Lack of enforcement of recovery Windows 8

While following the http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-usb-recovery-drive process to create a recovery disk, I found that the search application does not have the recovery application.  Suggestions?

There seems to be some useful links in http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-performance/how-to-create-windows-8-recovery-disc/89f69225-ec5d-4346-bc11-5a15079dfcef.   One of the links indicates that the application to create a recovery disc is recdisc.

I think I found the recovery of related programs by changing your search to look in the settings, instead of applications and you are looking for a recovery.

  • error recovery Windows returns constantly to the start without reason...

    Hi I recently got windows 7 Professional 64-bit my Thursday school last burn on a dvd. Everything seemed fine after installation, and such as Saturday when he starts in front of the screen of bio and then pop up with error recovery windows telling me that windows wasn't one to repair or start normally anyway would it continue to go to this windows error recovery screen bit whatever I chose. These events eventually led me to believe that my hard drive has failed in which I had a brand new only on Sunday and installed fine all appeared while Monday morning he started to blow upward with the same error message I could try the repairs say it was very good, try and boot and it would restart again. Fortunately I was able to install my Vista Edition home premium 64-bit, which seemed to be ok for most of the day until yesterday when it grew up the windows on error with the options to use the last configuration or start normally (due to the recent hardware or software changes, but I have not install anything new in terms of software or hardware) that works , but im not sure for how long. Im very tech savvy for my age and know what im doing with computers, but I can't seem to understand what is happening since it is a new player none of my hardware is a failure and I don't know.
    Appreciate any help...
    Colin

    Repair system solves most of the start-up problems.  Some computers have startup repair pre-installed otherwise you will need a CD/DVD of Windows Vista.   If your system still does not boot in Windows, follow these steps to repair the boot sector.

  • RMAN will remove backups within the recovery window

    Salvation;

    I didn't have idea on recovery_window

    recovery_window = > number of days in which the backups must be kept for purposes of recovery

    Backups within the recovery window can be removed or

    RMAN will remove backups within the recovery window?

    If you issue a DELETE, rman cannot stop or prevent you. It will allow you to delete the backups, even the last backup taken 1 minute ago, even when there is no other backup.

    The retention window only to rman control * auto * deletion of backups - backups obsolete because they are beyond the retention window.

  • Recovery window retention policy removes the archive logs before backup?

    Hi all

    Oracle 11G on Windows 2008 R2

    This afternoon, I've changed my retention policy RMAN "RETENTION POLICY 3 REDUNDANCY"on RECOVERY WINDOW OF 3 DAYS RETENTION POLICY

    However, I checked tonight and after that my daily backup, all the archive before backup logs had been removed! So that means I don't think I can restore to any point in time, before my daily backup. All newspapers .arc were there after the backup. Then I tried another test and began the daily backup again. During the backup process, archive logs were deleted again! Now, I don't have any archives of newspapers...

    Is this good behavior OF RETENTION POLICY RECOVERY WINDOW? I thought that she would keep all the files needed for to restore me to any point in time for the previous 3 days. When I used a REDUNDANCY, with my daily backups, he kept 3 days of backups + archiving logs so that I could restore point-in-time at any point. How can I use WINDOW RECOVERY so that I can actually restore to any point in time for the 3 days?

    I wanted to change WINDOW of recovery, since I read that using the REDUNDANCY, it keeps only X copy a backup (so if I ran the backup 3 times a day, I would have only these 3).

    Thanks in advance.

    After a database RESTORE, Oracle tries to RECOVER a DATABASE.  He tries to 'find' the archivelogs for this phase in the location expected archivelog.  If they are NOT present in the location expected archivelog, it attempts to restore backups before applying them.

    Since your BACKUP... DELETE ENTRY deletes the archivelogs after that that they are saved, Oracle will have to use backups to recover the archivelogs.

  • RMAN-20207: until the RECOVERY WINDOW, which was before the RESETLOGS

    Dear friends,

    I'm picking up some time and I have used this SQL in my RMAN

    reset the database incarnation 1;

    run
    {
    until ' to_date (3 Aug 10 17:50 ',' MON-DD-YYYY HH24:MI:SS') ";
    restore the database;
    recover the database;
    }

    and I get this error: RMAN-20207: until the RECOVERY WINDOW, which was before the RESETLOGS

    I thought changing the incarnation will solve the problem. I have only 2 incarnations, which is used after that the resetlogs which is number 2. So I now use 1 incarnation.

    How should I go about this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Ok...

    Now, what you have to do: If you want to point at the time of recovery, you must have a valid backup plus archivelogs in order to recover up to the desired time.

    From now on, full backup is available for the time that you asked, however archivelogs not :(

    You must make available, controlfile catalogue and begin to restore, recover up to the hour. Then open with resetlogs option.

