Hello JaunitoHortoni,

What service pack Windows XP do you currently use?
You can check this by clicking on 'my computer' and selecting Properties. A box will appear showing your Windows Version and Service Pack (if any)
If you are not running Windows XP Service Pack 3, then I suggest download and install it to see if it solves your problems Wireless:

BIOS bug? I don t think so

First of all, you must make sure that this isn't a hardware problem. In this case, insert the Toshiba Recovery CD and reinstall the operating system of this device. This will outline the laptop to factory settings. Notes; This would format the whole HARD drive.

After the new installation, you must activate the WLan switch on the side of books, and you can then use the switch button FN + F8 to select the WiFi network.

I assume that you have already configured your Wlan router. So the same settings such as the SSID, encryption of WLan, etc. must be defined on the laptop too.

  • How to get two laptops to access the wireless network.

My chip wireless on a Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop (intel pro wireless 3954bg) can find the wireless network if I use Intel Pro software, but Windows cannot find the wireless network. My real growth problem trying to connect a second computer; an IBM T42 think Pad computer to the wireless network, but I get a message that the network is secure, and the second computer keeps trying to acquire an address, but will not acquire an address. He just continues to try to acquire again and again, he can never acquire it. This second computer using Windows to configure the Wi - Fi connection and was working fine until I tried to connect the Dell laptop upward. Then, the IBM laptop cannot acquire an address. I go around and try to understand it. Someone at - it information to solve this problem? Both computers are runing Windows XP Pro SP3. My wireless router is a Belkin54g (F5D7230-4V8000)

    Thanks for any help,

    Btk (billy the kid)

You can control a with either wireless network adapter software integrated in Windows XP (or WZC Wireless Zero Configuration) or with software provided by the manufacturer of the card (for example, Intel PROSet/Wireless), but not both at the same time.

Most, but not all, software configuration wireless no Windows is smart enough to disable WZC automatically.

There are a few sites that offer "safety tips" for wireless networks which includes 'hide' your wireless network by disabling the SSID broadcast.  This is not a good idea and does not, in fact, your wireless security.  See http://blogs.technet.com/b/steriley/archive/2007/10/16/myth-vs-reality-wireless-ssids.aspx if you have disabled broadcast SSID of your router, automatic configuration won't be able to find it.

I get a message that the network is secure, and the second computer guard trying to acquire an address, but will not acquire an address

If you have enabled encryption wireless router (a very good idea), you will need to enter the correct password in order to connect a find an IP address. What type of wireless encryption configured on the router?

This second computer using Windows to configure the Wi - Fi connection and was working fine until I tried to connect the Dell laptop upward. Then the IBM laptop cannot acquire an address.

You have changed something else.  The idea of a wireless network is to allow multiple computers to connect; connection to a computer shouldn't affect how another computer connects.

The easiest way is to configure your router to connect a computer using an Ethernet cable (if you connect wireless, you will be disconnected when you make a change to the configuration of the router wireless).  For the Belkin router User Guide is here--> http://cache-www.belkin.com/support/dl/p74559-f_f5d7230-4v8xxx_manual.pdf

Open a web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.) and type 192.168.2.1 in the address box.  You should get to the home page of the router. Click on the "Login" link at the top.  The default password for the router is blank (no password) unless you changed it.

Click on the link "Channel and SSID" under the heading "wireless" on the left side of the page.

    • Make sure that there is to check the "Broadcast SSID"
    • "Wireless mode" should be "g only" or "fashion g and b" (the latter is necessary only if you have a very old b wireless adapter in one of your computers)
    • I suggest you let off QoS (but click on "more info" or see what says the User Guide)
    • The wireless channel should be 1, 6 or 11.  If you have no difficulties, let him you will find
    • "Protected mode" should be off (but click on "more info" or see what says the User Guide)
    • If you make changes, click on "Apply Changes".

