Lenovo RR backup confusion

Hello

I just used the rescue of Lenovo and recovery to back up my hard drive.  I don't know if I chose the wrong option by mistake, but I expect to make a backup on cd a few but what he did was to make a cd which he says such "Lenovo Rescue and Recovery boot disk" and then took time to create an image of my hard drive that I can see is recorded in 'Local' and 17 122 MB when I discover all backups.  My question is 1) why didn't it backup my hard drive a few CD 2) 2) quel what is the purpose of the startup disk and 3) I can locate and burn the iso image to a disc, and it is a good backup?  Thank you!

I have the version 4.5 as well.  In the initial display panel, click advanced Rescue and Recovery, in the bottom left of the screen to launch. The backup of your hard drive selection will be an optiion backup on cd/dvd.

There is a bug in version 4.5.  When I saved on a cd/dvd, the screen said he was backing for my 2nd HARD drive.  The actual backup went on a cd/dvd. My normal backups go my 2nd HARD drive.

    Hello world
This is a confusion on hot-backup Oracle.

Suppose I have 3 online Redo Logs and I put a tablespace in backup Mode.
So, whatever changes are made, Oracle will begin to generate redo for the entire block to avoid the fractured blocks.

My Question is if, while doing this all my online Redo Logs files/members of Wat is full how do then Oracle manage to move forward and continue to save Transactions/changes to a Certain block in the Tablespace.

1 > oracle runs a recovery from the archived Redo Logs once the Tablespace out of backup Mode.
2 > or y at - it a fitness State/Re-sizing of the redo log file online space between other Segments.

    Thank you and best regards,
    Jean-Jacques Mukherjee.

    >
I'm even not sure what #2 means! Anways.

Suppose I have 3 online Redo Logs and I put a tablespace in backup Mode.

No matter how many redo log groups you have and as I know it has no relationship to a tablespace in backup mode either.

So, whatever changes are made, Oracle will begin to generate redo for the entire block to avoid the fractured blocks.

Partially correct! The entire block is copied only for the first time . For subsequent changes, only agents of change go in the stamp newspaper, and from there, the redo log files. This is exactly what happens to a tablespace is not not in backup mode.

My Question is if, while doing this all my online Redo Logs files/members of Wat is full how do then Oracle manage to move forward and continue to save Transactions/changes to a Certain block in the Tablespace.

Does that mean exactly? If you complete the redo logs, switch journal will follow making the LGWR move from the current group of redo log to another, triggering the control point, which would make the DBWR write buffers in the data file. I don't know what is confusing?

Edit: I apologize, I read this point a little too fast! If all the log files will be filled, database could be suspended. There will be transactions more because there is no place to write their vectors of change anywhere. Sorry, I realized in the first time you were talking about switching to the standard newspaper.

1 > oracle runs a recovery of archived newspapers again once the data file is underwritten in backup Mode.

What recovery? Before files go in the backup, there is a 'global' checkpoint which is executed for them, pushing them all buffers in the cache for them and then once the point control freezed for them, still let all read/write operations. Once they come on the backup mode, when the next time a checkpoint is made, then their number is synchronized with the rest of the database. Where the recovery comes into the picture here?

2 > or y at - it a fitness State/Re-sizing of the redo log file online space between other Segments.

As I said before, I didn't at all mean that point yet?

that is: plug your phone / connect to the WiFi / lock screen

Is this all just press the button on top (5 / 5s) or side (6 / 6s) until the screen goes black OR completely disable the phone?

  • Looking to buy a Lenovo IdeaPad S12 (29595GU)

Hello.  I am looking to buy a netbook, and from what I can tell the Lenovo S12 is the best with his 12 inch screen, QS OS, nVidia ION, HDMI output, 3 GB of RAM and 320 HARD drive.  The only problem I have is that it is just expensive for me right now.  Is there anyway that he will drop in price after Christmas, or when the ION2 comes out?

Also, I have a few questions:

-How to use the button 'recovery' on the keyboard?  The system already has back up when shipped and simply press the button, or you have to make your own?

-If I had to go with the cheaper version with 2 GB of RAM and 250 GB of HARD drive, and later, I wanted to move to 3 GB of RAM then I should buy another 1 GB or 2 GB key?

    -What software comes pre-installed?

    Hello and welcome,
last question at first... not heard talking about overheating seems to be cool...

.. No HDMI output no video input...

colors other than black?  NA not know what is provided by Lenovo...

pre installed, I think that like most of the other S-series
MS Office Trial, Adobe Suite trial, Norton...

    Correct me if iam wrong...

