Spooler SubSystem App error in windows xp
I am running windows xp and have had a HP photosmart printer installed for over a year. From now on I get the error: Spooler SubSystem App has encountered an error. I can print the screen and print from IE8, but whenever I try to print from Adobe Pagemaker I get this error.
Adobe has a forum for all their products, including PageMaker:
http://forums.Adobe.com/community/pagemaker_general
I've never seen your problem, but if you search the forum Adobe PageMaker for:
Spooler Subsystem App
You will see that you are not alone and find some discussions that involve more than one printer HP and PageMaker and maybe some of these ideas will be a source of inspiration or help.
If you find nothing inspiring, I post there and see what they have to say.

I am getting error app subsystem spooler at each logon, try to install the printer, Microsoft Fix it application etc...
No matter what I try, I get the error. I deleted the files in the registry, printers, drivers, re-boots etc. I tried pretty much every suggestion on the net or website microsofts with negative results. I am at a total loss. I had the printer installed and works very well, and I don't know what changed to stop work. Before I re - install OS and the painful process of restoring files, I would like to correct it properly. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Thanks for the help SpiritX,
I just thought of it. I had loaded the software for the printer on another computer on my network and causing problems on all the computers involved. Chans ideas worked, but it comes to be done on all computers on the network.
Once again, thank you.

Spooler subsystem app has encountered a problem.
HP Laserjet 1020 printer does not work. Have used this printer for years. Last print job has stopped the printing process and give the spooler subsystem app has encountered a problem error message.
Used Mr. Fixit. Have the print spooler service manually restarted and the RPC service. When I try to print, Spooler Subsystem App Error message appears and printer spooler stops,
OS is XP Home Edition Service Pack 3.
Cannot remove hardware HP Laserjet 1020 and reload HP Laserjet 1020 download did not fix problem.
Often, but not always, the symptoms you describe are caused by a corrupt print job stuck in the queue or a damaged printer driver. However before you clean things up, on general principles, that you can download, install, update and run full scans with each of these two free programs:
AntiMailware MalwareBytes
SUPERAntiSpywareDo not operate the two scans simultaneously. Each will take a long time, so start it and then go do something else for a while.
Cleaning of printers
NOTE: If after completing step has the print spooler is not always running after you launched the command "net start spooler", you will not be able to follow all the steps in "First Article". Use of the special procedure for printers Lexmark described below and follow in its first Article. If still no joy, use the alternative method that is linked below.
A. Clean on print jobs pending
- Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)
- Type the following in the black command prompt window, and then press ENTER after each line
net stop spooler
del/q '% windir%\system32\spool\PRINTERS\*.* '.
net start spooler
outputB. clean the old printer drivers and install the latest drivers by using the directions in One Article.
A special procedure for computers that have or had a Lexmark or Dell-badged Lexmark printer.
Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)
Type the following in the black command prompt window and press enter
dependent on the spooler of sc config = RPCSS
outputNote that there is no space before the =
If you want to use a Lexmark or Dell-badged Lexmark printer after having done the above, you will need to reinstall it.
Alternative to the method of his first Article: http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm
Use of SuperAntiSpyWare found two serious problems. Could cross printer of pending work. Printer works fine. Thanks for your reply and advice.

Error in the Spooler subsystem App 0x000006ba
Found this same problem on answers back in 2010.
My OS is Windows Vista Ultimate 64.
Do not have this problem in the 2 years of the life of this PC.
Try printing and Spooler subsystem App error 0x000006ba. Error of Job Status window Interface also.
Worked on the resolution of this problem for more than 7 days.
The Lexmark printer is connected to the wireless router.
PC n ° 1 with this problem is connected to a Lexmark printer by USB and to the router by cable.
PC #2 is connected to the router via cable and can print on Lexmark without any problem.
PC #3 and #4 PC is wireless to the router and can print on Lexmark without any problem.
I have uninstalled and installed the software Lexmark times more than I can count. After the uninstallation ran I used search and remove related files from Lexmark.
All PC #1 and Lexmark drivers are up-to-date. Latest firmware in the Lexmark. I restored the factory default Lexmark printer.
All Windows updates have been checked twice a day and all the new updates installed.
I ran difficulty he printer Microsoft and test files. Test the printer shows no problems spooler. File test found problems once, then no more after that.
The Lexmark printer icon sometimes disappears from the printer configuration Page.
After the attempt to print and get the spooler error, the printer indicates a job pending. I can not cancel this job and it connects the printer so that other computers can not print with current work on PC #1. Sometimes I stop PC #1 pending work disappeared. Other times, he is not missing.
I searched the web looking for a solution and all Microsoft. Nothing works.
Heeelllllllpppppp!

Error message Spooler SubSystem App
Hi - my computer has received an automatic update from Microsoft some time this morning and now I get the following message appears and cannot print: "Spooler SubSystem App has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. "I'm lost as how to solve this problem. Can you help me?
See how it works:
We are going to stop the Print Spooler Service and delete any backup up/stuck/in waiting it for print jobs and restart the Print Spooler Service.
To clear the print queue, stop the print spooler service and delete all the pending print files.
You cannot delete all print jobs in the queue so that the Print Spooler Service is running.
To stop the Print Spooler Service, click Start, run and enter in the box:
services.msc
Click OK to open the Services Applet.
Locate the Print Spooler Service, right click and choose 'Properties' and then click on the "Stop" button to stop the Print Spooler Service is running.
The option "Startup Type" of Service properties print spooler is usually set to "Automatic" (which is now a good time to check it out).
If the "Startup type" is not set to "Automatic", set the "Startup type" to "Automatic" If that is your desire (which now is the time to check it out).Do not try to start or restart the Print Spooler Service again...
Then, delete all updates pending upward and forward to printing from XP. If they do not print before, you will need to send the to the printer again.
Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the following folder (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):
C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS
Delete all the print jobs in queue (select and delete all the files) in the folder if the folder is without waiting for print jobs. The folder must be empty when you are finished.
Reboot your system and check the Print Spooler Service again to make sure the Print Spooler Service restarts automatically restart (given that the startup type is set to automatic).
After the reboot, check again the spooler service for printing and the 'Status' column for the print spooler must be read "started."Submit new failure of print jobs.
