laptop is no longer connects to the wifi at home

Computer Dell laptop for my son will connect is no longer our home wifi. It's just less than a year and work very well so that there is one month. Other devices (other laptop Windows 7, Windows 8 Wallpapers xbox) connect without problems. It is a Dell Inspiron N7110 under Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1. The laptop detects the network and said that the signal strength is 'good' or 'excellent', yet he seems stuck in the login process, cycling between saying 'sign in' and 'limited access' next to the network name.  At the top of the login window, it says currently connected to: identification... (network name)  not followed by any network access.  I tried running the convenience store and reset the network card, but this has not solved the problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Troubleshooting-new HP with Windows 7 spectrum XT, does not connect to the WiFi at home?

So I just got my brand new HP ENVY spectrum XT Ultrabook with Windows 7 Home Premium installed. 64 bit. I start it, everything works fine, except that when I connect to my WiFi at home. I tried to connect, entered my password, but it does not connect. Also tried the easy connection on the router. No luck. I checked my old laptop which runs on Windows Vista to see if WiFi worked always, and this is where it gets interesting. I was able to browse the internet and internet worked, but suddenly Windows informed me that "another computer uses the same IP address" and it stops my internet capabilities on my old laptop. I connected my cable ethernet on both computers, and it works for both computers when it is plugged. While that plugged, I discovered that I could create my own IP address, which I did on my old laptop and so far that seems to have solved the problem. However, my DESIRE is always not connecting to WiFi. Any advice?

    Hi ZachRhodes3,

    ·         You get the error message?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software .

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2: Follow these steps:

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode with network and check if the problem persists.

Step 2: If the problem does not persist in safe mode with networking, perform a clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow step 7 the link to start the computer to a Normal startupmode.

  • Older Acer laptop is no longer connects to the wireless network.

I have an older Acer, an Aspire 4520 laptop.  When my ISP (Qwest) replace my router and the modem with a modem/router all-in-one (Westell 7500), the laptop was the one computer in the network which was not able to connect.  He does not reject the password (if I type in the right), but tells me my connection attempt has timed out.  I typed the password wrong once to see what would happen and he told me that the password has no agreement with that of the router.  In any case, I connected the computer to the internet, then tried the fix to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928233running, but that did not work.  I looked my material and saw that the Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter and the NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller were working properly.  I did not cheat with the dissemination in the registry setting, because I don't really know where to find it or what to take if I did.  In addition, the computer logs on other networks without wire (at McDonalds).  Any ideas out there?

Here's a tip for the user on the problems of Wi - Fi. Suggest from the top and bottom. Maybe one of them will help you.

    (1) perform a forced reboot: hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons simultaneously for about 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Leave the device to reboot.

    (2) resetting the network settings: settings > general > reset > reset network settings. Join the network again.

    (3) reboot router/Modem: unplug power for 2 minutes and reconnect. Update the Firmware on the router (support Web site of the manufacturer for a new FW check). Also try different bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and different bandwidths (recommended for 2.4 to 20 MHz bandwidth).

    (4) change of Google DNS: settings > Wi - Fi > click the network, delete all the numbers under DNS and enter 8.8.8.8 or otherwise 8.8.4.4

    (5) disable the prioritization of device on the router if this feature is available. Also turn off all apps to VPN and retest the Wi - Fi.

    (6) determine if other wireless network devices work well (other iOS devices, Mac, PC).

    (7) try the device on another network, i.e., neighbors, the public coffee house, etc.

    (8) backup and restore the device using iTunes (ask for more details if you wish).

    (9) go to the Apple Store for the evaluation of the material.

  • Lenovo-g50-30 does not connect to the wifi at home.

Hello everyone, I just signed up a solution.

I got a g50-30 lenovo with windows 8.1 about three weeks ago and I got a wireless problem since then. The laptop connects to my router (Thomson tg582n) but then it shows the limited connection alert. I can browse for about 5 minutes, but just after im unable to do, while the rest of the Smartphones and tablets can connect to it. This problem started about five weeks ago and old macbook, I had, but there does appear to be a fix. In College, I am able to connect to networks without problem wireless and Ethernet works fine as well. I tried everything, reboot and restore the router, change channels and encryption for security, created at the same IP address, I've disabled, restored and turned on windows firewall, released and renewed the IP, DNS blank. Adapter WiFi disabled and enabled, uninstalled the drivers and installed them back again. I did seriously while that I found without success, so I come to you in desperation. It would be the world if you could help. Thank you!