    Backup solution?  HARD drive based...

I prefer this Solution to backup ...

    Memory?

comes with 1 GB (non-removable) soldered on board more 1 GB removable memory = 2 GB
upgrade to 3GB mem, easy... Open the lower cover, remove 1 GB...
    Insert S0-Dimm 2 GB = 3 GB memory

  • Sync, Iomega EZ media and backup Center Center.

    Hello

I hope someone could advise me if Sync Center (Windows 7 64-bit), will work with an Iomega multimedia, EZ (1 TB) and backup center.

Iomega multimedia, EZ (1 TB) and the backup center, appears on "My computer/network locations", with all the different readers (for example. Documents (\\IomegaEz) (t) and the music, movies, photos, backups and media shared, but does not appear in "Sync Center".

I would really appreciate any help and advice to achieve this, I had the "Iomega, Quick-Protect" how works, but he lost, due to the change to Windows 7.

I'm afraid that my computer skills are very poor, so please be gentle with the speeches of tech :)).

    Yours Sincerely,

  • Rescue and recovery under 64 bit creates a 32-bit Windows 7, why?

Hello. I have an x 201 with W7 Pro (64-bit) OEM Lenovo. I replaced the hard so I use Rescue and Recovery to have a clean install of W7 and the X 201 good pilots.

What I did to run enhanced backup and restore and then via Advanced Rescue and Recovery, I launched the option "create rescue media. I followed the instructions and created a rescue media USB that as far as I understand leaves my X 201 as it was when it left the factory.

I booted from the USB without problems, restore the system and to my surprise it installed Windows 7 but 32-bit 64-bit not. And no drivers (no video, no network, no USB/PCI). I'm lost here. Why is installed 32-bit when all items generated under Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) and what about drivers? Why it has not installed drivers?

Looking at Enchaced backup and restore in my original installation icon, he says "Lenovo Enchanced backup and restore (32-bit)", so I don't know if that creates only the 32 bit instead of 64-bit OS.

I'll now factory recovery disc option allows to see if that solved the problem.

At this point, I thought that icon factory recovery disc was the same as the use of "create rescue media", because the two pretend to leave the hard drive in the same way, it was when the laptop has left the factory.

If someone could clarify the difference between the two: 'factory recovery disk'vs'create rescue media', and also why the last of them creates a 32-bit OS rather than the 64-bit what it was supposed to create

I will report how it goes with the task of recovery factory disc that I use now.

    Hello

Quite interresting situaiton and to be honest not usual.

However, what should happen, once you have created a rescue media, it's that you should have on the end, a single bootable media, using which you can save, etc.

However, this support of rescue should not contain any OS, it should be only a boneless bootable media. The operating system and the rest should be on a separate stand.

In the case where you had the original x 64 Bit OS, then using the recovery CD (as you confirmed as) should have restored the system to the State, as you received it.

I don't understand, why it needs to change the version of the OS to another, when you initially x64Bit.
Maybe some background info would be useful.

    See you soon

  • OneKey onekey lack of space, how to resize?

    Hello

Already, I read several post, but does with a solution.

Just get a Lenovo G50 - 70A with windows 8.1. First thing to do was to make all updates (more than 1, 3 GB). After that I got all the updates, decide to make a make a backup with Onekey, so that I could restore with the new updates, in case of problems.

The laptop has 2 drivers (visible), "c:\". "with windows 8 and"d:\ ". "with Lenovo Onekey.

When I tried, the Onekey, he says that I need 29, 50 GB for backup and only 22, 50 GB (to a 25 GB disc).

    1. How do I resize the disk with OneKey, for to have my backup and have still Onekey working (for what I read, if the player OneKey is resize, OneKey will not work!) I can't believe it's true, do not in any sense.

    2. can I I resize my driver with the SB, without affecting the OneKey? I usually 1 disc with so and another disc with my personal data. Is I need to collect, format, the SO, I won't lose my data.

Thanks for the help and we hope this topic helps others too.

    Hello

My problem is solved. And I'm going to say what I did, and what was the result.

My laptop is the G50-70 has

    OneKey Version 8.0.0.2105

The windows show only 2 drivers for the SO and Lenovo D: backup C:. However there are other partition but are hidden from Society.

After all the updates of windows, I begin the OneKey to perform a new backup. The drive for backup D: have a space of 25 GB, when I tried to make the backup here, it says that I don't have enough space (see my message of previews). So I made a backup to an external driver. When the backup finishes, the backup folder have only about 16 GB! So to copy the folder to the backup driver (D.)

