Laptop not recover

Hi all.

I had a HP HDX16 1100oe Premium computer laptop, purchased with Windows Vista Home Premium. When Windows 7 is released, I have improved through HP upgrade program.

Yesterday, I bought Windows 8 and updated Win7. After the instalation (ontop of Win7 used for a few years), it seems to work fine, but after awhile, the 'apps' would not start when I click on them and a reboot didn't help. So I decided to install Win8 from scratch, started on the Win8 DVD and had it remove everything on C drive.

After installation complete Win8 worked well. I then tried to install missing components from HP that have been installed, when I bought my laptop, but every time I have startede install Win8 crashed. Then, I thought I'd do a recovery install to get the HP components are installed and then move to Win8.

But when I rebooted and you press ESC, then F11 (recovery) Win8 just booted normally and nothing else would happen.

How can I get my laptop to do a restore?

BTW... I have no recovery disks

If this is the case then you stand a chance to be able to use the recovery partition to recover your PC to its factory image State.

You need an active partition.

That can be done from the command line using an ERD in Windows Vista or Windows 7 If you did a.

At the command prompt, type in the command diskpart, and then on enter.

Use the list partition command and the note which is the 13 GB recovery partition.

Now select the partition by typing set partition (use the number of the partition that you have determined to be the recovery partition) and pressing on enter.

Now type assets together.

When the OS again relates that the partition is active, you can exit the Diskpart command by typing exit and return to the command line, type exit to close the command line window.

I found that, since the upgrade to Windows 7, my computer screen often does not recover from the sleep mode. The only way I am able to get it back is to power off, then restart the PC.

Also, this happened once when I was watching live TV in Media Center. I don't know if it's relevant, but I noticed that in Windows 7 Media Center now has a progress bar, probably from the expected time / length according to the guide in Media Center. When the screen off would have been at the end of the regular program.

I read in another forum, not affect auto-hide the taskbar is a temporary work around this problem. I have always used the function hide automatically, but since reading this, have auto hide disabled and so far there has been no recurrence of the problem.

    Hello

Welcome to Microsoft Windows 7 answers Forum!

You can try the following steps and check whether the problem is resolved.

Now, you will need to disable hybrid sleep on your system, then check the issue.

"Turn off Hybrid Sleep mode" follow the steps below.

The first step, open the power setting of the Control Panel options and click on the 'Change plan settings' link below the selected power plan.

In the dialog box, choose "change power avancΘs."  Now you need to scroll to find the mode 'sleep '.  Expand it, and then mode "Allow hybrid sleep" below.  You should see two options, "on battery" and "sector".  Together the two of them on 'Off '.

Once this is done, click "OK" and you should be all set!  Thereafter, each time your computer laptop is normally go to 'Sleep' - usually when the lid is closed, or when it is idle for a while - it will enter full sleep mode, rather than the hybrid sleep.  And when you go to her to wake up from his sleep, he should be fully adapted in a second or two of reactivation - rather than 10-15 seconds after hybrid sleep.

  • Display driver stopped working, does not recover...

    HP Pavilion dv7-6015tx

    Windows 7 32 bit

    ATI Radeon HD 6770 m

    Hello

I thought I had solved this problem before, but it persists today.

A while back my pc would freeze and then recover, with pop - up saying dialogue

"display driver has stopped working and recovered."

Now, it does not recover, it remains just frozen.

This does not happen when I come back to the graphics card Mobile Intel.

It freezes when I use AMD ATI Radeon.

My PC freezes when I lead average graph low load.

(I watch YouTube videos via the media player and internet browsing)

This means that I'm not hardcore gaming, however when I'm hardcore gaming my pc does NOT freeze.

I have the latest software/driver graphic HP provides me with.

I can't install ATI, because everything I download from there, says it's not compatible with my device.

I also think that sometimes my pc is overheating.

I have HP CoolSense set for maximum cooling, however I think that this is not enough. (blue screen of death)

I tried SpeedFan software of third party temperature sensor that automatically adjusts the fan speed.

However, I don't think that the software is compatible with my motherboard because it can read my fan RPM speed.

I think it's the GPU causing overheating because the CPU is 50 degrees celcius at an acceptable (?).

This is a new laptop, so there is no collection of dust or debris in the exhaust gas.

I would like to update my graphics driver, there were no update driver since the: 2011-05-06

Also, I would like a method to increase the speed of the fan, preferably both GPU and CPU

to lower the temperature and components

Even as I write this, now I got force restart the computer because it froze. (driver has stopped working)

I realize that the graphics driver may not be the only problem

or it may be another problem, disguised as a problem of the graphics driver.

I am willing and pledged to use all means, (with the exception of a full recovery of my pc)

to fix my current misadventures with my laptop.

    Kind regards

    John

You must first update the latest version of the BIOS of your laptop.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/WC/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-96635-1&CC=US&DLC=en&LC=en&os=4063&Product=5085756&sw_lang=

Once you update to the latest version of the BIOS download and install the following softpaq and this should solve the problem:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&LC=en&DLC=en&softwareitem=ob-95106-1

    This should solve the problem.

