Locking in AWR errors

Hello

yesterday a fix has been applied in 11.2.0.2 If Oracle Support for a bug, we faced. But today we faced a massive performance problem in the database about lock contention. Compared to AWR my during the previous day, logical reads also rose 5 times if the load was the same. Kindly help.

When I check my "ordered by gets Section SQL ', all queries on my table increases by a factor of 10 (for example 18 k gets by performance yesterday become 140 k gets by performance today). Coupled with the fact that a key on the table query has executed only 500 times yesterday and 10000 times today. This query is executed every time a response is required from the front.

Thus, the number of executions has increased by a factor of 20 and the number of receives a performance has increased by a factor of 8 - what anomaly will give you the best reduction of workload, if you can stop what is happening? Conversely - Gets an increase COULD be due to a change in the execution plan, in order to check plan yesterday today against (I use script $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/awrsqrpt); If not, is there an UPDATE (delete or insert) on the table which is now also past 20 times more often, if so, gets the increase COULD be gets against the rollback segment as a session does more work for generating consistent images in reading, in order to check the activity of the forum stats on "undo records applied.

PS: Restorations per second were similar compared to these two days. Applied patch was also 10093383.

Look at the stat "rollback changes - undo records applied" to see if cancellations are "real" or whether a restore 'no' non-essential radiation of the intermediate layer.

    Original title: Locking XP!

    I tried to read all the relevant messages and walked the Earth for this solution, if someone could help me I would be grateful.

    A dear friend died and I got his PC - a fast XP with SP3 which (elderly) she only used for web & email. His account has been "Judi".

    I noticed a while back that, on the logon screen, that there is another user called 'Fiona' (she told me an old co-worker who probably stayed with her).

    Now a friend in need of a very old HP PC Lions not having completely fortunately I managed to copy his files before he was insane - I offered this newer PC it after that I have "set up" for him.

    I put a new account in place on this new PC "Ken" has been added. Then, after the deletion of accounts Judi & Fiona, I cleaned the machine with MalwareBytes, CCleaner & defrag.  All is well now with only Ken appearing on the screen logon (with an image of the appropriate icon), that I used several times in the implementation of his e-mail account and move its acrossetc files. His password is empty.

    Being the only user now Ken, I thought that it strange would its user (only) one click each time to the 'Log in', so I searched and found a box that said something to the effect «... do not show a picture of connection...» » .  That started my problem!  Removing his login "icon" brings ONLY the following - FIONA!

    When connecting a Logon Message now says "the system could not log. Make sure your username and domain are correct, then type your password again.  Letters in passwords must be typed using the proper case" the choice for this error message is 'OK', which takes you to a login screen 'Type Win98' older Classic looking (no icon user) who was behind this logon Message, with (name) Fiona appears on the login screen (former) (full name and empty below the password) , with the choice to enter the password or a stop!

    Of course the password cannot be guessed (Yes - tried blank, admin, etc.) so the only choice is to stop.

    VA F8 at startup for 'Safe mode' goes to screen black WITH Fiona login screen as usual safe mode above and booting with the CD using NTPASSWD shows the usual 1) Administrator 2) 3) invited Ken and 4) Support Microsoft - NO FIONA is shown - and I put all these passwords to 'empty '. Of course repair and recovery repair 'R' does nothing on the removal of Fiona

    This translates the original message & Fiona connection again.  How can I return to screen "image icon" connection without losing files and mail Ken Ken. Where Fiona could hide when it is not a USER of the NET?

    Yet once again, I'd appreciate any help. Brian.

    You should be able to just select (click on) "Fiona", press the delete key, and then type any desired account name.  It doesn't work?

    If you cannot type on "Fiona" in the logon window, you can use the following procedure to modify the Windows registry... or you can take the computer to an independent repairer and ask them to fix it for you.  Don't go to a chain of stores, as a "geek squad" or BigBoxStoreUSA type of place.

    Go here--> https://www.raymond.cc/blog/how-to-edit-windows-registry-key-values-without-booting-in-windows/

    Choose method 1 or method 2.  I'm familiar with Hiren (method 2), but not with the program described in method 1 (even though it seems simple).  Any ISO file you choose, I suggest to download and use ImgBurn (free) to create your CD bootable from the downloaded ISO file.

    The registry key to change is in the same place as "userinit" (which is the example used in the article), so to follow 1-5 step method or method 2 for step 7.

    You will be at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

    In the right pane of the registry editor, you will see a large list of items.  Scroll down the page until you see LogonType and double-click it.

    In the "Value data" box, type 1, and click OK (1 is the same either hexadecimal or decimal).

    Close the registry editor, take the CD from the drive and reboot.  You should see the Welcome screen when Windows restarts.

    A few resets require you to enter key combinations to open special menus on your printer that you were supposed to never access.  These special menus are used by developers and staff support for debugging of problems, but they are not intended for inexperienced users and can have unexpected results.  A wrong button push and you might no longer have a printer, but rather an expensive paper weight.  On top of that, if you happen to the 'brick' the printer in this way, it is considered as customer induced damage and voids the warranty automatically. These resets are only intended to be distributed and used as a last resort and under the direct instruction of a representative of the HP technical support. They should not be made lightly!

