lost on reinstalation__ files

I reinstalled vista. program says that all my old vista files would be put in a file marked old vista. This file is not found.

Read this windows.old folder, etc.:

If you have an installation clean back to factory settings, you normally wiped your hard drive clean during the process.

You can try this program:

http://www.SnapFiles.com/get/Recuva.html

Recuva is a file undeletion tool that allows you to analyze your hard drives or media cards for files that have been deleted or formatted. It presents you a list of files that have been found, as well as an assessment of their potential for recovery, a preview option, and a hex viewer to inspect the content. You can limit your search to files of a certain type (e.g. images, audio etc.) and choose between a quick and a thorough analysis approach. The program also includes a secure deletion option that allows you to permanently delete files that were found while parsing, to avoid any future recoveries.

    Hello

What operating system is installed on your computer?

Once removed the HDD data can't be recovered. However, you can use your favorite search engine to browse third-party data recovery software and use this software to recover data.

Note: using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk. You can also view the following link to recover lost or deleted files and try the steps:

I accidentally pressed no to back up my files when I did a full system restore to factory settings. Now, I've lost all my files. How can I get back them.

Please give me a step by step guide.
    Windows Vista/32 Bit

    Thanks in advance.

First of all, please note that what you were doing was * not * a system restore. System Restore is a * Windows * function restores Windows and has nothing to do with your files.

What you were doing was the recovery of the system provided by the manufacturer of your computer. That puts shaped windows in car and renstalls hard on it. You probably can't get your files back.

Allow me to mention something else. Your question indicates that you do not have a regular backup of your important files. If this is the case, you are playing with fire. Even if you never make a system recovery, it is always possible that a hard disk crash, the user error, close to love at first sight, virus attack, even stolen computer, can result in the loss of everything on your drive. As it has often been said, it is not a question of whether you will have a problem, but when.

You can read this article on the backup that I wrote: 'Return to top your computer regularly and reliable' to http://www.computorcompanion.com/LPMArticle.asp?ID=314

I just accidentally reset my computer to factory setting and I lost all my files so please help me restore my previous version with my files. Thank you

I'm afraid there is no way that you can recover your files if you have reset your computer using factory reset. Bit late now, but should have backed up your files externally.

  • Lost the definition file of

When I go to uninstall anything Media Smart, I get the lost product definition file, and I can't uninstall anything.

    Hello

Download and install Revo Uninstaller from the link below.

    http://www.revouninstaller.com/download-freeware-version.php

Run revo and use it to view all your installed software, including HP MediaSmart. Make a right click on the program icon you want to remove and select uninstall.  It will initially launch the uninstaller own applications (which can or well failure) but continue with the rest of the process.  During the process, that you may be asked to remove the registry entries, simply select all and then click on remove.  Do the same for any left over files and folders.  Once the uninstall is complete, reboot the PC.

    I hope this helps.

  • I lost all my files from my pc

    Dear Sir.

I cut & copy all my files (50 GB) from my laptop on another pc. then I lost all my files, I tried to restore the last restore point there was a mistake. then I updated my pc & I tried there was point (failback). I tried the restore point manually to the day that I lost all my files. also, I couldn't have my files.

then I tried to backup my files from the file history, but it was more than 5 hours of operation nothing I had, and then stopped & closed the file history.

now, what is the best way to get all my files without damage

Cut & copy is not a safe way to make a transfer.  Obviously you know that now.  If there was no 50 GB you might find something in the trash, but I seriously doubt that you will be able to recover these files.

One thing I might try is an application named "recuva" which CAN recover some of them, but more recovery is doubtful

  • How I lost my xpj file, and I can get it back?

My colleague showed me some of the things she wanted me to correct in a project that I worked on when I realized that she looked a much older version. I went to my computer and reviewed and two related projects - it looked fine on my PC (I went to the directory and open the file index.htm), but when I went to open the project, I could not find anywhere xpj file.

Where at - it go? I guess my next step is to ask HIM to get my project - one that works - the backup from the night before... but I still wonder how I could have lost this xpj file.

I'm not looking at the issue 10 years ago, but it does not seem to relate to my situation.

    Thanks for any help,
