Leaks

Hi all

I'm trying to demonstrate the concept of the leak and the effect of the use of windowing. I implemented a simple VI which is attached using LabVIEW 2011.

My question is, why does the amplitude of the signal in the frequency domain decrease instead of increase to the maximum frequency when I apply a windowed function.

If I understand correctly, apply a window means that I overcame the leak problem and I should get a magnitude higher (than without the help of a window) to the frequency of peak. I'm wrong?, or this higher amplitudes will be only in the frequencies around the frequency of peak?

Another thing, why if the number of cycles is greater than 2.5, I begin to see the folding occur. If this is related to the aliasing, why did not see this beyond number of cycles 2 (Nyquist Theroem) not 2.5 folding.

I appreciate your help.

Part of the explanation for the reduced amplitude is simple while other parts may be more complicated.

The easy part: after windowing there is less energy in the signal.  The parties near beginning and end of the data segment have reduced the amplitude compared to the signal UN-windowed. Remember that the Fourier transformation is to integrate over infinite time. Essentially, this means that the energy in each slot of average frequency is calculated on the duration of the signal. The tip of both windows and non windows signals amplitudes are ~ 1 but the means are very different.

The most complicated part: the location (exact frequency) energy in a bin and the number of slots occupied by the signal affect the amplitude of the highlight. In the images below, about 50 points are above 40 dB with the window off the coast, only 4 are above 50 dB in the image window.  If you make all the energy of the signal, it is here.

The folding you see is due to fractional cycles when you concatenate the berries. For any value of cycles that is not an integer multiple of 0.5, you will see strange waveforms at the exit of the box of the window structure.  When you have an odd number of alternations, you get the appearance of a phase inversion.  I really don't understand what you're trying to do with half top of your schema.

  • Since the upgrade to Sierra MediaLibraryService is causing a memory leak

    Hello.

I upgraded to Sierra, since as soon as Itunes is launched, the com.apple.medialibraryservice is originally a large memory leak, it keeps in ram more until she takes all (16 GB) and significantly slows down the computer.

I tried to reset the nvram and smc memory, doesn't change anything.

Does anyone have an idea on what is causing this leak and is there a solution?

Yes, I noticed this also. After that I opened iTunes, it's just a matter of time before all the memory gets used up and all departure is wobbly. In particular, bluetooth really gets bug after a certain time, and as soon as I quit iTunes, that's fine.

There seems to be a MAJOR problem (blocking/memory leak) in "subject: House", also known as start up Firefox, 26.0 Firefox Page, Windows!

    seen on:
-Windows 7 x 64 machine with 12 GB of RAM and high performance CPU (core i7-920)
-Comments Machine virtual WinXP SP3 (in Oracle VirtualBox) running on the same computer
-Intel Atom D525 netbook with 4 GB of RAM, running Win7 x 64

None of these machines are connected through Sync or something like that. The Firefox instance on the virtual machine is a fresh install / clean.

    The problem:
-100% of cpu usage for 10 seconds, (util in XP) memory usage goes up to 1.7 GB
-If "subject: House" is actually the Firefox Start Page, it blocks the computer at startup of Firefox for 10 seconds
-If "subject: House" isn't the Firefox Start Page, startup is fine - BUT if I press the "home" on the toolbar button it loads "on: House" which causes the same question once again

Sounds that there is a problem with one of the code snippets that are responsible. I've seen several reports on this issue.

    Assuming that Firefox is closed:

Hold down the SHIFT key when you start Firefox. You should get a small dialog box. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not reset).

  • Firefox memory leak <! DIFFICULTY! >

    Hello fellow Firefox users!

For most of us, Firefox suffers from a memory leak crazy, this can cause slowdown and perhaps even crashes. This happens mainly because when you close the tabs, the RAM, they took is always taxing your computer. Among other things cause this annoying leakage.

  • When firefox crashes of a memory leak, why you can not display the offending tab? Improvement: a task manager as Manager of the display use by tab tab / extension.

I generally keep windows with multiple tabs open. It is possible that this causes more accidents because the number of pages multiplies any effect that the majority of users with less pages/tabs would suffer. I had problems with Firefox blocks Manager Windows that I looked into this question a lot of variables to track tasks to help. Bottom line, the accident is caused by increasing the memory usage may be caused by the flash add on which fact much IO reads at least a page/tab incriminated could some sites use flash to read my disc without permission, and there is a leak memory in a flash of code uses the sites? I searched the Web for a task manager as add-on for Firefox tabs that would determine the offending page/tab/add-on/extension. This seems an excellent idea which has not been implemented. Since I am a developer, I would be happy to implement, but would like some advice because my knowledge of your product is only at the level of the user.

There are currently: page of memory that is actively developed. A "task manager" of all kinds is also in the works as far as I KNOW. If you want to help, your best bet is to find the bug there is Bugzilla. If you have the skills coding I can help you in touch with a mentor - let me know.

Memory leaks are a common error in programming.
leak memory occurs when a computer program consumes memory, but is unable to release it in the operating system.

In your case, it would be necessary to know what application or process that runs in the background do
This can be very long process you would need to install a system of fees will need to check the memory leak after each installation of driver or another application

    Hello Keith,

I just finsihed a repair of my Officejet Pro 8500

At first, I did not see also all the tubes have been pinched as suggested by Ciara, however, the black and magenta tubes were damaged near/behind the sled print head. I think that they have abandoned their guides and am stuck on several occasions by the sled.

To fix it, I used pieces of wire insulation I pasted above the damaged area. I have documented the repair with images and some instructions, but unfortunately, I can not attach the file here. If you do not empty your printer, you can have a go... don't take too long. Send me an email and I will send you the PDF document.

Here is a picture of the repaired area:

  • RAM leak (excessive use)

    Hello

I got my 500-281 0n Pavilion 29/04/14 (4 GB of RAM).  He starts using 1.40 GB of RAM, about 2.50 half an hour later. almost 4 GB 4 hours later.  It is the only race of IE.  I ran CCleaner, Adware, SuperAntiSpyware, Microsoft Security Essentials, cleaning Windows and Windows Defender in offline mode - all clean.  I reduced msconfig/startup to 2 elements.  I installed a former print shop and an older MS Works Suite, but they do not run.  I also installed my (HP w2207) screen, it works fine, but cannot install Windows 7 drivers.  What can I try?  Thank you.

    Hello

    Open RUN and type: MSCONFIG

Now, go to the Services TAB and check hide all Microsoft Services. Now, uncheck all other boxes for other services.  Save the changes and now reboot and monitor.  If the leak memory goes away, then you have one Windows service that is causing the problem.   If you cannot determine what services non-windows is the origin of the problem, then you can activate certain services, save and restart and monitor.  You can also check the memory usage in the Task Manager and see if you can determine which service non-Windows is the origin of the problem.

There's a chance if not Windows services are not the problem then you may have a defective hardware driver and then you would need to start reviewing your updates to the driver.  I would like to start will update the video drivers.  In really bad situations and to save time, you may need to recharge the system using the external HP recovery media.
