  • DLL missing in Windows 7

    Hey people,

Fairly new to Thinapp here and run into a problem.  I am packaging some applications on Windows XP and try them in Windows 7.  When I go to run in Windows 7, I get the error that some .dll files are missing.  Up to now what is happening with applications I've tried, so it's probably something I am doing wrong in the packaging process.  Can anyone shed light on what might be going on?  I enclose a screen of the error and my package.ini file.

    Thank you!

Understand the problem. The error was due to the the MSVBVM50.dll missing on Win 7. This dll is present on XP and not on Win 7 by default.

Everything I've done is to copy the DLL in XP and paste it in the folder % SystemSystem in the ThinApp and rebuilt the project by running the build.bat file.

Please try the same thing. If does not, I can dropbox package of work I.

  • tbssvc.dll missing after Windows Update

    Hello

Everyone has noticed that the tbssvc.dll file is deleted after execution of the April "convenience update" of Microsoft?  I have a Windows 7 SP1 x 64 iso and if I run the update of convenience or 200 updates + Windows updates, this file disappears and I have no service TPM Base Services.  Tbs.dll file is there, but has a date of 2016 instead of 2009.

I tried to copy it over from another machine, replace the necessary registry keys for the service and that brings back the service but breaks the Bitlocker feature.  Someone knows how to restore this file, service and have still Bitlocker works or know what Windows Update is causing the file to be deleted?

We found the offending update. Delete KB3133977 restores the TBS service. KB information, it looks like that this update replaces most of the TPM platform. The only missing is visibly tbssvc.dll. I wonder if it is a flaw in the update iteself. The update is listed as important (recommended) and is supposed to instability address in the application of Bitlocker. Not much choice here: instability or a complete failure. Can Microsoft fix this?

  • Appmgmts.dll missing in Windows XP Home Edition (Service Pack 3)

My Task Manager runs a svchost (one of the many normal) who tries to pull the high appmgmts.dll (lacking). There is supposedly a hotfix, but when you click on the download link, Microsoft Support said that this fix is not available at this time. Should I worry about getting this dll, or just assume that Microsoft will address this in future updates if she will make XP Home Edition (SP3) better performance?

Sorry, I have XP pro and did not know he was not in XP home. Strange in this case you would have got the error message.

You can download the file from

It is not quite the last version (SP3 has v. 5.1.2600.5512, but this should not matter too much.

However I do not know if you have also other files related to it.
I addedP: there may be a spare in C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache also.

I looked in all 3 locations on my computer (so a file search in Windows Explorer) and the file is not there. My family Windows XP Edition installation disc has been "pre SP3", then would not contain the file... It is my understanding that XP Professional has this file, but not XP Home Edition (and may not need)... JRosenfeld, thank you very much for taking the time to answer!
