  When various restrictions of document are applied to a PDF document, the PDF document will be encrypted/protected.

  Mobile products Acrobat DC (for iOS and Android) have the known limit where the changes cannot be saved in encrypted PDF documents.  As a result, users are not able to make changes (addition of comments/annotations or forms) for encrypted PDF documents.

  As you already know, there is no such limitation in the desktop version of Adobe Reader or Acrobat.

• CS5-Custom links to EPS files do not work?

  I'm building a plugin that allows you to place the graphic elements of our own external property management system in their InDesign document.  These assets need to maintain a relationship "customized" for foreign assets.

  Everything worked fine for the image raster formats simple (like JPEG), but the custom link information seem to have lost EPS files.

  After deep debugging, I decided to try and build one of the plugins examples provided with CS5 - "customdatalink" and the "customdatalinkui" that comes with it.  This example is such a thing with the CSV files that reference external assets.

  To make a long story short, the example plugin shows the exact same behavior.  If you change one of the examples of csv files to point to an EPS image and that place in a document, you will see that the URI link is replaced by a path of type file:// instead of the custom csv: / / URI.  It works as expected for JPEG files.

  Surely, this is not expected behavior.  Am I missing something obvious here or is this a bug of simple (but quite major for my plugin)?

  I had this problem also with CS4 and I guess that's the same thing with CS5. It's complicated why it happens to EPS files, but it's because the weird way the EPS importer works. If I remember well, it is because the importer sees the boss of IPMStream includes an IID_IFILESTREAMDATA and creates it are link own resource. The link then ends with 2 link between resources.

  You need to change your ILinkResourceHandler::CreateResourceReadStream to return your own IPMStream when it comes to EPS files. I know it's wacked out but what links custom, especially handling the InCopy files, is not... ? You can just make your feed a proxy for a real IPMStream and since your feed dosen't include an IID_IFILESTREAMDATA you will not get the problem of resource of the double bond.

  Yes, it is a problem in the last patch of DC. The short term solution until a fix is released is to disable the Protected Mode (via preferences (enhanced) protection in the drive). See https://helpx.adobe.com/reader/using/protected-mode-windows.html#id_94783

• RH10 - WebHelp links to PDF files stop working when WebHelp is generated.

  RH10 - after generation to WebHelp links to PDF files do not work. If I saw the topic in HR, the file will open and display. HR project reports any broken links. If I have a link to the file again, the file will be imported in HR and overwrite the file that already exists.  If I do one generate and display in my office cannot find the files of a hyperlink.   If I do a primary mode, the files could not be found in FireFox. Had too many problems with IE10 so I stopped using it.

  I've never had this happen before with any version of RoboHelp. Please help me.

  Ahhhh, you did not say that it did not work once you have copied the files on the server. That's a horse of a very different hue!

  Okay, so if it's the WebHelp on the server, you have problems with, here's what to check.

  Are the files that you are linking to really there? They cannot be. What are the baggage files for. You may need to add the files that you link to the list of files so that they are between the release of baggage.

  If the files are there, the server can be a flavor of UNIX. In this case, you will need to check the naming conventions. If the file name is SomeFile.PdF, and your link says SOMEFILE. PDF (or another variant of case) links fails on a UNIX UNIX server being very picky about file names.

• PDF files do not run video created with Captivate

  I create videos eLeaning with Adobe Captivate and the resulting video is generated in a PDF and HTM file. For some such e-Learning, the PDF file does not work. the window opens and the bar for OCD and a small window black where the video to load, display. It's as if the video is loading but nothing happens.

  I am using windows 7 OS. Captivate isn't a problem because the HTM files generate properly. Adobe Reader is also not a problem because some of the videos load perfectly. There are only a few videos that give a problem. No idea what could be wrong. If you would be grateful if anyone has an advisor.

  If you want to send the PDF to your Tablet via email or download from a server to your Tablet and then open it with Safari, IE or another browser or default viewer, the PDF file will not have the same functionality you have when you test locally on your Mac (likely using Acrobat). It will be just a two-dimensional, flat PDF document that you are currently experiencing. But, if when you use your tablet, you are able to open the PDF file with Adobe Acrobat Reader application, your nav buttons should then work.

  To my knowledge, there is no method to create an interactive PDF that will have universal across all platforms features much that a user may choose to use. You'll have to instruct them to open the doc with Acrobat or another Viewer known, compatible.

  If you bought the subscription for export to Adobe PDF format, you can convert PDF files to Word, Excel and RTF formats only.

  If you try to export the PDF file to one of the above formats, so please let me know if there is any error message.

  Try to export the file after you login to "https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf" by using the credentials of your Adobe ID.

  There seems to be a problem with PDF Maker. I found the same result with PDF Maker, which included no graphics (markup). HOWEVER, if I print to the printer Adobe PDF, the result is very good. The latter would no links or bookmarks, but the markup is here. I couldn't find all the PDF Maker settings to work around this problem.
