Loading of Enhancement Pack of research during the boot

When I boot, Microsoft "Search Enhancement Pack" folder is displayed.  How can I remove or move, it remains not displayed?

Hello

I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below.

Method 1:

The Search Enhancement Pack is part of the Live toolbar, the highlighting of search pack is not really necessary. You can disable it if you like by following the steps mentioned below. However, this file doesn't cause any damage to your system.

You can try to remove this Pack by

a. click on start

b. Select run

c. type the following command: msiexec /x {299CF645-48C7-4FA1-8BCD-5CE200CF180D}

d. click OK.

Method 2:

If this is not the case, this pack will be present in the Add / Remove programs. You can uninstall it from there. To uninstall the program from the system follow the steps mentioned below.

a. go to C:/Program Files/Microsoft/Search Enhancement Pack

b. search for a file named "Seaport.exe" and change it to "Port old.exe" and delete all the files in this folder.

c. remove all programs 'Windows Live Messenger' in the Control Panel Add/Remove Programs configuration. Restart the computer.

d. If the 'Search Enhancement Pack' window does not appear on initialize to top, then re - install Windows Live Messenger. (latest version)

Thanks and regards.

  • "Search Enhancement Pack," folder appears at the start of my computer.

For a while when my computer starts a window pops up that contains a folder named "Microsoft", which in turn contains a folder named 'Search Enhancement Pack', the two files in date 25/12/2010. The files are in my computer/HP_Pavilion C: / Program Files. I am running Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3. I guess that this issue came on my computer in a download automatic update of Windows that I did not knowingly download it myself. How can I stop happening, please? I asked this question on Microsoft Answers, who tried to help, but running out of suggestions and said I should post my question here. Unfortunately, Windows Live Solution Center can help me and sent me here. Help please.

    Hello, Kim S,.

    Thank you for your advice.

I haven't had any software or hardware changes before this problem, just something that could come in the automatic updates in Microsoft Windows.

I followed all your instructions but, unfortunately, the issue still persisted thereafter.

Out of desperation I decided to take the risk of trying to remove all the files contained in the records of the problem. In the msconfig window services tab, I found a service called SeaPort. I recognized the name of one of the files that I had seen when I searched through all the folders/Microsoft Search Enhancement Pack individually. I disabled this service and rebooted the computer. I tried to delete the files/Microsoft Search Enhancement Pack, but my computer would not allow it. I then individually deleted all files and folders in the folders of Microsoft/Search Enhancement Pack, and finally delete the two folders themselves. Then I went back to msconfig and clicking Normal Startup - load all the device drivers and services and then on OK. This seems to have solved the problem and I didn't notice the adverse consequences of my actions on my computer. So I think that the issue is now closed. Thanks to everyone who tried to help me with this problem.

  • HP Elitebook 8740w: How can remove the text / name of the company that is displayed during the boot process?

    Hello

I bought my work laptop from my employer. During the startup of my employer's legal name is still displayed on the splash screen ' "(the screen with the HP logo).

    -J' already started back and ran the EREPLOGO. EXE utility to remove the logo (ereplogo.exe/e). The utility said that the logo has been removed;

    -in the BIOS 'view custom logo' is unchecked, so it will not use an image of the partition tools hp;

However, during the startup the company name is still displayed on the top of the screen... :-(

    (1) how can I change this text to start or remove it completely?

    (2) what can I do to display the specifications of hardware during startup instead of this "splash screen"?

    Thanks in advance,

    SJW

    PS I have the latest BIOS (F.60 Rev.A, November 30, 2015)

    Hello

I managed to change the line of text with the BiosConfigUtility64.exe.

With "BiosConfigUtility64 getconfig:config.txt", you can write all the values in the bios and a text file with "BiosConfigUtility64 setconfig.config.txt", you can set all the values after you change the values you want to change. In my case, that I had to change the value of "property tag", which is the value that appears in the home screen during the boot process.

Later, I discovered the tag 'property' can also be changed under the Security tab of the configuration of the BIOS (F10) normal... until I knew what the property tag, I associate the line of text to security so I did find the text before :-) field

  • Iconia W700P - need to access bluetooth keyboard during the boot UEFI or need to boot from a USB

Solved a problem, now face two other:

The W700P will now boot from a DVD recovery Acronis TI, but to select the restore function (then the specific restore backup), it requires an entry for a keyboard. The Bluetooth keyboard supplied with the W700P does not work during the boot sequence. I prefer not to go out and buy a USB keyboard, but it is perhaps the only option.

    Or-

The W700P boot from a USB key can stick? I read that this is impossible, but in looking at the Acer store, that's all they offer as recovery media for the W700P. I made a bootable USB key, when I bought the computer first, but I can't seem to start. All I get is repeated boot Acer screens, maybe he's trying different options in the boot order. I tried to change the order, put a password for boot and secure boot off, but I still have the same question.

    Any ideas?

Solved once and for the moment! I now have a USB hub, USB, USB and DVD USB mouse keyboard (powered externally). Throw all these things on the machine, I was able to boot into the Acronis Recovery DVD, go to the menu and reinstall a previous backup of Windows 8.1.

    Hello

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Run the scan tool (SFC) System File Checker and check if it helps.

This problem may occur if a system file is missing or damaged.

You can refer to the method-the System File Checker tool in the following article:

How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7: http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

    Method 2:

Try to clean boot, and then check to see if this helps you.

