~ 600 KB) size. I have more than 4000 album pages, each recorded in 3 sizes above! (I think that it is not possible), but my question is, how can I get a (net) e of the higher resolutionunacceptable image that can be presented in the same way that I use at the moment, it's still easily readable on any monitor do?

I think you should probably have been on the forum of Photoshop, but I'll answer anyway.

First let's get the terms straight. San you create images, the PSD and Some JPEG size 8.5 X 11 X 300pix... I think you mean 8.5 X 11 at 300 PPI. This means that the images are 2550 X 3300 pixel. There is no difference in the resolution or sharper of the PSD vs the JPG provide you don't compress the JPEG format to the death. The only difference is the size of the file and the quality of the information in pixels of each individual pixel. The quality setting of 100% for a JPEG, it would be very difficult to distinguish between the pixels of an image JPEG and PSD A. In order to test this open from your PSD files and then place a JPEG of the same image on the top layer of the PSC and set the blending mode to difference. All that's not completely black pixel is a pixel where information in JPEG format is different from that in the PSD.

Now scared to talk to the images you want to e-mail. You say that they are registered to 3.86 X 5 X 300 pix. Once again, I think you mean 3.86 X 5 at 300 ppi. This means that the smaller JPEG images are 1158 X 1500 pixels. According to today's standards, these are terribly small images. There is also another point. The PPP settings for the images that you want to send any at all. The TPP for the images that you want to put on a web page is not serious at all. The PPI also makes no difference if the image is intended to be used in a video or flash or displayed on a computer screen. Only the images intended for a printer to print on paper or some other media care about the PPP settings. Everything must be sized by the dimensions in pixels.

To prove my point download these two images and open them in Photoshop and check the setting of the PPI. The place in something on a printer as a doc word or Illustrator set up for a print document and to check the size.

My iPhone push 2448 X 3264 pixel, and I send all the time. You can see almost every pixel on a standard HD screen. Sending your 1100 images of wide pixels to a HD monitor would fill only about half of the screen.

So, here's the long and short of it. Most cameras now days hoot over 2500 images big pixel. Even my Sony point and shoot them takes pictures that are 4000 X 6000 pixels. If you resize your original images and reduce the number of pixels you reduce the resolution of the image regardless of the DPI setting. You limit your ability to manipulate the images again later. I didn't do it. Save for printing on 8.5 X 11 at 300 PPI is probably good enough, but with some high quality todays printers you can increase by 400 or maybe even more. In regard to the fixing of the jpegs to the e-mail or by sending them to a computer screen or monitor you want the images at least a scale display is in pixels. Many email clients will automatically reduce an image as an attachment to 600 or 1000 pixels wide, but in a modern 4K or even 5K monitor these images would be very small. I would design my workflow with final destination in mind and you ensure that I don't reduce the size of the camera originals. At least that's my 2 ¢.

  • I'm done editing to develop; How to save pictures edited for the web?

I get the import options and the development of Lightroom, but I learned from a representative of LR when I asked for help that LR does not store any data.  So, if I import pictures from my camera (NEF files) and edit to develop; where can I save the modified pictures and how to adjust them for best quality on the web?  It seems that there are instructions on how to import and save photos from your camera, etc, but once you change the photo to help develop it, is the original and so changed?

Sorry for the question, but I have changed several pictures using the develop and doesn't like to lose all my work.  I am lost as what to do now to save my changes.  Ugh!

Thanks to anyone who can help!  I am a user of Windows MC if that helps.

Assembly to develop is completely non-destructive. All your develop settings are automatically saved in the database (catalog) LR

For web use select thumbnails concerned of your pictures in the library, and click Export. Choose jpeg, size, quality and resolution of 72 and set color space to sRGB. Add sharpening if you wish. Choose a folder and subfolder or export Office. Your jpeg copies will be ready to download from the folder chosen when the export is completed.

  • Download image: set filtering settings

    Hello!

I use the excellent and very simple Image Download tutorial

    It works well.

However, I filter the images must be downloaded with other settings than the extension.

