Linksys WUMC710 Question

I just got my WUMC710 and I was wonder if I should update. Read the people having a lot of problems with it, after that they have updated. I'm going to use it with a Linksys WRT1900 AC (Firmware 1.1.7.160582) and provided a Verizon Actiontec MI424WR Rev. I (Firmware 40.21.10.3).

I'm moving the router back to the floor in a 3-storey house. Most of the devices in the House is used on the 3rd floor or 2nd floor. Then I'll have the WUMC710 in the basement to sending the data to the basement computer, drive Blu - Ray, AT & T 3 G Microcell Tower and the Actiontec MI424WR Rev I. I on the MAC filtering, but the WUMC710 is the only MAC address that is not yet.

I recommend that you test the device out of the box first before updating. It has not always recommended to update FW as update may not fix see immediate problems. Test it first and go from there. Configurations and environment play a role in the functioning of the devices.

So for starters, I have 2 switches, one for computers and the other for IP phones, they're plugged into a wired router, while the router is connected to the modem. My client has a switch mini under his office that connects to the network printer and his computer to the switch of the computer, plugged into a wall outlet that went to the telephone switch that makes a loop from one switch to another, the Microswitch who messed up his Copier IP addresses and IP phone and made 2 ea6350 wireless routers go down Router 1 is connected via the PC port on an IP phone, so it can get an internet connection (lets call this RouterD router), it worked before this, but now I have problems. The other router is connected through another mini switch that goes to the switch of the computer in the wiring closet, so it is not connected through an IP phone like this, but it does not work either since plugged the Microswitch in the switch of IP phone (lets call this RouterU router). I tried to install RouterD with an IP address that differs by the main router (192.168.0.1) DEFECT in the wiring closet (192.168.0.2) and he had point to the default gateway 192.168.0.1 and a 24 regular but it won't always connect to the internet, the settings previously were even if the phone is able to call and receive calls. I have not messed with RouterU yet because I was trying to trouble RouterD. The previous configuration I don't mess with, I plugged it in and it worked fine. I would appreciate would like to thank all the assistance.

I have reset both routers EA would then follow it and create one at a time:

    http://www.Northshore-it.com/Tips/how-tos/cascade_linksys/#LAN_to_LAN

The routers value EA one IP address static to 192.168. #.63 and the other at 192.168. #. 64. to reconnect to the LAN to LAN after reconfigureing.

Is there a bridge mode defining routers on environmental assessment? Connectivity-online Internet settings => IPv4-online Bridge Mode

If so, you can assign both to fill the mode then you can connect the WAN port on each EA router to the router main host. Then the linksyssmartwifi could be used.

  • Question of Linksys LAPAC1750PRO band management

Hey everybody. I have installed two AC1750PRO APs for a customer. Setup was easy, I upgraded 1.0.6 Build 2, and they appear to be stable. ButI have a question about the option management on this unit group.

I understand other devices and documents that band leadership tries to force about 70 ~ % of devices that support dual-band on Channel 5 instead of 2.4 GHz, to reduce congestion, as most of the devices simply default dual-band 2.4 otherwise channel.

I'm not sure, this is how the Linksys 1750PRO behave with this setting? The only option that I see because it is in the menu Access Point virtual under radio 2.4 ghz, in the form of a or to disable the check box. Am I was right in my assumption that check this checkbox will result in customers dual band facing the 5 GHz channel, instead of the channels 2.4 ghz, if possible?

In my view, that documentation should be updated in what respect this setting and how it behaves. The FAQ on this devices has only a question about tape management, which is 'How to activate steering band?' and the answer is incorrect. The answer says that you go to Configuration > Wireless > advanced. But there is no section advanced 1.0.6. The setting is indeed on the menu of virtual Access Points (VAP) under only 2.4 ghz radio.

Yes, the documentation on the direction Strip is not the best.

You are right about what direction Strip is and does.

What I find weird, it's that you can activate Executive on 5 GHz. It's not logical in my thinking because the direction of tape effects only Dual Band customers who are connecting to 2.4 Ghz.

