You can download the full installer of 7U45 Java on Oracle site and save the file to a USB key or other support to move it to the other computer.

Then, you can install Java for this file on the other computer.

Make sure you have the 32-bit version of Java for 32 bit Firefox.

You can find the latest version of Java on Oracle's Web site.

See the Platform Java > Java SE 7U45 (download JRE)

If Firefox would find the plugin (Firefox/tools > Modules > Plugins) and then check if the required registry keys have been created.

  • Where does get the location of the JRE of FF?

I use Ubuntu Linux 12.04 and 20 of FireFox. The addons tab indicated that my java plugin had security problems and that he was currently blocked. Order of Mozilla was told to change the version of Java, I did. The former was 1.7.0.15 and the new 1.7.0.17 (aka 7u15 and 7u17 respectively). Being a programmer, I use the SDK and have my $JAVA_HOME the value of the JRE in the SDK. Then, I changed symlinks in usr and/usr/lib/firefox/plugins to point to the new version of libnpjp2.so in my updated JRE. Finally, I restarted FireFox... But the addons still show the old plugin!

So where is Firefox search plugin? Is there a config file that I don't know?

Thanks for the tip Jscher2000. I checked the full path and pointed out that the plugin is indeed from usr. Then of course, there was a problem with the plugin.

Based on the links update provided by the Mozilla site, I downloaded the Java JRE lates separately in its own directory. Then, I put the symbolic link in usr to point to this version of the plugin... < path_to_jrelibnpjp2.so

    That fixed it.

For the benefit of other Linux users: the Java SDK 1.7.0.17 for Linux contains the old version of libnpjp2.so (i.e. 1.7.0.15). God only knows why. Since this is a shared library, it should be OK to simply replace the file with one from the JRE download for version 1.7.0.17.

  • How to upgrade JRE to 7u13?

JRE 7u10 has created a bug with FF... the bug is supposed to be fixed in JRE 7u13

I have purged all Java versions below 7u11 and cleaned my machine all traces except in FF18.0.1.

I don't know how to solve this problem; is there a registry editing will fix this? I need to get Java working in FF... I deleted my JDK 32 and 64 as it says this is related to FX.. rebooted... does not work... do not know where to find 7u13 which has fix...

6U39 and 7U13 of Java have been released.

You can find the latest version of Java on Oracle's Web site.

See the Platform Java > Java SE 7U13 and 6U39 of Java (download the JRE)

  • How to get rid of a search not intentionally installed "tab" to update the new version of Java JRE?

Since Oracle surprisingly quickly announced an update of Java JRE (7.11 update), Jan 14, available todag I install naturally. Despite being very careful with all unwanted program providers are trying to impose on the innocent user, I always have a f * ck * thing-same to tab search ng in my line of tabs. I don't want or need, and it occupies valuable space. The evil rats who created this stinky sh * t were very careful hide all the simple ways of removing - it is not (as far as I can see) are everywhere in my lists of Add-ons or extensions. I tried to watch: config, but I am totally inexperianced with this and do not dare to change: in fact, I can't find anything usable.

Anyone who has a suggestion how to get rid of that junk qualified? My FF is the Swedish version, that's why I stuck with raw data in the troubleshooting information. If there is a possibility here to add a screenshot of the thing, I would have.

The tab looks like the image below? If so, did you not as a Java Update. Have you downloaded the update of Java on the Java site or elsewhere? It was expected that some less honest people would provide false updates to Java. If it looks like the image below, follow these steps:

    1. With all browsers closed, in Control Panel > programs and features (or add / remove programs), if you see "Default tab" delete (you have no default tab 1.4.3 in the list of add-ons/prefs you have submitted with your question)
    2. Launch Firefox and check that 'Default tab' is not in the Add-ons > Extensions; If it is click on 'Remove' and then restart Firefox.
    3. You may need to set your homepage in Firefox, if a search page leading to 'Search results' or "My search results" is displayed at the start of Firefox - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/How%20to%20set%20the%20home%20page
    4. You may need to remove the 'search results' or "My search results" in your list of installed search engines in the top search bar on the right (click on the image to the left of the search bar, then choose "Manage search engines") - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/search-bar-easily-choose-your-search-engine#w_removing-a-search-engine
    5. You may need to reset your default search engine used for looking for location/URL bar by resetting the preference keyword. URL - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/search-web-address-bar#w_changing-the-internet-keyword-service
    6. You may need to reset a preference if 'Search results' or "My search results" appears as a search engine every time you open a new tab (follow steps 1 to 4 in the image below to determine which opens when you click to open a new tab; see Subject: config use above)- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/new-tab-page-show-hide-and-customize-top-sites#w_how-do-i-turn-the-new-tab-page-off

  • Have installed jre 7. Why can't I install firematcher?

