M30-704: compatible DVD - ROM readers?

the multidrive on my model m30 704 went to heaven of discs and I need to get a new optical drive. broken drive is a Matsu * a multidrive UJ-811.

which drives are compatible with my camera? What are the issues that I have to look? should I get a disk the same brand, or can I change the brand?

In addition, I don't need the full DVD burning / package DVD RAM - would be possible to 'downgrade' the reader and opt for a cheaper option, say with only the capabilities of DVD playback? [to the United Kingdom, so region 1 discs come out].

I'm very confused by all this and would appreciate greatly any help at all.

Hello

If you want to buy a new disk, you must check the compatibility because not just any player is supported as a result of the assignment of pins.
Unfortunately I put t found all readers outside Matsu * a UJ-811, but I m sure it is possible to buy only a DVD ROM without the option of engraving.
In my opinion, you should ask the service partner for the supported CD/DVD drive.
In addition, you can change the DVD region four times without any problem. Please check this option in the properties of the drive.

Good bye

    Hello

As far as I know this unit has DVD +-R/RW (DualDrive) and in my opinion the best solution is to swap it with the same. On this way, you will be sure that everything works correctly.

  • My HP DVD/ROM does not appear in the device under my computer Manager or when I scan for readers.

My HP DVD/ROM does not appear in the device under my computer Manager or when I scan for readers, most of the time.  Every now and then it will be visible and I can use it but 90% of the time it does not exist.  I tried the regedit fix, nothing.  I tried the program Microsoft Fix It, it tells me it cannot locate a DVD/ROM.  I removed, cleaned and reinserted my DVD/ROM drive, but no difference.  I tried everything, except the upgrade to Windows 7... who will be my last resort.

    Hello gargoyle28m,

If your hardware is not detected to upgrade to Windows 7 is not a resolution. This issue may be caused if the DVD drive is faulty or connections loose on the mother board. You may need to check the connections. I suggest you check if the DVD drive works on another computer. You can contact the manufacturer of your computer to help you with this problem.

  • Readers of CD-ROM/DVD-ROM missing

I came to visit my parents yesterday and I tried to use the CD-ROM on their Dell Dimension 8300 running Windows XP SP3.  The drive seemed to be working, but wouldn't read anything.  So I checked in Windows Explorer and the CD-ROM or the DVD + R/W discs were there.  I went to the Device Manager and received the following message:

Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

The readers in question are the NEC IDE\CDROM_NEC_DVD + RW_ND-2100AD and IDE\CDROMHL-DT-ST_DVD-ROM_GDR8162B (Hitachi or LG, I think).

So I tried to update the drivers, but Windows could not find a driver better than the current.  Figures.  I uninstalled the drives and tried to reinstall, but no luck.  I have good, well, I just downloaded a new form of drivers somewhere.  I went to Microsoft; no luck.  I went to Dell, where it says, "Dell makes drivers for its products on its Web site."  No, it isn't.  There was only the 22 drivers/firmware for DVD/CD devices; were not mine.  In fact, the only reference I could find any where on the Dell site for these discs were complaints in the forum there is no drivers! Never.  I went to NEC, Hitachi and LG.  All the zip.  Found dozens of web sites that will set everthing at a price of $29.95, but I really don't want to go that route unless I have to.

I found a post on http://www.connectedinternet.co.uk/2008/06/30/mystery-of-the-disappearing-dvd-rom/ that looked exactly like the problem I have.  It was suggested to change the registry.  I can do this, but I don't want to make things worse.

  • No driver CD/DVD-ROM don't readers for VGN-AR170?

We have recently reformatted hard drives in our Sony Vaio VGN AR170, due to a hard drive error. Having done this today, we have not been able to find the drivers needed for the CD/DVD-ROM works correctly. We searched the Web and found nothing will load and allow read drives in "MY COMPUTER".

Are there drivers that we can do online that will solve this problem?

    Hi beverlyrogers,

The CD/DVD driver is the generic operating system and can be reinstalled from the Device Manager.

Click on the start menu and type: devmgmt.msc in the start search box and press the Enter key to open the Device Manager window.

Expand and then right-click on the category of CD/DVD drive in Device Manager and select the uninstall option.

Then, restart the computer to install the driver for CD/DVD by default operating system.