It seems to me that dual band rules are not strictly implemented in the user interface. I recommend that you test with the underside of configuration for the direction of the band.

    1. Radio 1 (2,4 Ghz) VAP 0 activate direction Strip
    2. Radio 2 (5 GHz) VAP 0 enable band management and reflect the Radio 1 PPV parameters 0

In my mind, this is the only setting where I can see band Director for VFR operation 0.

  • Question re: Atheros AR5007 802. 11 b / g adapter and connection w/Linksys E2000 wireless router

Help! I'm at my wit's end. I just bought a Linksys E2000 router and cannot find a way to get the router to connect wireless on my HP G60-235DX laptop (running Vista) via the WPA2 setting. I know that the Atheros AR5007 802. 11 b / g wifi adapter is the question, and I downloaded the latest driver update... and still have the same problems.

FYI - I can connect to the computer via the internet cable from the Linksys E2000 router so I know that it is not a modem issue.

    Help... PLEASE, I BEG YOU!

Thank you, thank you, thank you...

    Paul,

I solved the problem! After almost return the router to Best Buy today during lunch, I decided to give it a try more tonight and again call LinkSys. After almost decided with the Linksys officer that they only solution is to put another card in my computer, we stumbled on the question.

We have gone to 5.0 GHz to 2.4 and spent the 'auto' channel to channel 9.

And now my computer works like a charm (thanks also to update the driver as you instructed).

    Thank you!

  • Linksys WRT1900 AC question

First of all, I tried to download the latest firmware. He screwed up the router where it wouldn't even properly initialize due to this new firmware on the linksys site.  I was finally able to return to the original firmware. Is there a way to put the latest firmware on this router without spoiling him.

My router is in the next room in a small apartment and sometimes I'll have abandoned signals where I can't even play videos on 2.5 ghz. and 5 GHz slower speed on the computer. Is that what I can do to speed up this router.  The cable modem is speed is 50 when I get only 20 and it sometimes looks like the connection drops. I looked online, and someone suggested to change channels. I don't know what I should change the channels on the up and down buttons.

If all your devices are capable of 5 GHz and the range is pretty good by any means clear the 2.4. I want to start using the auto for the 5 GHz range and 20 only for the 2.4 if leave you it enabled. The 2.4 band is usually so crowded, that it does not much above 20 in any case. For the channels you can get an app that will show you what is already used. WiFi Analyzer on a smartphone works well for that purpose. try to stay on 1, 6 or 11 If you use the 2.4 and a channel not used on the 5 GHz range.

  • Linksys EA6100 time questions

Hello everyone, I'm new here and I recently encountered a problem with my Linksys EA6100.

So I bought a new router from Linksys EA6100 Best Buy around November 2014. It worked fine until 2 weeks about where every evening between 20:00-12: he just would become unusable in different intervals. It is not the signal that dies, but her intermet. It would really slow down (to the point where I can't load google) for 2 minutes, before quickly going again within 5 minutes, and then slow down again and so on. This does not happen during the day at night, every night.

I got scared, that it is not the router but the modem, but I recently went for my old Linksys WRT54G Router and even if the signal isn't as strong and as fast, I did not have this problem.

Anyone know what the problem is with the EA6100?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I don't want to buy a new router haha.

    Thank you

    Daniel

Your Internet settings are good for IPv4. Unless your ISP requires IPv6 you must disable it under Internet settings.

2.4 Ghz is long range but slower and 5 GHz short range but super fast.

I recommend allowing the range of 5 GHz and having separate SSID for 2.4 Ghz and 5 GHz signals.

  • Question to Linksys WRT54G password

I have a router wireless of linksys WRT54G hard wired to a mac and I use the router to get your laptop online. Everything works beautifully. Now I have an iphone that I want to be able to use the same network on. When I turn on my iphone it finds the router which of course requires a password. I'm going in what I think is the password and it is denied. I am able to connect to the Web page of the router and access all my settings. On the administration tab, there is a place to change the password. I changed this and entered a new password, but the only thing that changes is the password that is used to get access to the web page of Linksys. (the web page that I can enter to change and access settings) am I wrong to think this would be the same password to my iphone application?

