Laptop crashing then in mode 'sleep'

Recently, my laptop (a HP Notebook 2000) began to encounter a problem when I close the screen and place the laptop in "standby mode", then it freezes and turns off mode 'sleep'. After the reboot, I got error messages advising me that the system suffered a blue screen and was forced to close. This has happened at least 3 times in the past week.

Are included. DMP files that resulted from these 3 incidents: http://1drv.ms/1lUnekC

I'd appreciate any help that could be offered. I'm not particularly keen and these accidents really put me in a bind.

These three landfills were fairly consistent, as the athrx.sys being the cause.

Description of the driver: Daemon Tools driver

If the driver Atheros and potentially the driver Daemon Tools, cause my problems? I guess I can just uninstall Daemon Tools outright and that will solve the problem (I really don't use it anyway.)

Thanks for the reply, as well.

The Atheros driver is the culprit... I did just notice the Daemon Tools, because they are known to cause a BSOD and Yes you can uninstall.

    Hello

I m wondering if the option (in BIOS) called Wake-Up on the keyboard is turned on.
To restore the functioning of the computer from sleep mode, press the power button or any key on the dock of the keyboard for a short period of time. But the keys on the keyboard can be used if the option is enabled.

Note: when the laptop is in Sleep Mode, the power indicator of will blink white. If the light flashes white, the computer laptop isn t set mode sleep!

  • Satellite L855 - 14 p - USB ports do not work after the mode 'sleep'

    Heya guys,

I have a strange problem today. The 2 USB inputs on the right side of the laptop (idk who is 2.0 or 3.0) does not work with the reason I can not perceive. These 2 guys are on different days, but in the same way. A month ago, I plugged the mouse USB wireless to one of them, then entered mode 'sleep'. When I came back, I discovered the work of mouse aint.

Then I realized the port I plugged the key USB has no electiricity inside no more. I found it very strange and continuous without using the port of broken, until yesterday. Yesterday, I made the same mistake (a la mode "sleep" in a USB port plugged into the other port - work-) and I have re-opened, the 2nd port is broken in the same way, too. I've mastered Manager devices, regedit, but it has no use. This lead me to think his could be a hardware problem, but how can be possible? Is this a coincidence?

Now, I have to use my 3rd and last port on the right side of the laptop with a USB duplicator.
You have any ideas? Can it be a software problem?

Understand this correctly? The USB ports mentioned don t work even after restarting a new laptop?

In this case, it could be really a hardware problem
But before talking about hardware problems, I recommend to recover the laptop using Toshiba recovery.

Defining the notebook back to factory settings will help you identify the problem: If the USB ports wouldn't work, this s hardware problem.

  • HP Envy laptop - 15-ae011na: HP Envy - keyboard and Trackpad not working after the mode 'sleep'.

    HP Envy laptop - 15-ae011na

I have this laptop for only 1 week, he did various updates. I guess that's from Windows 8 to 8.1. He also completed an update of the BIOS with HP Support Assistant.

Question: When the awakening of my laptop mode 'sleep', my trackpad and keyboard do not work, I have unlock my PC using HP Simple pass, then press the power button to restart the machine.

Troubleshooting: I followed some advice for troubleshooting on the support page which lead me to uninstall the keyboard driver then restart my machine. I have all the latest drivers aswell.

Someone has an idea what might be causing the problem? Ideally, I'd like to do a restore or upgrade of Windows 10 immediately.

    Thank you.

Looks like this has been caused some my driver problem with Windows 8.1 and I guess that's with HP SimplePass such that it would not recognize the keyboard and the trackpad after waking up to use it.

I have upgraded to Windows 10 that looks like a solved the problem.

After receiving the last windows update for Windows Vista Premium, when you try to enter standby the computer hangs and will not enter sleep mode.
Before reveiving updates he managed to switch mode sleep without problem and did every time. It will enter is no longer waiting for any means.
I tried windows backup and Restore Center. After you select an older version before April 12, 2009, he was able to enter standby mode once more. Only after that the new updates, it was uninstalled had been relocated was not able to enter standby again.
Initially, the computer starts to enter standby by closing the form. Then it goes weird after that, by the computer itself (which he never did before) inhibition and then it just hangs and the power light will not go to the flashing red indicating standby remains just green, who is running.
The Hard drive is still spinning and accessing the hard drive very fast and light second every two seconds.
When any key on the keyboard is hit the computer restores the sound itself and a sound through the speakers, which he has not already done. It then the screen turns on and brings the computer to lock screen / connection of the computer. I am able to log in and use normally.

    Hello, Justin

Standby is activated in the Plan of high power Performance?

You can check it out by going in the Power Options, click on change Plan under High Performance settings and check the computer put to sleep. If this option is enabled, click on change advanced power settings click on [+] Multimedia settings, when sharing media and change the setting to allow the computer to sleep.

Let us know if that helps.

  • Laptop freezes when restored from sleep mode.

    Hello
    I'm running Windows XP, SP3 on a laptop Lenovo Thinkpad 61 T.
My computer works fine, except that if I put in mode 'sleep' and then wake it, it freezes. Even the Windows shut down does not work, and I have to restart with the power button.  When the computer reboots, it works fine.  I did virus scans and even replaced the operating system and installed programs with an image that I made well before this problem started.
I could use some advice.  Thanks in advance.
    Dan S

Could be something as simple as a video driver, or a change in the power settings.

Can first update you your video driver to the latest version available?

The go to start > Search > type CMD > right click and run as admin > type powercfg /a

Cutting results and upload them to us here.

