Location for SYSPREP for P2V?

Hello

We install Converter Standalone on a Windows 7 workstation.

When we go through the Setup Wizard, there is an information saying that the SYSPREP file must be located at a particular place on this workstation with installed stand-alone converter.

We wonder where the SYSPREP file will be used?   I believe that the SYSPREP must be used when you start the virtual machine and SYSPREP will be parked to vCenter Server.  Or SYSPREP is required for the P2V process?

Thank you

Hello

Please find the location of sysprep.

  • If you have vCenter Server installed on Windows Server 2008 and above, directory_path is%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\Sysprep which usually translates default toC: \ProgramData\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\Sysprep.

Note: C:\ProgramData may be a hidden folder.

  • VCenter Server installed on another operating system Windows, directory_path is%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\Sysprep\, which translates generally OCD: \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\Sysprep\by by default.

The article below gives an idea just to istall sysprep.

The same drive letter may point to different locations for different processes?

Our users have the E: drive mapped to one place. But I need a scheduled task in order to use the E: drive to point to a different location at the same time, without affecting the mapping of moose for logged in users.

There is no work around this need of ours. This is because users are working 24 X 7 update of our data files on the E: drive, and a log file is made. We plan prevent users for a minute every night while move us / save the log file and then allow users of the resume and allow a new log file to create. Then take the saved log file and apply it to a real set of monthly backup of data files, so the backup files will be ready for a recovery after disaster. The program that applies the transactions recorded in the data files is able to apply operations to files that are considered as being in the same exact location.

I know that's not possible without resorting to the application logs a set of files on a completely different machine. But I ask.

  • Cannot specify a different location for multiple-image backups.

I want to record several image files on an external drive (which can contain a large amount of data)... It was suggested to specify a different location for the second image... but when I run the process of backup image... first a screen shows my external drive where the image will be stored... but then the screens seem to just continue to do a backup. I don't see any place where I can change the location of the image... It keeps on the re-write on the last saved... image I think that maybe you can change the location of the regular backups... but not for the image file... its on another screen or buried somewhere... the help screen with "attention, images can be replaced" is meaningless for me... I thought he said that it would only replace old images if there is not enuf room on the disc.

    thanx

With this option, below is where you can make changes.
Select the drive to destination or optical disk or network location to store backup files. (this is where I want to change the destination directory name).

If please reply back and let us know if this helps answer your question.

  • Possible to send location for BlackBerry maps using the cards: / / URI?

I was wondering, since we can launch BlackBerry maps maps: / / is there a way that we could send a location for maps of the URL?

    As maps://Kingston-Upon-Hull

You can use ' geo:,' uri without the ' / /'.

For example, this url should get you close to where I live:

  • Left custom catalog location for assessable catalogues to all users and can not find catalog.pse13db

I upgraded from PSE6 to PSE13.  PSE6 on my old computer and PSE13 on my new computer.  I did a backup of the catalog PSE6 on an external drive.  Then I restored the catalogue PSE6 to my external hard drive at a location on my new hard drive and made my conversion catalogue 13.  I got a new catalog name is-1 extension in the location custom in my Catalog Manager.  I then left the new catalogue - 1 "custom location" to "Catalogs available to all users" because I didn't know that he was wrong in this catalogue.  When I moved the catalog "Catalogs available to all users" I have lost my catalog.pse13db file.  He is no longer on my hard drive.  It was not on my external drive is (I thought it would be there but checked even when not).  Why my pse13db disappeared and where at - it go?  There must be somewhere on the closing and reopening of PSE13 I'm able to open my new catalog-1 'catalogues available to all users "?  I don't think I'd be able to do unless he has been pulling the catalog.pse13db?

By default, the default location for the catalogues (available to all users) is a "hidden" in Windows Explorer folder. To be able to see the 'catalog.pse13db' file in the catalog folder, you must set Windows Explorer to show hidden folders and files.