Sorry for the long explanation, just try to give detailed information.

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, it's the wrong password.  Look under your security settings wireless / wireless and you will find the password requested.  This will be a key/paraphrase or password depending on the encryption you put in place.

  • Wireless router to modem Homeportal 1800 HG 2wire Linksys WRT54G with questions

I have the Linksys WRT54G, and I'm trying to use it as the router to my modem 2wire Homeportal 1800 HG wireless.  The 2wire has four ethernet Sockets in the back marked from 1 to 4 and a telephone jack to connect to the wall for AT & T DSL service.

I have the phone jack connected, and:

    -an ethernet cable

-to one of the sockets at the back of the 2wire ethernet

-to the 'Internet' on the Linksys ethernet jack

    - and an ethernet cable

-to one of the ethernet (1-4) at the back of the linksys

-to the ethernet port on the computer

The Linksys is unable to connect via the modem and reports that it may not get an IP address from the PPPoE server.  (Directly connect to the 2wire works well though.)

    Who am I wrong configuration?

There is no side effect of bridge mode... It is one of the mode in which the modem function. When the modem is in bridge mode, you cannot go online with the computer connected directly to the modem... and you will get a 169.254.x.x ip address.

So after you convert the modem into bridge mode, you must do the PPPoE settings on the router to go online via router.

  • WUMC710 removal of packages

    I've got two WUMC710.  I connect to them on a TP - Link Archer C7 rev 1.

My first WUMC710 I've upgraded to 1.0.2 and put it at the end of my home where my XBOX One.  It shows between 20-30% on the connection.  When you try to stream wireless AC (80 mhz) it disconnects constantly.  When I change N (40 mhz), it works fine.  I tried moved temporarily to neighbors the router and no change in behavior.  I can't get 80 mhz to be reliable at all.

On my second WUMC710, it has all the little 1.0.02 unstable.  When a continuous load is placed on it, it starts to drop packets.  Decommissioning of back 1.0.00 rev 23 seems to fix the problem.  Again AC (80 mhz) is unusable, regardless of the revision of the firmware.

Someone at - it a link to any other firmware (like 1.0.01) given that Linksys does not seem to have the old firmware is archived on the Web site?  Has anyone seen the questions above?  Should I contact Linksys for RMA since the 2nd one seems to be unstable on 1.0.02, while the first works?

Here are a few firmwares that I used for the WUMC710. I found the 1.0.02 build to be very stable. I've included screenshots of my config. I remember that a factory reset and reconfigure from scratch can be beneficial real in the functioning of this unit. For placement, I recommend that you don't have any signal less than what is displayed in the screenshots because my WUMC710 can not be moved even a few feet further although it becomes unstable.

  • Address MAC WUMC710 problems when using MAC filtering

I recently bought the point WUMC710-HQ AC wireless to connect to my router EA6500.  Generally, the WUMC710 seems to work.  I was able to connect to the router wirelessly on the 5 GHz band and flow EA6500 a NetFlix video with no problems.

However, there is a major problem that comes makes no logical sense for me:

When I turn on the wireless MAC address filtering of the EA6500, the WUMC710 does not connect to the EA6500router.

Yet, I 8 eight other wireless devices on my network which connect very well to the EA6500 when the MAC address filtering is enabled.  Thus, the question seems to outright to WUMC710.

The address printed on the product shipment to the ends of the box with numbers XX:1 d.

This address matches the address printed at the bottom of the WUMC710 MAC. (normal)

My EA6500 router recognizes this MAC address as the correct MAC associated with the WUMC710 (when MAC filtering is enabled).  But as soon as the MAC filtering is turned on, the WUMC710 does not recover to the router. (I checked the MAC address, that I walked into the filter at least a dozen times, and she entered correct - but all my other wireless devices connect OK).