  • Error recovery Windows (software/hardware change) - No restore points and no disc how to fix?

    Still not too sure what happened or how it happened by the way, but when I turned on my PC today, I had the menu to choose start normally or repair starter system, when I try to start normally, the computer just as it happened to the Windows 7 loading screen. After that there a few times, I tried a system repair... He once checked for any problems and said then that he was trying to fix, but after waiting a few minutes, an error box appeared, saying "Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automatically" following with send/don't send. After closing the box, I have the option to go to advanced options, which includes the system restore and System Image recovery, but since I have no restore points or Image to recover with, there is not much that I seem to be able to do. I have no idea what to do with it, without the drive I can not install a new version and wouldn't really, because there is a lot of work on there that i prefer to keep, any alternative?

    The Informatics iron law says that important or irreplaceable files must be stored at least two independent media. A lot of people ignore this rule. Some change their backup philosophy until they suffer a great success, others wait until after a disaster. A 2.5 drive "in a box external USB is an inexpensive but very effective backup media. In your case you can probably recover your data by starting on a command Console and copy your files on such a disk, using commands in the console.

    On your inability to start Windows: you have exhausted almost all options, but there is a small chance that you could restore the windows to restore a previous version of your registry files. The process is complex and requires some careful typing. Ask a computer-savvy friend to help you if you lack experience in this field. Note that it may reset your password to a previous value.
    1. keep tapping F8 during the first phase of startup.
    2. select Repair from the menu.
    3 log in as administrator if you are prompted.
    4. Select repair when prompted.
    5. Select the command line.
    6. identify the correct drive letter for your Windows installation. It could be one drive other than c, but it will not X:. You do this by typing commands
    DIR C:\Win*
    Dir D:\Win*
    dir E:\Win*
    until you find the Windows folder.
    I'll call this "Q:" drive
    7 type these commands:
    CD /d Q:\windows\System32\config
    xcopy *. * Q:\RegBack\
    CD RegBack
    dir
    8. review the dates of the software, system, and SAM files. The files created before or after that is your problem?
    9. If they were made before the problem appeared, you can then type these commands:
    copy software / y...
    /y copy system...
    /y copy Sam...
    (the two points are part of each order)
    10. restart normally. If things don't work then you can go back by copying files from the original register of Q:\Regback to Q:\Windows\System32\config.

  • How to reinstall the recovery Windows 7 image?

    Hello

    I bought a new Toshiba L650 computer laptop,
    The day I bought the laptop, I installed UBUNTU on it and by mistake I used the entire disk for UBUNTU. And I lost the entire windows partition and I didn't even create a backup disk.

    Is there a way I can recover my windows. I have the windows 7 CD key written on the bottom on the laptop. Can I install using a few windows 7 CD and use my CD key and still use it?

    Hello

    I hope my answers help you, then let's go:
    > Is there a way I can recover my windows.
    N ° after installing Linux or any other OS version clean there is no way to install the original Toshiba recovery image.
    > I have the windows 7 CD key written on the bottom on the laptop. Can I install using a few windows 7 CD and use my CD key and still use it?
    Unfortunately, this is not possible. This key belongs to the recovery image you have with your laptop and it cannot be used with another version of Win7.

    If you have original Toshiba recovery image and use the laptop with the settings you need to order the new recovery disc.
    You can do it on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

  • Satellite L500D - 16L - no disk recovery Windows 7 64 bit included

    Hi all

    I'm curious... I bought this laptop a while a go and was browsing the Web from Toshiba site and it says that this laptop should have Windows 64 bit on it. I thought just is it possible to install my own copy of Windows? Usually I'm stuck sort of encrypted messages as this copy of Windows may not be installed on this laptop or something or where can I get an official copy of windows which must go with this laptop?

    Hi whipser1,

    I checked the specs on the site Web of Toshiba Satellite L500D - 16L and 64-bit Windows 7 is pre-installed, but you can also get a recovery with Windows 7 32 bit disc.

    So what version of Windows 7 is currently installed?

    If Windows 7 64 bit is installed you can create the recovery disc yourself for the 64-bit version. Therefore, to start the preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator and follow the instructions on the screen. You just need a few blank DVDs to create the disks I recommend DVD-R from Verbatim or TDK media.

    Hmmm don't look good buddy.
    According to your message, you are not able to boot in Vista or using of the * "Launch Start up repair" * or * "Start windows normally" * procedure

    Unfortunately, I put t see any other possibility as to take the disk recovery and recovery of the laptop.

    It looks like a serious system problem that can be solved only by using the recovery disc and reinstall new OS.
    But note; the recovery disc formats the drive HARD integer for you will lose all data :(
