Machine stops when you run Windows Experience Index or Gaming

Computer stops offshore (no blue screen, no error message) and start again at the stage of WEI windows aero (also when running games 4. graphic). At first I thought that my GTS 250 card didn't so I bought a new card GTX 550 it now... same question. The machine works great with internet standard navigation or standard windows applications running. I tried all the features following, both before and after the restoration of the entire system of original image...

(1) computer started in safe mode... WEI may not be running in SafeMode (not solv)

(2) ran SFC/scannow (has no solv)

(3) run chkdsk /f /r (has no solv)

(4) uninstalled the video driver... rebooted in safe mode... Given normal operation... Let windows find the driver (didn't solv)

(5) uninstalled the video driver... rebooted in safe mode... Given normal operation... Installed the latest drivers (didn't solv)

(6) uninstalled the video driver... rebooted in safe mode... Given normal operation... Pilot of the previous version (doesn't have a solv)

(7) Deleted(backed up) all in C:\windows\performance\winsat\dataset... re-ran WEI (has no solv)

(8) installed realtemp and rivatuner for cpu and gpu temp monitoring... time of normal operation...   (didn't solv)

(9) removed UPS and UPS software according to the equation (has no solv)

(10) switched video card generator PCIe 6pin to 4 periphrial power supply plug adapter w two pins plugs (has no solv)

(11) removed and cleaned cpu, cpu and fan heat sync... apply fresh thermal paste (has no solv)

(12) Ran through windows Aero troubleshooting steps (see note *) (has no solv)

  • Vista 64 SP2: when you run windows update, trustedinstaller takes 100% of one of the drivers for more than 20 minutes

I recently bought a new computer, when I run Windows Update there is a process called TrustedInstaller.exe, taking 100% of one of the cores for a very long time (> 20 minutes).

I have vista 64 SP2 and all updates installed (took me over 3 days to complete).

Also, when I try to install additional features of windows (for example. IIS) the same thing happens, trusteinstaller takes 100% of the base and install new features forever.

I have not installed additional software so far is very little probable that a virus or spyware is the cause. When I'm not updating the an or install features of windows, the computer running quickly and the cpu load is not high at all.

  • FTP connection times out on Windows Server 2003 when you run Windows Firewall

This seems to come up recently, perhaps with a recent Windows automatic update.

I have FTP server running on Windows Server 2003 R2.

The NIC has the firewall Windows is activated, which allows port 21 (FTP) through.

When you use an FTP client from a workstation, the FTP client expires when you navigate to a folder with many files, say the folder/images of a website with 10 + MB in total (which isn't really that much). Navigate to other folders with smaller files seems fine.

Now, when I turn off the firewall of the server, then I can use a FTP client on a workstation to access any FTP folder regardless of the number of files or the size of files and everything is fast fast.

This brings me to the conclusion that the problem lies in the Windows Server 2003 firewall, and we must have this option disabled for FTP clients do not expire.

  • Error 80072EFE when you run Windows Update on Win7 so wireless

You try to run Windows update on a new laptop from Toshiba with Windows 7 installed and a good wireless connection to a router I get error 80072EFE rather than a list of updates. If I connect directly to the router the updated list comes through fine. I can then unplug the router and download updates more wireless.

Initially I was running tried to reinstall as 32-bit, 64-bit Win7, but made no difference. Tried to update after I just installed Win7 before Norton and other applications on. Contacted Belkin and they gave me a checklist of the router to do, but not better. Someone at - it ideas? The problem is reproducible even with Norton and other installed applications. If you connect the router updates Windows detects the updates to install. If you work with wireless it gets error 80072EFE.

    Phil

If I connect directly to the router the updated list comes through fine.

Until you get your wireless connection problems straightened, run your manually check updates when you are connected to the router.

  • Can you perform a destructive restore using a disc to upgrade to windows 7 when you run windows xp pro?

Hello! I want to perform a destructive restore, but I lost my WIindows XP pro installation CD. At the same time, I want to upgrade to Windows 7 and I was wondering if I can just buy a Windows 7 upgrade disk and took the opportunity to do a full restore, I want to erase everything from my computer and put everything to factory settings, as if she was completely new.

What do you mean exactly by "destructive recovery? I take from your post, it means that you want to format the system drive and perform a new installation of Windows 7. In other words, start with a clean hard drive.

If this is correct, then YES; Indeed, during the upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7 there is no actual "upgrade path" as the upgrade requires a custom (clean) installation of Windows 7.

(see: I am running Windows XP on my PC.) Buy Windows 7 upgrade version?)
     http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/upgrading-to-Windows-7-frequently-asked-questions

Before the upgrade, if you haven't already done so, it is highly recommended to run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to make sure that your computer is capable of running Windows 7. Windows 7 was designed to use the latest technology and equipment and many older machines are not able to run the new operating system.

    Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor
     http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/downloads/Upgrade-Advisor

You should also visit the windows Compatibility Center 7 to determine if all of the devices (printers, scanners, cameras, etc.) and the programs on your computer are compatible with Windows 7. For printers and other devices, you will need the name of the manufacturer and exact model number.

    Windows 7 Compatibility Center
     http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

The upgrade to Windows 7 will also require that you will find and install the Windows 7 drivers (32-bit or 64-bit based on what you are upgrading to) for all you hardware and devices. This includes the BIOS (if any), the motherboard (chipset), audio, video, LAN, mouse and keyboard, printers, scanners, cameras, etc. In the case of printers, scanners and devices, you also need the software associated with your version of Windows 7 in addition to new drivers.

Creation of new drivers is the manufacturer of the device; in other words the computer manufacturer or the manufacturer of material or actual device. If your computer is a great brand (Dell, HP, etc) visit of the machine to support the site and search for Windows 7 drivers for your specific computer model. In the case of printers and others, visit the support from their manufacturer, still looking for new Windows 7 drivers for your specific camera model. Google is your friend.

Before you begin the upgrade process, you must back up all your files and data, including pictures, movies, music, contact lists and anything else that you do not want to lose; Yet once, this upgrade requires the disk formatted as either hard erase everything on the drive. Ideally, this backup should be on external media such as an external hard drive or a (of a sufficient diameter) flash drive.

    Hello

You can just put some time you're comfortable in these areas. It should not matter.

I think it is it is happening is that your guest is going to suspend - not the vmware suspend, but WinXP suspend mode - and that's for a reason any does not cover.

If my suggestions do not help, you can also try to re - install VMware tools, but take a snapshot before that, just in case
