Laptop HP 15-R084NG: is it possible to copy a HP recovery on another USB flash drive support?

Hello.

Just a few questions please:

1. when I do only once "HP Recovery Media" to a USB key, I can then 'copy' and 'paste' on another USB flash drive as long as the 2nd flash player has sufficient capacity?

The recovery still works well?

I ask this question in case I have to change to another USB flash drive and I am aware I can only have a copy of the HP recovery.

2. If this is the case, I then can also make a backup on a Western Digital external drive so that in case of malfunction of the USB flash drive, can I still transfer files to another USB flash drive?

Thanks in advance for the answer.

Best regards.

Hello

As it's a laptop, it should have been an operating system pre-installed on it when new

Here are the different methods to reinstall that preinstalled operating system:

You can contact the manufacturer of your laptop and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

Manufacturers that make normally for a fee.

This may not work as a pirated copy was installed:

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery on the drive Partition hard reinstall Windows how much you bought your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Them or us ask the right sequence of key.

These two methods of resettlement generally do not require allows you to provide a product key during Installation, the recovery process uses the Installation product key factory to activate automatically during the resettlement process.

This applies only if Windows 7 is the original operating system pre-installed when the laptop is new (COA sticker check)

Download the correct ISO file and make your own drive and use the product key located on the COA sticker.

And Neosmart has instructions on how to burn ISO disk images using imgburn:

    Then do a clean install:

The COA sticker is either or in the battery compartment on the underside of the laptop.

With a desktop computer, it's on the side, the back or the top of the computer case.

By using the downloaded ISO file method can require the Activation of phone.

If it does require phone activation, do not follow Demand of Auto, but brace yourself for a real person explain as to what has been done for purposes of re-setup

  • I got a 4 GB USB flash drive to reinstall Windows 7 with her because my laptop stop error code: 80070001.

Now, my problem is that the amount of files to 5.74 GB but my USB key can contain up to 3.72 GB. Is it possible to make smaller files on the OS DVD to fit on my USB key?

The fact that there is 4.7 GB of data (standard DVD above to 4.7) in a double-layer DVD is about 8 GB, that's probably why. I don't know how to identify a physical support to research. I do not think that DELL uses out of the media shelf based either what I read in the following thread, Double layer is gold, while standard is Silver:

    Hello:

A few suggestions you can try... If they do not, unfortunately, I don't have any other suggestions.

2 boot from a USB 2 of the laptop ports.  It won't boot from a port USB3.

  • Laptop HP 17 p100: how the usb flash drive big that I have to create a system of 10 Windows Recovery?

How the big usb flash drive do I need to create a system of 10 Windows Recovery?

    Yes

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

There is really no way accurately guess in advance, with one of the reasons being that the options are available when you do this.  An option creates a recovery drive minimum with what is needed to repair the operating system.  Another option creates an image that is able to completely restore the operating system and its partition.  Thus, the size can vary from 4 GB to the size of the partition to the OS.

Myself, I found as build-in recovery to be unreliable, especially those of Ms.  So instead, I use a third-party imaging/restoration solution known as Macrium Reflect.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

My experience is that SIR, when you use the option of Compression high, typically allows to compress the image file recorded at about 50% of the space USED in the OS partition.  This means that if you have a 40GB and 80GB OS partition is used, MR must only about 20 GB to store the image file.

I use all the time and it usually takes less than 10 minutes to make the backup of the image and at the same time or less do a restore.  In addition, MR has the ability to add a recovery Boot Menu entry.  This then allows you to boot into Windows re, and then you can use it to do a restore - when you cannot start Windows!

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

    Good luck

    Hello

Unfortunately, you can only create 1 set of recovery media.

Copy and burn recovery USB DVD and then using DVD to make the system recovery will not work.

What you can do is to backup all your data on an external drive. Do a factory reset with the USB of recovery to recover all partitions including the recovery on the HARD drive partition.

I have a lot of problems with flash drives and card readers that plug about my ports detected usb, I just buy a new drive 16 GB flash (HP) as above is said on this plug and play, but when I plug it I can't, there is no prompt and if I remove usb it doesn't show there either I have about six card readers and they worked when I used them first, but now I think that there is only one that works. Can you help me please?

What a fool I am, because the new style of USB is a solid piece, it allows you to put it in the wrong way round, which is what I did, but your help led me to the solution. Thank you very much

  • Is it possible to copy my original files with a backup hard drive with re-import them?

I'm doing a copy of external backup everything on a hard drive, I can work from. I saved the backup catalog on a new hard drive and I can copy my originals to the new hard drive outside of lightroom, but I don't know how to get lightroom to be able to work the new copy. What I have to re-import everything? I also tried 'Find missing folder' but then she moves the folder to the new hard drive and I don't have two copies of work.

I use Lightroom4. My original files are stored on an external hard drive. I don't know of anyway to copy files into lightroom.

    Thank you

Since then, we discussed backups... I think it's a mistake to use your backups of your photos and use your backup catalog files. In my opinion, when you perform a backup, you should leave here on intact and unused backup disk, for ever and ever, except in the case where your originals get destroyed or damaged somehow.

So, if you really want to use your backups in the way you described - don't. Very bad idea. And if you go ahead and do it anyway, then Yes, you must re-bind the missing files every time you go.

  • Is it possible to recover it via a USB CD drive?

    Hello

the original cd/dvd on my laptop drive is broken, so my question:

is it possible to do the recovery via a usb cd drive, I tried with a windows cd regular and that worked, but now I wonder what to expect from the recovery cd

one more thing, the laptop is re-installed once at a computer store, but I don't know if they used the recovery cd, but I guess not...

is it still possible to make a recovery, or should I use some sort of thing hard disk which is cleared by this custom installation. because I don't know if all ghost files are on the dvd collection and I so don't know what

    Thank you very much!!

    No, certainly not possible.
It is not possible to boot from external USB drive.
As far as I remember most of the laptops and the BIOS supports a booting from USB - FDD / LAN / CD and HARD drive.
