Keeps disconnecting remote desktop

I use remote desktop to 'exploit' my laptop from my desk, when I'm at home.  When I had Windows XP, it worked flawlessly.  Now that I am on Windows 7 Professional (laptop and desktop) is true.

When I run the desktop connection remote desktop it conscientiously connects to the laptop.  I will then use the DRC to work on my laptop.  I use the DRC in full screen.  I can (and often do) go to work on my laptop via RDC on my desk (check personal emails, etc.), and then return to the DRC (and laptop).

Periodically, the DRC becomes inadmissible.  I can move the cursor, but I can't select or click on anything whatsoever.  If I move out of DRC and then again, I get a black screen followed a message box that says that the DRC has lost the connection and attempt to reconnect (1 of 20 tests).  Still, he reconnects on the first try.

Some days it will happen one or two times, but today it happened about 5 times in 2.5 hours.  The disconnection may happen when I use Outlook, Excel, Word, Internet Explorer - in other words, I don't see a pattern when that happens, he is simply.

I searched the forums for that, and while others seem to have this problem, no one has a solution that worked for me.  Some responses suggest firewall problems, but because most of the time I can connect and use it, I'm not sure that the firewall is the problem.  In any case, the two computers using the standard Windows Firewall and are on the same network behind the same router.  Both allow the DRC in the firewall.

Under XP I never had this kind of 'random' disconnects.  In Windows 7, I get throughout the day (with enjambements more some days than others).

Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

The wireless signal goes directly to another machine, or obtain other machines via a wireless router?

Have you seen this?

" When I reduce the desktop connection dialog box remote, my screen becomes white. .

Using a password protected screen saver can cause this. Not to reduce Remote Desktop Connection dialog box if you have a screen saver password protected, or not to use a screen saver password protected. »

  • Cannot disconnect remote desktop background user

Running 3.8 remote desktop. My clients usually run 3.8.5, and all have an Admin account I can connect without disturbing the user.

Host computer running OS X 10.11.4, clients are on a variety of versions of the OS.

Recently, I started getting the following message when you try to log on to this account Admin:

The account that you selected is not available.

Check your network connection and try again to the user account. If you are connected to the network, ask your administrator to help system.

If you click on the OK button, which is the only button available, you are listed on the desktop of the admin account. This leaves you stuck in the Admin account. I don't like it in abeyance.

Has anyone seen this error before?

It seems to be a new problem with the 3.8.5 update. Returning to 3.8.4 on the target mac resets the connection.

  • Use FTP fails, disconnect remote desktop, XP Pro

Windows XP Professional SP3, Application in VB6 using WinInet FTP, remote access from Windows 7 to XP pro.

I had problems with one of my VB tasks.  It has worked fine for years and now is a failure because it downloads only the partial files FTP.

It seems to have started failing after May 22, 2012.

A symptom that I can reproduce, is that when the FTP task attempts to run he hit me offline my Office remotely.  Sometimes the FTP download works, sometimes files are truncated.

  • Windows 8 Remote Desktop keeps asking for password wifi

recently I reset my wifi network id and password.  After this "implementation of windows remote desktop 8" keeps poping up asking wifi password. It happens like every five seconds when I'm connected to the internet. After you enter the password and click ok, it happens again! I can't really do anything like pages Web surfing or watching youtube videos.  The only way to stop it is to disconnect from the internet.

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

    Hi Jing,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I imagine the inconvenience you encounter with guests Remote Office for password. I will certainly help you in this matter.

Sometimes, this problem occurs if you don't have a password set for your local administrative user account. To set a password, you can press the key combination CTRL + ALT + DELETE on the screen, click change password, type and confirm the password.

Login again and try to enter the WiFi password. Check if the number is reproduced.

Alternatively, if you do use Remote Desktop, you can try to disable the remote desktop in system properties and check if it helps.

    1. Press Windows key + R.
    2. In the Run dialog box, type SystemPropertiesRemote.exe , and then press ENTER.
    3. Unlike what allows the connection, select don't allow connections to this computer remotely.
    4. Click OK.

