• Inconsistency in the refresh time cube in different environments by ODI

  Dear all,

  We are having a classical planning and a consequent Application cube Essbase BSO. ODI is used as the ETL. During the loading of metadata we use IKM SQL for Hyperion Planning. Update the database on the target is set to TRUE. The problem we are facing is that with absolutely same interfaces in Prod and Dev and an equal number of records, the interface which inserts entries and update the cube takes ~ 9 seconds to run developing while it takes about 22.9 seconds to run Prod. I'm talking about here is a sparse dimension with skirting 786 records. For Dense dimension the time difference is much more. Thus, the interface that works for seconds or extends to maybe a minute takes hours to run in Production which is causing a huge concern and reputation is at stake in front of the customer.

  I am a novice in ODI, all the experts please shed some light on what should be the approach to analyze it. What are the parameters I should check, from the point of view Admin and this track. Need your urgent response.

  I'm guessing just that it runs a complete restructuring when you do not expect, you need to verify it is what is happening.

  If the problem points to ODI and you can replicate the problem then log a call with Oracle to work around the problem, you can run an update utility command line planning who you should be able to call ODI, according to which the officer is placed.

• Groups refresh time take to finish

  Hi all
  I have been looking for this thing for a long time, but he came out with nothing.
  
  I have 104 groups update going during the night. Given that I add to all the RGs tables to replicate, I need to know when is the update take a group of discount so that I can control if the added tables create problems for night work.

• How to make the data refresh

  I have to update our database of production of a warehouse. There are a number of tables to be refreshed.
  
  Now, I can not have materialized views makes additional updates since the warehouse tables have no newspapers mview on them. Then I go to updates of the complete table. So I create a temp tables, freshen up first and then post it in the production tables. I use temporary tables instead of refreshing production tables directly on the remote tables to reduce the refresh time of the production tables. The code example below.

  If you want to control the update with the logic and processing that can indeed be done using a materialized view, you can consider the following.

  -Use a DEC (create Table as Select) to create a new table.
  -Add the clues necessary to the new table (and provide subsidies are necessary).
  -Remove the existing production table (or rename).
  -Rename the new table as the production table.

  This approach works well when the last step is an exchange of partition - penetrating the new content of the table to partition table and exit the old content.

  The thing to remember is to keep it simple (KISS) and not reinvent the wheel. Oracle has a rich set of features and offers great flexibility.

  1. the present proceedings is a diagnostic test. It doesn't change anything for the better or worse and therefore, by itself, will not solve the problem. But with the help of the results of the tests, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.

  The test works on OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later versions. I do not recommend running it on older versions of Mac OS X. It will do no harm, but it will not do not much good.

  Do not be put off by the complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You make the tasks more complicated with the computer all the time.

  2. If you have already a current backup backup all data before doing anything else. The backup is needed on the general principle, not because of what anyone in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you encounter any kind of problems with the computer, you can be more than the usual loss of data, if you follow these instructions or risk not.

  There are ways to back up a computer that is not fully functional. Ask if you need advice.

  3 here is instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. As I wrote above, it doesn't change anything. It does not send or receive data over the network. There is no to generate a report on the State of the computer human readable. This report goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. If you prefer, you can act on it yourself without disclosing the contents for me or someone else.

  You should ask yourself if you can believe me, and if it is safe to run a program at the request of a foreign national. In general, no, he's not sure, and I encourage it.

  4. here is a general summary of what you need to do, if you decide to go forward:

  ☞ Copy a particular line of text to the Clipboard.

  ☞ Paste into the window to another application.

  ☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.

  ☞ Stick the results, which will be copied automatically, in a response on this page.

  These are not specific instructions; just a glimpse. The details are in parts 7 and 8 of this comment. The sequence is: copy, paste, wait and paste it again. You don't need to copy a second time.

  5. try to test in conditions that replicate the problem, to the extent possible. For example, if the computer is slow intermittently, run the test during a downturn.

  You may have started up in safe mode. If the system is now in safe mode and works pretty well in normal mode to test run, restart as usual before running it. If you can test only in safe mode, this.

  6. If you have more than one user and a user is affected by the problem, and the user is not an administrator, and then run the test twice: once under the affected user and one administrator. The results can be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer, when you start it for the first time is an administrator.   7 load the linked web page (the site "Pastebin.") The title of the page is 'Diagnostic Test'. Under the title is a text box, headed by three small icons. The right one represents a Clipboard. Click on this icon to select the text, then copy to the Clipboard of your computer by pressing Control-C key combination.

  If the text is not highlighted when you click the icon, select it in triple - click anywhere inside the box. Do not select the whole page, just the text in the box.

  8. start the Terminal application integrated in one of the following ways:

  ☞ Enter the first letters of his name in a Spotlight search. Select from the results (it should be at the top).

  ☞ In the Finder, select go utilities ▹ of menu bar or press the combination of keys shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

  10. If you logged in as an administrator, you will be prompted for your login password. Nothing displayed when you type. You won't see the usual points instead of the characters typed. Make sure that caps lock is turned off. Type carefully, and then press return. You can get a warning to be careful. If you make three unsuccessful attempts to enter the password, the test is still running, but it will produce less information. If you do not know the password, or if you prefer not to enter, just press back three times at the password prompt. Yet once again, the script will run.

