Magic Mouse 2 loses connection

I have a MacBook Pro (mid-2012) with OS X 'El Capitan' 10.11.3 and constantly with the MM2 bluetooth connection failed. I tried all the basic kit to provide solutions by Apple but nothing works. A temporary solution I found, in a blog, was to remove the 'com.apple.Bluetooth.plist' library and after restart the Mac, but the problem comes back again.

Does anyone have a final solution?

Thank you!!!

I have experienced the same problem. The solution that worked for me was a mechanic. I removed the batteries and inspected the inside of the battery compartment. I noticed that those vessels for the positive edge of the battery (right) was slightly deeper. I believe that this had occurred simply over time due to a voltage that is extended by the spring that keeps the battery at the negative end, eventually distort the receptacle for the positive tip, due to suboptimal construction, although it may be a manufacturing defect.

I just created a small wedge of a piece of aluminum foil (about a diameter of 2.5 mm x 1 mm high disk) to fill the void in the receptacle. In this place, it solved my problems of connection MM!

You can get a similar solution ensuring that the cells of the battery you are using have a positive edge longer. Duracell batteries have a positive tip, longer than the ready-made batteries (Energizer), for example.

  • Is the mouse Magic Mouse from Apple, a Wi - Fi connection or a Bluetooth device?

I use a final model of the Apple Magic Mouse with my latest model MacBook and OS X and I think it's very nice design the Magic Mouse is useless for my needs but it is not accurate at all.

I found that the mouse is very difficult to manage these moments I need to move the mouse slowly as 1 to 5 pixels, I can feel that the mouse does not respond immediately when I start moving it after a few seconds of inactivity.

I use a very old super cheap Microsoft mouse (wired) and it is very functional, but of course not as nice as the Magic Mouse

After exploring all settings and configurations of the Apple Magic Mouse, I would essentially mouse either USB or Wi - Fi alternatives, but in the meantime I told us the Apple Magic Mouse uses Bluetooth technology which is not as good and accurate as Wi - Fi.

Plug mouse says it uses Bluetooh and wireless so now I'm confused and I was wondering if there is anyone here who might give clarification about this.

    No Wi - Fi.

  • the magic mouse disconnects regularly

Since last week my Magic Mouse is losing connection with my iMac (OS X Sierra) pretty regularly--several times each hour, sometimes more often - the connection is only lost for 5-10 seconds, but it's a lot of time when you're trying to work. Anyone else had this problem and had been able to find a solution?

If your Magic Mouse is version 1 (with batteries), it won't be to fully integrate with Sierra.   You can buy Magic Mouse 2 for that.   Because all future operating systems need, you may as well buy now.

  • Magic Mouse 2 does not work

I bought a magic mouse 2 and connected to the computer, but the computer can't find it. Button / mouse start stop is on (green), but nothing happens. My version is OS X Yosemite 10.10.5

    Thank you!

You need to upgrade your system to El Capitan 10.11.3 before your magic Mouse2 will work properly.

  • the magic Mouse loses connection

I have an iMac 21.5 "running 10.11.6. Recently, I added a to an existing stereo system bluetooth connectivity so I could broadcast on the system. By the way since then I lose my connection to the mouse. I get "connection lost" notification even if the mouse is sitting idle without hands even near him. I tried the suggested pieces of paper, battery replacement and any other thing, I found displayed. Nothing works. As I was typing that I got the message several times, and I'm not even using the mouse! I have another computer in another location and plan to try to see if the problem changes switching. I suspected that the additional bluetooth device could be the culprit, but I tried to unplug and had the same results. It is not a problem with another computer running the same operating system, even if a year or two older hardware. The intermittent mouse problem existed before, but I've lived with him because he doesn't seem to be that bad. Now, I have moved and am in an apartment complex and wonder if there is an interference cause me pain. I do not know to replace the mouse by a non Apple device can solve the problem or if I need to use a WIRED one remedy! The keyboard has never given me problems and with the exception of the low battery notification, it has worked perfectly.

    Hello...

    May be corrupted Bluetooth preferences.

Open a Finder window. In the Finder menu bar, click go > go to folder

Type or copy paste the following text:

    / Library/Preferences/com. Apple.Bluetooth.plist

Click OK, and then place the com.apple.Bluetooth.plist file in the trash.