Thank you VERY MUCH FOR the HELP (note the sarcasm)

Anyway guys, I found a very good solution which put an end to my connectivity problems. Go to your wiifi configuration and properties and choose to do a custom, DNS server and then type as main Server 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as secondary (these are the free Google DNS servers) and all your problems will disappear. If anything, do not hesitate to ask.

  • MacBook Pro intermittent connection to the wifi at home. Not met another apple or android products

My MacBook pro does not connect to my BT Homehub5 without several tests. The correct password is rejected. No other apple or android devices used at home have this problem. BT investigated and say it's a problem with my MacBook apple device. I tried to delete the network wifi and access again without success.

According to several reports, the BT router "HomeHub" works best with the latest Mac models if you disable radio 2.4 GHz mode in its settings and only use the 5 GHz. Note, however, that very old devices Apple and some third-party devices can then not connect at all.

  • HP laptop could not connect to the WiFi network

My HP Pavillion G6 connects to the Wifi/Home network. It worked fine until recently. It can see the network but will not connect. My product number is C9M83PA #ABG. There running Windows 8.1. Very frustrating. Help, please

Problem has been fixed. It seems that HP and Windows 8.1 did not get along! After you connect the laptop to the internet via an ethernet cable, I was able to use the HP Wizard to download the updates. I then rebooted both the laptop AND the router and everything works.

  • Spectrum X 360: Unable to connect to the wifi Café

I can not connect to the wifi of my favorite coffee more. I received my laptop of spectrum x 360 a month ago and was able to connect to the wifi of my coffee for a few weeks without problem. Then a couple of weeks it stopped connecting. It says it is connected, but warns that it has limited connectivity. He also said that she was taking an unusually long time to connect. In all cases, it doesn't have a connection to work, because my browser cannot display web pages. I tried to disconnect/reconnect, turning off wifi / it, reboot/power, but nothing seem to help.

Additional information: I have no problem to connect to my home network using the spectrum of x 360. Also, when I first encountered the problem, I googled and saw that a lot of other spectrum x 360 owner were running into the same problem. So, I installed the latest update of the BIOS and also downloaded/installed a network updated driver. But none of them seem to help. I brought my laptop Mac Pro in the same Café since then, and it connects even before I have the laptop completely open, so it doesn't seem to be a problem with the wifi of the café-restaurant.

I got the spectrum x 360 more precisely so that I can do work at the coffee shop, it is a huge problem for me. Help, please...

    Hi dmorrill,

169.250.107.106 is an automatic private IP address windows will use if it fails to get an IP address from the DHCP server.

-Have you tried to clear your browser cache to see if that's why you can access the page of the router authentication?

    How to clear the Cache

-Also, check if your Windows Internet setting has a configured proxy address.  If you have a single set, note and empty.

How to locate the proxy settings

If still no joy, then could you please find the make/model of router in the coffee shop, and also, what wireless driver version the scepter is running?  Sometimes it can be as simple as the firmware on the router wireless being old and has problems with new wireless solutions.

It seems that the Macbook Pro has a 802. 11 a/b/g Wireless NIC, while the Sceptre has either an 802.11 a/b/g/n or it may also include 802.11ac support.  This is not necessarily a problem, but you try to access the advanced settings of the wireless driver and try to define 802.11n Mode "off" and see what happens.

  • Anyone else having the comment to check that you are no longer connected to the Internet?

When I am connected to internet, wifi and I'm trying to install/upgrade to update version 9.3, entering my access code, the check symbol lights up, and then I get the message: IOS 9.3 cannot continue because you are no longer connected to the Internet... Well, that's b... I am, I was, and I continue to be... How can this be repaired?  I am now the only active amother with wifi, (my Ipad2is wifi) location and I tried it again, in fact the 3rd time and it keeps giving me the same message that I received when I was on my wifi secure my home.  Any help?

I'm having the same problem. I tried it in different places, and I know that I am connected but I still get the message. I tried the update at night last night and it wouldn't work. I am at a loss on how to get this update if he don't recognize that it is on the Internet.
