Laptop (HP ZV6000) and WRT160N plu connection problems

I recently got a new HP Touchsmart 600 and set up with a Linksys WRT160Nv2 router. The Touchsmart works fine, no problem, and is so the Dell Latitude D630 I use for work.

However, for some reason, I can't get on the internet through our other computer, which is an older HP Pavilion ZV6000.

I implemented the Broadcom Wireless software that came with the computer and it says that it is "connected" to the router wireless... but when I open Internet Explorer, it says 'cannot connect to the Internet'... and immediately goes to work offline.

I used to have the laptop HP connected to a Linksys WRT54GS wireless router and never had any problems (or, at least, nothing that I couldn't solve).

Is there some kind of conflict between the WRT160N and the HP Mini PCI Broadcom 802. 11B / G wireless LAN Card?

You have the static IP address on the HP laptop.

Do the automatic IP address settings wireless network connection and see if you are able to access the Internet.

  • Laptop with Satellite U300-153 wireless connectivity problem

I bought a laptop model Toshiba Satellite U300-153. I liked the laptop for its impressive looks and simplicity. But I am facing a problem with its WiFi connectivity. It shows * LIMIT CONNECTIVIY * and cannot browse the Internet. It shows the APIPA ip address.

Help me solve this problem. Without WiFi, I can't imagine a laptop...

    Thanks in advance

There are a few general options that must be verified.
First check if your WLan driver can be updated.
Second, you must Access the properties of the Protocol TCP/IP of WLan and must check if all options are set for the automatic.

Last but not least all firewall settings should be checked also. Most incorrect security settings might prevent the internet connection.

  • Wireless and wired Internection connection problems

    Hello community,

My first question concerns my wireless laptop connection (or lack of it). I rebooted my router (because I forgot my password), who restored the device to factory default settings.  When I've reconfigured the router, I was unable to connect to the Internet via a wireless connection. When I troubleshoot with Windows 7, it says that I need to connect an Ethernet cable from the router to the laptop.  However, it was not necessary when the connection to the local area network (LAN) via a public network worked without error.  In addition, when I check my wireless network connection, it shows that the signal strength is excellent and a connection is attempted, but without success.  When I open the network and sharing Center, there is no LAN.  Is it possible that something is blocking access to the LAN? It wasn't a problem, before I changed the router username and password the default user and password. Something is flooded with this situation.

A second problem occurred when I tried to connect my desktop computer directly to the external modem from my ISP in which I work around the router. There is no Internet connection when this happened.  Before configuring the router via wireless connectivity, the direct connection between the external model of my ISP and my office worked without error. Your thoughts on these two issues are very popular.

    Thank you in advance.

We're going to do in the first place the wireless and see if we can make it work.

Go to the router configuration page (it can be www.routerlogin.com or an IP address, depending on your brand.) See your documentation for him.). Under "wireless" parameters must be a place to enter the password you will need to know to access the router. If it is always the default value (which will be probably if reset you factory default), then change to something unique.

Open the network and sharing Center and click on 'Manage wireless networks' in the left column. Right click on your wireless connection and on the Security tab, select the settings of your router is to (WPA, WPA-2, etc.) and the type of encryption. Then enter the password that you put in the router in the box "network security key. On the connection tab, uncheck "automatically connect...". "for the time being. OK, and then restart. Check if your wireless network is working now.

To connect to the modem, you may need to recover from the IP. Open a command window, type ipconfig/release and press ENTER. When that finished, type ipconfig / renew and press ENTER. Now you should be able to connect directly through the modem.

Thing, that I forgot to mention, while you are in the configuration of your router, make sure that "Enable SSID Broadcast" (or a similar expression) is checked.

  • Application and transport layer connection problems

I'm running a redundant configuration: PIX 515E 6.3 (1). I have the following problems to servers on the Internet but only from certain sites.

FTP - finishes negotiating 3 lanes and the 4th package which is used at the login prompt takes about 90 seconds to appear. Once the login prompt appears, FTP is normal speed.

HTTP - this happens on every 1 to 4 hours. SYN and SYN, ACK is going very well. The client who must send the receipt to complete negotiation 3 way sends a RST instead.

SSH - 3 - way handshake is fine, keys exchanged, but the guest of home directory takes 90 to 180 seconds is displayed after a successful login. If the password is incorrect, the session will end in a normal time.

I tested a system in front of the firewall and all scenrios work very well. I also tested the two firewalls, one at a time to exclude a hardware problem on a single PIX.

I've noticed these problems that occur with great frequency, the next day I upgraded to a key 3DES/AES key. Anyone seen this before? Should I possibly ask another key? I've seen these problems to less frequent even before I upgraded the key, so I don't know that that's the problem.

    Thank you

It could be the reverse dns problems - ssh is notorious for taking forever to connect when the ssh server can't do a reverse dns lookup of the host that you connect with.

Basically, if 'nslookup your.client.ip.here' does not return a hostname, it is most likely the problem