For example, I intend to use this AS2 code:

    function uploadImage(event:Object):Void {}

    imageFile.browse ([{description: "Image Files", extension: "*.jpg;}]) ([{*.jpeg", size:" 500000 ", width:"320", height:"400"}]);

    }

    Am I wrong?

Furthermore, I would like to know how to inform the user about his mistake by choosing, for example, a false image of size?

Thank you very much in advance for your advice!

    Best regards

You cannot specify the file size using the filereference class.

  • How to save constantly changes I make in LR3?

I'm new to this software. I have an existing collection of more 40 000 images. I am an amateur photographer, make images

my own amusement and I have also reviewed the document objects that are brought to me for restoration. These two functions are very important to me.

I used Picasa to manage my photos for several years. Although limited, it is very elegant and easy to use. It also does not change the original file until a request is made for a permanent change, how an original backup is performed. Once registered, the edict of picasa can be accessed by any other Viewer, software or browser that I know.

I love all the possible manipulation with LR3. I'm afraid that there seems to be no way to save an edited file so that it can be displayed using other software (not adobe). I want to be able to download pictures on my site and be able to share with my clients, friends, family etc.  I don't want to be locked up in Flickr. I am very worried that I could spend a lot of time to learn LR3 then huger same amount of time editing my pictures with her, only to find at some point on the road I will be locked in and unable to see my work using another software/Viewer/browser. That is what happens if I convert to a Mac and decide to use Aperture 3 instead? What happens if someone else comes up with software I prefer and if you want to change?  I'll always be bound upward with LR to see my published work? What happens if Adobe decides to no longer support LR3 and replaces it with a product that I find unacceptable, unaffordale or incomprehensible?  (the three scenarios have happened to me in the past).  I'll have to rework ancient pictures right now? I am very confused about it and would much rather drop the software now, before we get too deep. I absolutely won't be committed to having to use software of person forever.

I see the line "Web Photo Gallery created by Adobe Lightroom." and it terrifies me. Can I used a Pentax camera and Adobe software, but the images were created by me, and I want to keep full control over my work.

RAW files are larger by nature.  JPEG images are 8-bit images, raw images are 12-bit and some are even 14-bit images.  This means that they contain much more data.  When they are converted into Photoshop, you have the choice to go 8-bit or 16-bit.  If you choose the second option the resulting TIFF or PSD file will be far more important than any JPEG or raw image.  The JPEG size depends on a number of things such as the content of the image compression rate (quality) that is selected, the image size if the image is cropped, etc...  But whatever the parameters, the JPEG image will be substantially smaller because it's a very compressed file format.  Once you have exported this image from Lightroom, it contains all the adjustments you have made, and it is an autonomous 'standard' JPEG image that does not depend on Lightroom for what either.  Fact that software from the manufacturer of your it reduced even further just indicates that he more compressed or resized image or both to get the size of the file.  You must look at your options and make sure that you configure them so that they produce images that meet your expectations.

You say that you are concerned about the integrity of the exported file in case the original is lost.  The exported image has no dependence on the original.  They are completely separate.  The exported image will always be the quality she has now.  It will be the same quality on any computer or any photo processing.  The reason why I have keep the original images is in the case where a different version of the file I want or need it for different purposes.  For example, I exported the images 800 x 1 200 pixels for display on the Internet or sending e-mail to family or friends.  Then, let's say I decide I want a draw 20 x 30 inches of one of these images.  Of course, I will need a larger file with different characteristics to produce this impression.  I can go back to the original and that I need to export.  And, again, this file is completely independent of the original.  Then why are you paranoid?

I guess they should look like the JPG pictures.

  • Painting expands the size of the JPEG

Why I try to avoid the paint as much as I can because even it loads and saves in JPEG (without changes), there is actually increase the size of the file!

In many cases, I took a screenshot using the tool and saved as a JPEG file.  Even another screenshot was taken using the keyboard print screen key and stuck to the paint, the saved JPEG file size is much larger than that recorded by using the tool.  Why is it so?

    Hello

Thanks for posting the request in the Microsoft community!
We will guide you through this issue.

If you try to save the painting as a JPEG using Snipping tool, and then try to open the file for editing or other changes, so if you try to save the file and then the size will be increased.

If you need further assistance, please answer and we will be happy to help you.