  If the test takes much longer that usual to run because the computer is very slow, you can be prompted for your password a second time. The permission you grant by entering it will expire automatically after five minutes.

  If you are not logged as an administrator, you will be prompted for a password. The test will run. It just will not do anything that requires administrator privileges.

  11. the test may take a few minutes to run, depending on the number of files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that is abnormally slow may take more time to run the test. During execution, a series of lines is displayed in the Terminal window like this:

          The test results are on the Clipboard.

          Please close this window.

  [Process completed]

  The intervals between the parties will not be exactly the same, but they give an approximate indication of progress.

  Wait for the final "Process complete" message. If you don't see it in about 15 minutes, the test probably won't be all within a reasonable time. In this case, press the Ctrl + C key combination or the point command to stop it. Then go to the next step. You will have incomplete results, but still something. If you close the window of the Terminal, while the test is still running, the partial results will not be saved and you have to start over.

  12. when the test is finished, or if you have stopped it because it was taking too long, leaving the Terminal. The results have been saved to the Clipboard automatically. They do not appear in the Terminal window. Please do not copy from there. All you have to do is start a response to this comment and then paste it again by pressing Command-V.

  At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words «Start time.» If you do not see, but rather to see a mass of gibberish, you don't expect the "Completed" message is displayed in the Terminal window. Please wait and try again.

  If personal information, such as your name or e-mail address, appear in the results, make anonymous before posting. Usually it will be not necessary.

  13. in the validation of the results, you see an error message on the web page: "you have included content in your post that is not allowed", or "the message contains invalid characters." • CAN grasp the material master Timebase rate returns an error with new hardware OR XNET

  I have a project that communicates on a CAN bus. It has always worked well with a PCI-CAN/2 card, but when I tried to use it in combination with an NI PCI-8512 (NOR-XNET) newly purchased card, it returns the following error:

  Based on our discussion in class, it seems indeed as part of your existing code is written in a very specific way which is not entirely compatible with the XNET approach.

  Indeed, it would be useful to have 2 separate versions of this init VI (and other CAN-code) of your code and allow you to decide which one to run your top-level application, depending on the setting used.
  A HAL as approach could still be used in this case.

• esxi set time via ntp if lag is more than a few hours?

  Today, I discovered an additional step.

  If you standup a server esxi with a static ip address, you must manually assign the ntp servers.

  Fair enough, if you set the ntp server and tell it to restart ntp, you wait to update the time.

  If the offset is too big between the client and the server, it will not set the time.

  Is this a standard behavior of linux, I've never seen.

  If your time differential is too large it will not refresh time from ntp server, until you set it manually once.

  This is the behavior that I lived on four systems of 4.0u2, I place today.

  I had similar problems, don't know what I did to solve it, but I never got it again since I started to install ESX in following these steps about the hour.

  1. set the BIOS to the UTC clock

  2. install esx

  3. connect through the client vsphere, go to time config page and put in place NTP with pool.ntp.org, restart the service.

  bounce of the ESX box, re - connect and the time is perfectly synchronized with my local computer.

  Create oh, 30 members in a dimension requiring members. Here are the members of your add-on-the-fly.

  Do not put any data in them.

  Modify your form to delete missing.

  Create a HBR that can users to launch which allows an allocation of 1 member in a combination of members not used (garbage account, BegBalance, whatever).

  Put in a RTP that allows them to enter 1 to the Member (use of the RTP scope definition in HBR member limit to your new 30 members).

  Now you have a form that displays your new Member because deleting missing no long don't delete NewMember n . (You can hide the column that contains the 1 or something else that defines the data.)

  Put a text field of planning on the form allowing the Scheduler to add the name of the Member (add another alias, if you care to).

  In the night, run an ODI (or DIM or HAL) process that extracts the text value, it is up to the Member, and then builds a dimension.<--Okay, this="" bit="" i="" actually="" came="" up="" with,="" the="" rest="" i="" think="" i="" first="" heard="" from="" john="">

  Complicated, isn't this it? The last piece with ODI could be replaced by a human process that follows the text field (or the text in the cell) and the dimension built manually with a refreshment during the night.

  Workforce planning issues (not this one, but similar to) like this through SmartLists galore, but they are difficult to realize as metadata becomes data.

  Latest version, they took auto-refresh timer on a tab, I still miss it. I used it on a weather page, so I always know the latest weather at a glance. Now, I have to remember to refresh the page when I watch it.

• iMac buying tips - logic user

  I bought an iMac mid 2007 refurbished in 2008 that I use mainly for house music production using Logic Studio (Logic Pro 8) running on Lion since it is the last OS that will run this old version of the logic (and I remember having to do a hack to run the Lion). Suffice it to say, I got my money out of this little girl and he did have a problem of unique material over time, I've owned. I can't say the same for the MacBook that I've owned, although my wife Air was good.

