location of the wireless switch?

Stupid question, but my wireless button is orange shiny instead of blue on my HP Pavilion dv5-1125nr laptop. When I try to fix it through wireless, I get the message: "this device has been disabled by the wireless button. To enable this device, press the wireless button. "Where is the wireless button? I can't find it and cannot find documentation for where he is! Thank you very much for your help!

The only stupid question is one that is not asked.

This Notebook turn User Guide indicates its location on pages 5-6. The button should be right next to amber (when off) led wireless.

    Hello

Please reinstall the Wlana driver and try again. (Do not to update to uninstall the old driver, restart the device and install the new drivers)
In most cases these disorders Wlan is displayed if the WiFi driver does not work correctly.
Given that all other laptops are ok, I think that it is a temporal matter in the registry or something like that

PS: It is possible that the FN buttons do not work corectly. Therefore, you can reinstall the VAP (value added package) and support of card Flash Utility so in order to reconfigure the FN keys.

The problem was not the bios, but the new installation of Windows that has used the wrong device.
Directly linking the R273948.exe Dell driver has not solved the problem

    I did the following steps:

    1. make sure that Bluetooth is enabled in the bios

2 removed the generic bluetooth device in Device Manager

    3. manually added the bluetooth device in Device Manager (for me it was the 365 dell bluetooth module)

4A ran update 'setupbluetoothDFu in the unpacked R273948 driver.

    5. install the driver R273948

    Hi MartinLaMarr,

    ·         What is the Blue error screen that you are talking about?

    ·         If so, have you noticed the blue screen error message?

Check to see if the following is useful.

Method 1: Unplug non-essential devices from the computer and restart the computer.

Method 2: Try to select disable automatic system failure reboot since the options of start menu advanced to know the Blue error screen.

    a. restart your computer and start pressing F8 on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured to start to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.

    b. use the arrows to choose to turn off the automatic restart in the event of system failure in the Advanced Options of Windows Start Menu and press ENTER.

Method 3: Updated with the latest wireless drivers and other drivers of devices from the portable computer. Log in the Web of Toshiba site to do.

  • Press f8 on my computer toshiba laptop is wireless. It shows the wireless is turned off and turn on the wireless switch. Where or what is this switch, please?

  • Satellite L600: How can I turn off the Wireless Communication switch?

Hello! Would be very grateful for any help... After struggling for 3 months that I finally registered here in the hope of getting help.

    I have a new Satellite L600 / Win7 Home Premium.
My question is that I don't know where the wireless switch is to turn off COMPLETELY wireless.

Whenever I start the wireless (orange) light turns on automatically.
I have to wait until finish and turn off manually by Fn + F8.

When I opened ConfigFree (or doctor of connectivity), the diagnosis on the left bottom says [STATUS"switch of Wireless Communication: WE]
This tells me that the main switch is somehow always THERE.

Twice I called Toshiba and they couldn't find it either.
They said that the new versions of the BIOS does not...? And for this model, there is no physical switch built on the PC itself.

I have looked everywhere and did the following:

    (1) disable the adapter in Device Manager.
    (2) in HWSetup, where there used to be an option to click on the switch wireless off, he's gone.
    (3) I went into the BIOS setup and could find nothing remotely related to without wireless/bluetooth to switch.

I wonder why there is a wireless laptop with light permanently? But if it is enabled, there must be a way to turn it off. Press Fn + F8 every time at startup is not a long-term solution because the risk is that I'll forget someday).

My last laptop was hacked until it's an absolute priority that I know how to disable all wireless functions. So even if I have to do through the commands, I'll try it. In addition, I do not know if anyone else experience the same thing with this model, or is it a default of my particular PC?

Any help or even experience will be much appreciated, thank you.

I disabled the card in the Device Manager.

When I opened ConfigFree, connectivity doctor tells me the Wireless Communication switch: WE

    > My question is that I cannot find where the wireless switch is to turn off COMPLETELY wireless.

There is no hardware switch that would allow to enable or disable the WiFi network.
WLan can be turned on and off using the FN + F8 key combination.

    > When I open ConfigFree (or doctor of connectivity), the diagnosis on the left bottom says STATUS\ ' Wireless Communication switch: on it tells me the main switch is somehow always WE.

What is the status of the WLAN if you check in network connections?
The WiFi network is always on?
If not then the WiFi connection turned off and I wouldn't be worried by the fact that ConfigFree says that it s THERE.

Of course, you can disable the wireless network adapter in Device Manager. Just mark the Wlan card under network adapters and turn off your device. But believe me; It s enough to do using FN + F8 ;)

  • ConfigFree on Satellite A80: wireless switch is OFF, when its actually

I've seen several comments on this problem, none of them is resolved.
I'm running an A80. Until I updated the driver wireless and Configfree, Configfree has worked well.
Now, however, no matter what I do, any driver, I installed, or what version of Configfree, now they all insist that the wireless to cut when it is indeed running.
Everything except the Radar works very well. Even now, I am connected to the wireless network.
However - by selecting the Configfree Radar showed the error message
"Wireless is disabled. Please activate the wireless communication switch.

It drives me crazy. I spent three days on this problem. I guess that's not really necessary, because it is only a display - but I want it to work! :-)
I am a very experienced user, but this one is difficult. because I suspect its software based really.
I can't believe that in the world, with many people to see this problem, that Toshiba does not found the difinitive this problem cause and posted a fix.

    In summary.
With original features such as pronounced - it worked and displayed near the wireless stations.

After the upgrade to the latest drivers wireless and Configfree - Configfree actually works but WILL NOT operate the Radar, because he insists on the fact that the wireless switch is DISABLED, when in fact it is powered.

I tried everything, including the FN + F8 - which also seems to be unresponsive. But it could be another problem, I hope. Not interested in this, because the wireless is still on.

If anyone has a solution that works, I'd love to hear about it.
    Thank you
    Robert

    Hello, Robert

In my opinion ConfigFree is one of the best utilities offered by Toshiba. This utility is pre-installed, I think, on all models of laptops Windows XP Home edition, and I can't imagine that there is a bug.

All of the tools and utilities that you can find in recovery image is suitable for each model of laptop, tested and I really can't imagine that such bug may be there. It is very interesting that you wrote on update. Sorry but I checked the original version and the version offered on the Toshiba download page, and they are absolutely identical (ConfigFree V5.00.45).

I use two Toshiba laptops, both with WXP and I use the CofigFree version that is included in the recovery image. It works perfectly and I see no reason for update (if this update exists, but I don't believe that).

So it will be interesting to know what version of ConfigFree you use and where you have founded an update. Please be so kind and give us more information about this update.

Maybe a few links to other multiple posts may also be useful.