If this does not help, because you are having problems with the battery, Reset System Management Controller (SMC)

  • Magic Mouse 2 keeps losing connection

Hi, I use an iMac nine 5 k, v10.11.5 El Capitan

Whenever I use the mouse will randomly lose connection for about 5-10 seconds and then reconnect. It also happens with the keyboard sometimes. More than 90% battery levels

Can I do about it? It really disrupts my workflow.

    Thank you

    Hello miles M.

I'll try to answer your question, but I'll have to make some assumptions.   Unlike many, you have correctly filled out your profile and it helps.

For example;  I see that in addition to the MacBook Pro (running El Cap), you have an iMac (running El Cap) and a Yosemite iMac running.   They are all in the same room a lot of the time, like when your problem occurs?   Then, the mice.   At least one must be Magic Mouse 2, but it will be Magic Mouse 1.   They are close together?   If one of the above is true, it is most likely that you have an interference problem.   And where the mouse is the problem my assumption is the Magic Mouse 2.

The first thing to do is to try to isolate the Magic Mouse the part 1.   Turn off the iMac of Yosemite loaded, remove any tablets Wacom and pens and other and tested of the Magic Mouse 2 with the new iMac.

Now, my imagination is not exact, so where things are differently, let me know so that we can talk our way through it.

  • After the update of Sierra: not to Disable Trackpad with Magic Mouse connected

    Hello

After that I updated to macOS Sierra on my MacBook Pro the Trackpad is not disable mouse connected with Magic.

Feature: MacBook Pro retina 15 inches (end of 2014) on macOS Sierra.

Since the update, I noticed that my stays compatible with my Magic Mouse connected after built-in trackpad window connection.

In system-> accessibility-> mouse and Trackpad preferences, I have not "ignore the built-in trackpad when mouse or trackpad wireless is present". If I switch it off and on again once again, the parameter will be.

However, once I lock the device (user name right-> connection... window) and reconnect, the trackpad works. You must pass the parameter each time.

Is this a bug of Mac OS Sierra (can't find anything) or am I missing something? I am aware that the trackpad is reactivated at the login window, but before it will deactivate after logging in.

I don't use Magic Mouse, but I have USB Wired mouse and I have the same problem since installing Sierra.

I have the box ticked, but I must go and clear the check box and then save.

I have to use a mouse all the time because my trackpad goes haywire and I wasn't able to find a solution for this. It moves its own and open stuff on its own.

  • Magic Mouse connected but no display on screen pointer

Just pass on my iMac and Magic Mouse and not even connected. Mouse as connected but shows there is no pointer arrow on the screen. Please notify. If the mouse is broken how can I shut down the computer?

What happens when you connect a USB mouse, if you don't please borrow or buy one, they are very cheap.

Hello, how can I access my iMac that is locked and the keyboard will not match (new batteries and LED is blinckin). The Magic Mouse works OK. What should I do?

I bought a new mouse Magic 2 within 5 years, one packed and thought the option cooldown better to replace the batteries. He connects to his macbook with bluetooth fine but only has the basic movement and click functions, properties of the mouse only shows base none of the magic mouse functions. I connect to my macbook, and all right, slide, tap twice etc. Question is how to operate on the other macbook when its old mouse was working well until he fell.

The other Macbook on El Capitan, the Magic Mouse 2 is compatible with El Capitan and beyond.

  • the magic mouse 2, connection fails

My Magic Mouse 2 (new product) is 'connected', but I don't get the option of use or activate this.

If you always use Yosemite, which is more likely to be the reason.   You need to upgrade your computer to El Capitan, i.e. 10.11.3.   Your machine should accept this OS smoothly.

  • Magic Mouse works only with the latest el capitan

Why Apple is not the problems with El Capitan (10.11.6) and it's Magic Mouse? The only way is connected to my MacBook Pro is to remove the com.app.bluetooth.plist at the end of each session and even that does not always work. When it is finally connected, the mouse connects and reconnects constantly during the session. The mouse is an Apple product, and Apple does not seem to recognize the problem or give anyone a viable solution.

Determine that the problem is inherent in the software is an act of faith (there is no batches of messages here with the same problem).

Try resetting the SMC and the NVRAM.