  Anyway, Lion is coming to grips with the real life soon, so I'm thinking the following (and money is an issue, kid in College and another one soon).

  (1) keep my old box until it is unusable; Logic Pro X upgrade (including hardware drivers) and install El Capitan (not sure the order of preference for install).

  (2) research at the lowest cost 2013 + refurbished i5 (which will probably be more memory space and the disk than mine and certainly more CPU power than my old iMac) and upgrade from Logic Pro X and El Capitan.

  (3) buy a renovated October 2015 + i7 with the best car (merger or SSD), more memory (16 GB, 32 GB, perhaps) and install Logic Pro X.

  Well duh, #3, right? more bigger, better, cooler... that come with an extra price of the unfortunate woman, not so simple. The other thing is that I have the overall impression that quality of Apple is not the same as it was with my mid-2007 because of my experience with Macbook breakdowns. As more electronic, that much is to blame on cheap Chinese part. If I had high confidence that I would get eight years on the new, then #3 is the clear way ahead. If these are made in Ireland? Where is reclamation made?

  If I get less than 5 years on a new, then #2 seems the way to go. And #1 is the frugal route.

  Thoughts?

• Very high readings of temperature CPU of the Mac Pro 8-core 2007

  I have a Mac Pro 1.1 updated to level with two Intel Xeon X 5365 CPU and firmware 2.1. The system has worked very well for months. However, I'm worried about CPU temperature readings. Assuming that the readings are correct, I have no explanation for the difference in typical 30 degree Celsius between the processor and the heat sink.

  Is it possible, that the CPU exceeds their life expectancy?

  During a stress test, I can see the following typical readings:

  CPU core 87 C / 189 F

  CPU a heatsink 58 C / 136 F

  B processor 91 c/196 F

  CPU radiator B C 59/138 F

  I use new thermal paste Arctic MX-2 and tried various measures, including polishing of the surface of the CPU and the heatsink using sandpaper grain 1000. Nothing has so far had no effect on temperature readings. There should be enough good contact between the heatsink and processor during the installation, because they stick well enough to remove the heatsink again.

  Max TCASE. According to the operating temperature -1333 http://ark.intel.com/products/30702/Intel-Xeon-Processor-X5365-8M-Cache-3_00-GHz-MHz-FSB is 63 degrees Celsius.

  According to http://www.intel.com/content/dam/doc/design-guide/5400-chipset-memory-controller-moyeu-guidelines.pdf the Quad-Core Intel® Xeon® 5300 series include a function of on-chip temperature sensor. The heat sink provided by Apple has a temperature sensor, which seems to be fixed directly on the coper plate that touches the CPU head spreader.

  Given the following quote from the same document:

  TIM's performance is sensitive to degradation (e.g. breakdown of fat) over the life of the processor because of the temperature of the phenomena of cycling. For this reason, measuring of the processor given TCASE value can decrease over time according to the type of material of TIM.

  Anyone know if the IHS on the CPU is soldered or whether they used the thermal paste between the IHS and the die of a CPU? In the case, perhaps it could explain the current temperature readings.

  Your temperatures look a bit high, but not outrageous. The temperature measured on the Silicon of heat will be always higher than the temperature measured on the radiator. That's what the radiator is supposed to do, leads away from the heat to the fins, which would measure even more cool.

  Your Mac allows to adjust speed of the fans to the top in a loop of feedback, founded the temperature of these measures. You can place a floor under your minimum speeds of fans. This can be done with the tool similar to some tool you already use, like the SMC fan control.

  If the processors to exceed their safe operation temperature, your Mac will perform a sudden uncontrolled power off.

  Discussions on the Forum, I speak on the forums a little and they take some time to refresh when I'm on 3-4 at a time, must be fast here.

  Photography and photoshop, I have downloaded the Adobe Lightroom 3 (when it is published) on the laptop. I'll also have a 500GB hard drive with pictures on this topic only. I expected import of external hd for photoshop. I don't want to wait all day to import and to work on pictures.

  I'll also watch DVD, including Blue Ray and I know the X 500 02 M supports this feature.

  I realize that this laptop is mainly for players, but will it also to meet my needs, I'm not a gamer so if there is something else out there, it's going to do the same job in Toshiba please let me know. I really care about this model well and I did a little research.

  I will also get the backpack of game and a few other odds and ends. Please recommend any additional extras that you think would be helpful.

  To be clear, Qosmio X 500 is better portable multimedia designed by Toshiba and if you buy it you will have a new and more powerful hardware peace.

  After reading what you wrote, I think that it is a good decision to buy this laptop Qosmio.
  For best performance, you need to optimize OS preinstalled. What does deletes everything preinstalled, you do not need, install your favorite applications, disable or unnecessary processes and services, make sure that unnecessary applications do not start with the OS. I think you know what I mean and you probably don't have this already before you start using the operating system.

  I don't know how it works in Australia, but here, in Europe, you can buy some products and test for two weeks. If you don't like it you can return it. If it is the same in your country, buy it, test it and make sure that you choose the right product.