Click on the 'Security' line under the heading "wireless".  You should be able to see both what type (if any) encryption is configured (64-bit WEP, 128-bit WEP, WPA, or WPA2) and the password (if any).  Unless your computer maps are old, you should use WPA2.  If the adapter in one or more of your computers is too old to be capable of WPA2, use WPA.  Regardless of the bit, WEP length, is easily broken.

  • HP1102w continues to lose the network SSID

My Laserjet 1102w wireless worked fine for about a year.  Now he has started to lose my network connection.  When I print a status page, it shows that it is "connected" to SSID HP8AA7DC, which I assume is the default value of HP, and had no IP address.  I re-installed the printer 3 times in 4 days and it works fine for a day, then the same thing happens.  I am running Windows 7.  To my knowledge, nothing has changed recently other than to have an extra laptop using the network (never printed however).  This could be the cause?

OK, thanks for that.  We will set an IP address of the printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address.  Set the IP Address of the printer to the same as its IP address but replace the latest figures with "250".
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Enter the IP of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the gateway.
-Enter for the first DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for second DNS. It's Google DNS. You can choose a different external DNS if you wish.
    -Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

After that, you will have to redo 'Add printer' using the new IP address.

  • Flea market Vista laptop connects to the wireless network

    Hello

I just got a computer mobile opportunity and I can't connect to our net at all. We have another laptop and a PC that both executed 7 that connect to it no problem at all. It is very strange that the laptop works perfectly, displays the connection, but point blank refuses to connect! I wonder if it is because it is not password protected? (I know, I know, but the PC does connect to him otherwise, that's weird). Any help is most appreciated!

    Hello

These steps and tell us where is the breaking point.

Check the Device Manager for the wireless card valid entry.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_dm.jpg

If there is no valid entry, remove any entry from fake and re - install the drivers for the wireless card.

Check network connections to make sure that you have a network icon/entry wireless connection, and that the properties of the icon (right-click on the icon) are correctly configured with the TCP/IPv4 protocol in the properties of network connections.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_connection_tcp.jpg

    ------------------

The wireless card drivers much also install utility wireless of the seller.

Make sure that if there are teas from Wireless Utility of seller does not work with the native Windows wireless utility (Service WLAN).

    ----------------

Make sure you firewall No. preventing / blocks wireless components to join the network.

Some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible set up the firewall correctly, otherwise totally uninstall and get rid of its remaining processes that permit the own local network traffic flow.

If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .

party like Hello and NetMagic 3rd network managers can block local traffic too.

    ---------------------------

Stack TCP/IP work should look like.

Right-click on the wireless network connection card, select status, details and see if she got an IP address and the rest of the settings.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/status-NIC.jpg

Description is the data of the card making.

The physical address is MAC of the card number.

The xx must be a number between 0 and 255 (all xx even number).

YY should be between 0 and 255

ZZ should be between 0 and 255 (zz all the same number.)

The date of the lease must be valid at the present time.

    * Note 1. IP that starts with 169.xxx.xxx.xxx isn't valid functional IP.

    * Note 2. There could be an IPv6 entries too. However, they are not functional for Internet or LAN traffic. They are necessary for Win 7 homegroup special configuration.

    ---------------------------------------------------

A message in the small window that says connected wireless doesn't means that you are really a valid functional connection.

Above everything is OK, you must be able to connect to the router.

Connection to the router means that you can enter the IP of the router base in an address bar in one go, being able to connect and configure the router menus see.

If it doesn't connect to the router, journal newspaper from any computer that can connect to the router wirelessly with a wire, disable wireless security, make sure that the wireless SSID broadcast is enabled and try to connect with no. wireless security.

Enable security wireless after you eat to make a functional connection.

