  • mail server rejects emails because it does not relay. What is the relay?

I'm trying to set up an e-mail account on my imac, iphone and the ipad. Implementation was a success on the imac and can send and receive messages to test. However, in putting in place ACCT even on phone and Tablet returns an error msg "... the recipient ' my @me.com apple" was rejected by the server because it does not relay ".". " The sender email acct server rejects email or the receiving email server rejects it? Regardless, how to fix? IOS and newer and operating system are installed on all devices.

Relay, this is how mail servers send messages between them. You are not a mail server, you will need to login with the appropriate credentials. The configuration for sending mail is bad for the account that you are using. These settings are found under SMTP, the main server at the bottom of the account settings. The automatic configuration of iOS is perhaps not good for the server. Since he works on the iMac, you can use it as a guide. Look especially for the SSL port number required and the type of authentication (password, etc.).

  • Cannot send email from a computer that is not on the same domain as the e-mail server

We have just set up a mail server on Amazon. I can send email from the fine command line. I can send and receive e-mail from a PC connected to the Amazon with Thunderbird field. I can receive e-mail from a PC outside the realm of server (Amazon) with Thunderbird mail, but cannot send mail. I always get an error in time-out to a PC outside the field of Amazon. The SMTP settings are identical between computers connected to different areas. All necessary ports are also open. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This should stop from trying to access the account before entering the password to Thunderbird.
Note, it is in no way a measure of security.

  • Creating new email accounts but ONLY Inbox is displayed. Rsh, Snt, Tmplts, DRTS are not. Related: mail server rejects DFSP user even if I copy fm c/Panel

E-mail server for domain uutupelo.org name is under my control with c/Panel. I added a new account with c/Panel with an appropriate password. The account displays correctly on c/wood. When I use T/bird 38.2.0 to add this new account, that account is found and the settings displayed, but when I PASTE the password in Tbird, the "password or username" is rejected.
When the account appears in T/bird ONLY shows the Inbox (or sometimes up to 19 inboxes show although I have installed the new feature tested). I have no folder for sent, drafts, models or Trash. T/bird will not accept actions of "New folder" either for the new account.

These files can only be generated when there is something to put in it. Did you send or delete all messages yet? Or registration as a project?

You say that you are pasting a password. This means is not a trivially-memory string and uses, shall we say, the characters 'exotic '? E-mail protocols have a narrow idea of what is a valid character. Nonalphanumeric characters can not be accepted by e-mail (pop, imap, smtp) protocols, while being OK via the http protocol used in Web-based e-mail. This is why a password that works in a context cannot be good in another.

  • Emails sent via Thunderbird are not saved on the e-mail server.

I have a critical problem with the backup of the emails I sent to Thunderbird.

The application works very well, that everyone sent mail is correctly saved in the folder "sent" located in the e-mail account of TB.
The problem is that messages are not saved on the mail server associated with (in this case, pop.mail.yahoo.com), so whenever I have to reinstall the software, I lose all my outgoing emails. If I access my email on yahoo.com account and email from there, it is regularly saved in the sent folder there.

I would be grateful if someone could
    (i) say me if it is a known problem, and if there is a way to remedy through Thunberdird server or Composition settings.
(ii) if there is a way around the problem by saving the file 'sent' located in the Thunderbird mail folder on my HARD drive. Is it possible, after the reinstallation of the application, to paste the file sent to the Mail folder? And I want to save the "Sent.msf" file as well?

Thank you much for the help.
    L

The problem is that messages are not saved on the mail server associated with (in this case, pop.mail.yahoo.com),.

With a POP account, this is the expected behavior. Only the Inbox folder is visible on the server, all the other files are the.
    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/glossary-terms-including-types-accounts#w_pop

To access the other folders on the server, for example your sent folder, you need to configure your account as an IMAP account.
    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/glossary-terms-including-types-accounts#w_imap

so whenever I have to reinstall the software, I lose all my outgoing emails.

You should not need to reinstall the software in the first place. And even if you do you will not lose any position, unless you deliberately remove your Thunderbird profile.
With pop, all mail is local to your computer, including the "sent" folder.

In fact, you must back up the entire profile.

Is it possible, after the reinstallation of the application, to paste the file sent to the Mail folder?

As said before, nothing is lost when reinstalling the application. If you want to move to a new computer by simply moving the profile.

do I have to save the "Sent.msf" file as well?

If you want to backup files individual mail, you don't need to save the *.msf files. They are just the index files and contain no mail. They are rebuild automatically when you start Thunderbird.
In any case, to save the entire profile is the recommended method.

  • Thunderbird downloads emails from the mail server to its own server?

Download Thunderbird and Horus email on its own server, or wiat for pull emails from my mail server until I have connect and download them?

There is no 'server Thunderbird', so that solves the first part of your question.

I don't know what you mean by "log in."

Thunderbird, retrieves all in all, your messages from the server when you tell him, or you can configure it to do periodically.

To access your messages, he must know the username of the e-mail account (very often all or part of your e-mail address) and the corresponding password. If you allow Thunderbird store the password, there is no need even to think of "connection" to the mail server.

I said "basically" because with some IMAP servers, messages seem to be fed to Thunderbird as and when they become available, assuming he is alive and online.

  • How to fix the outgoing e-mail when e-mail server address changes

I had to remove an email account that was getting too much spam and create a new. For example, deleted [email protected] and created a [email protected] called a new.

I thought I could keep the same account from Thunderbird by changing all these instances out of [email protected] to [email protected].

    I can receive emails fine.

Under the server settings, there is a parameter for the name of the server, which remains the same, and user name, which I changed it to [email protected].

Under the main parameters, at the bottom, there is a drop-down list box to select the outgoing server, and there is a list of all accounts I have. However, the one for the account, I changed still says [email protected] - host name, and no [email protected] - hostname, and I can't send through this outgoing host.

I have to delete the old account and add the new account, save my outgoing messages so that the outgoing mail server be correct?

OK, I finally found it, just above the 'Actions of account' at the bottom of the list of all accounts. I totally didn't see that entry to date. I've included an image in case someone else is so blind that I have. Thank you.
