  You can mix standard switches and distributed, that's what we call hybrid architecture... but to be able to migrate virtual machines between virtual switches, you must the vSphere 6 and again there are some limitations, like not be able to migrate from VDS vs.

  It sounds as if your user profile is damaged.

  To confirm, perform the following steps:

  1. Create a file of any type and save it in "My Documents" of the account, which seems to have lost everything.
  2. Search for the document.
  3. When it is found, right click and choose Properties.
  4. Click the general tab and view the information next to the 'location '.  It will be C:\Documents and utilisateur\Mes Documents Settings\nom
  5. Make a note of the user name
  6. Now search for a document that you know existed.  Get location and to compare the value of username to this file that you just created.

  Did you find the old file?  Was the location your former username user name and the user name for the new file a variant of that?

  Also, please answer the next 2 questions, in the event where the article below does not help:

  1. You use a profile (user name) that you created or that you use the built-in account named "Administrator"?
  2. Also, what version of Windows XP you are using, including service pack?

  I have a Windows 7 VM built and installed the IntelliPoint software.  The VM sees the software and allows me to set the options, but they do not work.  The mouse is wireless.  The virtual machine has no see the IP software with v8, except tell me to install an earlier version.

  I have re-installed VM Tools, but that did not help.

  What you see, it is normal and expected.  The virtual machine is always presented with a wired mouse PS/2 button with scroll wheel vertical two.  The Intellipoint software would not detect any "peculiarities" of the mouse, so, no options.  IIRC, on some of my Microsoft mouse & trackballs which were PS/2 USB combo &, while it is plugged in the mouse PS/2 port, I had no access to all the 'extra' features of the mouse.  The only way to get all the features of the mouse in the virtual machine is directly join the virtual computer by either USB or Bluetooth mouse.  But of course, doing so "unplug" the host mouse so you need another mouse for the host.

  You CAN definitely, people come here with two cheap servers who regularly ask. However, I can't imagine how a person got the budget for a bladecenter, an Equallogic SAN and could not afford a second switch. The price should be almost imperceptible in comparison to what you already have. Surely when this whole environment goes down because only Dell switch encounters a problem, someone will ask why they bought all these redundant features?

  PowerConnect isn't exactly the high-end switches.

  Are you sure that datacenter1 cannot communicate with datacenter2 on the network?  What datacenter is the vCenter Server?

  Your options:

  1. turn off power the virtual computer and perform a migration of cold in all of your data center.

  2. power off the virtual computer.

  -Use the database browser to download the VM folder and store files on the vCenter server.

  -Using the browser from data store to download the folder and files in a data store in the second datacenter.

  3. you can use a tool third 3rd as Veeam FastSCP or WinSCP to copy the files and folder VM to a data store in datacenter1 in a data store in datacenter2.

  4. you could also use VMware converter to V2V the virtual machine then it turn off and remove from the source data center.

  If you provide more details or have any questions, I will be able to go further in these options.

  I recently inherited a small environment and I was asked to upgrade ESX 3.5 to ESX 4.0. I'm not a person from the database, but how can I check what database is used by VMware Virtual Center? According to the guide to upgrade the MSDE database is not supported in ESX 4.0.

  MSDE does not remote databases.  ODBC Open, click System DSN, click Configure.  The listed database is that it uses, and if that is the name used for virtual center, this is the database in use.

• Cluster license SRM only 1 in a data center

  I am using proc license at the moment and in vCenter by I have a data center with 2 groups. One of the clusters is protected with SRM and the other has no protected VMs.

  However, I can't license SRM as it tries to concede the two groups (both are listed as computing resources in the SRM inventory) and tell me I have insufficient licenses. I've only licenses for Cluster 1, as it is the only one with protected VM. Is it possible to exclude Cluster 2.

  I think that your new installation of MIS 4.1 expects you to enter by VM license key, that's why you get an error.

  You have two options:

  1. convert your vm socket key. Before you do, make sure that you get enough licenses to protect the whole of the VMs. rate Convertion is 1 socket to 5 VMs. BTW, you will not be able to buy other licenses taken by if you want to expand your cluster.

  2 contact VMware support. They managed to solve the problem which is very similar to yours: http://communities.vmware.com/message/1656134#1656134

  But since then, everytime I lauch VI client to step «Discover plugins...» ', it asks me to choose a debugger (with a unique choice of Microsoft Script Editor) and I must decline 10 times before it will work eventually. VMware support told me to install or reinstall my computer, but I'd rather have it run without a reinstall.

  • Make a right click my computer / properties.

  • Click on Advanced tab

  • Under performance, click settings

  • Click the data execution prevention tab

  • Select turn on DEP for Windows programs and services only

  • Restart Windows

  Also, this will help you;

  • Internet Explorer / Tools

  • Internet Options

  • Advanced

  • • Disable Script debugging (Internet Explorer)

    • Disable Script debugging (other)