    Dear Sirs,

have firefox 3.4, to install Firematcher (addon RPF control of plagiarism). At least 6u12 Jre is needed, although I installed Jre 7, I'm more an error "you need to install Jre 6u12min.

    Why is this bad?

Thanks in advance for the answer,

    Yours sincerely,

My advice is to contact the developer of this extension for support. The site says this is a beta version, and the Web site was last updated 01/03/2010; so I suspect it's a dead project that will probably not expand all.

  • How to install plug-in required jre-1_5_0_11-windows - i586.xpi

I try to use Mozilla Firefox 3.6.15 with the Web Version of QPASA 4.0.0.80a, a MQSeries monitoring tool. When I point to the URL QPASA, I am asked to install a plugin. However, when I try to install it, Firefox search http://javadl-esd.sun.com/update/1.5.0/jre-1_5_0_11-windows-i586.xpi, but says that it cannot install it because the installation script is not found (-204).

When I googled jre-1_5_0_11-windows - i586.xpi, I find that it is actually located at http://java.sun.com/update/1.5.0/jre-1_5_0_11-windows-i586.xpi. However, even when I paste this location in the Firefox url window, Firefox ALWAYS insists on his research in http://javadl-esd.sun.com/update/1.5.0/jre-1_5_0_11-windows-i586.xpi and fails.

How can I get Firefox to search for this file in the correct location?

This xpi package looks like an installer of Java 1.5.0 - 11, which is since 2006-5 years. You don't want to install Java 1.5.0 - 11 because it won't work with versions of Firefox 3.6 +, who need 1.6.0 - 12 Java or higher with the Second generation Plugin.

The file that I had both of these URLS is the same (right click on the link and use Save Link As... so Firefox seeks not to install and fail - then open it with 7-Zip to review internal files). This XPI package is too old to recent versions of Firefox, it's an install.js file that has been used by Firefox 1.5 and earlier versions. Firefox 2.0 and newer use an install.rdf file.

Why the JRE is needed? I uninstalled temporarily and FF366 still works.

JRE is commonly referred to as Java Runtime Environment, it is not required for Firefox run, but it will require a lot of web sites.

  • JDBC driver supports to TLSv1.2 with jre 1.7

    Hi Microsoft team

We are facing a problem with the 4.2 jdbc driver connect to MS SQL db where only TLSv1.2 is enabled and have jre 1.7.

We use the 4.0.2206 with MS SQL 2014 jdbc driver (both application support to TLSv1.2), this works very well with jre 1.8 but does not work with jre 1.7. As you may know jre 1.7 does not default TLSv.1.2 side client that could be the cause of the problem, to solve this problem, we must explicitly enable TLSv1.2 when connecting to the server.

So please confirm if the TLSv1.2 claimed Ko 3135244 jdbc driver support is also working with jre 1.7 or not? If this is the case, then are there special params/parameters must do while connecting it to db via driver. Or if not, then is there any plan to get supported with jre 1.7 as well. Please confirm as soon as possible.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Should I have JRE on my Windows XP system?

I have a Pentium III 800 MHz Dell with 512 MB RAM and running Windows XP. Recently I got a technician to do a new installation. The system works well, however I noticed that I don't have a JRE on my system.  That I should?  It will slow down the system? Are their security problems?

I use Microsoft Security Essentials and Spyware Blaster.

I suggest you do not install JRE until you come across something he needs.

  • Should what JRE I install?

I downloaded a JAVA application free small provided with instructions that I should go on the Sun site and download the JRE. Problem is when I arrived I found two options and don't know which to install. One is described as 'offline' version and the other is described as the "kernel" version There are others in the Sun, but these two seemed the most likely. Any tips?

The offline version is the complete package of java with all libraries inside while there is no need to download anything else after installation, and as a result, it has a larger size.

But the divisions of kernel version JRE libraries in small packages online which has a smaller size allows all first time Java users run applets and Java Web Start applications more quickly without waiting for the entire Java platform to download. and these additional libraries that may be required will be downloaded automatically via the background Download Manager later.

No matter which you choose, after you have completed the download and installation of all the beams, only two of them must be identical.

  • Result of vulnerability analysis shows Sun Java JDK / JRE / SDK Multiple Vulnerabilities

Analysis of vulnerabilities by Kaspersky Anti Virus showed Sun Java JDK / JRE / SDK Multiple vulnerabilities in my laptop Vista Home Basic 32-bit computer. Looking for solutions for

In Kaspersky, if you click on the little details, it will bring up a full description of the possibility. It may look technically daunting, but generally if you scroll down there is a statement of how to fix the vulnerability. In most cases, it simply means updated the web browser plugin or program. In your case, it may simply mean Java update by visiting www.java.com and get the free update.

Note that a vulnerability detected is not to say that your PC is infected with malware. It simply means that a security breach has been detected that could potentially be exploited by a person in certain circumstances.