You can also try the steps below to resolve this issue.

Press the Windows key + R to open the order run, type regedit and press ENTER.

In the navigation pane, find and then click the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

In the right pane, click UpperFilters/lower filters.

On the Edit menu, click on delete.

When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.

Exit the registry editor and restart the computer.

If the problem persists, perform the steps in the Sub page to fix the problem.

  • Vista Ultimate on HP DC 7900 Mini lathe, always charge readers of cd rom and dvd rom.

I installed Vista Ultimate on a HP DC7900 minitower. Clean install on new hard drive. Have no cd and dvd rom installed on the same cable (ide).

It is on a small network of three computers, 1. XP 2. Vista Ultimate 3. Windows 7 Professional 4. HP Laserjet 4000N 5. Router DLink 825.

No other computers have this problem.

Since the first day, when the computer should be slowed down and in fact is in mode 'sleep', the tasks of the computer (seeks?) first the dvd rom and cd rom drives. I can only describe as a ratcheting noise. It lasts only a few seconds, but takes it approximately every 20 minutes.

I installed all the updates for Vista on a regular basis, of which none have eliminated the problem. He did it since the day that I install.

The only way to stop the problem is to stop the computer everyday and restart the next day. I can't let it run all night. When I run all day, if I walk more than half an hour, he start "multitasking" records rom again.

Anyone has this problem next to me?

Thanks to all those who may have the solution.

I could go to Windows 7 on this computer and probably should, but do not have eight hours to spend in the upgrade right now.

    The bottom can help:

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and the
correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

  • How to replace the CD/DVD-Rom on Satellite Pro 2100

    Hello

My laptop's dvd - rom drive is old and broken, now that I have here an other dvd - rom drive, but I don't know how to remove the old dvd - rom without removing all parts of my laptop. Is there some service manuals how to replace the dvd - rom drive?

    Hello

I m not 100% sure on the CD/DVD drive replacement on this laptop, but I assume that the procedure is very similar to other portable players.
For the most part the ODD is secured with the screw at the bottom of the unit.
You will need to remove this screw to get out and to swap the drive.

But be careful and don t there if you have no experience!
Moreover, not all readers are compatible and supported in reason parameters master/slave/c-salt. If you n t know which drives are compatible you should ask the ASP in your country for advice!

  • Tecra 8100 DVD - ROM SD-C2402

Hi, am new to the forum.

I have the reader above, and while it reads DVD pressed without problems, he struggles to read and access my own written records. Some discs, DVD - R written on the same game machine very well, others do not read. The same discs play and read fine in my desktop computer, sony dvd - rom or nec 3520 a DVDRW.

He refuses to read DVD - RW disks and I was wondering if there is no firmware update that will allow him to read a wide range of discs? If this is not the case, the laser can be adjusted to make it better in reading?

If none of the above, what replacement unit will fit the existing caddy so that it can be used internally? Should it be a toshiba or are there others that fits? Are all the readers of the same shape and size or not?

Sorry, it's a bit long, but I hope someone can help!

    See you soon

    Hi Chris

You know. There are many DVD players on the market and each has different properties. It's not easy to tell which driver can read or write better and which is worse. It's the same with CDs and DVDs in media. If your drive peut t read DVDs, I recommend you to clean the laser lens prudent. Additionally, try different DVD from different manufacturers.

All readers have occupation different pins. Your device is not compatible with every player. The best way is to contact the service partner and ask them for information more accurately.

  • T430 i5 series with DVD-ROM: looking for replacement information DVD...

Greetings. Considering buying a refurb T430. It comes with a DVD-ROM. It seems to me, from what little I can do without the model number of machine or DVD part (s), that the device is a standard slimline SATA drive. I had the chance before with swapping the Panel/Panel before these readers when I had to make a replacement.

    (1) can I use a generic DVD - RW drive?

    (2) someone can me the Lenovo replacement PN so that I have one can hunt down on ePay?

Don't want an expando Bay, and I don't want to use an external. Thank you!!

Received a DVD burner yesterday, bought from Epay. Perfect shape, size and function. Aesthetically perfect. Only $15 USD. There are many many numbers of parts that are compatible and the permutation of the bezel is easy peasy.
