M1212nf MFP - scanning is extremely slow

I recently bought machine M1212nf MFP. Everything works well except the scan. No matter if I scan "with" or "without" HP scanning software is extremely slow. With setting the quality to 300 dpi in color, it is fine enough, it takes several tens of seconds to get the image to my PC. With 600 dpi setting, it takes several minutes and sometimes it does not and I have to turn the printer power off and power on. With up to 1200 dpi setting, it takes up to 30 minutes to scan the image and in most cases it ends any without indicating any error - it freezes just and the printer indicates that the communication is in progress.

Is this a normal behvaior of M1212nf MFP? This means that I can't use higher image qualities? I checked the wiring configuration and network tha and everything seems ok. I have the printer connected to the wifi ASUS router so I use the LAN to print and scan. Any other data transfer go well on the network, so I guess that the network is not the problem.

I bought this 'multifunctional' machine to replace my old printer and scanner with a single device. But so far, the scanner is unsuable for me because of its extremely low performance .

Any ideas? Any tips? Thanks in advance for any help.

    My printer recently started having problems with scanning.  I start a scan.  He is busy for a long time and then fails informing me that HP LaserJet Scan has stopped working.  When I type the guest Cancel Windows, the printer still displays the message "Scan to PC" forever.

    A defective cable can affect much more than the impression, as scannign consumes much more energy to make the connection by comparing standard analysis printing.

    However, what happens when you try to scan from Windows Fax and Scan?

    I strongly suggest such a you already reinstalled the software and a bit checked any possibility that the relocation of the software already.

    I have the ACM running on Ethernet.  Can I scan to any PC on my network or only on a PC.

    Note: I've never used the scanner before.  Someone told me that I cannot use the analysis feature if I use a USB cable.

  • LaserJet M1212nf MFP: Scanning does not... Once again.

    You are God * beep * serious? I've lost my patience with this thing. Used to scan via USB, but the part on the printer pulled plug and pulling repeatedly. Then connected by Ethernet cable. Would not scan. It turns out that the printer must be plugged into a wall outlet instead of the power bar. Very well.

    And now, it does not analyse new, but this time I literally haven't touched it since the last time once I plugged it in the wall. The device is in offline mode on my computer but can still print documents, but it won't scan. I checked the power cord of the printer and it is not loose at each end. All my drivers must be current.

    Well, this should allow you to analyze:

    1. If the printer is connected via USB cable to your PC, delete.
    2. Click on start and open devices and printers.
    3. Right-click on any icon of your printer listed.
    4. Click on remove the instrument.
    5. Repeat for all other icons of your printer listed.
    6. Download and install the latest drivers by clicking on this link.

    Please let me know the results after doing the above.

    Have installed a new Laserjet M1212nf MFP. When I send a document to print, it produces an impression outside, well wrapped on the ends because of the heat.

    The copy function and the scanner or never do not produce print outs. The bar with light moves on the copy/scan with the light area, but no print out.

    The first thing to do is start the Utility Manager tasks (right click on the task bar) and check what you have running, as well as the process what CPU they use. For a standard installation of Windows XP I would expect to see about process assets of 40-50 but only 1 or 2% of CPU. Stop every process that you don't want especially if they use a lot of CPU.

    Then, run a analysis suitable anit-virus and also a scan of Malware (Adaware and Spybot) and clean everything they find your system.

    Finally, run a cleaning disc, followed by a Disk Defragmenter (both in the Accessories/System Tools menu).

  • LaserJet M1212nf MFP: Spring / roll jumped out of scanner flat.

    I had a paper jam while I was scanning several sheets in the feeder.  I opened the lid of the scanner and a spring / roll came out.  I am still able to print and scan from the tray, but I'm not able to use the charger.  I have attached a photo of the piece that jumped.  Anyone know where it's going?  Thanks in advance.

    I bought this PC on April 25, 2016 and so far, it's the worst PC I've owned in my life!

    I made 3-4 comments on this trash and its still not on the UK site!

    I don't know if its the terrible material or mine is just a faulty PC.

    1. my USB ports stop usually work (when I connect a device)

    2. not a problem just a stupid thing made HP the HDMI is an output, which means that I can't connect to an output!

    4. you could say "Your PC is riddled with virus" is not only 6 GB of storage was used and the only things I installed was autodesk, and google sketchup and steam and remote play and unity.     10. not a problem too, but a reccomendation: do not use a mirror as a screen, the screen is really bad its ok its TOO BRILLIANT just brilliant.

    Did you get this as a gift?  Here is the care.  With a modest 1.8 Ghz processor (welded) and a set of graphics, which is part of the CPU chip, and here is NO slot for a graphics card.  Not possible to capacity except an increase in two modules of 8 GB RAM.  It has a brick laptop to a power supply. What you have is a unit of basic inetrnet/e-mail.

    In my humble OPINION, it should never be your waiting.   Then, I thought that you have been pranking, but you're a Brit, so I stopped short.

    I found the HP folder and was able to scan.  It has not put an icon on my desktop as did my previous installations.

    Once it has downloaded and installed, go to start > all programs > HP > HP Scan extended > Run "HP Scan extended.

    Read your own posts, but they offer no concrete solution.

    Windows Live Mail is extremely slow on all actions, such as selection, type, transmission, reception, everything, to the point where it is impractical and unusable.

    I have a brand new HP Elite, Windows Vista Home Premium x 64, to this day, virus scanned, etc.. All programs work well, including Windows Mail. But Windows Live Mail service is really too slow to be of any use.

    I have not agreed to update to IE8 because of many problems posted with it, that's why I continue to use IE7.

    Is there a real fix to the extremely slow problem Windows Live Mail? The plethora of forums and posts on this specific topic, it seems that we, potential users are out of luck. Please advice and correct.

    It is a software problem known with the alignment from right to the left of the preview of the scan, it only affects the preview screen , but the analysis results will be as expected.

    Once the mirror preview appears. do not duplicate the preview but complement the analytical work... the results of the analysis will be as expected.

    To completely resolve the problem, you can uninstall the HP software, change your PC Non-Unicode affecting English and reinstall the HP software. Then the HP software will appear as English and not to see him get an overview of the analysis as a mirror image.

    Having extremely slow response using the browser on an account on my Dell XPS, which is not run as an administrator.  See for a few seconds, as you type, or can use side pull-down screens, etc...  Have run scans, deleted all the programs of extranious, rebooted, defrag'd, compared to run programs, between the work of user (run as admin)... all to no avail... any ideas on how to determine and solve this problem?