  • DBMS_LOCK question - can not relase a different session locking.

    Hello

    I'm using ORACLE DATABASE 11 g. I use a default package from the oracle: -.

    DBMS_LOCK

    I'm trying to acquire a LOCK with this procedure, then release after its done.

    To ACQUIRE lock we use: -.
    DBMS_LOCK.ALLOCATE_UNIQUE (p_lockname,lockhandle,5);
    DBMS_LOCK.REQUEST(lockhandle,6,p_timeout);
    For LOCK of LIBERATION that we use: -.
    DBMS_LOCK.ALLOCATE_UNIQUE (p_lockname,lockhandle,5);
    DBMS_LOCK.RELEASE(lockhandle);
    The main problem is that I tried to the end of the database. Here are the steps I followed: -.

    (1) connect to SESSION 1
    (2) ACQUIRED a lock on the object - Got "0" (zero) in return which means funtion has run successfully and I acquired the lock.
    3) being in the same session I tried to RELEASE the lock. Once again he returned me '0' and lock went out with success.

    In this big way all worked. When I changed the session to release the lock, I got error. Here are the steps: -.

    (1) connect to SESSION 1
    (2) ACQUIRED a lock on the object - Got "0" (zero) in return which means funtion has run successfully and I acquired the lock.
    (3) disconnect from SESSION 1.
    (4) to connect to the SESSION 2
    (5) have tried to release the LOCK, but this time the function has returned - "4" (four), who says that you are not the owner of the lock, so you can not release.

    Each time, I am connected and working with the same username, just opening new sessions of different machines.

    The image is very clear that if a session lock the object the same session should release but, due to any reason if the session has gotten so closed is their method, we can release the lock on this object. Begin in the other session if I run
    select * from sys.dbms_lock_allocated where name not like 'ORA$%';

    NAME                   LOCK ID            EXPIRATION
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    CB001201261     1073743231     3/1/2012 3:07:02 PM
    ZZZ2011322     1073743358     3/1/2012 8:04:19 PM
    Now, I see here that these objects are locked some other session but I can't release them.

    Please just guide me how can I RELEASE locks on objects ACQUIRED in a different session.
    Also if I can know which of the session to which this LOCK got ACQUIRED.

    Thanks in advance.

    As I said alreadyy, look in DBA_LOCK for a type of lock "PL/SQL locked user.

    The session id will be there, you can look in v$ session for the series # as well.

  • 7 days old Satellite L630 - 16L crashes without reason

    Hi all

    First post!, my new Core I3 Satellite L630 - 16L (win 7 home prem 64-bit) seems to be freezing at least once a day (it seems to be only after that he was awakened fashion 'sleep' - after having closed the lid) he works when awake for about 10-15 minutes then everything freezes and have to shut down and restart?

    All the drivers are current and only toshiba newsletter I find near this lock upward / gel error refers to a driver problem for a fingerprint reader - who doesn't have this model!

    Any ideas? I have not really loaded well could try a system restore, but I don't think its related software!

    Will disable the "sleep mode" for now to see if I still have the problem tomorrow. (seems to be once a day, usually just at the moment where the navigation - not doing anything whatsoever in the background and not on a particular site, just move the mouse, it locks! I need to then press the power button / stop for 3 seconds - weird!)

    Thanks in advance
    Stephen

    Hey Buddy,

    > Will disable the "sleep mode" for now to see if I still have the problem tomorrow.
    And what's happening now? Do you have any news about this?

    If it doesn t work I would still try a recovery facility disk recovery and HARD drive recovery system. It s worth a try because this problem might be software related

    One more thing: do you have installed the latest version of the BIOS?

  • Multithreading and interactions with instruments

    I have to start by saying that I'm not a great programmer. I build an instrument that requires a computer interface, and I learned how to program at the time of writing the program, for most documentation work (which means I have re-written program one half package of time I learned new things like how to define data structures and so on).

    My question is about multithreading - in my application, I use the GUI to write a series of instructions, and then I press a "Start button" which loads the instructions on a Board that interprets and outputs some call digital logic by the precisely. In addition, if specified, the button 'start' begins a task DAQmx that takes a trigger of my Board and acquires data. As these scans can take a long time, it is better for me to run in a separate thread. I also try to run an additional thread that queries the Board of Directors for its status - if it is running, waiting for a trigger or stop - and updates a control LED to reflect the State periodically. The problem I have is that programming function, the Board of Directors and the audit of the State function has some overlap, which I imagine is the reason why I'm the General Protection faults.  I read on the Thread hangs and Thread-Safe queues, but those who seem to be especially on the transmission of data between threads. Ideally I would be able to make sure that two threads do not call the same function at the same time - how would implement this?

    In addition, I don't know if it is a problem of the two threads calling the same function at the same time (I dunno if it of a problem or not), or if the problem is the fact that when I call these functions, they need to access the USB interface and there may be some sort of conflict between them.  I'm really hitting a wall here because I think that I don't have a solid understanding of the operation of allocation memory and battery function.

    Hi Paul, from your description, it seems very likely that you have problems with contemporary access to the same resource from multiple threads, which could explain the GPF you receive.

