  • Lenovo Care button + F11 doesn't work do not

    Hello.

I have a 3000 N200 that I just replaced the HARD drive on.  I've used Norton Ghost to clone the old drive to the new, and there are a few problems to get XP to start later.  I found a few tips elsewhere that said I have to operate the system upward with an XP installation disc and Run fixmbr in the recovery console, which did not work because the XP installation couldn't find any HARD drive - although it is properly parsed by the BIOS.  Then I tried to boot from a W98 boot disk and running fdisk/mbr. He finds the HARD drive, but still no joy.  Then I used W98 fdisk to look at the drive and discovered that the service partition showed that the partition is active then I used fdisk to set the XP partition active.  Who has worked; I can boot XP now without problem.  However, if I press the Lenovo Care button, I get the option but screen by selecting F11 does not the system go into recovery mode.  After a few seconds it starts right in XP.  I was wondering if the W98 fdisk/mbr crushed something specific Lenovo in the mbr, which is the cause to happen and if there is a way to get the service back 'just in case '.

    TIA

There are two options on the diskette; one, I think, he said "try this first" and the other will recognize the mbr as non-Lenovo mbr. Have you tried the first option first, then the second option?

Otherwise, I don't know, maybe it's that the ghosts didn't give something correctly? Did you use the switch of the ib in Ghost?

If you search the forum for "ib switch" (with ""), you should find plenty of information relevant If it's a review.

  • Lenovo Care

My 3000 N200 laptop was recently hit by a bad virus. I had removed it, but the software Lenovo Care has become corrupted. Now, when I click on any subject of Lenovo Care (such as my system update) I get an error message: "the application could not initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click OK to close the application. "This computer is a little more than a year and is no longer under warranty. Where and how can I download new software from Lenovo Care?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can receive assistance or advice.

I have a Lenovo T440s but the three buttons above the clickpad do not work. However if I uninstall the synaptics driver, the mouse buttons work but then click on will not, a little. Only from tap to click on works, without scrolling with two fingers.

If I install the driver synpatics the mouse buttons do not work, and I get full multi geasture support for the clickpad.

Technical support Lenovo wants me to ship the PC.

Someone else has a different solution. Even in the settings of the mouse pad, mouse buttons do not show.

    Thank you

Dragon that I fixed it. In case anyone has this problem, I installed the driver of ultranav for the T430 instead of the one provided for in T440s. Now, the software records the mouse buttons and I can use the gestures of multi clickpad.

  • LENOVO N500 of 300 + BIOS UPDATE = blue screen loop

My problem is with my LENOVO 3000 N500; that I was updating today (09/29) on the LENOVO web site. I had been looking for updates required and recommended; the update was for the BIOS. Before installing, I knew that the unit would be shut down/re-start. When I restarted; the first screen that opened has the white screen, with the words of LENOVO, which, in my experience, allows the user to proceed or move in the ThinkVantage mode or rescue & recovery. The next thing that seemed was menu when I choose "Normal startup" or "Safe mode", but all options gives me to the next screen which is a blue box with an error (it lasts for one second or less) and then laptop is restarting again. The Lenovo care button does not work, also when I tried to boot my laptop from XP CD, he also failed. Could you please help me with this? What should I do now?

    Nevermind

Before I installed Win XP I changed option SATA in the BIOS from AHCI to IDE, so after flashing new BIOS this setting was still RESPONSIBLE, so Win XP wouldn't start.

Also, I could not the BIOS settings using the Lenovo care button, but one of the f... help.

  • Lenovo 3000 N200 - cannot access Rescue and Recovery - MBR poss problem?

I have a Lenovo 3000 N200 sick who was running XP home. I could not start XP and can only access the Rescue and Recovery utility in the Lenovo recovery Partition that would be to rebuild the hard drive to factory settings IE. Windows XP with no data. I managed to copy the data using a Paragon backup cd and then made the fatal mistake of attempting a repair MBR, which was a very tempting option on the Paragon rescue cd. Now, not only it does not boot to XP, but I can run is even more Rescue and Recovery to reinstall XP which is the problem!

If I boot with windows install disc and take the option recovery console it stops, statement that "recovery console could not find the hard drives connected to your computer. Setup cannot continue. "

I was wondering if someone another backup MBR restore could help me with this?

So, if someone has a Lenovo 3000 N200 work and is willing to try to save the MBR to send it to me, then please get in touch. It is probably useful to make a backup for yourself where the same problems happen to you!  In my view, there are a bunch of programs that backup the MBR for example MBRtool, MBRWizard and so on.

Any ideas, offer accepted with gratitude.

Yes I know I could buy the Lenovo recovery disk, but it is a matter of principle for me avoid paying £50 or so if I can avoid it! We'll see if we can help here...

    Thank you

    Simonides

    I am pleased Andyp!

The solution was to set the primary partition to inactive and value the recovery partition Active, then restart and use the Lenovo Care button (now finally works) to access the function of recovery so I could return the laptop to factory State.

No doubt there are plenty of ways to do it, but the approach I took to solve this problem is released under

    1. use another PC to download Paragon backup and restore (I actually used the trial edition now but the free edition may have a similar feature)

2nd burn a CD bootable backup and recovery 10.0.

    3. start the CD Lenovo, and after a long wait, a menu should appear with 11 options, the first of them being Paragon backup and restore.

    4. Select Paragon backup and restore.

5 select properties in the pick a task window and you will see two partitions, a big enough (in my case Go 143, called Preload) and the other is quite small (6 GB called SERVICEV001).

Note: this is an opportunity brilliant to use the Back Up Partition option to make a backup on external drive USB of the two partitions as the reconstruction of the hard drive with Lenovo Care button you will lose all data.

6 right-click the partition preloads and select Edit and set idle

    7. made the SERVICEV001 partition right click and select Edit and set the Active

8 remove the backup and recovery of CD and put it somewhere safe

    9. restart the PC and Lenovo Care button (might be called something different) should now work, allowing you to restore the hard drive to factory settings which will erase all data of a personal nature. You did a backup?

10 Windows should then start as usual, reinstall Paragon backup and restore, and restore your data.

Finally, look at this as a lesson to

    (a) you get a writable DVD and use the Lenovo menu under windows to create a floppy disk from Lenovo rescue and recovery started.

    (b) use Paragon or equivalent to create copies of images of each partition and ordinary differential copies of the primary partition.

I hope this will help other owners who have a hidden rescue for example partition. IBM and HP and would like to receive feedback.

Finally, I must acknowledge assistance patient e-mail provided by Taisia Smirnova Paragon support by offering me this solution.

    best, Simonides

  • Clean WIndows XP install

    Hello world!

I now have a working windows xp sp3 with a product key I bought running. I want to perform a clean installation of windows xp that came with my computer - with the product key that is located on a sticker at the back of my laptop (my laptop has failed with an OEM win xp CD).

I understand there is an option for this through the lenovo care button when I start my computer, I have tried, I chose - hardware diagnosis and recovery - but it only that back to my old windows xp and nothing else.

It aims to install my windows purchased at a desktop computer... and on my laptop using windows with the key to the East came with the computer.

Thanks guys, I mangaged. The solution is: installation on my old windows Lenovo Rescue & Recovery and then start pressing the lenovo care butten - there is an option to format the hard drive and install windows level 'Factory' - that's what I needed.

I know that I can download most of the futures of pages web lenovo. What gives me headaches is the shortcuts keyboard. For example, the volume control on the left side of my keyboard (under the blue lenovo care button) doesn't work same with shortcut to adjust brightness etc...
