It says it is connected to my wireless - excellent - but when I try to open the internet I get the error IE cannot open the Web page. I deleted my network and tried to re-login only to get the same error. I did a clean install on my laptop and downloaded the drivers on the HP site, but it's always the same.

  In the lower RH it says 'Unidentified network' (and the name of my network) access: Local only. If I connect the ethernet cable, it works fine and if I connect my mobile dongle orange it works very well.

  I have other laptops and desktop computers and all these connect wirelessly without problem. I have tried to 'fix' the wireless connection and not to renew the period of INQUIRY, still no joy. I connected on the router from my office and changed the channel from "auto" to "6" and "11", but this has no effect.

  Someone at - it ideas, what could cause this problem, any help would be highly appreciated.

  I'll try to answer your question, but I'll have to make some assumptions.   Unlike many, you have correctly filled out your profile and it helps.

  When you start start pressing F8 until you get the Windows startup options.  Then try "Last known good configuration" see if that helps.  If this does not work, try to F * then try to go to Safe Mode.  If those who do not help, I would start with your XP CD to recovery mode and run "chkdsk/r" then "sfc/scannow".  QQ learn manage!
