Local security configuration DCOM blocked me as an administrator. Many functions of Windows do not work

Dell Optiplex 745, XP Pro, SP3. The computer is 3 years, 3 G of Ram. Fully secure and clean.

This is what appears in the local security settings, Security Options: DCOM: Machine Access: 0:BAG: BAD:

I am an administrator and the main user of this computer. Most of Windows functions do not work IE, Office, Outlook, Security Essentials, copy & paste, all dead. Will not allow downloads (Dell has tried to put a remote meeting and the computer won't do anything. No system restore, I tried Safe Mode, can not access user accounts. I'm stuck on my computer. Dell says it's a problem of Ms.

I can't open my documents. Word does not. Excel does not open. I use this computer for work and have important files that will not open.

Goggling BAG: BAD brought me an article of the millisecond that changed the security system. I tried the directions and will not work. I hope someone understands what I'm trying to explain. Dell offers a complete reinstallation of XP, but I'm afraid that I lose my documents, pictures, music.

I don't know what caused it, that happened this week, I don't know how to fix it. System Restore is a white screen. Can not open anything or run analyses "access denied" or the product is not registered. I get all sorts of errors.

Please advise,

Jane

Hi Jane,

Follow the steps below:

Method 1: Scan files (SFC) system auditor

Make the SFC scan on your computer and check to see if that solves the problems.

See the Description of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 System File Checker (Sfc.exe) for instructions.

Method 2: Repair install

Perform a repair of Windows XP installation to fix the problem.

For instructions, see the following article:

Perform a repair Installation

If it is not necessarily - free SAS, but if all were fine with your computer (and it's not!), you should not have installed SAS because MSE includes a component of anti-malware.

Should I install the [definitions optional updates offered by Windows Update MSE]?

You pouvez install them but this is not necessary - assuming that MSE is installed & working properly... but I suspect that this is NOT the case!  See this FAQ: http://answers.microsoft.com/thread/74e507b8-f6da-4eca-8ce7-d1aca7d3f1ba

[Microsoft] Security Essentials is related to the Security Center?

Yes. Security Center monitors the status of the firewall, automatic updates and Protection against malware (anti-virus & anti-malware; applications i.e. Microsoft Security Essentials).

Translation: Since the Security Center still cannot be permanently turned on, there is a very good chance that MSE and Windows Firewall will not work correctly - despite the fact that we have now managed to get the computer fully patched to Windows Update and despite the multi-step fix, I had to make.

In your case, there are several possible causes for this behavior:

    1. your McAfee subscription and/or your previous subscription of Norton AntiVirus may have expired before that you did something;

    2. do not run the remove McAfee & Norton tools at the right time; or...

If these procedures are outside your technique "comfort zone" - and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea - take the local computer, reputable and independent (i.e., not a 'BigBoxStore' or Geek Squad!) computer repair shop & let them do the work.

IMHO your computer must NOT be connected to the internet or local area network (i.e. other computers) in its current state. All your personal data (e.g., banking online & passwords credit card) must be considered at risk, if not already compromised.

  • File server for Windows does not work after security update

I just upgraded the security update that was released last week and all of a sudden the computers windows cannot access the server. I'm under 10.11.6 and everything was great until we started windows computers today. They can ping and access the internet, but they cannot access SMB on the server.

Macs have no connection problems in the SMB and AFP.

Any ideas, what has changed? Users of server are all still there and it seems like it should work. I can access the web page of servers too.

Make sure you are including the domain in the user name when signing in. for example USER: groupe_travail

Also, check that your windows machine has the correct set of LM compatibility level. For El Cap servers must be set to 3.

Follow the instructions below to change the Windows security settings to allow Windows SMB connections.

    1. Click on the Start button and in the bottom search bar, type regedit . Select search results regedit and the registry opens.
    2. Using the folders on the left side of the screen, navigate through the tree to the following location: \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
    3. In the right window, find the following DWORD value: LmCompatibilityLevel . If it exists, double-click it and set the value to 3 (in decimal).  If it does not exist, right-click in an empty space in the right part of the window and create a new DWORD value called LmCompatibilityLevel and set its value to 3 (in decimal).
    4. Restart the computer.
    5. Re-try to connect to the server via the workstation.

NOTE: The versions Home of windows may not the ability to set the LM, and unfortunately I have not found a way around that.

  • Call Blocker for BB Q10 and Q10 BlackBerry Call Recorder does not work

It's quite funny how when you pay for the apps will not longer work.  I got call blocking for well over a year waiting for them that they told me that I must have 10.3 or higher to be able to use its features.  Well guess what I've been updated 10.3.1.1865 with OS 10.3.1.2708 and it does not block calls.  Call Recorder when free works well, but as soon as I paid for it and upgraded to the pro version it would not record the sound went dead silent.  If anyone has had these problems when trying to get intouch with developers is useless, because no one will send to you.