  • Default location for pictures of the store iprocurement

    Hello

    We are implementing iprocurement.

What is the default location for image bank iprocurement.

In our case the POR profile option: hosted Images directory is empty.

If it is empty, which is the default location.

Is it a good idea to map profile POR option: directory of Images hosted at /OA_MEDIA/

    Kind regards

    Anita

/OA_MEDIA/ is a virtual directory and points $OA_MEDIA path on the server.

If you have access to Oracle Application Server, and then follow these steps. Or ask your DBA application the following steps and give you the path of directory.

    1. open a new terminal session > log in as 'applmgr.

    2. install the application environment by running the file ".env' application.

    3. simply type echo $OA_MEDIA. The returned path is the path of the virtual directory of/OA_MEDIA /.

If you are about R12.2 or higher then the output will be something like this - / u01/oracle/SCREWS/fs1/EBSapps/comn/java/classes/oracle/apps/media. When the SCREW is the context and the fs1 is the base application directory direct environment.

  • Sharing location for catalogue and RPD on a linux installation

    Hello

I am planning to do evolve horizontally an OBIEE 11.1.1.1.7 install and need to provide a location for the shared catalog and RPD by the Oracle documentation. Currently, the documentation refers to an example of installation of Windows in which you specify a UNC path in the EM console. All the world did this on a Linux installation? I need to set up a system of local files first to point to our NAS share?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Kind regards

    K.A.

Yes, you need to mount the NAS between your linux servers, so this way you can place the RPD and the catalog and the cache in a path shared by creating folders and copy these files here, and even set in EM.

  • What is the default location for the cache?

I made the mistake to change my default location for the cache for Adobe Bridge and now I want to change it back... but I can not find the folder or know the path.

    Hi lorenkahle

    • Navigate to C:\Users\"Your user name' \AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge CC\Cache (Windows)

    / User/Library/Caches/Adobe Bridge CC/Cache / (MAC)

Bridge Cache in the Cache folder.

You can set it to this place

    • If this does not help, you can reset bridge default preferences that will change the location of the cache.

For so press and hold the CTRL, ALT, Shift (Windows) / Cmd + Option + Shift (MAC) during the start-up of bridge and make check reset preferences, and then click Ok

  • change default location for new virtual machines programmatically

Where exactly is stored?  I don't see in the registry.

WS does not use the registry to store settings.

Set the path in UNK for each user:

  • Preferred solution for P2V (vCenter Converter or VEEAM)

I am analyzing and is about to convert a list of the physical servers in vmware VMs and I was wondering what is the best solution to use. Use vCenter Converter or VEEAM? I want to know what most people use out there and all the pros and cons with each of them.

    Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, Veeam does not have any tool for p2v conversion. So, in this case, you'd better stick to VMware vCenter Converter. However, once the physical VMs remaining are converted, you will need something to save them. That's exactly where Veeam can become very useful for you.

    See you soon.

  • All work for Adobe on the features to be aware of location for applications magazines?

    Hi all

I did some research in marketing opportunities based on the location for our title on the digital side, and I'm curious to know if the admin of Adobe or its users have experimented with "geofencing" or "location aware" capabilities for applications magazines. I came across a of, company of software development UK who did for some publicationsand tried this morning. (It's cool). Basically, a user gets full access to the content once that their location services indicates that they have seized a predetermined 'zone'. They also get a push notification when they enter this area. Word on the street, if it's something Adobe is looking in / has developed? We would certainly wishes to add a feature like that - or the development in a certain way with Adobe

    Thank you!

Yes, Adobe supports JavaScript geolocation API. For example, you can use these APIs in the library or store to determine where a player and filter the content on this site. Or, you can display different content in an article according to the location of the user. The free app from the DPS advice includes an example which shows the nearest seafood restaurant (DPS tips > HTML examples > Geolocation APIs).

See Getting Started with geolocation API | Adobe Developer Connection.
