Original title; Windows media player

I can't find win media player in vista Home premium 6.0 svce pack 2. I want to burn a cd with it.

Have you tried typing the name in the search of start? If so, you will need to download it if it is not.

  • Lack of playlists in Windows Media Player 12 for Windows 7

I installed Windows 7 and now with the help of Windows Media Player 12 to organize my music collection.  I created several playlists within WMP that are saved to libraries/music/my music/playlists.  However, when I open WMP, none of these playlists appear.  How can I fix it so I can access the playlists in WMP?

Also, there are three playlists in WMP I want.  I tried right click and delete, but they are still there.  Any ideas on how to get rid of these playlists?

    Hello

You can follow these steps and check whether the problem is resolved:

The Windows Media Player library database may be damaged.

Step 1: delete the database of Windows Media Player. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. exit Windows Media Player.
    b. Click Start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player and then click OK.
    c. Select all files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.
Note: you don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.
    d. restart Windows Media Player.
Note: Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files.

    Step 2:
    a. exit Windows Media Player.
    b. Click Start, click Run, type % LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft and then click OK.
    c. Select the Media Player folder, and then click on Delete on the file menu.
    d. restart Windows Media Player.

Step 3: Disable and re-enable Windows Media Player.

Disable the media player by following these steps:

    a. go to start and in the search type 'Turn Windows has or not'.
    b. click on "Turn Windows features on or off".
    c. find multimedia and uncheck the brand in the face of Windows Media Player.

Original title: Help with Windows 7 Media Player

I'm not a computer genius and therefore will probably asked a question that has already been asked and answered. My concern is with my Windows 7 Media Player I have on my HP all-in-one. My friend sent me some video clips of his cell phone, I then forwarded to my email account. Then I downloaded them to my file to download. When I tried to play in thse clips, WMP hesitated and told me because of what we call "codecs" or a file format that WMP has not recognized, videos could be played.  So should I upgrade my WMP or find something else that plays the video to cell phone? Thank you.

    Thanks for choosing Microsoft Community!

  • Cannot download plug in for windows media player. Have used the site to download and it says it worked, but the plug-in does not appear on my list of plug-ins.

I tried to hear an appeal of a Web conference. Received a message, necessary plug windows media. Check my plug ins, no windows media. Reading about firefox support tutorial. Clicked on download. Had a window that requires repair or change. Tried to fix it and then change. Need better guidance on how to finish download. Download the message passed, but after firefox closing and re-opening, no still no plug-in for windows media in the list of plug-ins. Go to site and could not hear Conference.
Reading support forum. Message while using about: config. Tried, typed in on: config in Start menu, but do not see anything that looked like I could change for real like message said.
solved by opening internet explore and go to the website and listen to the conference call on windows media player. There was a message saying: If you want to enable media player click here. Not so heard Conference.
Tried using chrome. You have to listen to the Conference yesterday. Today, he had the same message you need to plug in when I tried to follow the instructions in connect, it was just as confusing and useless like firefox. Most is that I tried to make any statement in the suggestions forum for firefox and can not get the windown media connect to appear in my list of plug-ins and can not hear calls for conference on firefox.
Chrome said that they worked on connect available to the chrome store.
I agree with the comments that I was able to go to web sites and to hear the calls before firefox did an update that removed my windows media plug. The fix simple download, two from windows, does not, apparently because firefox cannot find the fix. This isn't for lack of user, and it seems that windows attempted to provide a fix, and firefox does not recognize.
Bottom line, it is easier to use another browser, that trying to get windows connect multimedia player installed on firefox. What is a browser, if you can not hear an appeal on the Web site the browser will take you to? Please make it easy install windows media branch on firefox. Thank you..

If you get the screen to change/repair, it means that the Setup program has detected that you have already installed the plugin.

Do you not see the file here:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\Plugins

Its file name is: np - mswmp.dll

If the file is missing, I suggest to delete and then reinstall the plugin.

Edit: By removing and then reinstalling I mean using the delete button under the modification and repair buttons in the Setup program, and then run Setup to reinstall.

  • Method used by Windows Media Player error correction

    Hello.

Could someone tell me - in technical terms - that the option "use error correction" in Windows Media Player makes when copying audio CD tracks?

I would like to make possible more precise PMR using WMP, but the lack of information about the method used by WMP special error correction makes it difficult know when or even if you need to select the option.

For example, I wonder if the use of error correction could result in a less accurate RIP (for example, if the method used favors estimate on rereads multiples of a CD damaged surface.) Also, for example, assuming that the error correction is always beneficial, I wonder if it is always worth the burden of extra time (for example, tearing a new CD with no surface damage.)

I am aware that the audio CD support a system of "forward error correction", that is to correct errors code being inserted in the music of the data from the drive. What is the allusion makes WMP error correction? (If Yes, then why don't I have hear occasional noise and click in the .wma file generated when "use error correction" is unchecked?)

A technical response would be highly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello

Error correction looking for points on the CD where it is unable to read and will attempt to read them again.

It will not lead to inaccurate burns.

  • Files Windows media player list pane and wav

During playback of the files audio wav media player try to read the label at the beginning of the file (which is absurd in many cases because of the lack of support of the tag embedded in this format) instead of displaying the name of the file in the list pane, which obviously contains the title of the song.  It is unthinkable that there is no adjustment or the solution to this problem.

    Hello

To resolve this problem, delete the Windows Media Player database. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Exit Windows Media Player.
    2. Click Start, click run, type %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.
    3. Select all the files in the folder, and then click delete on the file menu.

Note You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

    4. Restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Exit Windows Media Player.
    2. If you are running Windows XP, click Start, click run, type %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoftand then click OK.
    3. Select the Media Player folder, and then click delete on the file menu.
    4. Restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

Types of files supported by Windows Media Player:

  • Import the data from the record music in Windows Media Player

I'm importing WAV files in the music folder.  The data associated with these files include time and size of the file, running that were determined by Windows and listed with each track.  Windows Media Player has the value import these files, it does.  However, in random cases, the execution time is not captured by Media Player, and so they are reported in the burn list and will not burn.  I get a message that if I play the track, the running time can be picked up, but it did not work.  The information is complete in the music folder.  Is it possible that I can manually transfer these data? (Note - since posting this question, I decided to experiment.  I removed the tracks in Media Player lacking of run times and their re-importation with the menu item drop library «Add to library...» "and they have been re-imported with run times.
