You can try and install the updates manually.  I wrote about it some time ago: http://vmwise.com/2011/08/02/updating-esxi-when-update-manager-vihostupdate-esxupdate-all-fail/

  • How do you know what was the latest patch installed on VMware ESX Server 3i, 3.5.0 207095

    Hello guys,.

I've been running an old server that was installed in a test system on workstation DELL - Optiplex GX620 (32 bit).

During installation, I had to confirgure the file: /usr/lib/vmware/installer/Core/TargetFilter.py to change the following line:

"interface returned. GetInterfaceType() == ScsiInterface.SCSI_IFACE_TYPE_IDE' as follows:

"interface returned. GetInterfaceType() == ScsiInterface.SCSI_IFACE_TYPE_ISCSI' this is it worked and I used it for 3 years now. However, right now, I was hoping to be updated with the latest patches and updates and I do not know if I just ESX or ESXi, or what was my last update, and what it takes then.

I used this command to get the following result:

    # vmware - v

    VMware ESX Server 3i 3.5.0 build-207095

... I think that the 3i says I have an ESXi 3.5.0 but build 207095 the buid even as ESXi 3.5.0 patch 5?

If this is not the case, how should I do to update? What is the KB # I should download?

I can manage using vSphere Client 5.5 and I can't SSH using PuTTY.

Note: When I run... "# esxupdate - bundle = ESXe350-201302401-I - SG.zip updated ' of in the folder where his property in the data store, nothing happens... just a new line scrolls.

I have a laptop that I sometimes use, but is not my main computer. I pay for the use of the internet by the GB.

Question: When I do not turn on this laptop, I have several updates. especially security for vista that sometimes require a lot of data useage. What I have to install all the updates more or is the latest patch all previous issues?

    Original title: several updates

    Hello

Monthly updates do not reach the GB amounts; they are a few MBs.

You must install all the updates of priority; the options are to you.

Performance and security updates are very important to keep your camera in a good and safe working order.

SP1 and SP2 released centuries ago have been a highlight of security and Performance updates in time and had to be retained and priority of updates, you receive now are certainly needed.

    FOR INFO:

Microsoft gives sometimes you updates for the 3rd party hardware: graphics, network cards, etc.

You only get the latest drivers for them to real hardware manufacturer's website, as Microsoft does normally or those have the most recent drivers available as Microsoft is based from the 3rd hardware manufacturer left to provide.

    See you soon.

    (c) scroll to the bottom of the list of programs, to see that Windows updates put a check mark in the box next to see the updates.

    (d) you can also see all the updates that are on your computer.

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

If you want, come back and let us know a bit more information on your system - particularly the brand / model of the system, you have - and maybe someone here can guide you to the place s x of law to this end. This isn't 100% necessary - but I'd be willing to bet that you would gain some performance and features in making this part.

  • MP3 player and KB 928439 fails to install - error code 80070005

    Hello

I recently had a problem with Vista Home Premium SP2 suddenly refuse to recognize my Creative Zen MP3 player even if the player is recharged when the unit is installed.

When I plug the Zen to a USB port it says "install the driver software for device" informed me then that "Device driver software has not been installed successfully - MTP device. This is regardless of whether I'm using a USB hub or a USB motherboard.

In Device Manager under portable devices is an MTP device with a yellow exclamation point and tells me "this device cannot start (code 10)". I offer myself to check the solutions with Microsoft. This produces nothing - a result, nor anything else besides!

The research of this forum and the net I found and tried a number of soilutions, but nothing helped. However, there is one thing that I did not try to Fixit. However, this requires Windows PowerShell and when I try to install this it requires KB 928439 and this patch do constantly moved with the error code 80070005.

Any suggestions to solve the problem of origin with the MP3 player or the installation of Windows PowerShell would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

  • 15/10/2014 patches ESXi break Citrix Netscaler VPX Appliance

    The part warning, part question...

