Cannot open my trial of lightroom as it says 'updated' rather that 'open' in the creative cloud (problems related to step 2 of (problems with step 2 in https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/launch-start-app.html) have checked and there are no more recent updates.) Help please - I'd like to try Lightroom to see how it differs from photoshop before buying the product.

To the right of 2015 of Lightroom, you'd see a gear icon and an arrow pointing down, kindly click on, select uninstall, and then reinstall lightroom again.

Hi, I am puzzled because I didn't consciously choose to download one of my photographs to cloud creative (Adobe Lightroom has sent me an email informing me that the photos are waiting for me on my mobile device). I've been working and learning with Lightroom however and through this process, I imported my photos into Lightroom. Thus, an import to Lightroom means an automatic download to the creative cloud? I'm not ready ready yet to use the CC storage for any of my files yet. If they have been uploaded - how can I access remove? Gosh, it makes me nervous as I want to be in charge... your help is much appreciated...
No, the files are not automatically sent to the creative cloud when you import them into Lightroom. In order to have images in the cloud of Adobe creative, it must create a collection in Lightroom, choose the images you want to share via Lightroom online or via Lightroom Mobile. You will have to consciously choose to share this collection before sending them to the cloud. If you have inadvertently shared a collection, it's simple stop sharing by clicking on the small icon to the left of this collection. You are in complete control of what you share and do not share in the cloud. You could take the time to watch this video. It will give you a good introduction to the functioning of Lightroom Mobile:

If you want to see what so-called pictures are waiting for you, you can go to Lightroom.adobe.com and sign in with your Adobe ID and password. Go to C: > Program Files > Adobe.
Open the Adobe folder and check if Adobe Premiere Pro cc is present or not.

Right now I'm having to go through each photo and send it to archive, then removes it from the archive. There must be a better way, but for the life of me, I have not been able to get out!
Yes, you don't have to do this 1 by 1.
The page of files to https://assets.adobe.com/files you want to switch the default view of the mosaic to the list. You will then be able to select all the photos and send them to the Archive. Then switch to Archive and permanently delete the items.

I stupidly downloaded Acrobat DC and now I can no longer save or print my attachments without buying a subscription which I don't want. I want to uninstall DC and reinstall XI. The first step said to go to the creative cloud, I did not. Thank you.

Are you referring to DC Acrobat or Acrobat Reader DC.
Acrobat Reader DC is a free application & Acrobat DC is a purchased app.
To uninstall the application, do so simply in the Applications folder in the trash folder.
Restart your Mac & if you want to install Reader 11, you can download it using this link https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ , else if it were XI Acrobat, you can download using this link Download Adobe Acrobat products. Standard, Pro | DC, XI, X

Yes, it's confusing, but simply install the new version of Lightroom. In the creative cloud application Lightroom still shows as a facility not as an Update.