Call Blocker is developed by Ajani Info Tech version 1.0.2.17 and Call Recorder is developed by appsforbb version 2.0.0.1.  Sure would like to hear from anyone with the same problems or solutions because it's frustrating.  Thank you.

Just trying to see if there is someone who has a solution before I go to my service provider to request a refund, but thanks for the help but would still see if anyone has experienced the same problems and have got a solution.  If this isn't the case, I'll go through my supplier for a refund.

  • W7 UAC & local security policy blocks the access of the drive to install W7

The UAC setting is blocking access to the W7 installation disc and reports error Code: Ux80070005; Retail "user access is denied."

  • Time capsule 'unexpected error' despite the reset and the IPv6 local link configuration

    Hello

I try to use a time capsule that I have not used for a long time to backup my mac.

I have adware on chrome and safari that I cannot get rid of (trovi) despite several attempts (extensions, resets etc.)

I decided to upgrade to el capitan, so that I could use software removal that does not work on Lion, but now I can't save because time capsule gives me "error unexpecetd".

I have reset the TC and I configured link-local IPv6, but am still having the same problem.

Anyone know if it is a question can be resolved?

    Thank you!

It is possible that software that you download to help get rid of the adware etc... blocking the work TM... affects a lot of bad a antivirus software on Mac OS. McAfee is one of the worst.

What operating system are you currently using?

There is no need to upgrade... but it is necessary to clean install.

Download and use Carbon Copy Cloner. You can use it for free for a month... I highly recommend you do the backup on a USB key connected to the Mac, so it can be made bootable... and then can be tested immediately.

You can use the TC and the backup to that... but you can't boot from network drives.

I can recommend you to do a clean install... just wipe the mac and start again... It's extremely better than any software removal tools.

  • What happens if a password or authorization is required for a "interactive logon to the local security for domain policy or..?

I use a pc at home on my wireless router which is password protected.  Under the local security policy, if enable password to access interactive domain requirement, what happens?  [Activate: interactive logon: requires authorization by domain controller...] I block someone tries to access my pc via a domain or I will block my access?  I use windows 8 and windows 7 HP, (different PC)

    Hi Laurie,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

According the information you have provided, I understand that you need information about the interactive logon to the local security for the domain policy. I will certainly give you with this information.

Logon information must be provided to unlock a locked computer. For domain accounts, this security setting determines whether a domain controller must be contacted to unlock a computer. If this setting is disabled, a user can open the computer using cached credentials. If this setting is enabled, a domain controller must authenticate the domain account used to unlock the computer.

  • No menu item of the Security Configuration on the switch of the device for ExternalEmbeddedDevice

Despite the use of NullAuthenticationProvider works as expected, I would try to sign a request (minimum profile) and deploy it in my RaspberryPi, but according to guide installation and Applications running on the Pi Board of raspberry , I'm stuck in the method #1, Point 8, since in the window selector device whenever I do a right-click on EmbeddedExternalDevice no article "Security Configuration... '. "is displayed in the context menu. Of these elements is frequently seen by the same operation on other devices (EmbeddedDeviceX and Qualcom_IoE_Device).

    Any idea?

It seems a manual edit of _policy.txt is only an option for the RPi. The documentation is not in this part. EmbeddedDeviceX and Quacomm_IoT_Device are the emulators where all configuration files are on local and accessible file system since SDK.Netbeans.

  • Server security configurations

    Hi all

I am trying to set up an environment view of the Horizon for external connectivity. I need your help in making sure I do correct.

Do I need two network cards in the server security? One in the DMZ network (192.168.1.x) and the other in Network (192.168.2.x) internal?

Public IP address - provided by the ISP

Public domain FULL name - myview.company.com

    Security Server - Hostname:viewss 192.168.1.100

Connection to the server - FQDN 192.168.2.100 internal CS: viewcs.company.local

    While Installing Security Server I'm filling the fields as below;

    Matched login server: viewcs.company.local

    Server VMware security configurations:

    External Url: Https://myView.company.com:443

PCoIP External url: public IP address

    In display the view connection Server Configurations;

    External Url: Https://myView.company.com:443

PCoIP External url: public IP address

    Is the above correct?

To open ports: 443 and 4172? Y at - it of the other ports to open like 80?

Please guide me in this process and thank you very much for your help.

    T

    This configuration is correct.

Internal users can use Https://viewcs.company.local:443 and Https://myview.company.com:443external users.

You can also use the same FQDN for both internal and external connections, relying on the DNS configuration.  External DNS resolves the FULL domain name to the public IP address and internal DNS solves the same FQDN of the internal IP address.

Hi, I've updated my Windows XP all current updates. But I still need this local security policy.

Is there a specific link for this download, or should I look elsewhere - other than the administrative tools?

Windows XP Home Edition is not local security policy.  This requires Windows XP Professional.

What should you change?  There could be another way to do it.