  • HP laptop (Vista Home Premium) won't wake up mode 'sleep'

My HP Pavilion dv6910us laptop will follow the recommended power options and enter "sleep mode", as you want it or made-to-order... among the STARTUP options or by closing the lid.  However, once he is in "sleep" mode it won't wake up.  The LED on the power button flashes and the indicator on the chassis... but by pressing, open the lid or by touching the keys is useless... he wakes.

To restart the laptop, I have to disconnect power, remove the battery and then connect the power/insert battery.  Needless to say, it causes Windows down and declare an unexpected shutdown during the power upward.  I did the research many resolutions... currently, my best solution is to change the power options so that when plugged the laptop doesn't go to sleep and then if I disconnect I have to shut it down... Rather, I don't have to go through this hassle all the time.

I've followed many troubleshooting procedures... Updated BIOS update... Updated graphics driver... I even tried a "clean boot"... no additional services except for Windows services and has always had the same problem.

    Please... Help!

  • The screen of my laptop not turn on after being in mode 'sleep'

Let me start by saying that I am a novice in computer repair, so advice please put in laymon's terms! My problem started a few weeks ago, when my Dell inspiron 1526 would not resume when I opened the lid of the laptop.  (I rarely have to cut the power, just close the lid) When he started to arrive, I have to cut the power and turn off several times to get my computer to come back.  I did research on the internet for a solution (because I had resorted to all leaving the lid open).  I found one that worked for me... I did the following:

Click on the start menu, then right click on "computer" and click Properties.
Click the Manager option of devices on the left.
Under "System devices", one of the first should be the appliance close the lid.  Right click and click on "Update Driver Software".
Click "Browse my computer...". ", and then"Let Me pick from a list... ". »
    Uncheck it "Show compatible Hardware".
In the list on the right, scroll down, select Manager of Volume and click Next.

It was running great until the other day when I accidentally clicked on the Start button and then put the computer in mode 'sleep'.  Well now the computer screen lights up not at all.  All my family and I spent the weekend all put under tension of the laptop then turn it back, nothing will do.  I am now in panic mode since I use my computer to work from home as well as to take some college courses online! I found a lot of advice on this subject, but all of them are to be able to actually see what is on the screen! I need to know how to put the screen on the first!  I tried to take out the battery and unplug it but that no longer works. I know the computer becomes power b/c I can hear fans and restarting, but the screen does not light.  Help, please! From what I read it seems that it is a big problem with windows vista users!

    Hello

Since it is not initialize, I suggest you to contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer for more help with this.

  • Safari crashes after waking from sleep mode mac mini

And to make things more awkward, it seems to freeze with youtube and google. He has not done this since the beginning. Lately, he's starting to do this. It is so boring. All other sites work except these two, or at least those's ones I learned to freeze. Open a new Help window sometimes. But earlier, I had to start the mac everything again to access youtube. So what to do? After the mode 'sleep', I can't seem to google, but I can get to atavist for example. YouTube is the only place that I can't replace and for real - it's so idiots clitch he needs an explanation.

  • ZBook17: How can I keep my laptop switch mode 'sleep'

How can I keep my computer to switch into mode 'sleep'. At the moment, the screen turns off in a minute about. I adjusted all the settings of power, but nothing seems to help.

I regret that none of these steps seems to fix your problem, it's frustrating. Here are some more that you can try to see if the problem is resolved or changes in some way:

    1. Installation/update antivirus application and definitions, then run a virus in Windows scan check that no virus or malware
    2. Disabling hybrid sleep in Windows
    3. Disabling the requirement for password during the resumption of the mode standby
    4. Try a different power source

If you need instructions on how to perform these tasks, see the following document:

  • Laptop stops in mode 'sleep'

I recently bought a HP ENVY 15 t-j100 Quad CTO Notebook Windows 7 Professional Edition (PC product #: E1P05AV). I usually close the cover to put it to sleep when I have to do something else. But when I open it upwards, there the 'start windows normally or in safe mode' sreen. I noticed that this only occurs after a certain amount of time to be in mode 'sleep'. If I wake up before this, it works fine. I hope this can be resolved because it is a new laptop.

    Hello

I looked into this question for you, that something was bugging me after reading your last two posts. First of all, the re-create it the image is not correct the problem, means something else is causing the problem, but what we still don't know. Secondly, you can use another program to have the laptop sleep properly so, it's something for your computer, counter was what is the cause of not waking from sleep.

Talk with a colleague, I got some ideas for you to try.

The first, under Windows 7 it is an automatic restart on error. I have a document that will allow you to disable it. What could happen is that when you "wake up" the laptop, something is causing an error, this is what causes the reboot of the system. The 'error' go unnoticed due to the restart function.
How to disable automatic failure system in Windows 7 reboot - this article from about.com, can help you with turning off this feature.

After that, I like you t would restore default power schemes.
Windows 7 - restore default eating patterns - en.kioskea.net article, has orders for it.
Reasoning to do this, is something installed on the laptop, the power setting change might have. Causing "glitch or mistake" which is not allowing the laptop to wake up.

Finally, outside your mouse and keyboard, just unplug all the other devices (USB, specifically) and test. This is to see if any of these cause conflicts.

Test after that as much as you can, if you notice the problem start the reconnection of the devices (if you have others) to see. In addition, with the error recovery is disabled, if you get an error you should be able to capture him now. If you can provide please, this will give a much clearer idea of what is going on. More just guessing.

I would like to know how it all happens.
    Thank you.

When our standard Dell Vista machine is put into mode 'sleep' almost always wakes up in 30 seconds approximately. It is in "standby mode" for more than a few minutes it then randomly wakes at other times.

There is no scheduled tasks or updates running during these times so I don't know why he wakes up so often. SP1 has been applied and its updated with patches.