For security reasons, I also did a recovery USB disk as indicated by Solid_Cruver

Here is the tutorial how to make a recovery USB disk

After that, I shrink the driver for 375 GB C: and creat a new driver F: with the new space.

Then start Lenovo and select the recovery option. The letters for the spectacle of drivers are a little different, D: E: drive. (not due to make it smaller and pilots, but system restore see differently). I selected the folder I copied on the D: drive (on the recovery system is E with my new backup.)

The ER was back without any problem.

I did this twice! And it worked.

Note: I have never start OneKey before I made any changes.

So, after all this, I have:

-My backup on Lenovo driver for backups

-A USB key with a recovery system (not tested)

-A new driver for my personal data

    -The driver of SO shrink

    I hope it helps someone.

  • My Z370 sometimes stops when I open the games, do I need to activate the warranty service?

Hello, my Z370 10months and I think that its overheating in recent months, when I open some games he stop, but it is not all the time, do I activate warranty?

The Brazilian site of Lenovo is horrible, confusing and its not completely translated, there is no chat support, and I have to speak in English in the forum for support.

I'm afraid to send the laptop to the warranty and get it worse because of this image of the site that I have.

  • S12 VIA upgrades

    Hello.

I have a S12 (VIA Chipset), and I was wondering about some possible improvements to it.  I'm squeezing every last bit of power and performance of this machine.  Not so much to make it powerful, but it is fast/quick.  Want some advice on if that is possible.

1 Bluetooth.  I know the S10 could easily have a bluetooth module is installed and I was wondering if it was the same way for the S12.

2 RAM.  I have maxed out my RAM (3 GB) but was wondering about the RAM soldered on the motherboard.  I know it's running at 667 mhz, which slows down my stick of 2 GB at that speed (it's at 800 mhz).  Could I send the computer in to Lenovo and ask them to replace this welded to the stick with one that works at 800 mhz?

3 turbo Memory.  I read that there is an empty Mini PCIe connector on the motherboard.  A "stick" of memory Intel Turbo would be correctly installed in this slot machine?  Or the chipset VIA prevents this.

    4. HARD DRIVE.  I have considered upgrading to an SSD, but I soon will dual-boot windows 7 Ultimate edition and Windows XP, and the SSD with a capacity large enough for this is too expensive at the moment.  Disc standard HARD of the S12 is 5400 RPM (I think), but a disk hard 7200 RPM would help a lot?  I doNOT want to sacrifice battery life for this particular uprgare however, so if 7200 RPM drives suck too much juice, then what is a better solution.

    5. all possible means to speed up the graphics would be nice, I however can't think at all.

6 would be dual bootin windows 7 and XP slow down my performance?  I would not think so experience, but have never delt with windows 7.

If anyone has good advice please share it.

Hi try to answer some of your quests...

1 BT it is not manual to explore the S12... but a good help is to know how to get inside... Update disk HARD S12

but remember... .you permanently losing your warranty...

    2. it is mission impossible memory soldered on board... welded .the... not socket based...

    3. a location minicpi-free express... ok... whose know if it works... but even when you have 3 GB of memory...

Turbo memory only works for Vista... and it's a waste of money... anything goes speeds up...

    4. 7200 RPM HARD drive will be transfer only the data faster... don't eat higher consumption of the battery in 5-10 minutes all... so no fear on this subject... losing against SSD, but they cost 10 to 20 times by Go more... 160 GB SSD costs equal the entire S12... bad ratio... could be better next year, but did not have a sphere of magical glass

    5. no graphics acceleration...

6 depends on driver Windows 7 for your Via the machine...

not really easy to compare XP with W7 but much more efficient than Vista...

hope that makes something more clear...

    cordially KalvinKlein

  • Series cannot read on laptop sticker to activate Windows 7

I can't activate Windows 7 because I can't read my code serial number on my cell phone /activation.  I bought this laptop directly from Lenovo and I was the sole owner of it. The code is authentic, just can not read more.

I had to reinstall windows 7 with lenovo disk backup provided and now I can't activate windows.

Is it possible that Microsoft or Lenovo can retrieve this series?

If you use the floppy recovery Lenovo that you shouldn't have to enter a key. The manufacturer disks set includes the embedded in the files issued specifically to Lenovo license key. If the installation routine asks for a key then it is not the game of the good disk. Manufacturer of charges are previously authenticated using privileged license and do not require activation of the line.

Microsoft have not save which COA license is issued to each computer, they are provided to the manufacturer as a block and they apply to the label. In theory, Lenovo should be able to match key that was issued to this serial number, but in practice, few manufacturers will provide the information