NOTE: You can always activate the setting by clicking on the option allow in step 3.

See the screenshot below for assistance.

Hope this information is useful. Let us know if you need more help, we will be happy to help you.

  • Remote Desktop - frequent disconnects

I like the app Remote Desktop Metro (I know... This isn't subway... but I don't know what to call it).

It is very nice to have full screen and be able to quickly switch between sessions... or aligned on the side and see all my sessions of small windows.  Very shiny.  I use it frequently to keep up to 10 persistent connections open.

However, if I bring another Metro (?) app to the front, often when I return to Remote Desktop, it re - initializes and I lost all of my connections, forcing me to reconnect.  It's pretty disturbing for my workflow to have to go at random through all my server sessions, and then reconnecting them.

Any thoughts on what could be causing disconnects and how to prevent them?

While searching for options, I found the "Remote Desktop Connection Manager" which is available for download here:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=21101

An overview of the tool is available here:

    http://blogs.technet.com/b/Exchange/archive/2010/06/11/3410093.aspx

So far, it seems to do a great job to manage multiple sessions of server.  I like that you can organize them in a tree hierarchy and connect/disconnect of entire groups of servers at a time.  The thumbnail views are available for each connected desktop computer.  Best of all, you can specify your credentials only once by placing at the top of the tree, and all what below it will inherit your credentials.

It is a better option than the remote desktop connection tool or the Remote Desktop Windows app.

  • Remote Web Workplace - VBScript: Remote Desktop disconnected

Using Small Business Server 2003 (SBS 2003 SP1 Premium).  The Remote Web Workplace Remote Desktop connection has worked for years.  We apply Microsoft Updates to the server last week and since that time, we get a message telling VBScript: Remote Desktop Disconnected - the client could not connect to the remote computer.

We have verified that no other changes were made in the environment since the last time that this feature was working.  We looked on the web and on the Microsoft site, and none of the usual causes of this question seems to apply.  Other features SBS seems to operate normally.

We are looking for additional troubleshooting steps, we can take.

    Thank you.

  • Remote Desktop issues connecting from home to work the computer in Windows XP. Remote Desktop stops responding and eventually disconnects.

Just around the beginning of July (2011) I started to have remote Office questions when connecting from home to work. If I minimize the connection for a while and come back later, it will be often does not. I'll have to hit the close X button several times before, he ends by abruptly disconnects. By the sudden I want to say that I don't get no dialogue usual warning that the session will be disconnected.

Also, sometimes when I connect I get a white screen instead of a connection window.

Anyone know if there was a Windows Update, or anything that can cause problems with RDP.

I used to be able to connect perfectly without any problems.

  • Remote Desktop left the unlocked console session after I disconnect, - BAD!

Often, I connect to my Home PC, Windows XP Pro SP3 running to work.  When I leave the House, the session is locked.

I recently discovered that when I disconnect from a remote desktop session, the computer is left * unlocked * even if I disconnect the session by locking the PC.

I'm fairly certain that it wasn't how things behave initially.  This change with SP3?

Currently, I connect to work with a Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) machine, but there is this problem with my old laptop which ran from XP Pro SP3.

How can I stay locked to disconnect the console session?

END THE SESSION IS NOT AN OPTION.  I have user programs that run in the session that must continue to run. I have need of the session is running, but locked.

    Hello

In my case it was the full client of Teamviewer which is a problem, including a version earlier than 5.1.9385, when I upgraded to this one, the problem disappeared!

Now there's another question that should be checked, if you Live Mesh Beta (which runs on windows XP and not a new one which has no Vista/7), then there are chances that you have activated the Remote Desktop feature, you can find two devices under the 'View' node in the Device Manager named 'Live Mesh curtain Driver' and 'Live Mesh Mirror Driver. You can turn them off, restart and check if the problem persists.

A last suggestion if the above could not solve the problem is to update the drivers of network card in your machine.

    I hope this helps.

    I used Windows 7.

I first run the Windows Firewall with advanced security. Then I run Remote Desktop connection. Please try again from the remote computer"
