This isn't a problem of software with a Microsoft product.  ;-)

Is there a "wall of water" (wall of water pipes) or some work in brick/stone between you and the router when the signal is weaker?  Do you have other 2.4 GHz devices (cordless phones, microwave ovens, etc.) between you and the router?

  • 4600 pro connects to the Linksys WAG354 Wireless router!

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600 with internal wireless card. I'm trying to connect to my Linksys WAG354 wireless router. The laptop seems to connect but only get a connection status ' Limited or no connectivity "note computer says it has problem because the network has not assigned a network address of the computer.

I called Linksys, but the call center do not have a lot of help! They said that I should update the driver for the Toshiba wireless... I did that, but still the same problem.

I am running windows XP. I have two other laptops connected to the router WAG354 and they work fine.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Hello

I agree with Michael. I think that some false setting is responsible for this. If your network is visible for the laptop, the features of the card are OK and the problem parameters.

  • Can't make an Apple iPod Touch to connect to my new Linksys WRT54GL Wireless router.

    Hello.

I'm trying to set up the iPod Touch (bought for more than a year; using v2.2 (5 G 77) firmware) of the of my client to connect to my new encrypted Linksys WRT54GL Wireless router. After we entered the password (too many sensitive cases and WPA shared key) as five times, he said "Failed to join"FooBarWRT54GL"" immediately.

The router uses the latest firmware v4.30.13 with these wireless settings:
Wireless network mode: Mixed (you want to support the devices/clients and B).
Wireless Network Name (SSID) example: FooBarWRT54GL
    Wireless channel: 1-2, 412 GHZ
    Security mode: WPA2 Personal
    WPA algorithms: TKIP + AES
Example of WPA Shared key: Abunchofletters aspacetoo

I guess that this device can do WPA Personal as she saw the WAP and requested a password. We have not had any problems with a year old 15 "MacBook Pro (2.4 Ghz and Mac OS X 10.5.8) and it's easy as cake.

Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

I finally got to work, with the help of Apple at the forum: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10650288... I had to do a manual configuration. Don't know why selecting the WAP and entering his password/password didn't work.

  • Connectivity of the wireless router problem

I have a Cisco's Linksys WRT160N wireless router.  After it is up and running, all my wireless devices work fine.  My sons Wii for my laptop, my wifes iPod Touch. But the strangest thing is happening.  I have problems connecting to the internet with my desktop computer that is hard wired to the linksys router.

Often I can connect any... other times it's quite slow compared to when I plug my office directly to a cable modem.  Finally, sometimes certain aspects of the Web page will appear while others won't.

Question: Is damaged?  Or is there something that I am missing.  You would think it would be right forweard enough... OH, I have also replaced the cables from the desktop to the router and have already done all the reboot that I care to do as well as redo the ip address in the part of the repair of my control panel.

    Any ideas?

Access the Page of configuration of your router and lower the MTU size of the router to Auto/1500 to 1400.

No problem with previously connected D-Link DIR - 655 wireless router.

Seems strange that any "passesses" by the results of the wireless network Test.  Yet, still unable to connect.

    Looking for any help.

    Thank you

    Mark

    Finally a resolution...

I tried running an ePrint of New York telephone, and it worked, but still no luck wirelessly from the PC printing.

He said that the WiFi was indeed working.  So, I did a search for new firmware and found that there was one in April of this year (2016).  Downloaded and took a chance on install.  To my amazement, it is actually installed on the printer without any connection "connected".  Who told me that there is an existing wireless link.

Once the install is complete firmware, I tried to print a worksheet Excel from the PC, and it actually printed!  I have to assume there was something in the formware upgrade which allowed the router from LinkSys (WRT1900AC) to communicate fully and to work with the PC.  The router was published in 2014, so maybe it was.

In any event, everything is in fully working again.

Man y thanks to all who have shared their data entry.  I hope this could help someone with a similar problem in the future.

    Thanks again!

  • Installation with WRT310N wireless router problem

I have currently an old model WRT54G Router installed wireless that works very well, but I need the WPS technology if I want to install a newer model WRT310N router. I used the installation cd supplied with the router, which has not seen any problem until I removed the old router and plugged in power in the new after connecting the anc ethernet cables to my cable modem. For some reason any the software wont recognize the new router so I can continue with the configuration of the installation. Since I plugged the new router in the same connections that I had had the old LInksys router connected to, I do not understand why and I can not proceed with the installation. I finally just reinstalled... connected., my old router and it works fine, but this isn't a solution for me.

It might have something to do with the sequence to connect the different cables? I also tried to use 192.168.1.1. via my browser and could up the installation screens but it wont let me install the new router so that the old one is still in place and without the old one in place, I can not access the configuration on my desktop screens.

I have my router in a closet with my... cable modem... .but the WRT54G worked fine for 2 years in the same cupboard and I also installed a Netgear N600 router as an alternative. is it installed fine until what happened to the point where he said the beach was too limited. .i guess work in the closet.  I guess I can buy a range extender to solve this problem, but I have no experience with those so im not sure if this will solve the problem. I prefer to get the Linksys WRT310N to work if possible.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Thanks for the tips on how to handle this. Fortunately, I discovered later that the Linksys router, I bought on ebay, is apparently defective and it now resides in my trash. That said, I also realized with the help of a neighbor that my Kindle works with the good old Linksys router I used for 4 years or more. My problem was to not understand how to download books on the Kindle, even though I thought I did. So the problem is moot. Sorry I got worth this site with no problem.