  • Can not recover the Windows 7 desktop after replacing the hard drive

I bought a new HP Pavillion Elite (HPE-240f) in August 2010. A week ago my hard drive has no SMART short self-test during systematic hardware diagnostics. I installed a new hard drive of the same size - 1 TB and could never make it work properly. I tried the following (in that order).

    1. using a system repair disc, I got the system from a previous image (which I did shortly after the purchase, install my own software and configuration of all). It worked, but then I noticed that Windows Update was not working. I ran various Microsoft diagnostic tools and discovered that some (unspecified) system files have been damaged or missing. All the fixes I tried didn't work. I ran hardware diagnostics extended, but no problem not found.

    2. I tried to restore the system to the default settings by using the original image on the D partition. At first it seemed to work, but at the last moment when the system started, I saw a message on the screen that Setup is starting services and then got a warning saying that services failed because of (unspecified) problems with hardware.

    3. I tried to restore the system from the system recovery discs and a message "system recovery disks do not support this computer."

    4. I found this Cyberlink utility on the HP website, dealing with precisely this issue. I created a CD tried and it didn't work.

    5. I found this document on the HP Web site, saying that if you are replacing a hard drive with sectors of 512 bytes with a new advanced Format (AF) drive (with areas of 4 096 bytes) and your system was manufactured before October 2010 (as mine was), you must get the new HP recovery disks. I thought I finally found the root of my problems (since the new drive is indeed AF and the old man is not) and ordered HP recovery discs.

    6. the disks arrived today, and I noticed that the version number of the software (for Windows 7 version) is almost the same as on the computer, except that the last digit is 9 on disks and 6 on the computer - I guess it's an update to deal with the problem hard drive AF. However, I get 'system recovery disks do not support this computer' error, if I use the utility from CyberLink recovery disks or not. To be on the safe side, I even used a new hard disc (new 1 TB) right out of the box (never partioned and installed previously) and connected the original keyboard supplied with the computer (I also unplugged everything except the monitor, keyboard and mouse). However, I get the same message. Just out of curiosity I tried to put back the original hard drive (certainly not in best shape, even if the system always starts with him) and still could not recover the system.

    What else can I try?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

An alternative to try. > If you can read the Microsoft Windows 7 of 25-character license key attached to the Tower, you can download a Windows 7 ISO file to burn to a DVD. The version must match that on the sticker COST Microsoft. for example Home Premium

    Hi windy-54,

-What do you mean when you say "everything on the left side of the screen disappeared and all programs not recover"? Does this mean you "Start" menu is empty?
-What is the exact error that you receive while you are trying to search for programs on the computer?

  • Can not recover my system after a hard disk crash.

    Hello

Hard drive of my hp DV6-3123tx crashed due to a collision

    The steps I did:

    1. Got a new hard drive and put it on.
    2. Via recovery DVD tried to format it.
    3. Everything was good, but when you restart the system to install the drivers it gets stuck only on the first page (on which hp is written). I waited for hours together, but it is not recover from this State

PS: I had deleted CMOS too after my hard drive crashed, but restored and saved its default settings in the BIOS before the steps mentioned above.

Go to the link below and you can order to reinstall HP discs. What they charge is approximately US $15 for shipping and handling.

Well my laptop not showing wifi network if other people see in this regard?

It is possible that particular hotspot-wifi uses a wireless frequency that your computer can't handle.  For example, if you have a card 802.11 wireless g, but the hotspot using 802.11n or ac or another variant.  It could also be a 5 GHz network, but your wireless adapter supports only networks 2 .4GHz.

To really refine the problem, it might be useful to investigate those who you can see, for example.

Hello world... I have an external drive that I had locked with the bitlocker and if she had it for about a year now... and something happened to her, I guess when he was to encrypt the drive there where once it's plugged in it asking to be unlocked and then once unlocked it looks to as 96.2% completed , but has encountered a problem and could not finish the encryption... I was still able to use player for all this time... it looked like not much because after closing this window I could still use this drive with no problems.  Now I just plugged the drive and I typed the password and it gives me an error saying... "bitlocker drive encryption do not recover abruptly ended conversation. This could be due to all the newspapers of conversation being corrupt or media is write-protected. "and now I can't unlock the drive, and it really saddens me because I have a bunch of movies and software and pictures of my family and my children, but also many other things that mean a lot to me and it was my only backup of these elements. • Can not recover my laptop using created recovery disks

My hard drive crashed, I sent it to the warranty. She came back, but I wanted to reinstall.
Before that, I did 4 recovery disks.

Thus, when the laptop turned on DISC 1 was in and I could choose Windows 64, after a while he told me to put in the next disc. I did but no progress. I tried all the disks and none of them worked.

How should I proceed from here?

Unfortunately you can not force the installation of recovery to work. Either it works or not.
Are you using these discs for the first time now?