This is a point that seems strange on the MAC address associated to the WUMC710:

When I am able to connect to the WUMC710, State--> tab Device illustrated the right address MAC I use to filter.  But when I check the status--> network wireless tab, it displays the MAC address wireless like: XX:1E.

So, now, I try to get into this 'new' MAC address in the MAC of the router EA6500 filter just to see if it will work with this MAC address "without papers" of the wireless device.  At first, it seems to work.  The WUMC710 of blue light will come on indicating that a wireless connection has been established with the router.  BUT nowhere in the web interface of EA6500 says that the WUMC710 has a DHCP connection with the router.  And, if I connect my laptop directly to one of the WUMC710 Ethernet ports, there is no connection to the Internet via the router (as long as the MAC filtering is enabled).

I did Factory Reset a few times now and no difference.

Firmware is the factory default - it is there no update of the firmware available, yet.

I spent several hours trying to understand what is happening with this device and go round and round in circles in trying different things.  I can only conclude WUMC710-AC is defective, or requires a firmware fix - but none are available.

Am I missing something here?  Or Cisco does suggest a fix for the firmware for the WUMC710-AC?

(I don't really like to run my network wireless MAC address filtering active wireless.)

    Kind regards

    Jeff

Cisco-Linksys 2 support with me today confirmed what I thought it was a possible firmware bug, is actually undocumented features of the WUMC710, by design.  And they agreed that they will update the documentation for WUMC710 to take account of these features and system requirements.

Just like a reference to new users of the WUMC710 AC wireless bridge, I will summarize here the requirements for WUMC710 wireless bridge to work properly with the router, Cisco-Linksys AC6500 Wireless, when MAC filtering is enabled.  If all goes well, this information will save some other people the many hours I spent to dig through the documentation and the FAQ to try to understand what it takes to connect successfully devices behind the bridge of WUMC710 to the AC6500 router - when the MAC address filtering is enabled:

The following MAC address must be entered in the AC6500 router table filtering of MAC addresses to connect devices behind the bridge WUMC710 wireless to the Internet:

    1. The MAC address of the bridge wireless WUMC710 wireless.
    2. The address MAC LAN of the WUMC710 bridge.
    3. Addresses MAC LAN of each LAN device connected to the LAN Ports of the WUMC710 bridge.

    That in a few words.

With this information, devices behind the WUMC710 of Internet connection (with the active MAC filtering) is a breeze.

    Hello Jaime,

Only the UWA-BR100 wireless LAN adapter is supported for use with the Sony BDP-S370 Blu - ray disc drive to connect to a wireless network. Sony has tested the adapter LAN USB UWA BR100 and it is guaranteed to work with the BD player. Adapter USB LAN wireless from other manufacturers may work, but Sony has not tested the and as a result, operations are not guaranteed.

If you want to know more on wireless technology or the settings of the router, please check this useful site:

But don't know about the card installed in this unit wireless network. It s a 2200BG Intel wlan card and if you will look on other assignments, there are many questions about this wlan card.
Usually the wlan card driver update will solve some problem of connectivity and also turning off the power save mode in the properties of the wlan card.

I want to buy a "Linksys WRT120N" for my A500 - 17 X wireless router, and my question is can I get full speed with this router as 100 Mbps or more.
I don't have as much knowledge on wireless routers and that is why I ask.

    And the other question is:
This router will give me good signal in my apartment of 60 m 2 from one room to another?

    Hello

I think your question should be posted in the forum of the manufacturer of the router and not here in the forum of Toshiba.

Anyway. It seems that the Wlan WRT120N router is certified for
    IEEE 802.3, IEEE 802.3u, IEEE 802. 11 b, IEEE 802. 11 g, Wi - Fi CERTIFIED, IEEE 802.11n (draft 2.0)

As you can see the supported WiFi standards: 802.11 B, G and N

For your laptop s Wlan card supports Draft N, you should be able to connect to 802.11 N.