My ESXi hosts were v5.5.0 206190 (directly from the 5.5U2 cd - RollupISO2), I applied the following hotfixes:

    subsequently they were 2143827 v5.5.0

Once updated my Citrix Netscaler VPX devices 2 (vmware hardware 8, Citrix Netscaler OS v10.5.52.11nc (latest), FreeBSD 64 bit, E1000 Nic) has stopped responding on the network. They work very well when it is on the old version 5.5U2 but starts to drop packets intermittently and then finally deposited the network during the migration to a host that has the patches listed above. I have 2 mode high availability, this happens even if only one is enabled and the other offshore. It goes back to normal when back to host pre patched vmotioned.

I have tried switching networks, remove and add network, upgrade to 10 hardware cards, removing all together and deploy the latest version of the citrix website, if it fall not all together, he will drop a lot of packages. You can watch the netscaler console display events NŒUD FAIL, NŒUD down and NŒUD up to several times per minute.

    DIFFICULTY (or work around)?

    Hi all

When you work with VMWare Technical support they foud a solution that works for me almost an hour now.

Maybe you guys can 'test' this solution too?

Enter the shell in the NetScaler mode, then:

    (1) find location loader.conf on NetScaler VM #find /-name loader.conf

For the VM NetScaler downloaded, there are 2 loader.conf:./flash/boot/defaults/loader.conf and. / flash/boot/loader.conf, we only need to change one.

    (2) add "hw.em.txd = 512" in loader.conf, this will change the Tx ring size to 512 (Note: do not set the size of the ring to 256, it will cause the NetScaler VM core dump)

    (3) restart the NetScaler VM

    4) migrate to a host with the latest patches

    Good luck...

Edit: still works fine, also with userload in production environment

  • Loss of HDV support after the latest patches to Adobe...

Recently, I applied the latest patches that have been released for AE, organization and a few other applications in the master suite and after that the patches have been applied I lost the abilty to edit HDV in the body and EI.  In the body, it in fact grayed out option to turn off the product, which makes it appear like it has disabled somehow my product, but in AE the deactivate option is always there. I read to you run the trial HDV version is not supported, so I think it somehow disabled my products.  Anyone facing this problem?

    Skeeze:

Your problem may be related to this issue, mentioned in the blog of Todd Kopriva, Region of interest.

If you have downloaded the trial after effects 9.0, and then updated to After Effects 9.0.1 and then activated the application with a serial number after purchasing a license (all in exactly in that order), then the After Effects 9.0.2 update will fail to update your content to third parties, such as the Cycore (CC) effect plug-ins. It seems that uninstalling the third-party content and then restarting the application will cause third party content updated to install correctly.

Please note that the support for HDV, AVCHD and other formarts based on MPEG relies on technology under licensed by third-party, and which are installed as part of the package of third-party content developers. So I would definitely start by trying this.

  • 800 b 0100 updates fail to install

I've had problems with a few updates lately,

    they are:

    KB2387149
    KB2423089
    KB2485376
    KB972270

    and

    KB974431

When I try to download in Windows Update it says "download updates... "for a few seconds. Then he goes to "Installing uppdates...." ».
It seems to install 3 updates, that they finish in 10 seconds approximately and then he says that all 5 have failed.

I also tried to manually download standalone installer of each patch, but these facilities fail as well.

    Thank you

    Step 3:

I suggest that you put your computer in a clean boot State and then install the updates that are mentioned. The issue could be related to a third party software conflict causing the issue to occur. Clean boot helps eliminate conflicts of third party software.

  • 2 UPDATES constantly FAIL to INSTALL: a security update for Microsoft Works 9 (KB2431831) update of security for Microsoft Office System 2007 (KB2288931)

2 UPDATES have consistently failed to install since 12/16/10: update of security for Microsoft Works 9 (KB2431831) and update of security for Microsoft Office System 2007 (KB2288931). I tried to REINSTALL... and CONTINUED on for more than a week now with no result. I don't get the error messages or codes, so I'm not sure what to do! They are considered IMPORTANT so I guess that I need these updates and I TRIED to RESTART after update with NO RESULTS as well. The 2 latest updates only "UPDATED successfully", before the long chain UPDATES failed, which began on 12/16/2010 (as previously mentioned) were: update for Internet Explorer for Windows Vista (KB2467659) and Security Update for Windows Vista (KB2305420) someone knows what do to update failed? Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you. {By the way... I use my computer for use at home or school.} Thank you.

This has been answered above in my first post. I didn't know that I reposted on the same site. Thanks :)