    Thread locks are a common way to handle such situations, because they can allow a single thread to protect it from another thread any access to the shared resource.

    Locks are used is:

    1 create a lock before you need to use it (possibly at the start of the program)

    2. when a thread needs to access the USB port to communicate with the instrument, it must call CmtGetLock to block access from other threads: If the lock is free, it is acquired by the threads. If it is already owned by another thread, the thread waits on the CmtGetLock until the bolt is free

    3. once a lock is finished using the shared resource, it must call CmtReleaseLock to permitt the access to the resource from other threads

    4. at the end of the program, destroy the lock

    If you do not want to stay frozen in CmtGetLock of a thread there is a function in the library if the lock is free or not, so that you can stay in a loop waiting for the lock to be free, but with the wire still alive and able to continue its work (still without access to the shared resource (, of course).

    It is crucial that acquired locks are always released, otherwise the other threads will be permanently excluded from access to the shared resource: this review is particularly important when adding threads management, because you must be sure to release locks acquired even errors, when a policy of the commune is to jump to a label inside the error handling function and it is possible that a lock is held acquired errors.

  • Vista has stopped turning the games run for a long time.

    Vista has stopped turning the games run for a long time. The display would go crazy and the sytem would lock. Gotta make a stop with the power button. No errors are recorded. I re-installed the game. Same thing. I reinstalled Vista 64. Same thing. I get about 3 minutes in the game and then locking the. 1 single game still work (BioShock2). COD - MW2 and COD MW lock the sytem. One is direct install, and the other is the steam. I have a video card Nvidia GTX 280 with the latest drivers from Microsoft. Before the reinstall, I tried to install the most recent NVIDIA. Did not help. Yet the locks without showing error. About half of the time it stops at my off video card a few seconds after that the display goes crazy. BioShock uses DirectX 10, and others use DirectX 11. I read on some sites that 11 causes the video crashes on some systems. I want to know is why 11 is working for so long and stop NOW. Is there a way to make the games all run on 10? COD BlackOPS crashes too. I played ALL these games over and over again until the last 3 weeks. If there was some error to post logs I would but there is not. Any suggestions on where to find some kind of problem that could cause this? The video card was removed, cleaned and put back into the computer. Still crashes. 1 in 4 of the games will take place without any problems. 3 will be blocking of the computer and the video trash in 3 minutes or less to start the game. The video is great, until blocking.

    Suggestions on how to fix or where to additional troubleshooting for the cause will be greatly appreciated.

    Try running the memory and the hard drive scan to make sure that both are good.

    Hi everyone, first user at the time of the Forum from HP Support here.

    Unfortunately, in the past few days I had a Caps Lock LED blink error on my laptop, and suggestions I've read about or been advised to perform so far, have not solved the problem (that is 'hard' or 'forced' is reset, reinstall RAM/HDD, remove the CMOS battery for a while, try a battery without adapter sector/charger plugged test on the adapter sector/charger without a battery connected) etc.)

    When I turn on the laptop, I can hear the fan, but not the rotation of the HDD, the power led is on (white), the WLAN light is in standby (red), Caps Lock flashes once every 2 seconds or so, the HARD drive activity light is on (i.e. no flashing)

    It seems that there is a material error which is at best going to be hard staring at me. Now, I try to get my hands on a new or renovated motherboard, or I just put it to experience and get a new laptop (equivalent regardless of today's) keep some parts of this forum? • Paper on HP Deskjet 3845 jam is cleared, BUT

    I can't print anything.  I tried a full reset according to the instructions from HP, but my PC still reads a paper jam.   What should do?

    UNINSTALL AND REINSTALL THE PRINTER. AND RESTART WINDOWS BEFORE DOING THIS.  Windows can "lock in" an error in the memory of a device, which indicate a problem when there are more.

    After having re-installed the device, shut down windows to remove the error message from the devices memory space.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 not low ink printing

    I have printer HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909g all-in-one wireless.  I use laptop computers with Windows XP 32-bit, and Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

    I received an error message "Unable to print" - replace the following ink cartridge to resume printing (HP 940 M).  I replaced the single cartridge and all the cartridges and still have the error message.  I thought that maybe the Magenta Ink Cartridge, I bought was the problem and I tried another new cartridge of ink Magenta.  The error message was always the same.

    I followed the "solving a problem" to "replace following the empty ink cartridge after I installed a new cartridge.

    I even replaced the printhead to see if it would fix it, but no resolution.  Before replacing the print head, I could see the ink levels and he would show levels of ink full and empty intermittently.  Now it is blocked by the error on the screen and neither will meet press OK and continue.

    This could be the cause of this error message?  You have a solution?  Is that all I can try to correct this error message?

    Dennis

    It sounds like the problem of reading ink cartridges could be caused by a bug in the firmware of the printer. There are a few things you can try to clear the glitch. First of all, make sure that you have the latest firmware installed in the printer. I'll link the instructions below. If the problem is still there after that, try to do a hard and partial reset. Do the hard reset first and if that does not work, proceed to the partial reset. If none of that works, the printer is locked on the error and must be replaced.