  • Question re: Atheros AR5007 802. 11 b / g adapter and connection w/Linksys E2000 wireless router

Help! I'm at my wit's end. I just bought a Linksys E2000 router and cannot find a way to get the router to connect wireless on my HP G60-235DX laptop (running Vista) via the WPA2 setting. I know that the Atheros AR5007 802. 11 b / g wifi adapter is the question, and I downloaded the latest driver update... and still have the same problems.

FYI - I can connect to the computer via the internet cable from the Linksys E2000 router so I know that it is not a modem issue.

    Help... PLEASE, I BEG YOU!

Thank you, thank you, thank you...

    Paul,

I solved the problem! After almost return the router to Best Buy today during lunch, I decided to give it a try more tonight and again call LinkSys. After almost decided with the Linksys officer that they only solution is to put another card in my computer, we stumbled on the question.

We have gone to 5.0 GHz to 2.4 and spent the 'auto' channel to channel 9.

And now my computer works like a charm (thanks also to update the driver as you instructed).

    Thank you!

  • Linksys e2000 wireless, download problems

    Hello

My problem occurs when I am downloading something big, mainly the download speed triggers in a point and he dives I disconnected from the internet for a few seconds. This only happens when my laptop is on a wireless connection, and this phenomenon is repeated until the download is complete. During the crash of the connection, I am not able to access any site.

My laptop is an Asus G with Win7 64 bit SP1 series, and I use utorrent for downloads P2P.

    Do the following settings:

[A] with the help of the Cisco Connect software (if at all, you have installed the router using this software)

1] open the software and go to the option that says "settings of the router.

[2] then click on the option that says 'Advanced settings', which will take you to the router configuration page.

[3] lower the MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) of 1500 to 1400 or less (usually located on your main configuration page / database routers). Here is the link to determine and implement the right size MTU: http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=fbf8e8564632422eaa8ea80bf9dcba64_386.xml&pid=80&re...

[B] If you have not installed Cisco connect then you can connect to the router's user interface using its default IP address in the browser which is 192.168.1.1 and enter "admin" as password empty username field. This will take to the web interface of the router and then follow the steps as indicated above to make the changes.

  • Linksys WRT120N wireless router

Hello, I just bought this router from dell.com because I thought that this would be the plu router ever. The issue is that I keep losing my internet connection in general.

I have 2 devices wired to my PC and the other being my XBOX. I have 2 laptops, 1 Receiver USB wireless to a computer desktop and a nintendo wii console. All of my devices have been identified on the network, and at one point were all properly connected to the network and internet.

    Network security settings:

    the router user name: *.
    router password: *.
network name (SSID): price Mauer network
type of network security: greater security (WPA / WPA2)
    network security key: *.
    type of connection: Keep-Alive

It's my information on my network. Of course, I have kept some information. Today alone, I had a problem with a laptop which is HP. I typed in all the correct settings and it wouldn't connect to the internet only "metered" meaning that it has been connected to the router but not the internet. Now at the SAME TIME my alienware laptop m17x WAS CONNECTED with the same EXACT settings, but it wouldn't connect.

The only way I solved the problem was simply unplug the router and reconnect and so everyone had new Internet. Why should I have to unplug my router whenever I want to solve the problem? I shouldn't do that. I already checked to modernise the equipment of network and none are necessary. Run us a variety of platforms from windows 7, windows vista to windows xp.

It is not my internet connection because I replaced my old modem I had for 3 years that has a Netgear router I have had absolutely no problem with. I got this modem for 2 days and I had to unplug it and plug it back at least 3 - 4 times to get the network working again. I also unfortunately after having bought this unit read the comments and unfortunately declined to read because they were all negative except for 1 or 2 of 30 or more.

If I could solve this problem or someone has all of the recommendations that I have not tried, I'd be more than happy to try it and see if I can go at least a whole day without something happening to my network. I really don't want to go through the hassle of return this product and to set up my old router again.

Any help would be appreciated, sorry for the frustration on my part. I want just a new router which is not 3 years old and up to date so that I can have a faster more reliable network. Not a router I have to disconnect and then re - fix issues every 30 minutes.

    Thank you

    -Matorian ([email protected])

On your Vista and Win 7 computers turn off IPv6 under two adapters Wi-wired and LAN properties.

In the router, turn off UPnP, under settings wireless Beacon Interval 75, RTS and Fragmentation threshold to 2304.  Save the settings.  Restart the computer and you connect again.

  • Signature problems, the wireless router.

I have a problem of signing on the internet through a Linksys WRT54G2V1 wireless router model. I use Windows Vista Service Pack 2. When I start my computer, it is not the sign on the internet, even if it is connected to the wireless router. Address ip/4 shows 169.254.42.23. After I unplug the router for 20 seconds and then plug it in again, my computer will sign it on the internet. 192.168.1.100 is the ip/4 address. In the meantime, my wife's computer has no problem signing on the internet via the wireless router. When I start my computer, it uses the address 169.254. He has only started to do this recently. What should I do to fix my sign on the problem?