How to solve the problem by running the clean boot in Windows 7:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: Once you have completed troubleshooting, perform the steps in the step 7: to reset the computer as usual.

    Method 3:

Try the steps in the following Microsoft article and check if it helps.

  • Satellite P70-A-11 q - Windows 8.1 stops during the boot process

    Hello.
I have a q P70-A-11. almost from the first day I got the camera that I have problems with starting.
The OS is installed on a 250 GB SSD.

Treat it as I turn on the laptop and its still the boot stops down unexpectedly without an error message.
This happens almost every time 2nd, I try to start the laptop.

I know this isn't a lot of information but I don't have any newspapers, or something that I can help you.
    Concerning

You are right. There isn't a lot of information on this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is.
What is your laptop preinstalled with original OS that you got with it? I presume that the only change is upgrade SSD, right?
So if I understand you well you traded original HDD with new SSDS and original recovery image is installed.
This problem started immediately after the upgrade to SSD?
When you put the old HDD inside the same thing from happening again?

  • Freezes during the boot process

Hi, my computer is HP Pavilion Slimline s3300f desktop. Started to freeze during startup at various points all the time. And now if he charges upward it takes me directly to the Recovery Manager and it takes me to the Microsoft system recovery. Does that mean that my hard drive has failed? And all the lost data?
And what should I do gel?
    Please help and thank you!

    Hello mastasergio,

You have a few ongoing issues.

A system is damaged and must be reinstalled. The hard drive is probably fine, however the data on the hard drive (OS) are not. Run the system recovery and recover your computer in a State of system costs.

If you were not backup your data, it can be lost.

What you need to do if you were not backup your data is to remove the hard drive of the computer and add it as a slave on another computer disc. Copy all the important files on the hard drive and save them elsewhere temporarily until you can reinstall the operating system on the HARD drive.

  • Tecra A11 - 113 - white screen and the cursor of the mouse during the boot

    Hello

My Toshiba Tecra A11-113 with win 7 32 bit boots with a mouse cursor and the visible white screen.
I tried to start under different boot options. Mode, safemode, last repair job configuration
and msdos command only... all these startup options give the same result.

I also tried with win 7 32 bit dvd, but same result.

I am able to access the C drive by booting with a linux key, so the data is visible.

Can someone please give me a solution?

    Thank you

What happens if you access the BIOS? Is menu visible on-screen BIOS?
Turn on the unit F2 button and press.
This should allow you to access the BIOS.

If you will be able to access the BIOS and see everything as usual, then the screen is OK and I think there is a problem with your installation of Windows System.
So boot from the Toshiba Recovery disk should help you solve this problem.

You said that you already tried to boot from the Windows DVD disc is this Toshiba Recovery disk? In my opinion, you use this disk to restore the laptop to factory settings.

  • Satellite C660 missing LAN during the boot of Win7

    Hello

We have a number of C660 and until last week, we've hidden a minimum of problems with it.

Now that we are living something very strange.

A couple of laptops, we lost the LAN when it is started in Windows 7.

Someone else has had this problem and don't know a solution?

    Thank you
    Benji

    Hello

Do you mean that your network card is not visible in the Device Manager or what?

Usually if no network cable is connected to the LAN plug, the system disables the network adapter LAN to extend the operating time of the battery.

+ The network adapter is missing in Device Manager.

  • HP Pavilion 23: computer hangs during the boot process

Computer updates been made 2 days ago and has frozen black screen. Now does not start at the top. Starts the process and then freezes. He did start once yesterday and was going well for a few hours, then got a message saying computer had a problem.

    Error message:

    SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (atikmdag.sys)

Now back to not start upward again, hangs with the HP logo on the screen.

    Hi there @ldgie25.

That the Forums are with you!  I understand that, after a few updates, your computer does not start correctly and freezes on the HP logo.   I'm happy to help you with this.

Since it was started once, but then had a blue error screen, I suggest using the computers HP - use Microsoft System Restore (Windows, 10, 8).   Follow the instructions in the section «restore your computer when Windows is unable to boot normally»  See if it will start normally after the restoration. If yes then you probably want to prevent the offending update to install again.

Please see the following for how to do this:

How to temporarily prevent an update for driver reinstallation of Windows 10 - support.microsoft.com

How to uninstall and updates to block and drivers on Windows 10 - howtogeek.com

Please let me know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

  • No internet connection AFTER startup, but only works during the boot.

    Hi all

Have a Win XP MCE (Media Center Edition) Dell laptop running.  I can only connect to internet when the system is even start, and I click on the shortcut to IE or Firefox. Once the system completes the startup it connects me to the internet WITHOUT problem & with good signal and good connection speeds.  System connect wirelessly through a Linksys router.

If I left the initialization of the system ended up - and I'm trying to connect to IE or Firefox - the hourglass appears for a minute and then disappears and I get no connection!

This means that I must always start the internet connection while system is always initialize, and if I end the connection I get only back to restart system in place and opening connection when appear the icons on the desktop for IE or Firefox!

I am puzzled by this and have no idea what to do to solve the problem!
    TNX a lot!

    Hello

    • What were the changes made before the issue occur?

Verify that if the problem exists in Mode safe mode with networking, if the computer works as expected in mode safe mode with networking, and then we can solve the problem in the clean boot state.
    a. refer to the article below for the procedure safe mode in Windows XP
A description of the options to start in Windows XP Mode
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315222

    b. it is a possibility that there is a startup program that is launched with a command line and it appears.
You need to perform a clean boot to find the program that is causing and then disable or remove.
