  I am running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. I use Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware for a while and we had no problems with the software.

  I tried to start the Windows Firewall service for the last couple days. After some research (with no response), I tried several steps.

  Evertime I try to turn on the Windows Firewall through Control Panel, I get this error:

  "Windows Firewall cannot change some of your settings.

  0x8007042c error code. »

  First, I checked the Services. This is what I found.

  -Windows Firewall (automatic)

  -Engine of Filtring basis (Auto)
  -Windows Firewall authorization driver (missing)

  Then I tried sfc/scannow in a prompt (run as administrator). This was the result.

  "Start system analysis.  This process will take time.

  Start of the phase of verification of the scanning system.
  Full check of 100%.

  Windows resource protection found no violation of integrity. »

  Then, I went in the management of the computer and found that Windows Firewall authorization driver has a yellow top brand scream icon. Right click and clicking on properties gave this:

  Then I tried these commands in the same command prompt, with the results listed after each command:

  I have found wshelper.dll in C:\Windows\System32 (20KO) and folders C:\Windows\SysWOW64 (15KO), as mpsdrv.sys in the folder C:\Windows\System32\drivers (75.5 KB).

  It is all the information that I recall gathering at this time.

  Thank you all, but I got it working again. It seems to be related to the Google redirect virus. I downloaded ComboFix and it got rid of the problem.

  I am running XP Service Pack 3 and were unable to access the Windows Update page for a few weeks now. I get an error message saying that "Internet Explorer can not locate the page". I tried several routes to access the update page, but they all fail. Analysis of virus and malware picked up nothing. I am running Internet Explorer Ver 8.

  It turns out that the problem was software malicious. After the last post, more I tried to do at least I could do: Internet Explporer wouldn't start again, I could not copy files from one drive to the other and my backup software has been disabled. I have reinstalled Windows to solve problems. Scans of my files from backup using Quick Heal has revealed the presence of Trojan.Gen, who may have let in some other bad guys. I can now access the update site.

  Hello! I found a problem with my system: when a user logs off Windows 7 x 64 session, the rest can not access the internet, until restarted network card. Reinstall NIC driver did not help. Problem appears on a built-in adapter, in the motherboard and a separate PCI card too.  Same router via its web interface is not accessible. Windows cannot automatically fix this problem after trying to diagnose a problem with his problem Diagnostic tool. After the diagnosis in the DETAILS window, MORE tests, it displays a message like this "computer remote can not receive a connection via the Internet (HTTP) Service Port". "Unplugging" a corresponding Local network connection and then reconnect solves the problem immediately. Switching between users, when two of them are connected do not cause this problem.   and thank you very much for your help! Update firmware driver and router LAN did not help me get rid of my problem, but greatly improved my experience of networking in general. Anti-virus software was not guilty, also, but! I found the "iControl" network software, installed as part of Sogiciel 'AI Suite II' (that came on the CD of motherboard ASUS driverssoftware), runnning and causing not only the problem mentioned above, but would also decrease upload speed up to 0.3 MB/s, when download passes to nearly 100 Mbps! Moreover, searching the Internet, I have found a lot of complaints about the behavior of this software, so that people watch you the occasional installation of this piece... sweet ;) As "iControl network" has been uninstalled (not only turned off in the settings of 'Ai Suite II'!), I'm totally happy with my system performance.