  • I cannot print to my photosmart C5280 of my laptop computer on the wireless network

I have a Toshiba L750 running the operating system of Windows 7 32 bit and I am unable to print on my HP Photosmart C5280 printer. The printer is connected to my desktop which works on Windows 7 64 - bit OS with an ethernet cable. The printer works fine from the desktop and the laptop captures the internet wireless via the modem attached to the Office so that the network connection seems to be OK. I am also able to access the shared files on the desktop hard drive of the laptop which again seems to confirm that the network connection is fine. I tried to update the drivers concerned and all seem to be up to date. Previously, I was able to print from the laptop, but for some reason any, that he will no longer work. I have installed the printer software from the original CD supplied with the printer on the laptop to see if that would solve the issue, but nothing helped. I uninstalled from this software. I am at a loss and frustrated. I have also been through the printer Troubleshooter and Microsoft MrFIXIT, to anything will do. Someone out there of the clues as to what could be causing my problem? I might also mention that HP laptop of my son is able to print to this printer without any problems.

Which, in my view, could have gone, it's that you used on your desktop printer sharing to allow other computers on your home network to access. Here's a video of Microsoft on how you can achieve:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/share-a-printer

Let me know if that solves the problem!

  • My laptop can not find wireless networks

My laptop can not find wireless connections, that it works fine when I use an Ethernet cable.

It works on 64-bit windows and has a intel wifi link 1000 series

The most likely reason is that the wireless card is turned off or disabled.  Most laptops have this feature in order to save battery power if the wifi is not necessary.  Depending on your laptop, it is a physical switch or a combination of the Fn key and one of the F keys.  See your User Guide for more information.

You can also check the Device Manager (click the ORB start and type Device Manager and then press the Enter key).  Expand the "Network adapters" section by clicking on the arrow to the left and then double-click the entry for the Intel Wifi Link.  Check 'Device status' in the 'General tab '.

I have however lost the use of the function fn (end?) of the keyboard since and therefore cannot control the lighting of the screen and so on via the F keys any longer.

Also, my computer can not detect wireless networks more. I did all the required updates and checked the State of the wireless card, but still nothing.

    Any ideas?

    See you soon!

    Hello

May I ask what system you have installed on this laptop?
    Is - this Windows 7?

If you are using Windows 7, you need to install Toshiba Value added Package and Support Toshiba Flash Cards for utility work affects FN.

I m nit course on the WLan driver because different C660-xxx supports various wireless network cards. Perhaps you could provide the name of the complete model of the C660-xxx
This would facilitate the search for the Wlan driver.

Can someone write me step by step how this fix.

Please help me and sorry for my English :)

    > Also may try to reinstall the drivers that appear in this web site, appear here the Atheros drivers your need of portable.

Your computer laptop doesn t support card Atheros, but card Realtek WLan.

    > In Device Manager, everything is ok, but I can't connect.
As you say the WLan card is recognized correctly, but you can't connect.
    Why?

I m do not know why, but you should check first if your WLan router uses the same standard WLan (802.11 A, B or G) as the WLan card.
    Check the settings!

Then check if the right WLan encryption has been selected, check if the Mac address was not enabled, check if the firewall doesn t affect the WLan connectivity.

  • Satellite P100-429 - new wireless network card does not work

    Hello

    I just upgraded my home network to the draft of the standard "n" and thought that I would upgrade my wireless card on my laptop P100-429;
Laptop is under Vista Home Premium and has the latest version of BIOS and drivers installed.

Laptop currently has an equipped Intel 3945ABG card that works very well. I bought an Intel 4965AGN card but when I enter it, the powers of computer to top, but wont load (lights, fan-nothing else)

Okay - so I read on some forums, could be a bad card, so I bought a brand Toshiba 4965AGN card - P/N G86C0002P710
Still having the same problem - the computer refuses to start. Intel technical support say the card should work?
Obviously is a compatibility problem - what can I do about it?

Or did someone knows what kind of card I should use?

    Thanks for your help!

I m not a Satellite P100 owner but is your laptop equipped with 3 antennas or only 2?
If your laptop has only 2 antennas t, you can pass it to N project because this WiFi standard needs of 3 antennas.

I think that your laptop has only 2 antennas, so that would be the reason why the two cards are not compatible to your laptop.

    That should make it work.

Then start the windows update program and see if he can find a newer driver.

If this isn't the case, run the utility driver Intel update and he must find a newer driver.
