"Logon windows reminder" in Windows 7 - Grrr

I am a sys admin and I want to edit or delete the "reminder of Windows logon" in the "Notification area icons" in the control panel of Windows 7 for all machines (300).  It is grayed out so I can't change it.  I can't find this particular setting in the GPO or registry.  I would also like to know how this icon even there in the first place.  I have a few machines that have this icon and some who don't.  However, all machines are configured via an image.   Thank you

Hi Mark,

I suggest you to report the issue in The Forums Pro TechNet Windows 7 IT: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/category/w7itpro/

Thank you.

  • Logon Windows 8

    Good da

Please help.my wife just bought a laptop Lenovo G50. All was well with the initial installation and only the Office installation was remarkable because of Internet access that we didn't have. After having acquired a modem and try to continue, my wife can't find the paper password, nor that I remember does not work. I cannot use the password reset as I haven't created any, nor the system asked me to.

How to open a session or reset the password to logon? Please, I'm desperate.

    Hello

"What to do if you forget your password Windows 8/8.1"

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/what-do-forget-Windows-password#1TC=Windows-8

If you have forgotten your Windows password, there are several ways to recover or reset:

    • If your PC is on a domain, your system administrator must reset your password.

    • If you use a Microsoft account, you can reset your password online. For more information, see the Web to reset your password page.

    • If you use a local account, use your index of password as a reminder.

If you've tried these suggestions and still unable to connect:

    • If you have Windows 8.1, you will need to reinstall Windows.

    • If you have Windows RT 8.1, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your PC.

I recently installed Windows 7 on my laptop and everything seemed ok. For about a week now, however, the keyboard does not work on the logon screen. So I can't send the Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys. The mouse still works and the keyboard works at boot because I am able to choose Safe mode or start windows normally. I always stopped abnormally before getting the keyboard works. What should I do?

  • G-mail logon window opens at startup (without a gmail account)

I get a gmail sign - in the popup window as soon as I start Thunderbird. I have four accounts set up for T-bird: three on my private (by Arvixe) domain and the other an ISP not associated with gmail - so I'm getting the pop up, even if I have not all gmail accounts configured to use Thunderbird. I went through all the account settings, that I can find, but I am unable to determine why the sign-in gmail is popping up. Any ideas?

  • Tecra R850-1EP: cannot use fingerprint on logon Windows 8.1

    Hello

I would update my laptop Tecra R850-1EP on windows 8.1, after an update of windows, I couldn't use the fingerprint to log my windows account.

When I'm in my session, the fingerprint will do its job, I can manage my fingerprints.

I already try to uninstall/install the fingerprint utility and drivers.

On the opening of the session, I don't have the logo of the fingerprint as as I 'can' t use

    Any idea?

    Thank you

    Hello

To be honest, I put t know exactly what's going wrong with the procedure of the fingerprint, but I guess that can be linked to the wrong update to Win 8.1
Probably, you have not exactly followed the update procedure that is recommended by Toshiba.

Here you can find the update to the Windows 8.1 EU Toshiba Web site:
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/innovation/generic/windows8_1-message/

and here you can find the [Instructions step by step to update to Windows 8.1 | http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/windows8_1-upgrade-stepbystep/]

You must follow these steps exactly in order to get the laptop works properly.

That's why I recommend you put the laptop back to factory settings and repeat the whole update process once more after the + step by step Instructions.
