  We recently bought 4 x LIC-VVCS-E-M-PAK and 4 x LIC-VVCS-C-M-PAK so that we can migrate all our calls licenses from VCS HW devices to virtual machines, but when I go to buy one of the PAKs I got for the VCS - C, is that display the following information available:

  		LIC-VCS-GW	1

  Shouldn't it allows me to enter the serial number of a device from HW to migrate, then give me licenses relevant call too?  Has anyone else had experience migration licenses HW to VM that might help us with that?

  Please mention the discussion below, you will need to send a certain group with Cisco to process the query to rehost the option unit to the virtual computer buttons.  I am sad to say that it is not no matter how automatic background process that does this when you buy a migration for any product, it is all the manuals and done by the client most of the time.

  Yes once migrated the vCenter A DB will have the details of the

  11 guests and 200 VM.

  After disconnection and removal of guests, you can ignore the previous vCenter servers and their DB. Yes they will be not required (i.e. B and C)

  As you create all the clusters to a vCenter, the inventory will be present in his PB.

  But I suggest you go with a standard SQL server express only because SQL express has its limits on the number or the hosts and VMS, it may contain.

  Or the best thing would be to deploy a vCenter server appliance. The 5.5 version wil support up to 300 guests and the VM with its DB 3000 integrated.

  Like many, I plan my ESX 3.5 to ESXi 4.1 upgrade.  I'll probably have lots of questions until I'm ready to move forward.  This is my first, which seems to be a simple 1 but I just want to confirm.

  So until I am able to blow ESX 3.5 and install ESXi 4.1 on my hosts, I will need manage guests 3.5 4.1 vCenter Server.

  Currently my Virtual Center Server 2.5U6 is also my license server.  VSphere upgrade guide, I need to install the license server on a new machine and manually migrate the old server to the new license file.

  Not a big deal, but I was wondering:

  If I could just leave the license on the old server, Virtual Center 2.5 Server (with all other services VMware has is stopped and disabled) and point the new vCenter Server for that?

  or

  If it is preferable to install the 3.5 license server on the new vCenter Server, point to itself until I have all of my set hosts to level and can remove the installed 3.5 Server licenses and update licenses then?

  You can go both ways. I usually prefer the first to avoid the installation of the old license on the new vCenter Server Server server, but is not really a big difference. Simply enter the location of the 'old' license server in the new vCenter Server 4 (for example [email protected]) license tab. That's all.

  I wonder if this does not work because these steps are for OS 10.7 and I'm on 10.8. I went to this link python.org, but I'm way over my head at this point. Anyone know of an easier way to get this problem resolved? It's a shame, it's not easier. Any help (especially clear instructions, simple, fool-proof) is welcome.

• Questions after Vista-> Win7 migration

  3 fingerprint Reader does not turn on when I boot. I have fingerprints registered, but do not receive the option after booting. How can I activate it?

  4. the windows Boot Manager appears whenever I start. Can I disable it?

  The Base system device seems to be the card reader, I installed it and problem #1 disappeared.

• Licensing noob question

  I have a server with 2 processors with an Essentials kit license with 4 virtual servers on this subject.  I do not much that is delicate, once these virtual servers are set up.   I don't have a SEM, just a raid array that I accidentally subdivided for each server in windows. 

  I have another server with 4 processors which is inactive.  At the end of the day, I migrate VMs from the old to the new, and I see some posts suggesting veeam for this.  Can I buy an another kits essentials (2 cpus ea, $500 + exg v5 license or maybe 2 kits over $ 1000?) to hold an appropriate license and migrate to this server?    Or do I have 4 standard licenses (one for each UC, $4000).  

  Just as quickly, I not drop an extra $3 K for this.  I'll probably try HyperV at this time, since it's free.

  Unfortunately the Kits Essentials only supports up to 3 guests with a maximum of 2 physical processors. With more than 2 Sockets you must go with the Standard licenses or superiors.

  There is a problem of performance known with 4.7.1 do not know if this applies to your customer well.
